Very kind and helpful staff!
Nous avons passé un tres bon sejour Le personnel super sympa Tout etait parfait
Excellent hotel in great location. Noted that a few fixtures in the bathroom needed repair (missing towel bar and toilet paper holder loose). No shampoo or conditioner provided. Nice limited breakfast buffet.
Staff were so helpful. The hotel is a perfect place to explore Rome.
Bellissimo hotel in una villa storica e in una bellissima e strategica zona. Pulitissimo, confortevole. Consigliato!
We had an excellent time in Rome staying at this property. The staff was wonderful. The hotel is conveniently located, and has a great outdoor patio area. Highly recommended.
The bedroom was clean and the bed was very comfortable for sleeping, bathroom clean and a great shower. Breakfast was excellent and the waitress was very helpful and I can say that about all the staff on reception as well any information we asked they for gave us an answer. Outside the hotel is the Roman Aquaduct which is very impressive which goes on for miles but could do with a good clean up. Not far from the Metro and the Colosseum which we walked to. I would stay there again.
Very Clean rooms and friendly helpful staff
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly, professional and service minded. The quadruple room was clean with a beautiful high ceiling and had a nice balcony with a lovely view of the surroundings with the ancient wall. The hotel is well situated less than 20 min walk from the Termini central station, and 7 min walk to the metro. You can easily walk to the Colosseum only 30 min away.
An amazing place to stay. Comfortable, unique, warm and welcoming staff, amazing breakfast. Would HIGHLY recommend staying here! Fantastico!!
I usually never write reviews for hotel stays, but I just want to share that our time at Hotel Emona Aquaeductus was AMAZING! The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. They were great in answering my emails when I had basic questions (this was our first trip to Europe, so we had many). Every time we came and went from the hotel, the staff greeted us like family. There is someone at the front desk 24/7. The location might not be for everyone since it was about a 20 minute walk to the center of the city (Colosseum, Roman Forum, etc.), but we personally enjoyed the walk.
LOVE
Best hotel service I’ve ever had. They were so nice always making suggestions (if we wanted them), calling cars to and from airport for us, you could chat with them, they were all very friendly. We went to Amalfi for a few days and came back and they let us leave a couple bags so we didn’t have to drag them to and from Amalfi. They were in our new room when we arrived! Best service ever!
Molto bene!
The quality of the bedding was excellent, fragrance, free towels and sheets, everything was clean and orderly, rooms were unique, the staff was fun, friendly, music during breakfast was engaging and unusual, the breakfast was great, easy to get around. We would go back.
Walkable distance to the Metro, also near two tramway line. The hotel was quiet and clean. Staff was very helpful.
Little Boutique Hotel tucks in remote side of Rome
Pictures on travel agents' website amplify the overall hotel offerings. Dated hotel with amenities falling apart, room is small. The services rendered by front desk (in particular Mike) and breakfast lady are excellent. Breakfast has limited range but adequate considering the price paid, it's of value. Location is not as convenient or near to food, transportation or shopping.
We only spent one night here. Hotel Staff was extremely helpful and gave great recommendations for dinner and called us a taxi the morning we were leaving. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The breakfast (cost 10 Euros each) was totally worth it and really good: coffee, meats, cheeses, eggs, pastries, Nutella, juice, etc. Hotel has a nice courtyard area perfect for enjoying some vino after dinner. There is a grocery store a few blocks away. Lots of options for dinner a short walk away. While the area outside the hotel wasn’t great, the hotel was perfect and felt safe. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the Colosseum.
Tourism tax was asked to pay in cash, not card. Not notified about that ahead of time. AC was not working properly and when asked, was not addressed. It was way too humid in our area to enjoy, I would not classify this hotel as "4" stars, more like 2 or maximum 3 stars. Would not come back.
Though the property is rather small and the rooms a little tight for space, everything was clean and comfortable, and a great value for the price. Vladdy and the rest of the staff were welcoming and helpful with friendliness and great customer service. Location was also good for sight-seeing and accessibility to attractions. Morning breakfast was perfect for the price.
Wonderful hotel! Front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the €10 breakfast was delightful. Shout out to Mike, who helped make our stay extra special!
Perfect check in!
