great time in beautiful Salzburg

This hotel was out of the city but so easy to get to. Use the number 6 bus which you can get from the train station and buses run every 15mins and take 15 mins into town. A bus ticket for 24hrs costs 4.70 euros and can be bought at the hotel or on the bus. The hotel is clean and comfortable and has lovely views of the mountain from the balcony. A good tip for exploring Salzburg is to buy a Salzburg card , you can get these from the tourist information at the train station or in town, it gives you free entry to museums, cruise, cable car and bus travel. The sound of music tour is also a must.

Outstanding

Our relatives joined us and we were all pleased with the excellence of the hotel. They recommended a local restaurant which was excellent. At breakfast they presented a small Birthday cake plus a candle for our 9 year old niece.

The room was a bit tired. The floors were worn and along the corridors were very stained. The room was intolerably hot as no A/C. I slept half the night and woke covered in bites and itchy. I believe it’s very overpriced. Breakfast was ok, everything was labelled organic and the selection of breakfast juices was odd. I’m glad it was only 1 night.

Expensive for what it is. Quite small room, had a strong smell of mens aftershave. Bathroom very basic, shower curtain covered in orange mould at the bottom which was very off putting. Wouldnt rush back

Decent sized room and good amenities. Parking was just across the street which was a huge plus. Overall a good experience.

A good (but not great) stay for the price. Recently renovated, but needs more work. Ventilation was poor in our bathroom (no windows) and smelled musty. Some service was unfriendly.

Lovely Salzburg Stay

Organic food, delicious and fairly priced - good location.

Clean, comfortable room, free parking...you can not pull up to the front of the Hotel..park across the street and walk over...nice breakfast.

Large room, BUT; No refrigerator, no phone in room, no air-con. Should rate as a 3 star maximum, nothing like the 4 star shown on the internet.

Rooms very hot with no airconditioning and just a portable fan. Its a very plain hotel nothing special at all, and the breakfast despite having lot of Bio stuff was mostly unhealthy sugary food. Hardly any healthy or vegan choices, no fresh fruit no vegan youghurt. Hot food was just scrambled eggs with nothing else the rest was all cold and sugary.

Nice hotel but below average atmosphere

A good hotel 8 minutes drive from town centre. Nice bio breakfast served daily but could do with more hot choices. The atmosphere wasn’t great. Bar was shut during weekend and no reception after 9.

Nice hotel but very poor atmosphere

The hotel is nice and located 12 minutes from town centre if driving. Free parking was provided on the other side of the road. The breakfast was ok. Majority of the food served is bio but the hot food selection is not great; scrambled eggs and bacon. The atmosphere in this hotel is definitely the downside. The bar was closed every night during the weekend whilst we stayed. The reception also was closed in the evening which meant if there was an issue, you had to deal with it yourself without any help. Given the location of the hotel, it would have been nice if drinking water was provided.

Solid hotel

Solid hotel focused on seminar/conferences. A bit outdated but clean and offering a nice breakfast. Proximity to downtown Salzburg is great with bus outside the door, and great value for money. Nothing fancy, but a good nights sleep.

Helpful Host

The host went out if his way to help us fun the hotel when we got lost. He stayed late to accommodate our late arrival. The hotel was is a great location, a short walk from the city center. We enjoyed our stay here very much.

This hotel is located a short driving distance to the historic center of Salzburg, making it an excellent base for exploring the area. The staff here is exceptionally helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable, especially the bed. The hotel is very eco-conscious, which is wonderful. There was plenty of free parking and a breakfast offered. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Excellent, but no AC!

Hotel Heffterhof is an excellent hotel right outside of a bus stop heading into city center. This made traveling too and from the city very easy and convenient. One thing to keep in mind is that this is a “green” hotel, so there is no AC, which could be an issue during the summer. An iron is also not provided to your room but you can iron your clothes in their laundry room... Still an excellent hotel, I highly recommend it.

This consider as average standard as compare with Asia hotel standard. Only recommend if you are driving.

Super clean and it must be recently renovated...? Because everything looked relatively modern. Even though it’s not in the center of Salzburg, it’s a super easy ride directly to the city center. Bus is literally right outside the hotel. This was nice because when you’re tired after a long day of walking, a nice, QUIET room is just the thing you need.

This place is right on the bus route and easy to get to. The lights on motion sensors were a little annoying as they would come on even if you were not close to the lights. Other than that, it was very comfortable and a pleasant place to stay.

