Loved it!
I had a lovely stay here. It’s literally two minutes from Gina station. My room was ready by the time I arrived so I was able to check in earlier. The staff are really friendly and informative. I really enjoyed my stay there. Then I would definitely come back. I stayed in the suit. Some reviews have said that it updated but I think it’s more retro. It is everything you need and they also have breakfast for €10.
It is listed as a 4 star hotel. I wouldn’t give it a 1/2 star. A streetwalker would rather turn tricks on the street than in this sorry excuse for a hotel. Dirty, grimy…smelled like something died in there a long time ago. Tiny rooms too. Compared to this dump, the notorious St. Mark’s in NYC looks like the Versailles palace! Never again!!!!!
Very tired.
The hotel is tired looking. It needs fresh paint. It needs fittings properly working in the bedroom. Light shades broken, window shuuters broken, no shelf or anywhere to put anything in the shower room. We asked for a front street view...in our superiour double. We were given a room at the back overlooking scafolding. We were also overcharged for the daily tax. We will noit be staying there again .
Very close to Gare du Nord station. Need electric kettle and tea cups. A lot of water leaks to the floor through the bottom of the shower door. Please install a shower door bottom seal strip to prevent water from leaking out!
Too small and TV was out.
A simple hotel but clean and right next door to gate de nord
Perfect for catching train
The hotel’s location was excellent as we used the metro to go to Charles deGaulle airport
We stayed at this hotel because it was highly rated and cheap. It is a bit out of the touristy parts of Paris but it is next door to the train station which is a 2.15€ ticket to get to. The hotel is located next to loads of shops, restaurants and cafes and even your American stores like McDonald’s, Burger King, Starbucks is here. The hotel staff were really friendly and spoke English. The people in the area were really nice too. I would definitely choose to stay here again. The only faults were you could hear when the person next door flushed the toilet and there was a bit of dust on the shelves. Also, bring slippers for when you’re walking around the room because they didn’t give us any and the shower makes the floor wet.
I stayed one night at this pleasant hotel which was extremely convenient for Gare de Nord. My room allocated was of a good size and everything was very clean. The shower was lovely with the option of overhead rainfall or a handheld and directed unit. Water was copious and hot with hair and body shampoo provided. The staff encountered were friendly and extremely polite and on the basis of all of this I would happily stay again.
just near the railway station so convenient for our needs
Good hotel for staying overnight if you need to be around Gare du Nord
Great location (but came with the price) however the 4-star hotel doesn't even provide tea bags or a kettle. The design of the bathroom was also very strange as it didn't have a door meaning that the whole bathroom area flooded after shower.
Good stay
Room and bedding were very clean.
Super convenient to 2 train stations, great service, OK breakfast. Bed was lovely, but made room a tight squeeze.
There was a sewage smell inside the room all night . The receptionist was great guy . Helped me put my food in the fridge
Great staff, very friendly and accomodating, room was small but nice. Bed was comfy, breakfast was inexpensive and more than adequate. Close to trains...just th right spot for my needs.
Special thanks to the staff for its hospitality. Everything was great and we enjoyed our stay.
I stayed one night before going to the airport. I really liked the charm of this place! My room was a classic double and was very small, but clean and everything worked properly. The breakfast was nice (croissant and espresso were perfect!) and the gentleman at the front desk was friendly and kind. Very convenient location to catch an early train.
Quaint older hotel near
Older, but comfortable hotel just around the corner from Gare du Nord. We stayed there one night at the beginning of our trip, and then again towards the end. We were concerned about the street noise, but it was surprisingly quiet with the window firmly closed. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Loved it stay - esp room 601
Amazing welcome from Hans and the best room we’ve had on our trip. Comfy bed, great shower, and sooooo quiet (room in the back). Literally steps from Gare du Nord. Great price for a simple but perfect breakfast including a cappuccino or two. Has a lift but our room required one flight of stairs - but worth it!
Great staff and efficient check in and checkout. Next to main station.
Great
Pleasant hotel, staff really helpful. Room was big for Paris! Clean and useful for a one night stop between trains.
Great spot and right round the corner from Gare Du Nord, so was very easy for us to get to after our late train. Was only there for one night but would have definitely stayed longer if I hadn’t booked another hotel before hand
Close to Train station and Metro. Size of room is ok. However washroom sink area lacks space to put things and is separated from the toilet. Our room was quiet despite hotel in a very busy area.
