Check in no soap in the bathroom. Bedroom floor dirty. Bathroom shower stall very dirty.
House keeping & front desk is not professional
We had to leave 2 days into our 4 day stay as it was so unbearable. Breakfast was awful, barely any options which would have been bad enough but food had flies on it! Also there was no water in the toilet/shower area by the pool, the toilet was full of several peoples pee, showers and taps didnt work, was really quite shocking! Walls in rooms were paper thin so could hear everyone talking and babies crying. Icing on the cake was on the 2nd night we had a man fighting with his wife and family ALL NIGHT, we were woke up at 3am with banging from objects being thown about, doors slamming, screaming from the man and crying from the woman and the kids. It was terrifying. I opened my door as it had gone on so long I thoght i had no option but to confront the man to get him to shut up and the security door had been left wide open and the entire hallway floor was SOAKING. We had to leave and go to another hotel for our safety and for any chance of being able to sleep. I emailed the hotel with no response about getting some sort of refund only to be ignored and when i left the key to the desk the man ignored me. Only positive thing was that the cleaning and bar staff were actually really pleasant so it's incredibly unfortunate they have to work in such a bad place. AVOID
Poor wifi.
My room had no towels, soap, toilet paper and the entry door lock didn’t work properly. The tv took forever to get working. Staff brought me a bath mat to use in place of a towel. The carpets in the hallway was filthy and I didn’t want to even walk on them. I am allergic to dust mites so I always travel with my own sheets and pillow case, however I couldn’t sleep because I was afraid the covers would accidentally get on me. This property should not be rented out and stricken from the offering on Expedia.
Nice hotel, great staff, amazingly good location.
Nice clean and comfy fotel, just at railway station. It is really convinient location!
The hotel was near train station but no dining option insjde hotel, limited restaurant menu, no ac in the room, no lock on door, housekeeping came into room so early, noisy and very unkept. Very unclean and old.
we did not have high expectations for a one-night stay, we did expect basic cleanliness and hygiene. Unfortunately, even that minimum standard was not met, despite paying for the night. If you care about hygiene, we strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.
Worth the money.
Terrible stay
Far below Ibis standard, reception staff is not helpful. Can’t imagine there don’t even have a shared hair dryer can be found. Bathroom wall and ceiling are full of mould.
The check-in process takes too much time and is too bureaucratic. It needs to be simplified
Dirty dirty dirty
Don't know how Accor can let some dodgy mob impersonate their brand. Because this place is shocking. Room was dirty and in a very poor state with sink clogged, tv and AC not working (turned off for winter apparently) and a shared hairdryer 😂. Without the window open (to road noise), inside was unbearable. Sure, breakfast good and location convenient for train, but this place is more zero star than three star. Avoid. Accor / Ibis are trashing their brand. Never again.
A very convenient place as it is near the central train station. It has many amenities around that are walkable. The staff at the hotel are very caring and take care of you well.
The hotel is very convenient to the main train station which is why I chose it. I was disappointed that the air conditioning in the room was ineffective and a bit nervous that the room door did not have a privacy lock. The outdoor area with swimming pool is lovely and quiet.
Polite staff and quiet
No
Car park is a mess, they don’t have a fridge in their rooms.
Clean and centrally located, nice pool 👍
Horrible service
The admin staff was not efficient, too many not seeming to know system...many people crowded into reception waiting for staff to complete registration. I use Marakech hotels a lot and have stayed in Ibis in other countries...never experienced such inefficient service before
.
Average Accommodation
Pros: Close to train station and Gueliz Cheap price Customer service do their best Cons: Small room Walls are thin and can hear neighbor Elevator is risky
Paid full price, no swimming pool....
I arrived at the hotel and was greeted and checked-in by Ayoub on reception. To be honest, the best thing about the Ibis Gare Marrakech, was Ayoub! He always tried to help when he could. Hopefully he will go on and work at a classy hotel, as he is wasted working at the Ibis. All I wanted to do was relax by the pool. However, after paying full price for the hotel, the pool was empty for renovations... False advertising!!! Great location, but just a dull, drab, needs a lick of paint, dated hotel....
