Nice Hotel and Ideal Location

Very nice stay here. It's ideally located for the medieval city as well as restaurants on the way into Carcassonne itself. The staff were very friendly and the room was serviced daily. Our room was small but well equipped. Would have chosen a bigger room if we had known and if one was available. We had a great time at this location and the medieval city is astonishing, but expect to find a lot of tourists. For a good visit, get up early and head up there just before dawn - you will have the whole place to yourself to walk around and take photos.

The hotel is modern and clean with spacious rooms. It is within walking distance of a nature preserve with a lagoon and abundant birds. A popular beach is also right at hand.

We have stayed here before. Friendly staff, parking, ideal location for the Cite or a walk to the river.

We spent one night to explore the old city fortress and enjoyed our stay. It was a 5 minute walk to the main gate and there are several restaurants easily accessible in or outside the main gate. We appreciated having a secured parking spot, and although the room was small, it was clean, functional, and had a great view of the walled city. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, a very good stay.

Excellent service from the staff. Were very patient with our attempts at speaking French and spoke English when required. Breakfast was excellent and served on a looking out over the old Cite of Carcassonne. Room clean and comfortable excellent value for money.

Perfect roadtrip stop and sleep

Perfect roadtrip stop next to the castle and restaurants. I mean, its almost in front of it. Nice parking, friendly service, there is breakfast in the hotel which i recommend because breakfast places in France are not common. Clean room, nice hot shower and bed is ok.

Comfortable hotel a short walk from the old town

Very reasonably priced, clean hotel. Friendly staff, with 24 hour reception. It is very conveniently located in sight of and less than 5 minutes walk from the old city walls. There is good free car parking but it can be full. The room was well furnished and very comfortable, if quite small, but with an excellent en suite shower room. As with most French hotels, there is no kettle or tea-making facilities but a cheap and good coffee machine is in the lobby. The free WiFi works but is irritating as it forces frequent re-login and fouled up my browser to the point of being unusable. The solution is to keep one browser open for the WifFi connection and use another to access web pages!

Great location for old city

Functional room with quirky en suite toilet and shower. Great location for 3 minute walk to old city entrance, and handy car park too. Wifi in room ok.

Excellent hotel - highly recommended

All staff were extremely welcoming. The whole hotel is absolutely spotless. Rooms slightly small, but big enough for two. Breakfast excellent. Five minutes' walk from the old city. Great views from some bedrooms and from the breakfast room. Nothing negative to say about this hotel. Would definitely stay again. Excellent value - cannot recommend highly enough. The only reason they are a two star is because of the size of the bedrooms.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location of the property was amazing. A 5 minute walk into the walled city, a 15 minute walk into the Bastide area, and a 25 minute walk to the Port! The view from the breakfast room cannot be beat.

Not the best

Hotel dated room was ok but carpet in bathroom had a bad aroma. Bed was clean and fresh but overall the hotel could do with a good clean cobwebs everywhere.

Nice basic hotel, good location, great value

Spent three nights here, would happily stay again. It's well located on the doorstep of the citadel. The rooms aren't huge but perfectly adequate. well appointed, quiet and most importantly spotlessly clean. Modern bathroom with great shower. Your normal selection of continental breakfast items. The breads and croissants were all lovely and fresh. There isn't a lift, but quite frankly unless you have mobility problems you don't need one as it only has a ground and first floor. two very short flights of stairs and that's it. Good value for money.

Ideal for visiting the fortress of Carcassonne

If you want to stay close to the fortress of Carcassonne then this is the place! Located just a block or two from the main gates you really can't go wrong with this very affordable, clean and well-located option.

The hotel was very near the entrance to the citie, and was very clean. It was good value for money. I would like to have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room as in most hotels now. There is no bar in the hotel either.

Great budget hotel close to citadelle

I stayed two nights and had not opted for a room on the medieval city, but probably should have. No complaints about the hotel but the standard double room would be tight for a couple. The rooms are very functional and in great condition but the built-in wardrobe design did not include a shelf or some form of nightstand for a book and a phone. The breakfast food was nice but the selection was quite limited by the time I got there and I was not the last. Otherwise, the location is perfect and the small car park a plus. The hotel is also open 24/7, which is great if you go out at night, or check in late.

Great location for the Medieval City.

We stayed 2 nights at the Espace Cite. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Medieval City and were not disappointed, its about a 5 minute walk away. The staff were excellent - helpful, polite, efficient and friendly. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good value for money and the breakfast room was pleasant with amazing views of the Castle. The room was small but we did not find it a problem at all. Our room was very quiet and we slept very well. The one and only thing we were not too keen on was the bathroom as it wasn't a separate room but behind a glass partition and did not offer much privacy. Not really a problem for couples but for people travelling as friends, it could be a bit uncomfortable. Would recommend for those who are not too fussy about size of room or privacy when using bathroom!