This was my second time staying at Hotel Habituel! Staff were very kind and helpful, and we appreciated that we were able to leave our bags at the hotel for the day after we checked out. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient - it’s a quick train ride from Gare du Nord or La Chapelle station to get anywhere in the city. The area around the hotel has lots of restaurants nearby. Not the best vibe right in front of Gare du Nord, but hotel itself feels totally fine and we always felt pretty safe when walking around the area. Only complaint was that the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working. Staff offered us another room, but the AC also wasn’t working in that one. We were lucky that the weather was mild during our stay so we could open the windows to cool the room, but it would’ve been brutal had it been hotter outside. Overall we had a good stay, room was very clean and quiet. Would definitely come back!
Would happily stay here again. Quiet, clean, comfy beds, friendly staff, close to metro and Gare du Nore.
wonderful hotel, very clean and staff very friendly. very convenient for who is arriving by train to the city. breakfast in my opinion a bit overpriced. the area around the train station feels a bit unsafe in the night, although there is a lot of police on the streets in the area. it didn’t stop us arriving late in the night to the hotel.
The Room was a little dated. Compared to photos. Could do with a lick of paint and dusting
Proximity to Gare du Nord. Cleanliness was good.
The hotel was very convenient, just steps away from Gare du Nord. Very impressed with room size. Much bigger than the usual Paris accomodations.
Great staff and breakfast
Quiet and cozy
Conveniently located near Gare du Nord--highly recommend if you have an early train to catch. Despite facing a busy road, our room was quiet. Cozy, lots of shelf space, elevator. Would stay here again.
Convenient. Good size rooms. Friendly staff
Great city break accommodation
Friendly, clean, simple accommodation in a great location.
Worth to classify as 2 stars problems in every part of it Not worth the money we psid It’s too expensive comparing to what it provides
This is not a 4 star property as in reviews. No security lock on door, no safe in room. Bannister is very wobbly. The toilet in the lobby reeked. On the positive, the ac worked but you had to rearrange the curtains. The elevator worked but is tiny. It’s one block to the Gare du Nord.
Nice stay
I liked the colorful, interesting, lively neighborhood. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, graciously making cups of delicious coffee. The hotel felt like a safe oasis. The bed was very comfortable and there were lots of soft, fluffy pillows.
Close to everything.
This property is very close to the train station so if you have a lot of luggage like we did, you don’t have to go far. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
The Hotel was really nice and the staff amazing and helpful. The location is great close to train station and metro, only thing is there is alot of homeless and shady men hanging around the area and you have to go thru them to get to station. Hotel was great for what we needed.
Perfect base near Gare du Nord
perfect base 2 min walk from Gare du Nord. Very comfortable beds!
Very good hotel with great comfy beds
This hotel is right across the street from the train station which was exactly what we needed. The amount of time we spent in the room was minimal as we were up early and out late trying to cram in all things Paris, so served our purposes well at a price point that allowed us to do a few extra things. Hotel was full both nights we were there. The rooms we had was sparse, but functional. There is no fridge or coffee pot. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we felt welcomed and cared for during our stay. We did not take breakfast at the hotel because--Paris. I was concerned about making it back to the hotel safely at night, but we had no issues. There are a lot of young men hanging around during the day, and several homeless around the station, but we never felt in danger. There is an open urinal area in the street next to the station on the walk from the hotel and the smell is overpowering--but that isn't affiliated with the hotel.
The staff was very friendly but the room had an awful smell like sewage and it was hard for me to sleep. I got in so late and was leaving very early in the morning so I didn’t make a fuss. But I would not stay there again.
Walkable to Gares Est and Nord. Great helpful, friendly front desk staff. Rooms small but very comfortable, clean and great A/C during hot summer.
Yes very njcd Reagrds, Henry
Paris hotel with personality. A real French experience. The cappuccinos are great. The rooms are small but great.
Great Gem
Was a great experience! Right next to train station, good size room, friendly helpful staff. Neil was fabulous. Overall i hade a really good stay there!
Would have been good to have an in room kettle and fridge. The safe was a positive.
Amazing spot close to transportation. Staff were incredibly helpful and kind. Great for the English speaking traveller, if you are worried about your French speaking skills. We loved calling this place home for our stay. 2min walk to the main station. Thank you Hotel Habituel for being a great place to land after our journey. We will be back again!
Lovely place.
Lovely stay with my teenage son. Extremely warm and friendly greeting from man on reception in the evening. Room clean and comfortable. Very convenient location for Gare Du Nord. Would recommend.