First time in Rome
This hotel was perfect! Very quaint, beds were super comfortable, breakfast was amazing, and the staff was great!! If you expect a large hotel room in Europe, that is not their style. I have been many places in Europe and it does not happen, so the size of the room did not bother me at all. Also, the location was perfect! Right in the center of the main sites and walking distance to markets and amazing restaurants!!
Clean place, friendly staff, good breakfast, and convenient location. Room was too small, had some problems with the electricity, bathroom was old
This a quaint boutique hotel and all the staff are extremely helpful and polite
Nice property, scooters are in front of the building, and it is a quick walk to the train station.
Clean, good breakfast but not in a convenient location.
The staff bent over backwards to be sure their accessible room was up to par...and it was except the shower was a little difficult to transfer into from the wheelchair but we managed. Removing the glass enclosure and installing a curtain would make it easier. A toilet seat on the bidet/toilet would make it easier for those who cannot squat. Being that it is an old building (but very charming) the one elevator is quite small. It took some creative manhandling to get my wife's small power chair in but we managed. Aside from the items listed above, this hotel is very charming, it's staff very helpful. If you have minor mobility issues, you can use this hotel, otherwise you'd need a more modern building. We walked to most of our sight seeing destinations and found that most of the streets in Rome do not have curb cuts and sidewalks need repair.
The room we got was standard, nothing to rave about just clean and suitable, a bit small for 2 people. We didn’t stay in the room for very long other than sleep, showers and storing our baggage for a couple of days. The area was convenient, near restaurants and transportation and walkable to The Colloseum. The staff was friendly, and the courtyard was lovely.
A so-so stay
Hotel is average. There is AC but don't expect the great thing. TV in the room was faulty, sound was on and off. Hotel has potential to be better. They do have great staff.
Would never stay here again.
The hotel is very cleverly photographed. But in reality, is a run-down BnB with minuscule rooms. We booked the "romantic view of the aqueducts" room and it was like staying in a closet. Also the entire are around the hotel is covered in graffiti. Didn't exactly feel safe.
Excellent
Excellent Customer Service
Staff was amazing, friendly and very helpful. Room was nice with a small balcony but very very small. Clean, breakfast was lovely with breads, and fruit served in the outdoor garden.
Lovely staff & garden but shabby bedroom :-(
Lovely staff and gorgeous outside space for breakfast etc… But the room I was in was in pretty poor shape, very tired, small, noisy, the air-conditioning had been turned off so it was boiling hot, it all just felt very underwhelming!
Nice stay, too warm
Nice classic hotel .. but the AC is not good at all.
Bunk
Another 3 star claiming to be 4 star. In a shady part of town and the staff will agree. Lock your stuff up if you wanna keep it. Rooms have terrible AC. Breakfast is bunk. Beds and pillows are so uncomfortable. I can say that the staff are excellent. That’s it.
Hotel Emona Aquaeductus was an oasis in the busy eternal city of Roma! you are welcomed by beautiful garden with water fountains and comfortable chairs. Nero the hotel Cat is a great addition to the hotel and gardens. All Emona staff where very friendly and keen to make sure our stay was perfect. We upgraded to a superior room with a balcony and rain shower. Well worth the small upgrade charge. We where given lots of restaurant suggestions which all where as expected/promised. Fantastic food!! The rooms had air conditioning, functioning windows, very clean and we felt very secure. Nice room amenities too. The breakfast each morning was fresh and plentiful. Fresh fruit, cheeses, meats and pastries galore. The coffee was great. The hotel is very close (5 minute walk) to public transportation including buses, trams and the Roma Metro. local convenience stores and a fantastic bakery very close to the hotel. This is the hotel we would stay at again when travelling to Rome. It's funky and eclectic decor and furniture made the Emona Aquaeductus stand out in the best way possible.
A beautiful property, a little haven in the heart of Rome. The staff were lovely too
Clean room, helpful front desk, comfy bed. Hotel cat (Nero) is adorable!
Everything is great! Shower is huge, great location, staff was very kind, bed it comfy. This hotel is exactly what anyone needs before/ after a long flight.
Excellent location for exploring Rome, several tram line only minutes from the hotel (Piazza di Porta Maggiore), and several excellent restaurants close by.
