Beautiful hotel!

Quality place, great location.

The hotel is stunning, the private butler service is fantastic, The rooms Are starting to a look at little bit tired and need some modernisation. There are often wine glasses and things being left on the small table outside of the rooms which clearly did not belong to the rooms. Not quite worth €1500 a night!

I feel like royalty every time I stay at this property!!! Everything is thought through to perfection!!

I stayed with my wife and 7-year-old daughter at the Grand Bretagne Hotel in Athens in March, and I can honestly say it was without a doubt the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful, and professional throughout our stay. Our suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean. Although the rooftop was under renovation during our stay (according to their site, expected to end at 5 April 2024), we enjoyed every minute at the hotel, from the friendly service to the perfect location and the wonderful facilities.

Everything about this hotel is wonderful!!

It was pretty fabulous I give the staff 15/10 they were that good! From the doormen to the staff at the gift shop they were knowledgeable and always ready to spring into action. The doorman every time we get to the door had a nice word for us and direction to our destination, the concierge recommended tons of great restaurants for us to sample like locals. lol...The hotel smells so good I bought the lobby scent at the gift shop to bring home (ah sue me lol) We were able to enjoy jazz night Wednesday (very very good) the only thing the restaurant on the 8th floor was closed for renovation but we were able to go next door on the 7th floor bar for drinks and enjoy the view of the Acropolis at night a must see. I will stay there again next year.

Fantastic

This is an iconic hotel and where I always stay when I come to Athens. The pool and the restaurant on the roof with the view of the Acropolis can't be beat! It is also in the center of everything and the staff are all amazing. This hotel is definitely in need of a major makeover, however, as the rooms are very tired looking and way overpriced for what you get. They probably have not been changed on over 30 years. I still love this hotel, but hope that they put some money back into soon!

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and was very satisfied with all aspects of my stay. Everything that I needed was provided for efficiently and with a smile! This is what I would call old world great service.....I wish there were other businesses that would provide the same level of customer service and pride that this hotel's staff did. Thank you for making my stay amazing and making me feel valued as a customer, I will definately be staying at the Grande Bretagne luxury hotel if I go back to Athens.

All great in the hotel. The only improvement I could suggest: when the hotel call a taxi , take care the taxi is actually turning the meter on before it leaves, because it will avoid us some troubles down the line with some dishonest taxi trying their chance with clients which look like they won't care being ripped off.

Staff was attentive, professional, and friendly

It was a wonderful stay, very accommodating. Only downside - there was a wedding in the ballroom that went on until 4am in the morning. Nothing of the hotel's fault and they were very helpful but it was disruptive to our scheduled activities.

Grand old hotel in tip top shape. Terrific rooftop restaurant and bar. Views all around. And above average fitness center. It’s a bigger hotel so staff attentiveness is not at the same level as the adjoining King George Hotel.

The hotel is a landmark in Athena, is a beautiful hotel, incredible views from the restaurants and the service is great but extremely expensive. I am sure that you can find for less money similar experiences in Athena

Beautiful traditional hotel.

Charming helpful staff. Very traditional decor - heavy swagged drapes, elaborate chandeliers with baby lampshades on the lights etc. Did not eat at the roof garden restaurant so can’t comment on the food but we found the menu rather limited and unimaginative with not much that seemed very Greek. It is also very expensive- €19 for soup of the day, €50 for grilled fish but I guess you’re paying for the view and excellent service. Sadly it was far too cold to enjoy the rooftop pool and bar terrace. I would return for that alone but only in warmer months.

The location, rooms, service and everything about the hotel were perfect. Such a friendly and helpful staff. Rooms luxurious and comfortable. I am still dreaming about the wonderful breakfast buffet and the view of the Acropolis. 5 stars all the way!

This hotel is definition of luxury. It has a lovely lobby area, with a couple of really good bars. The restaurant is really good with great views of the acropolis.

Everything was wonderful. Beautifully appointed. Rooftop restaurant was fabulous; Alexander's Cigar Bar is beautiful and inviting. (And it's bar food is great) Service uniformly excellent.

Very nice but not worth the rather grand price

A wonderful hotel but not nearly as wonderful as it thinks it is. I get that people don’t stay at a hotel like this because of the ‘value’ but the rooms were not quite so grand as I’d have expected for the price. The bathrooms were exquisite, the room, itself, was adequate. Adjust your expectations.

Very comfortable, traditional hotel in great central location. Helpful staff and concierge. Views and food at rooftop restaurant both excellent. Two minor complaints. Tea and coffee and bathroom products not replenished in room and seeking to charge for ,’premium’ broadband is not acceptable for a hotel at this price point.

The location was right in center city. The amenities were great. The service was amazing.

Beautiful inside and out, friendly and helpful staff, concierge did a great job aligning car transport and restaurant reservations. Dinner at GB restaurant was fabulous.

Do not stay here…it is not worth the money. They nickel & dime guests about everything.

Not worth the price tag

While this hotel is nice, it's not worth the price. The rooms are quite small, and the showers are a bit cumbersome. The rooftop view is amazing, but the food is subpar. They really are riding on the fact that they have that view to get you there. The continental breakfast rivals that of a motel 8, but they charge 70 euro per person. We also had to learn from another guest that we could order an omelet or eggs Benedict if we could get a waiters attention. The front desk and bell hops were very nice. House keeping came to clean and turn down our bed. They can at 9am to clean though so no sleeping in. Very nice hotel, food at the rooftop is fine, pool is quant, but staff is nice.