Nice Hotel
Nice boutique hotel, no complain. Recommended
comfortable and clean, really helpful reception
The location was close to the Eurostar station, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
A stay of two halves. Had booked for two twin rooms, got two double rooms (one of which could have been made up as a twin but wasn't). Both rather basic and old fashioned (no cupboard/drawers for instance). The one at the back of hotel was quiet, had shutters, comfortable bed and was fine. The other was on a busy street without shutters so noisy and smelled nasty due to a badly sealed drain in the shower area. Breakfast was scant (a pastry and hunk of baguette) and they wouldn't provide glasses of water for the children. As a last minute stop off point prior to catching a train at Gare du Nord it served but wouldn't book it again. (Also not the hotel's fault but Expedia listed this under hotels with connecting rooms, it clearly didn't have any of those.)
Comfortable and close to public transit
Good location near train stations and food options, friendly service and comfortable rooms. Allowed us to drop our luggage off early before check in, which was nice. Would have liked a security lock on the inside of the door as a solo traveler. Free breakfast was bread and coffee/juice - good enough, but nothing substantial.
Comfortable
Night staff were very friendly, helpful and kind. Comfortable clean beds, clean room although the toilet and shower units were bit smelly. Flooring was ckean but it needs changing. Breakfast was ok, limited to only coffee and few croissants with butter and jam, no other selection. Could have options with fruits, yoghurt, ham, cheese. They could definitely improve it by the price we pay for a night.
The hotel is convenient to the train station and the metro. The hotel has been renovated recently and *looks* appealing. The negatives: * the rooms are not set up for 2 adults to share. There is a door to the toilet closet. There is not a door to the shower / sink area - so be prepared to be shower in front of any roommates. * The rooms are NOT soundproofed. We heard the elevator and people in the hallway all night long. * minor hardware issues with the room, the doorknob to the toilet was broken and not fixed, the manager had to come and fix the thermostat (room was very cold), and the windows did not want to stay closed. * there is only 1 room key, and the manager required you to drop it off at the front desk every time you left. (Old school and annoying - again, not friendly to 2 adults sharing a room.)
Friendly staff
Lovely clean hotel
We stayed for two nights and the hotel was perfect for us arriving via Eurostar as the hotel is over the road from gard de nore. The hotel was great, really clean and tidy and nice and quiet given its in the middle of a busy area by the station. The reception man was very nice and friendly and we were checked in within a couple of minutes of arrival. The location is also great with the metro line over the road that gets you to most areas of the city nice and quickly.
Clean room, nice staff-special appreciation to the Black English speaking gentleman at the front desk who helped me out when my Uber cancelled on me because we couldn’t communicate (my issue not the Uber driver’s). If travels brought me back to Gare du Nord I wouldn’t hesitate staying here again.
Convenient but noisy and issue with drains.
Great location, comfortable room but quite noisy (road during evening and building works that started at 8am) and the shower drains smelt bad. There was also a pair of someone else's socks in the room. Staff very friendly and reasonably good free breakfast.
Not very happy.
Small hotel with vey small room and lift. Not very clean has moldy smell. Breakfast suppose to be free in hotel.com website. At the time of checkout they charged 4 of us for breakfast. I showed them hotel.com website but they didn’t care. I will never go back there. There are lot of better hotels nearby for cheaper price.
Great value!
The staff was super welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean. It’s not a fancy room but it’s super quaint. Would stay here again
This hotel is very close to Gard du Nord so if you are traveling you can’t beat this location! If you don’t live in a bigger city (nyc girl here) the noise may bother you, but if you are used to cities (as Paris is) it’s not a bad neighborhood at all. Hotel staff kind and considerate. Now the room… they are dated and there is a really strange smell in the rooms/hall way. It’s maybe mildew or sewer? I can’t describe it but it isn’t pleasant at all… At one point house staff opened our door while we were sleeping which was a bit of a rude awakening. There wasn’t a knock or anything… also some of the amenities are off. No laundry service as was advertised on Expedia (as someone who was traveling though Europe for 20 days this was a bit of a bummer). Not a bad place to land in Paris for a few days, but probably wouldn’t stay here again
Careful which room you get
What was good : staff friendly , nice clean linen , great shower What wasn't : room looked into a dirty dark courtyard , directly into neighbors apartment window Stairs and lifts smell Small safe provided wasn't bolted down , so could be lifted and removed Overall not very good value
It was an unsafe hotel fit for a human being to stay at. Had mold in the shower and sink areas and smelled real bad in the room of mold. We could not stay at this hotel even though it was around 1 am. We moved out of the hotel within 30 mins of our arrival as we could not bear the smell. Very unsafe for someone who is asthmatic. Surprised that this hotel is on Expedia’s list of hotels in Paris, France
Hotel was clean, basic. My room. Was VERY tired and in poor repair. The shower got water all over the floor and the handle to the WC fell out.