I liked the staff and service. Breakfast was good and good value. Room was cleaned regularly. I did not like that my room had no curtains or blinds as the sun came in at dawn and lit up the room. The room faced a fairly busy street with significant traffic noise so I kept doors to balcony closed.
Disappointed! Don’t waste money
Extremely unhygienic room, uncomfortable bed, same breakfast every day. Found hair in bed linen as well as bath linen. No facilities in the room. Very bad experinece. Could not even find a cab aa it’s not around the main roads. Would not recommend at all
Great but not 4-star
Great Hotel in a great place but it is not a 4-star hotel
Nice hotel but lacks some amenities
The room was basic but clean and good enough as a base but not one to spend a lot of time in. Though there’s a breakfast service in the hotel, there is no restaurant in the hotel so other meals require eating out. The breakfast was pretty good. The Wi-Fi /internet connection in our room (second floor) was patchy on numerous devices. Third floor internet was seemingly better. Wi-Fi security was based on WPA so not really secure. Couldn’t recommend for business use for this reason Staff were in general very helpful and pleasant. Approx 10 mins walk to nearest subway/bus stop. In summary not a bad base for a few days sightseeing but not for business travel.
A clean hotel with lovely staff. The room was ok but definitely not 4 star. The walk from Termini was through some less desirable parts of town. Breakfast finishes at 09:30 sharp! On Sunday whether you have finished or not. However overall it was a nice place to stay
nice and cute. loved it
no problems whatsoever. great place. everyone was nice and helped us with whatever we needed.
Not a 4-star hotel
The room given to me was a decent size but the AC was not working. I asked to change rooms but wasn't given the option to do so. Instead I was given a fan to use which was in such a poor condition that it would fall in the middle of the night. And then I was blamed for their maid breaking one of the lamps (I did not let them blame me for it and hence was not asked to pay for it). This 4-star advertised hotel was a max of a 2-star.
Old hotel, not in the best part of town.
Old hotel, with nice garden, relativly big rooms, but with old furniture, and catastrofic bathroom ( shover is on the floor , with the curtain, and toillet is witouth cover... Breakfast was modest, but ok.
Nice interesting hotel but would not rate it at 4*
The hotel is quirky and interesting in decor - creates a nice atmosphere. Room was very clean and cleaning staff did a very good job each morning. Staff on the desk were efficient and pleasant but not particularly warm or welcoming. It is not luxurious and for some may be a disappointment but it is perfectly adequate. Superior room was not particularly large and lacked some basics - not much space to put clothes (no drawers) and was surprised there was no kettle/tea or coffee making facility in the rooms. No hot water one morning which meant showering in cold water. Breakfast was fine - the usual bread, cold meats/cheese, cereal - and available from 7-10 which should cater for most people's needs. There were some bacon, egg on offer but was not good. Hotel is located in an area not too far from the city centre and sights. I wouldn't term it the nicest area but it did not feel unsafe at any time. Manzoni Metro stop about 10 minute walk away (this is about 4 stops from centre of Rome and many of the sights) and a range of trams/buses very nearby - most of which went into Termini station which is 4 stops away.
See Rome and Die....of disappointment
A big big disappointment. Local area was questionable, especially at night. Classed as a 4 star hotel - no chance. A 2 star at best. Poor furnishings and fittings. No toilet seat. leaking toilet Bed (SINGLES !) Not long enough for me. Would never stay here again
Great staff; a mixed-bag of rooms; weird art
Before I start this review I want to say that the staff - everyone of them - was great. They worked very hard to solve problems and make sure I was satisfied. I was very disappointed with the first room I was assigned (noisy and the air conditioning didn't work). No other room was available except a tiny room obviously set aside for starving students (no bedspread or blankets and so tiny I couldn't open my suitcase). But the A/C worked and I accepted it for one night. The third room was much better (quieter with working A/C). The art work in all the rooms was strange and I had to hide the paintings in the closet because I found them a bit disturbing.
Character hotel located close to the train station
Excellent overall experience.
The air conditioner is really noisy, we have to shut it down for sleeping. It was winter but were lucky that the weather was not really really cold.
Great value for money accommodation
The hotel was close to metro and tram links to take you into the heart of Rome. No complaints about the hotel and the staff were excellent. One thing to know separate from the hotel.. The surrounding area isn't the nicest to walk through. Lots of homeless people and graffiti.
