It's very close to the Termini station yet also a walkable distance to the major attractions in the city center. I was on the top floor it was very quiet. The AC could have been better but with the window open and they had a fan for me to borrow it was nice.
Poor drainage of water in shower stall
Ok
This hotel met all my expectations. The rooms are simply furnished, comfortable and very clean, with their own little bathrooms. The elevator works well. The television offers at least one channel in English - CNN, I didn't check for any others. The staff are pleasant and helpful. A very generous breakfast is provided from 7:30 to 10:00 . The location is convenient for getting around, central, near (but not too near) Termini Station. Lots of places to eat nearby. I would definitely stay again if I were visiting Rome.
Hotel is walkable so close by train station and restaurants. We walk everywhere (colosseum, pantheon….) hotel staff are very nice. Hotel and rooms are very old. Our room and furnitures are old. It is good for staying few days.
room need to be updated especially the shower 🚿 but apart from that it was ok
It's a very cosy place to stay and very convenient.
Nice staff, felt safe, room a little tired but good value for the price
Location is wonderful
I chose this one for the location. The price was great considering it was near Termini. The breakfast was actually better than i thought it would be. I recommend it for the price and location.
Excellent location… 2 minute walk to train station. Plus two minute walk to catch bus to airport. So close to so many sites, Roman ruins… everything in walking distance!
Staff were very kind and incredibly helpful. Hotel is very well located, and easy to get around from, However, the shower in my room was very small and hardly any water came out of it. The aircon turned itself on and off without warning, and on my final nights stay it did not turn on at all.
Helpful staff, close to the station, clean property, good breakfast. I’ll stay this hotel again.
Very good and nice servvices
The property was great! They were very accommodating and super helpful. It was centralized enough that taxis were fairly cheap to get everywhere. There was a great restaurant around the corner that we had a fantastic dinner at also!
Good location, budget hotel; don't expect more.
The hotel is in a great location very close to Termini Station. This is a good budget hotel. You can't expect more. I needed just a night while transiting through Termini, and for that purpose it was a great solution. It could be a bit cleaner, but for a few hours or overnight stay, this hotel does the job.
The rooms was very small, very dirty,no carpet not even slippers for the room,it was not worth it.The only ok thing was that it was xlose to Termini
I stayed here for 2 nights September 2019 and I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and many restaurants and shops. It was very clean, the image looked exactly as it their image shows which was a nice surprise. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of a safe, however I was not missing anything when I came back to the hotel. Whenever you left the hotel you had to turn your keys in, a form of insurance in case you're one to lose things easily.
Close to Termini but still quiet at night
The room was alright and in good condition. The air con was fine wasn’t very strong at first then was fine
Great location, beautiful property, nice staffs. Easy access to the port, restaurants and sightseeing.
Okay, but great location
Hotel was a little outdated, wasn’t the cleanest, but the location was amazing! Thankful there was an elevator. Checking was smooth and easy!
The bed was hard and had a dip in the middle. Not comfortable at all!
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. I've used this hotel on several occasions and will continue to do so. Conveniently situated close to rail, bus and tram services. Colosseum and Forum are within walking distance down Via Cavour.
Room was OK - it was pretty basic. All TV stations were Italian, so that was useless for us. Air conditioning rattled if you turned it higher than low position. No fridge or in-room safe. Shower was about 2 feet x 2 feet - no room to move. Raise your arms a bit and you bang them into the wall. Breakfast was good.
Great stay!
Hotel Igea surpassed my expectations. The location was perfect, only a couple blocks from the train, close to attractions, and surrounded by stores and restaurants. The staff was friendly, breakfast was great, and the rooms were perfect. My husband and I were very pleased and had no complaints.
Great location, super for getting around the city.
Central situated
Central situated clean hotel for a long weekend sight seeing in Rome.
Room was ok Breakfast was poor
Great location close to Termini.
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Igea. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice, especially the coffee! I look forward to my next visit!
No plumbing
We were redirected to another hotel because the Hotel Igea was undergoing plumbing repairs. There were no additional charges, The second hotel was newer and closer to the termini.
Good Location
It was so close to the Termini station which was very convenient to move around. But the shower space was very small and no hot meal for the breakfast.
Close to the train station
Recommended because it's near the termini. A lot of sidewalk closures in the area, not the hotel's fault. Elevators go between floors, be prepared to haul your luggage.
Clean, comfortable, safe & well-located.
Their wifi was out the whole stay, but it wasn't their fault. I've stayed at this hotel many times over the last 30+ years and find it a good place for the price. Not fancy but clean, comfortable, safe, convenient location if you plan to use the train or subways. The staff are always helpful and pleasant. The breakfast is very nice too.