It was difficult to find, even with GPS. Once there, we enjoyed a lovely authentic Austrian dinner at a restaurant recommended to us by the very nice young lady at the desk. This property is not close to the attractions in Salzburg. It is in a very quiet neighborhood.

Upscale/Modern facilities, very comfortable, lots of parking. Breakfast was not included and the price I paid was higher than my norm, but I know it is seasonal and depending on the dates and accommodations. The room was nice and modern. An oddity for us was that the shower stall had no door and the wall between shower and the beds was somewhat opaque, so that if in the sleeping area, you could see the silhouette of the person showering. Maybe more interesting for young romantics, but not us. Best option - don't look. A little tricky to find. GPS was absolutely essential. Rather than drive into Salzburg center and deal with parking, we left the car parked at the hotel and took the bus to and from. The bus stop is directly in front of the hotel, runs each way about every 15-20 minutes, no transfers necessary, and is about 3 Euros each way (check price). I now recommend getting a 24-hour ticket each day, cheaper than 2 one-way tickets. The front desk staff I encountered were both (one male, one female) exceptionally helpful and considerate. When asked about good places to have dinner, the young lady recommended a restaurant with bier garden about a 10-minute walk away (includes walking through a short underpass full of graffiti). The name of the place escapes me right now but I had their Wienerschnitzel (named after Wien/Vienna) and my son had their cordon bleu (with added ingredients) and both were two of the best meals we had in our German week. Truly outstanding.

Excellent Modern Hotel

This hotel was just redone in 2016 and boasts very modern and open feeling rooms. It's a ten minute bus ride away from Salzburg and you can buy day passes for the bus at the front desk. I would definitely recommend this as a great option for staying in Salzburg.

Nice, comfortable and eco friendly hotel

Nice eco friendly hotel close enough to the old town of Salzburg. Friendly staff, just no AC only fans. Updated room and a short can ride, walk to old town or center of Salzburg. Comfortable stay.

Good hotel for short stay

A lot of noise during the night. Was very difficult to sleep for two nights. Very few restaurant around the hotel, but is not too far from the centre.

Clean but basic accomodation...

This is typically a basic, no frills type of clean accomodation which is mainly used by tour operaters (as we saw many big groups check in at night and leave early the next morning).. it feels like a 3 star property... good part is that there is plenty of parking spaces available - probably more than 50 cars can be parked easily... the front desk staff are very kind and pleasing and esp. the manager lady is such a helpful and lovely person - cant recall her name though...

Nice, clean place. We checked in after hours on a Sunday and it was a bit bizarre. Zero other people of any type in the hotel. But it was easy to check in self-service and we had a very nice stay.

Location was great.

We had a car so the free parking was important. So easy to catch the bus number 6 in to town which takes about 10 mins. Buy a 24 bus card and use it as may times as you want. Comfortable beds. Staff were friendly and helpful

Loved this Hotel!

It was my favorite place I stayed on my trip around Austria, Germany, Slovenia, and Croatia. The room was spacious, there was a porch that looked out on hills and mountains. There was a bus spot right across the street that takes you to the main part of town. The beds were pretty good. Very clean. Restaurant was good.

Short Getaway

Nice hotel, friendly staff and clean rooms. The onsite restaurant is only open for a very short window of time for dinner. Nothing around the immediate vicinity of the hotel, but the center of Salzburg is a 15 min bus ride away. You can buy the all day bus ticket from the hotel which is nice. Staff will help you with information about the local area and they are knowledgeable. Once you check out, you can leave your bags in their storage and pick up later. Wi-Fi was pretty weak. Overall good stay.

A Salzburg Gem

This was a lovely hotel. While the hotel may seem dated, it really isn't. It is across the street from the bus, which made access into the center of Salzburg a breeze. The staff at the front desk can sell you a bus ticket. Parking was fantastic with a large lot across from the hotel. The hotel and room were very clean and comfortable. Located away from the city center, it was an amazingly quiet location with lovely views out the window.

Slightly out of town but quiet area

We were in Salzburg for one day during the festival. This hotel had good patprking and good bus links to the city. Taxi was about 15 euros. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel newly renovated and helpful staff. Would stay again.

Clean hotel

Lovely clean hotel. Spacious room and well presented. The shower is not powerful but everything else is great. The hotel is in a quiet suburban location 30 min walk from the centre. A few bars and supermarkets are nearby.

Nice place to sleep

Good welcome nice room with view of the Untersberg. Number 6 bus stops right in front of hotel, very convenient and as most are trolley buses not that noisey. WiFi in room varied from okay to poor but was good enough to sort the sightseeing. Unlocking and locking the room door was unusual but okay with use.