Good for one night
The reception was friendly, the lift and the room was in need of a lot of maintenance, The bed was comfortable and the water was hot. Good for one night as handy for the train and Supratours bus.
Convenient near the train station Friendly has a bar pool nice Garden
The dirtiest hotel I have ever been, No soap and shampoo in hotel toilet, No kettle/ coffee making in room, lift don’t work.
Poor service
For check-in , the guy at the front desk let us wait 30 minutes for nothing. There was mold in the shower. It was not clean . You should stay at another place. Very noisy
Terrible. Elevador an antique which does mot work half the time. Rooms so old and unmaintained. Should not be for rental. Air conditioning all broken up, no way to ajust it. Breakfast is a cold buffet, with very poor hygiene practices. I could go on and on. The only good thing at the hotel is the staff, I thibk they try to do their best with this awful run down hotel. So desappointed as usually I find Ibis a good hotel chain.
After the earthquake. Got there late. Could not find the entrance. Front desk would not answer the phone either. Ended up taking another Riad for the night.
The worst ever. Rooms are nasty. The water in the shower is barely dripping. The pillows and sheets don’t smell fresh and clean. The TV doesn’t work. Service is terrible at the lobby. I booked my room with breakfast included through Expedia, at check out they wanted to charge me for breakfast again saying that it’s not showing in their system, when i asked for a print out as proof so i can talk to expedia, they said they have nothing to show me. Horrible experience overall.
The room was a bit dirty.
I stayed in Ibis Hotel from 17-21st May 2023 and I must confess I was not disappointed. I had read numerous reviews(good and Bad) prior to visiting and was going to cancel but decided to hold on to it because of its accessibility to the Airport (you can take buses L19 - return ticket cost 30 Drh or Bus 18 cost 4Drh single). The good points were the Hotel was close to McDonals's, KFC, Starbucks, Carrefour supermarket and the Marakesh Train Station. The room was basic but very clean . The staff were very helpful and friendly. I didnt use the pool but saw there was one and not crowded while I was there. There are buses from outside the hotel to the Souk, Medina and other places of interest. My only off point to this hotel is there was no Fridge or kettle (I love my cup of tea!., I have never stayed in a budget hotel before so not sure if Fridge/kettle should be standard). I was provided Ice and hot water whenever I asked at the bar downstairs though. On the whole I was happy with my stay here and would visit again.
The room and the bathroom are dated and rundown for the price I could find better.
Smoke smell in the room
It's so bad hotel but staff was very friendly.
Filthy, broken elevator, terrible beds and pillows, disgusting…don’t stay here no matter the price
The hotel itself is on its last legs. Everything is so worn out. The only part of the hotel that looks pleasant is the lobby. The lift could barely fit 2/3 people in it and seemed like it would break down any minute. We travelled at the end of December and although it wasn’t boiling hot outside, in the rooms it felt like a sauna. The rooms were extremely hot and they do not have a fan or cold air from their air con so we had to either sleep hot or sleep with with window open and lots of noise from the road. It was not pleasant. The rooms were also very small and underwhelming. DO NOT PAY FOR BREAKFAST! The breakfast at the hotel is very mediocre at best and fairly pricey. The hotel is in a good location with loads of nice cafes around it. I’d recommend not paying for breakfast at the hotel and getting it at the cafes for half the price. The staff were very friendly except one moody woman. They went above and beyond to help us, which was really nice.
Needs an a/c system for each room, not a centralized fan that keeps on running on off and on position, and doesn’t cool the room, cos you can’t control nothing from the room.
I enjoyed my stay there and everyone was really helpful and nice
All things are great thanks
The carpets dont look like theyve been cleaned in years, the showers recently renovated but the doors dont fit so the water leaks all over the bathroom. Great for 1 night to grab our bus early in the AM but not for a long stay
So after almost 17 hours of flight time from LAX to Marrakesh , I was so exhausted and looking forward to my hotel stay to shower and get some sleep. I was awoken-keep in mind I was exhausted, I also sleep deep-after a couple of hours to something biting my legs, turned the lights on to find out ants everywhere on my bed. Terrible hygiene, cleanliness level for Accor hotels. I stayed in sketchy hotels all over Africa and Asia but never encountered something similar in bed. This is basic cleaning 101. So disappointed. I couldn’t go to sleep after that, receptionist didn’t give a crap about my concerns, they brushed it off as something normal in Marrakesh.