Comfort
Air condition was not working.
Good hotel. Great location.
The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The room was very clean and nice.
Nice hotel close to train/metro station
Clean and cozy hotel room, very close to train and metro station. Within 20min walking distance to the main tourist attractions.
Ok for the price
The hotel is in a good location, close to the Train Station and walking distance from the Colosseum. The room was decent for the price, noisy because it is on a somewhat busy street. The main issue was that turning the air conditioning on, made the entire room smell like cigarettes even though the Hotel says it's non-smoking. Complained but they said just to open the windows since they couldn't tell who was smoking. We were able to check-in early, which was a plus.
Good location, but, disappointed.
This hotel has seen better days. Bed uncomfortable, continental breakfast was average. There are other better hotels in the area for similar price. E.g. Mecenate Palace, Palladium & Rimini. There is choice in this area - I wouldn't stay here again.
Nice and clean, very ftiendly personel.
Very convinient close to train station and city center
Good, bad, ugly!
The only good ting about this hotel was the helpfulness of Ivano and the other younger desk workers. The older guy could not speak english and was gruff. The manager who also worked the breakfast area was very rude and unhelpful. He said he would give me a room with a larger bed but never did. This appears to be his strategy as he never fixes anything. Trust me, there are plenty of things that need to be repaired. The breakfast was terrible. the highlight was cold cereal with warm milk. The beds were very small as were the showers. The location was far...four blocks from train station. The area was poor. The police were at the hotel one night. Shady characters everywhere.
It was alright, if I had to stay here again I would
Yes , I'd book again
Great location few blocks from Termini, easy to walk to with your baggage . Clean comfortable room and decent clean bathroom . Street has several cafes, grocery store and coffee shop. Did not choose the breakfast for extra 6 euro. Only drawback is if you are a light sleeper, there is early morning noise on the street, so ask for a room not facing the street . Otherwise , for 75 euro per night I think it was a great deal for clean and good location hotel.
Perfectly good stay
It's close to Termini which is great and there's a couple of good restaurants and even a supermarket nearby in case you need a snack or forgot to bring hand lotion. The room is quite nice and clean and the staff is super nice. The complimentary breakfast is simple but it's filling enough if you're in a rush and don't have time to get to a cafe. And also some cheap souvenir shops are close by, they've got the same stuff (magnets and shirts) as the nicer looking ones by the tourist areas. The wifi signal is pretty low but shouldn't be a problem unless you're doing urgent business or something like that. Maybe download some movies beforehand because the tv does only have 4 channels just so you're not bored when you're in your room. If you need to see your itinerary for the day or google maps for directions you can always sit in the lobby where the connection works fine. Overall it was a pretty great stay it's a very affordable and comfortable place!
This hotel is about three blocks from Roma Termini station (the main train station in Rome). That was nice. It is not hard to find. We took a night train to Rome so we showed up at 9AM. We went straight there expecting to just leave our luggage and go into town but they had our room ready and allowed us to check in that early so that was nice. The wifi was okay, it took a long time and multiple tries to connect but was good once we did connect.
would recommend it
close to the train and bus terminal, very convenient, quaint and clean
A good surprise in Rome.
So close to Termini. The entire neighborhood is classic downtown Rome. Street vendors and restaurants, lots of hotels. One of the streets has become pedestrian walk since my last visit. And for this price, it's a great find. Definitely would stay again, even with a name like IGEA. I wonder what that means?
Too noisey
The sounds from the elevator, people walking in the halls and closing doors echoed on the tile staircase and hallways, it sounded like someone was banging against the walls. It kept me awake all night. There was no hot water on some days. I was cold and asked if I could get some heat, I was told the heat didn't get turned on until Nov 1st.
Very basic hotel with terrible service
The hotel is in good location but unfortunately the hotel is of extreme basic quality. I don't know how it can be given any star rating. One of the staff a younger man (Didn't catch the name) was very welcoming and helpful, the others seems like they are not interested in anything or any query, The elder lady specially was quite unprofessional saying "can I have the key" when we were going out in the morning. The breakfast service as terrible, you do not want to do your breakfast there. In offer only bread and jam & ham slice in our first day, because cake was finished. You will have to ask for a tea. And when we almost finished our breakfast at 10 the breakfast staff came and waved the hand to leave the place, not even saying anything. I never seen such rudeness in any hotel service. Room was filled with strong air freshener, and was hiding a very bad smell. A/C does not work. We didn't want to come back to the room so tried to stay out as much we could.