Very convenient for the walled city

Easy to find and with free car parking if you get there early. Very convenient for city. Rooms clean, small and basic. Bathroom fully tiled with integral shower floor. Breakfast reasonable with choice of cereals breads etc but again it was not anything special. Basic hotel for one night, we were looking for something a little extra. If we were travelling and wanted a quick overnight stop them may stay again but we would look at alternatives first.

Convenient, Attractive Location, Nice Staff

The hotel is well-located, very close to the Cité. The surroundings are quiet. It is clean and comfortable, although the rooms are small. The staff is friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast is ample, although the coffee is from a machine and the cheese is processed. We stayed on a Saturday night, which was expensive.

Wouldn't go back to this hotel

This hotel is ideally placed to visit the medieval city. The room was small but adequate. The bed was really hard and not comfortable. The air conditioning in our room was not working and so we spent a very uncomfortable night.

Great location for visiting Dali Museum

Easy to get to, very close to Dali Museum. Fun, funny decor. Loved the rooftop terrace.

Close to Old City

Close to walled city (main attraction). Parking on-site and convenient. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was "modern" - lacked a bit of privacy (smoked glass barrier rather than solid wall). Need to ask front desk staff turn in AC (not a problem).

Our visit to Caracassonne

Its very close to the main entrance to Carcassonne and although the rooms are small the staff are friendly, the place is spotlessly clean and the price is reasonable.

Moderately priced hotel just outside the wall.

This hotel is a five minute walk from one of the two entrances to the walled citadel of Carcassone and about a twenty minute walk to the historic part of the main city. Clean, friendly and moderately priced with free parking on site.

Carcassonne

The hotel is perfectly situated for the old city of Carcassonne. It's literally 5-8 minute walk to the site and a little longer to the bars and restaurants. Hotel, again perfect, a little on the compact size but for the price and location very good. Breakfast is ad hoc so you needn't decide until the morning whether to take it or not. Got value and a good selection. Great place would highly recommend

Great Location

Very simple, well designed hotel with functional rooms perfectly located for exploring the old city. Bathroom is small, as commented elsewhere, so if you are of N American proportions and struggle to fit in coach class then you may get stuck in the shower. The rest of humanity can enjoy a compact, convenient, clean and functional room. However cat swinging will hurt the animal and leave marks on all 4 walls....

Excellent position

It is in a very convenient position for exploring the old town and well worth taking the train tour around the castle.

Close to Medieval Village

The rooms in the hotel are extremely small with very little space to manoeuvre. Hardly any space to hang clothing or store your belongings. The hotel does not supply bars of soap nor face cloth to wash yourself and furthermore the shower is so small that an average size person would have difficulties moving around the shower. When showering the toilet gets all wet as does the floor of the bathroom. Single beds are very small and mattresses are hard. My sister had another room not too far from mine and water from the upstair room was leaking through the ceiling of her room. Some of the front desk staff is not very friendly and also gave erroneous information on several questions. Overall I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Its only saving grace is that it happens to be very close to the Medieval Village of Carcassonne.

Very close to Cite

The room was small, but clean (preferable to big and dirty!). The hotel is very close to the Cite - maybe a 5 minute walk. Walking to the hotel from the train station (about 20 minutes) would be difficult if you aren't carrying a backpack because the sidewalks are very narrow and some of them are in poor condition depending on the streets you take.

Great location and helpful staff

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the location is within walking distance to the castle and free parking is available if you come in with the car. The room might be a bit small if you have big luggages, but we managed and it wasn't a big deal. The room is clean, wifi works well and that is the main thing we need. The front staff hotel couldn't be more helpful and I would stay here again if we visit Carcassonne.

great location

Room compact but well equipped bar a kettle. Air con excellent, WiFi OK. The big plus is being just 5 mins from the old city. The airport bus dropped us within 50 yds. No noise problems, easy to walk to the new city for trips on the canal midi or for trains.

Good Hotel! Great location!!

Perfect location, walking distance from the medieval city of Carcassonne! Really efficient staff but cold relation. Good bed! Noisy in the morning because of door locks. Shower is too close of the toilet, everything is wet after usage. But overall good experience! Recommended!

Service over and above normal expectations

I have stayed at this hotel before which is why I was anxious to return. This time again, a most enjoyable stay. The receptionist was incredibly helpful when, due to the French Air Traffic Controllers' strike, my flight from Carcassone back to London was cancelled. I had to get back to London that day and she checked on the trains, availability and prices so quickly that I was able to purchase almost the last available ticket on Eurostar that evening. Top marks for all help. Would definitely stay again.

Small room with a Big view.

We stayed in room #242 for three nights. The room has a nice view of the walls and turrets of Carcassonne’s old walled city. It is a very short walk – 3 minutes – to the old city so the location is nice for tourists. However, the room is very small. There is no place to place your luggage much less the items that are in it. There is a small closet to hang a few things but there are neither shelves nor storage area. The bathroom area is small, has a small shower that is not enclosed, and a small space for toiletries. There is also a hairdryer. The hotel serves breakfast for an extra fee. There is free parking and also secured parking for an additional fee. There are many restaurants available in the old city.