The staff are very helpful they helped us print our documents for flying. Nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pool was very clean kids loved it
Good service
Nice and clean. You are in the heart of Marrakech surrounded by everything you might need.
bad service and selfish during Covid 19 outbreak
Lacking charm
Average, expensive for a solo traveller. Poor breakfast. Asked for inside room. Check In staff not friendly. Overall disappointed.
A terrible place to stay
Walls are pealing smoke odor very strong and no room to walk around the bed bathroom door does not close TV INOPERABLE AC INOPERABLE
Perfect for Airport or Train station
The hotel was conveniently located for my needs and fulfilled my needs for my short stay in Marrakech but the service in the bar area was very slow and the decor was quite shabby generally.
INFESTED WITH BUGS-NOT JUST MY ROOM, EVERYWHERE!
RUN AWAY- to say this needs a deep cleaning is a joke. It is INFESTED WITH BUGS, MITES, FLEAS, and it is a systemic problem that they know of and do nothing about. It has ruined my vacation, and now in another country, I take them with me, on my body, in my hair, and all of my clothes. I couldn't even sleep the infestation was that bad. NO internet, for all of the 2nd day, and most of the 1st and third. Others in the hotel also complained of the infestation. NO one should have to tolerate this at any price. Smoking in the hotel, even at the check in desk is commonplace. Spent 3 night in Casablanca IBIS and it too has bugs, but was at least cleaner. THis is outrageous that they should be able to even list on Hotels. com. I will NEVER stay at another IBIS in my life due to this experience. They didn't even put pillow cases on the pillows and laughed when I told showed them the stains on the pillows. NO NET? NO A/C and infested. It should be condemned.
Very nice pool area. Great location. Rooms are ugly and service is poor
I booked through you and on arrival no booking listed i came late at around 130am and they had no record ....they even refused to book anything tonight! What a nightmare!
Toilet not bolted to floor So almost fell off it with the toilet tipping over. Bad sewer smell oozing from bathroom. Best thing is the shower with hot water and Grohe Tap. Towels are thread bare. Practically rags. parking is impossible and attendant keeps wanting to gratuity for nothing. Avoid.
Good experience
I had good experience, very helpful and smiley staff.
too old and desk was broken did not work aircondioner
Friendly - clean - great pool space and garden - would defo come back
The location was ideal for traveling by train as it is literally steps from the station.
The breakfast needs more variety...the location is excellent being near the train station
I have been charged for tourist tax which I have already paid to Expedia.
Fair......
Great convenience
Wonderful location next to train station and easy access to taxi & Gueliz shopping & cafes. Very nice terrace & pool area for kids . Regretably portions if the hotel in sad and dirty condition . The mold in bathroom ceiling, a broken door handle, and very dirty stained rugs in corridors suggest a sad lack of managerial care .
Value for money
Good value for money. Local.
Hotel require serious refurbishment and staff was not attentive to our needs . Carpet is old and worn out , bathroom look tired. Not up to the Accor standard hotel
Good Location
Close to train station
Basic hotel, consistent Ibis quality. A little run-down, signs of wear and tear here and there. But nothing too bad.
Good efficient check in, very good location, good clean room
An ok hotel for a few nights. Hard bed, but ok. The carpet should not have been there, as it is sticky 🙁😳
Friendly and convenient place to stay
The staff were super friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble even though we arrived late and hungry. Left on the Supratours bus the next morning right outside the front door so could not have been more convenient.
very convenient location (i needed to stay close to the station so i could get on a 6 am train), very attentive staff, very comfortable room
Great location- comfortable stay.