I enjoyed my recent stay at Hotel Habituel. It was very close to the train station and within walking distance of plenty of restaurants but a bit far from all the main attractions. They had a bar downstairs that sold bottled beverages. My only gripe was thay the air conditioning could have been better and stronger.
Perfectly pleasant, would happily stay again.
My daughter (14) and I stayed here for a 3 day holiday. Location was ideal for catching the Eurostar. Although I am usually wary of staying close to mainline stations, this hotel was very clean and very quiet. The hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. So this hotel was ideal for our needs. The room layout was a little unusual, with the loo & bathroom completely separate. But this did not detract from what was a very pleasant stay. I would happily stay here again.
Great hotel! Literally steps away from the Gare du Nord train station which was extremely convenient. Very kind and helpful staff, and exceptionally clean. Great A/C, and the surrounding area felt very safe. Excellent value. Can't wait to come back!
Unexpected pleasure
The service people were most friendly and helpful.
The property is a 'diamond in the rough'. the train station area is typcially not a great area, but this hotel surprised me for its cleanliness, all hotel accomodations were good, including the bed, the shower, and the air conditioning. Really above expectation experience. The staff was very nice.
Just ok, certainly not 4 star property. Lift not working so not much fun carrying luggage up 4 floors. Very handy to Gare du Nord so easy for an early train.
Very happy
I was very happy with my stay. Everyone was very kind that we came into contact with; the room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet for being in such a busy area.
Ok
Nice room, very quiet, the staff were the NICEST people
Friendly staff. You class it as a two star hotel but it has four stars, surprisingly! But three would be nearer the mark. Very convenient though for Gare du Nord. My single room was cosy, with a good shower, but definitely not a four star room (not even Kleenex!) And no lift between floors five and six.
Positive / Negative points
Positive points: The location was excellent, it was located only approx 5 mins of walking distance from Gare Du Nord Station. The staff were friendly and helpful. They allowed us to leave our luggage before and after check in. Room was clean. Beds were very comfortable. WiFi was good. We were on the 6th floor at the back. The room was quite and peaceful. Negative points: Bathroom area did not have a door which made it unsuitable/inconvenient unless you are travelling alone or as a couple. There was also little bit of drainage smell in the room - perhaps because the building is very old. The lift only goes upto 5th floor so if your room is on the 6th floor, you will have go up the stairs from 5th floor to 6th floor.
It is a small reasonably priced hotel. It has a very odd small sign so it was hard to find it at first. Quirky room design and good size. The area around Gare du Nord feels a little sketchy at night.
Very friendly staff, great location around the corner from Gare Du Nord
Great atmosphere and really friendly
Fine for a short stay rooms are clean but may need renovation
Staff were friendly, and their knowledge of English was really helpful! Was clean and really close to Gare Du Nord and nice cafes!
Fortement recommandé !!
L’hôtel est parfaitement situé, les chambres sont toutes différentes et décorées avec goût, les lits sont ultra-comfortables et le personnel vraiment accueillant. Ce sera vraiment mon hôtel habituel !
Very convenient for Gare du Nord with ability to leave luggage before check in. Staff friendly. Such lovely quirky rooms with great shower and very comfortable beds. Would definitely stay here again
I love to stay here because the staff is really warm hearted and helpful! The station is under your nose!
The staff was extremely friendly, however this hotel is located on a very busy street in a less-desirable area of Paris. It was loud with street noises throughout the night, and the room had a fishy smell. The decor and staff were both nice though.
First of all, the staff was really kind and warm-hearted. The hotel was pretty good.
Clean And Comfortable Hotel Just 15pm From Station
Have stayed here before as ideal for uskng Gare Du Nord. Basic, clean and comfortable with staff always friendly and willing to help.
Good location - would stay again.
Good location across from Gare du Nord. Close to good boulangerie. Friendly helpful staff. 24 hour desk is reassuring. Clean room, clean lobby. Lift. At times room had a slight smell of drain, but perhaps not unusual in older buildings. We would stay again.
Hotel excellence
Excellent, clean, polite and friendly and convenient with many choices of bars and restaurants near by. Minutes away from Gare du Nord will definitely stop again.
Very small room
Room to small no door for bathroom and when we shower water splash until room near bed, i can hardly move inside bathroom. i will never consider this place again, other then location nothing is a plus.
Cleanliness
The head board of the bed had a lot of dust
Super close to the Gare du Nord station, pleasant staff at reception and breakfast, comfortable room, good breakfast option. The street is noisy so a watch out if you stay on a warm night and were hoping to have the window open...
Great location and next to train station