Helpful staff, excellent location

We enjoyed everything about the hotel, the staff, the location, the breakfast. All were great. The room was tiny but we made do. The bathroom was small but cute and functional. This was the smallest room we stayed in during our 3 week vacation.

Close to the Citadel

Extremely small rooms. Bathroom with the shower on top of the toilet. Take a shower and gets wet the ehole bathroom. Air conditioning was already off. Staff like the typical french people, disaster. In the advertising they mention that thry speak english and spanish. You arrive and they just speak french to you. Very rude people as well. Breakfast is terrible. Only advantage is the good location, about 100 meters from the citadel.

Location is excellent and is OK for 1 night. But rooms are so small that even a small amount of luggage is a problem.

Clean, Sleek, Modern

Great location, modern and clean but is really more like a small college dorm room. There is not enough room on the floor to open your suitcase and walk past it. If you can overlook the small size it makes for a perfect short stay with parking. It is just a block away from the outer Carcassonne wall- you can't get much closer.

Great Location to Carcassonne Castle

The hotel was in walking distance to the Carcassonne Castle. The breakfast buffet was good. The hotel service was good except at check-out since the clerk did not speak English. In booking our hotels, they stated that hotels with three stars and above always had staff who could speak other languages such as English and Spanish. Check-out was challenging without staff who could speak English or understand English. We would recommend that this hotel have staff available at all times to speak English. The rooms were clean but very small. We would recommend this hotel to others.

Hôtel très bien situé, par contre toute petite chambre donnant sur le parking au rée de chaussée, à 100€ ! Douche à côté des toilettes, l’eau va donc sur les toilettes. Lit confortable, par contre il faut changer les oreillers ! Horriblement trop mou . Sinon, le personnel est très agréable, souriant et disponible.

VIVE CARCASSONNE

Très proche de la cité, il permet de visiter celle ci , et tous les alentours de façon très tranquille. Le patron de l hôtel est très attentif et de bon conseil. Proposant des services utiles et permettant de "faciliter la vie". Ne pas hésiter. de plus le premier week end du mois la visite de la cité est gratuite.

Se você não se importa de tomar banho sem nenhum Box ou cortina e se enxugar com uma toalha um pouco maior que um guardanapo. Se vc reserva um quarto de casal que não cabem duas malas, este é seu hotel para ficar. Atendimento rude quase hostil.

フロントスタッフはとても親切で、夜のチェックインの際、周辺のレストランの終了が早いことや、道案内など外まで出て教えてくれたり、次の日の観光ポイントなども詳しく教えてくれました。お部屋はコンパクトにまとまった感じですが清潔感がありました。2星なので冷蔵庫はありません。駐車場は無料が満車になった場合は当日でも地下駐車場が10ユーロで利用できました。

Vi tog til carcassonne for at se den flotte middelalderborg. Den ligger to min fra hotellet. Der er meget stemning i borgen og byen der ligger inden for borgmurerne. Selve byen udenfor er ikke så spændende. Hotellet er super til et par overnatninger. Pænt og rent. Personalet meget flinke. Og morgenbuffet er fin. Gratis parkering.

Hôtel bien situé malgré un parking gratuit limité

Pour un premier séjour au pied de la cité de Carcassonne et à un prix abordable en cette saison (du 03 au 06112016), cet hôtel nous a permis de découvrir un site exceptionnel à petit prix et sans galérer pour ce garer sur trois jours. Néanmoins, nous avons trouvé l'accueil simple et un peu distant. Un bémol sur le personnel de ménage, si le deuxième jour rien à redire, par contre, le troisième, étant parti en villégiature dans la région des châteaux cathares vers10h00, en rentrant vers 15h00 (cause mauvais temps), nous avons eu la surprise de trouver la porte de notre chambre ouverte (non fermée à clé après le passage du personnel de ménage et légèrement entrouverte...(heureusement plus de peur que de mal et les bagages et divers linges à leurs places initiales). Nous pensons à un oubli mais vu le nombre de chambres occupées à notre étage, nous aurions pu avoir une mauvaise surprise en rentrant et voir notre escapade carcassonnaise virer au vinaigre. Un rappel et une surveillance du personnel est peut-être à reprendre.

salle du petit déjeuner avec vue sur la citadelle.Chambre très correcte.Belle salle de bains entièrement carrelée un peu petite, les toilettes sont mouillées lorsque l'on prend sa douche ( à l'italienne).La cloison séparatrice chambre /SDB est une belle vitre dépolie, originale mais un peu embêtant lorsque l'on se lève la nuit pour les toilettes, la lumière de la salle de bains illumine la chambre. personnel accueillant et sympathique.