Lovely hotel, close to train station
Hotel Igea was wonderful! I would have liked some hot items for breakfast and a softer bed. But the staff and location for this hotel were wonderful.
we recommend
5 nights we stay.Stuff are friendly and helped much things. We did not request, but they did bedmaking and change towels everyday. Next time I will back here . Breakfast was nice.
Convenient and comfortable by Roma Termini
Needed a hotel one night after a train trip and Hotel Igea worked out fine. Very easy to find and close to Roma Termini, just minutes to walk. Nothing special, small rooms, but very clean and quiet; I slept well. Breakfast is pretty good, lasted me until dinner. Restaurants in the area are pretty good also. The hotel is pretty well run, but it's not glamorous.
Hotel close to railway station
This hotel is very close to railway station, and subway/bus stations. The breakfast is good
Excellent hotel with great staff at the desk
The hotel is near the railroad station with two supermarket near the hotel. The room is comfortable with air condition and the hotel has a elevator. No mini bar in the room. What made the hotel excellent was the service of the staff at the desk. Most of the staff spoke very well English and went out of their way to help you with any of your needs.I really enjoy talking to the hotel staff at the desk about various subjects of interest. A plus to a wonderful and caring staff.l would personally like to thank Mr. Ivano who made my stay The hotel is near the train station with two, supermarket nearby. The room is comfortable and clean. There is an elevator, Wifi and air conditioner. No Minibar in the room. Good breakfast with a variety of food. What make the hotel excellent is the staff at the desk. The are very friendly and knowledgeable. Always willing to help. I looked forward to talking to them about various subjects. I would especially like to thank Mr. Ivano who made my stay at the hotel a real pleasure. He really take great pride in the job he does. He is A plus. Also another person at the hotel who I spoke to at the hotel on the last dayand help me with my departure. We had an interesting conversation and he gave me a pamplet. I sorry that I do not remember his name.I will definately stay at this hotel if I go back to Rome in the future.
Only location, nothing else
Hotel location is best of the best. This is the only compliment I can say about the hotel. Breakfast was the worst I've ever seen in my life. Despite to the fact that I told about that to reception, nothing was done. During my 5 day's stay, I could never had breakfast at the hotel.
Pick another hotel
I traveled around Italy and decided to stay in a different hotel before flying out of Rome. I stayed a couple nights at another hotel in Rome, so I thought I was prepared. The guy at the front desk was pretty unpleasant. He also stated that I had to pay a special tax, one that Hotels.com did not notify me about. When I attempted to pay the tax with a credit card, he said it had to be in cash. (I was tired and was not in the mood to argue.) The receipt he wrote me has no record of amount of paid, as I'm assuming he was pocketing the money (copy available). When I asked about the complimentary breakfast (in English and Italian), which was stated on booking, he looked annoyed and said there was none. The room was clean, no room safe, and the A/C made a horrible noise if you tried to turn it up. My other hotel was closer to the Colosseum, had a pretty good breakfast buffet, in-room safe, and was even cheaper.
Basic hotel next to Termini.
The hotel is ok,everything worked inc A/C.Above average basic accommodation.Good reception.
Close to the train station. But not clean neighbor
Very outdated place. Air condition did not work properly.
A great city hotel - near everything. Not luxury.
We had a triple room and it was exactly what we needed. Air conditioner worked well. It was close to Termini, great restaurats nearby and the hotel staff was very helpful getting us to where we needed to be. This was not a luxurious room, but it was comfortable, easy to get to, and the showers worked great. I would recommend it to someone who needs a clean safe place to sleep and base their few days in Rome. It's the nicest hotel on what looks like a shady street, but it's really quite OK. It's 2 blocks from Termini.
Good location
One night Basic hotel good location
Nice hotel close to the train station
The stuff is nice. I arrived about 10 am and allowed me to check in.
Except WI-FI speed every thing was good.
Great location, helpful staff, nice looking , reasonable price, no air conditioning in lobby, dining rooms ,halls room was poor ac too.
Nice place if on a budget
Good place with reliable WIFI, decent breakfast and very close to termini station. Nothing but a place to crash. If you are expecting anything else, then you are better off spending a little more money as you normally get what you pay for. I paid around 90$ per night in july including the ROME hotel tax. So I wasn't disappointed. The front dest agent, (The younger man), was very nice and helpfull. Would like to send kudos to him for making an effort to give directions to local sights.
The stay was one night only but overcame some itinerary problems. Staff were helpful
Decent hotel close to the railway station
The hotel is decent, with limited facilities. There is no restaurant and while breakfast is part of the package, the menu is very limited and very average. The plus is its proximity to teh central railway station which is connected to all the main sites.