The Ibis near Marrakesh Gare is a perfect location. Simply turn right when leaving the train station. It is not more than 10 minute on foot. No need for taxi! Wonderful that there is a pool, although it was too cold for us to try it, but just relaxing near it was great. Fruit trees surround pool area. Charming. Location so o o o good. Right across street catch the alsa bus #66 or #13 to the Jamaa El Fna medina area. Bus fare 4dirhams. Driver gives change! Room very basic and small - hard to get english TV channels. Breakfast buffet good variety and worth 65MAD.
To start, the hotels.com description of the rooms is WRONG. The room doesn't have one double bed and a twin bed, which could accomodate 3 people. All rooms from the hotel are either double bed or 2 twin beds, only 2 people per room. I arrived with my brother and a friend and found out the room could fit only 2 people and there was no other room available. we had to find another hotel late at night after more than 10h trip. Regarding the hotel itself, this is not Ibis standard. I stay in Ibis all over the world because it is a safe choice, the standard is always the same. Not here. The room is sooo tiny, dark, the twin beds are almost connected, you can't pass between the beds and there is no space for 2 suitcases (I travel with hand luggage). Its is could in Marrakech in November, but since we couldn't adjust the temperatures of the rooms, the room was like an oven, we had to open the window and deal with the noise. Another inconvenience is that there is no lock on the door, and people get in your room as they please without even knocking, the no disturb sign is ignored. When I arrive at the hotel I was given a key of a room with a person in it, so embarassing! Breakfast is not included, one day i paid for it. It is twice the price of what you get in a boulangerie with no natural juice, no eggs and few options. The location couldn't be beter, beside the train station and you can do basically all main attractions of Marrakech with 20min walk. Find another hotel nearby!
Location so convenient but not what I booked
Positives:amazing location for transit/next door to train and bus station. Negatives: not room I booked as in advertised photo(see actual room in my review) also...dirty...molded through bathroom and floor and old sticky candy on bed
Good location close to train station . Maintenances of the room is not good
Stay for convenient transport location ONLY
Stayed in Ibis Casablanca a week ago - very nice. Thought Ibis Marakech would be similar - not so, old, tired and unkempt. Very disappointing. Great location for late arrival, early departure by bus or train.
Uncomfortable bed with bed topper . Topper keeps pushing to the sides .
So dirty, Ac unit not working properly, no room service, I book no smoking room they gave me smoking room I don’t know why I found cockroach in the room and lobby It’s so bad
Essential amenities are missing
The location is good. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants around. Easy access to the train station, majority of the touristic attractions are accessible by walking if you are healthy. However, the hotel room had two body gels and a soup. The information says hairdryer upon request, but there is only one hairdryer to share with the whole property at the front desk. They ask you to return in an hour. For ibis chain people expect for nice and simple stay, but this is something that we even don't expect for ibis.
Not worth its price. Rooms need some serious refurbishing and refreshment. Everything is so old that it is actually hard to say if it's clean or not. So far the most disappointing place I have slept in Marrakech and I'm visiting there on a regular basis. For me it's a big no. Sorry
Convenient stay, right next to bus and train stati
The hotel is fine. Everything works and the room is pleasant. There is no fridge in the room. When booking, I recommend to request a room away from the main street, it is extremely noisy 24 hours. Windows definitely need to be double glazed. Currently there is also a very noisy building site right opposite, jack hammers, etc. all day. Otherwise good value.
Spartan Lodgings
Adequate clean.. decent shower, good beds. Spartan interior., conveniently situated next to Train Station and Supra bus terminal. Short walk to Gueliz shopping and cafes. Recomend some refurbishing of dirty stained hall rugs and uncollected food trays. Good beds and nice pool.
The hotel is pretty run down when compared to other IBIS properties such as Casablanca. The rooms are very small and inconvenient. However the location is the best as on one side there is a train station and on the other a bus station.
The hotel room's are disappointing.
I am surprised with room cleaning and furniture. This supposed to be less than 2 stars.
Convenient
I needed a place for 1 night that was convenient for drop off and pick up. Room was clean. Very very noisy. Staff seemed overwhelmed. I kept door locked didn’t feel safe. Breakfast bar was fabulous. I would stay there again just to get a good breakfast.