Nice Hotel for a base, Good carpark. The best bit bus/tram stop outside running every 10 mins and only 10 mins to the city makes getting around really easy. Reception staff nice a friendly.

Rude reception

Everything was alright but reception service was bad. Thee staff in reception was rude and doesn't seem to care our problem or quest. We were the only room that situated in the construction for hotel's renovation which make us feel a bit unsafe. The room we booked was meant to have city view but instead the back side of the hotel. The room doesn't have a kettle. We have to go to the hotel's restaurant to fill hot water if we want to have hot drinks in the room so if the restaurant is closed we can't get any hot water.

Das Hotel ist grossteils barrierefrei, hat 3 Rollstuhlparkplätze direkt am Haus und ist ruhig gelegen. Sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal. Einzig der Schlüsselanhänger aus Filz ist absolut unhygienisch, da er weder gereinigt noch abgerieben werden kann.

Sehr gutes Frühstück, Zimmer ok

Dieses Hotel ist innen viel schöner wie außen. Die Zimmer sind modern und wirklich gemütlich. Vor der Tür ist gleich eine Bushaltestelle und man kommt einfach in die Stadt. Was in diesem Hotel fehlt ist eine Bar. Wir waren am Wochenende und wir haben einige Gäste getroffen, die gerne noch einen Absacker getrunken hätten, wir auch. Wir haben nur übernachtet und können das Essen nicht bewerten. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Ottimamente collegato al centro con la fermata proprio di fronte all’hotel, l’Hoffterhof è un hotel in periferia, semplice e attento all’ambiente. Letti e stanze comode, buona, varia e abbondante la colazione. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

Ik miste op de kamer de mogelijkheid tot koffie zetten en water koken. Beneden bij de receptie stond wel een nespresso apparaat, maar toen ik zondagochtend half 7 voor vertrek een bakje koffie wilde halen, bleek er geen koffie aanwezig te zijn. Daarnaast zag ik geen sleutelbox. Uiteindelijk de sleutel aan het keukenpersoneel afgegeven.

Ein tolles Hotel, PEFEKT in allen Bereichen, habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt, komme bestimmt wieder.

Ein Stern zu viel

Der Check in ist ungewöhnlicherweise von 12-15 Uhr angegeben anstatt ab 14 oder 15 Uhr wie üblich. Das heißt Pläne umstellen, um das hinzubekommen - um vor Ort herauszufinden, dass man nur einen Zettel ausfüllen kann, weil das Zimmer nicht vor 15 Uhr fertig wird und die Rezeption doch bis 21 Uhr besetzt ist - äußerst ärgerlich. Das Zimmer selber wirkte halbrenoviert. Einiges ist neu, unter anderem auch das sehr gute Bett, in dem man hervorragend schlafen konnte - natürlich so ziemlich der wichtigste Punkt an einem Hotel. Das Bad hingegen hatte neue Kacheln, war aber ansonsten eher auf 80er/90er Stand wie auch der Boden, der im Zimmer aus altem Parkett und im Eingangsbereich und im Bad aus alten Fliesen bestand - haargenau identischer Bodenbelag wie in der Jugendherberge, in der ich Ende der 90er meinen Zivildienst gemacht habe... Das Restaurant hat wenig Auswahl und ist nur von 18-20 Uhr geöffnet. Das Hotel liegt in einer Wohngegend, so dass man für andere Optionen entweder weiter laufen oder Auto/Bus nehmen muss. Das Hotel ist unterm Strich absolut in Ordnung - gut, wo Updates vorgenommen wurden; nicht schön, wo man das noch nicht gemacht hat. Man kann bedenkenlos dort übernachten, aber für mich ist es ein durchschnittliches 3-Sterne-Hotel und nicht wie angegeben 4-Sterne-Standard. Mein Eindruck war, dass mehr auf den reichlich vorhandenenen täglichen Konferenzbetrieb Wert gelegt wird als auf den eigentlichen Hotelbetrieb.

Alles war passend für einen Städtetrip, die Lage, die Ausstattung. Besonders gut war das Frühstück. Auto nicht benutzt, weil wir Räder dabei hatten.

Wohlfühlen in Salzburg

Nach längerer Zeit bin ich wieder in meiner Vaterstadt gewesen und habe im Heffterhof übernachtet. Wie stets war ich sehr zufrieden und habe mich rundum wohl und gut betreut gefühlt.