Beautiful stylish old hotel
Stayed here for two nights while travelling in Italy. The hotel is a lovely period place with a real charm to its decor. Lovely staff who were really helpful. They stored all our belongings all day after we checked out. Breakfast was great with breads and fruit, cereal and toast. The hotel itself is really close to the train station and only a short walk from the main roman forum area. Perfect for a city break stay.
Short stay in Roma
I stayed only one night before flying back to the US. The hotel is located two blocks away from Roma Termini. The room is clean and remodeled recently. It is very quite at night despite it is near the station.
NO AC!
Had stayed here years ago and it was great. This time is wasn't. AC wasn't working(not even a little bit). I realize that is typical for Europe but this hotel has had good air in the past. If they had provided a fan,it would've been great! No fan. My husband had to get a towel cold and wet to wear around his neck to be comfortable...if only for a few minutes.
Good hotel for people in transit.
Good location, only 2 blocks from Termini Station.
have Rome
Nice basic hotel.
Great place
Very helpful staff that spoke English with a clean room
Enjoyed Staying in Hotel Igea
I stayed with my Wife for 3 nights. It was very pleasant, very close to Roma Termini Rail station and you could get all the required things you might need. Hotel staffs were very helpful and with kind behaviors. Breakfast was good as well.
Good hotel
Good hotel for a night stay and only 2blocks from train station.room was very small and wifi works in room.got a breakfast to go because i had to leave early to catch a flight at the airport.
A clean respectable hotel close to Termini
I was impressed by the spacious clean lobby and friendly desk staff so close to Termini. The room was clean and there were hundreds of channels on the TV to keep entertained. Elevator was very welcomed for our luggage. Complementary breakfast was served in a clean welcoming atmosphere.
Handy to the station
Excellent location to the station. Lift was a little odd as it stopped between floors so you had to walk half a flight of stairs. A department store and supermarket nearby.
Awesome
Perfect location literally round the corner from Termini station but still avoids the noise nicely. Super friendly staff (one of whom recommended our favourite restaurant 'Da Giovanni' just round the corner). Exquisite pastries and great cappuccino for breakfast. Lots of Classic Italian marble all over. Large bedroom, no bath but a big shower. Only criticism was the two single beds shoved together to make a double, the mattresses and pillows are also very hard, otherwise magnifico!
Comfortable Hotel near Rome's Train Station
Location is its best asset. Very close to train station and city tourist attractions. Hotel is old but in general well kept. We had to ask for another room since the air conditioner didn´t work properly and was extremely noisy. Second room was great! Staff were great too.
There are probably other places to stay in Rome
Breakfast is included at this hotel but I'd recommend you don't eat it. After a table next to ours left with quite a lot of food still on the table we watched the waiter return it all with his bare hands to the buffet, muttering as he went. Although we were paying for it we didn't go back the next day Room was ok but tired. Hotel requires that the room key be returned to the front desk each time that you go out. This wasn't explained to us and the front desk person was quite rude when we tried to leave for the day with our key.
Wi fi terrible
Very slow internet wi-fi, breakfast very simple and not good. The rooms are good in general. Good price.
Good Position
Easy walk to Igea from Roma train station. The hop on/hop off buses (best way for sightseeing) are located next to train station.
Convenient but not luxurious
Ideal location and wi-fi did work which was the main purpose of my stay. Was a little dark in the small rooms but would recommend it for a one night stay before travelling somewhere else.
Wonderful hotel very close to termini.
My sister and I wanted a hotel that had a full time front desk and close to the termini. We found this and more at Igea. The hotel is spotless. Our room was a twin room with comfortable beds. The location is great. The restaurant across the street was where we got the best spaghetti in Rome. If ever in Rome again we would stay at Igea.
Buona posizione
quelques points a ameliorer
Simples e eficiente.
Totalement
Próximo a estação Termini
Hotel localizado a 5 minutos da estação Termini. Muitos restaurantes ao redor. Extremamente limpo.
The photos on the website do not match the room, due to the amount of editing. It is old-fashioned, with only one outlet in the entire room and an extension cord for other devices. The room does not have a minibar, so if you need to cool something down you have to leave it in the minibar at reception with your room number. The shower is simply awful, with very little water, which makes it extremely difficult to regulate the temperature. I do not recommend it.
Ottima soluzione
The amount of hot water in the shower is low. It is almost impossible to adjust the temperature of the shower. Very good access to the airport shuttle bus stop.
good choice
Very close to Termini station. Clean room and friendly staff
Close to Termini. Shower entry was about 20” wide. A/C was turned off. No ventilation to move air. Bed was good. One TV station in English CNN.