Bare bones, well situated, a few nice touches
The location is convenient—and in Marrakesch, staying right by the train and bus stations leaves you in a pretty nice hood. Good breakfast, too. And the price is great. But do know that the room was tiny and basic...and out of three rooms my pals and I booked, two rooms had impossible to control (at least by us, and we were an international group of engineer types) the climate-control systems...which led to kind of stuffy nights.
I would not stay here again even for FREE
broken door locks, AC switched off because its not season. No towels available till midnight, staff do not understand English. Asked for a wake up call at 7.00am they call my room phone at 7.18am. pay an extra 100 buck and get a better room. To add no safety deposit boxes. Avoid.
Rooms really need refurbishing, specially the bathroom. Breakfast food of very poor quality.
long weekend away
good situation, next to train station. within easy reach of old town. worth a visit.
The bad things the shower is not warm I was not able to take a shower during my stay
Perfect location close to bus station
We chose this hotel for our last night in Marrakech as it is close to the Supratours bus terminal where we would arrive from Essaouira. Perfect for a night or two especially if you are using the bus to/from out of town. The front desk staff is kind enough to let us leave our heavy suitcases prior to our actual stay. This allowed us to travel light to Essaouira. Nice and relaxing garden with swimming pool. Attentive staff.
Great location! Rooms need to be upgraded though. Some of the outlets didn’t work, broken furniture, there were no towels when we arrived and we ran out of toilet paper and they didn’t replenish when they cleaned the next day. Had to borrow from family next door.
next door to train station and Supratours
beautiful garden, great spot if you are in "transit" through Marrakesh.....restaurant OK.....on the pricey side for Morocco but convenient...(vegetable pasta was yummy)......very quiet....no slamming doors at 5 am and it is fun to watch the trains and not hear them !!! ( at 5 am).
It's right next to the train and the bus stations
This place is like 37-44 USD - this is my 2nd time spending a. It's there (when I arrive so so late to the airport and don't wanna pay expensive prices to only sleep u til the next day) ...the room is clean, the bed is a double bed or so - definitely fine. The staff is helpful and they don't bother you. For the price it's a good option u less you want à riad which you can find better for the same price to be honest. I should note I left my watch and they were so nice and helpful and gave it back to me the next day after I had already checked out - very nice people.
Very convenient location!
This hotel is very pleasant. Its location could not be better: it's very close to the Supratours bus depot, ONCF train station, and the airport shuttle stop. Clean rooms, nice garden area with swimming pool.
Very Convenient, recommended.
On the down side hotel in need of updating. But, having said that convenience more than makes up for shabby. Ideal for onward travel. Thirty five dirham gets you to the train station. Adjacent to the station is the IBIS GARE, and adjacent to the IBIS is the Supratours bus station with connections to Agadir or Essaouira. The hotel has a lovely pool and garden. I always stay here and see no reason to change. Reasonable price, another plus.
IBIS MOROCCO - NO SURPRISES
All the Ibis in Morocco are ok, all built exactly the same. I go to Morocco frequently and Ive gotten fed up with the riads which can be a pig in a poke, great or poor, for ex. scant light in room - not very clean, short on mod cons, etc The Ibis is the McDonalds of hotels. You know what you get and you get what you pay for Dermot McGrath
Relaxing, close to rail station.
Conveniently located next to rail station and several shops, cafes and banks. I was able to check in and get my room key very early which was much appreciated. Staff helpful and attentive. Food was ok but quite expensive. Room was rather worn and grubby and air con seemed ineffective. Pool and garden area quiet and relaxing, very nice after several days travelling in Morocco.
Old in need of a remodel. Very noisy. AC did not work. Very basic accommodation.
Convenient overnight stop
Suitable place to stay in Marrakech after arriving by coach ( two minutes walk away)and getting a taxi to the airport the next morning.
Good location
Very handy location for using bus and train station. The swimming pool is very relaxing and quiet considering the hotel is in a main city location.