It was a lovely hotel and the staff was excellent
Lovely hotel excellent staff breakfast was nice. The down side was no kettle in the room basic toiletries. And they need to start hoovering under the beds
Great hotel
This is a great hotel. The staff are lovely. The decor is charming and unique. Clean and well looked after. We had a big quiet and comfortable room. Breakfast was great. Really lovely place. The area is not central and far from attractions but we were fine with using public transport and it was worth it as it was good value for what we paid.
Disappointing Stay
I'll cut right to the chase. The walls are thin and you can hear every single noise coming from the hallway and the rooms sharing a wall with you. Every time someone else flushed their toilet, I thought someone was in my bathroom using mine. The windows leaked and are also very thin, which is a shame given the hotel's location on a busy and loud street. Breakfast was nice, the staff was friendly, and the price was reasonable, but there were too many issues that outweighed those positives unfortunately.
Lovely hotel, convenient location, excellent staff
Lovely hotel, useful location, room nice and comfortable. staff were really really helpful! We were trying to book restaurants on the phone but the language barrier made it difficult so they kindly did it for us. Breakfast was also lovely. Would recommend
very nice small hotel :)
very friendly staff and very good breakfast. about 20 min walking to Collosseum and a few minutes to metro. good value for money.
Nice hotel, close to the train station.
This hotel was ok...the staff. Wry nice and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was very good. The room was comfortable and clean. A bit of a walk to see any of the site & to the hop on hop off bus.
Nicely decorated and easy distance from center.
Great and friend staff. Better selection for breakfast compared to the other hotels we stayed in on our trip. We had a superior room with a spa bath which was amazing of relaxing in after a long day walking. Bed was a bit too firm for me but my husband liked it. Hotel decor was quirky and fun. Would stay there again. Good distance from train station, tram and metro. Would recommend the tram 5 or 14 to hotel as bit of a way with a suitcase on town.
Just a tram ride away from the action!
I stayed at Hotel Emona just last week for 6 nights. The staff were professional and friendly. The room is very traditional, a bit dated, but comfortable and clean. The style of the hotel is very arty, and unique with a pretty terrace out the front for relaxing. Continental breakfast was included in my booking, and was a great way to start the day of adventures in Rome! The tram stop is only a 5 minute walk and takes you direct to the Colosseum. This hotel is great for solo travellers, friends, family looking for a place to retreat that's just far enough from the craziness of the city centre, but close enough too.
It was a nice hotel and quite
The hotel was nice and clean with friendly staff who were very helpful. Close to a metro station so easy to get around .
Hotel a 15 minute walk from the Colosseum
This hotel is rated as a 4 star hotel but in reality should be a 3 star. The hotel itself looks a little dated and could use some reservations in the rooms mostly. The hotel is located on a rather busy street so it was kind of loud at night and early in the morning. The hotel staff was excellent! The breakfast is ok (cold meats, breads, cereal, fruit, juices, coffee and tea). The only major complaint I had was the A/C did not work in my room so it was rather warm.
Not a bad place
The room is simple but is cramped so pack the basic necessities to stay. The staff is extremely helpful. They answered every question I asked and showed me exactly where to go to get around town. Overall the place is alright and I recommend anyone to stay there if they are there for 2 or 3 days.
Welcoming hotel close to everything.
Very welcoming and accommodating staff. The hotel was nice and clean and in a great location.
Good location and quiet setting.
This hotel was located in an area which allowed peace, but was also located within a 20 minute walk of central points of interest. Good restaurants very local to hotel.
AMAZING STAFF! Convenient Location! I recommend it
I have no words to express how happy my mom and I were with our experience at this jewel of hotel. The whole staff, Maria, Polina (please forgive me if I wrote your name wrong) Andrea, the cleaning crew, everyone kept a big smile every day and helped us tremendously answering questions and accommodating our requests. Clean, Cold A/C, great location close to the termini. Fast Wifi, roll in shower. Thank you all Emona Team, I will send you referrals. This is our eight visit to Rome and you all have topped any other hotel as far as costumer service and satisfaction. God bless you all and we will see you all again soon. I love the black cat Nero by the way. Stay with confidence in this hotel, you deserve their Top customer service! Theresa and Abraham
Small and Friendly Hotel
Situated conveniently and within 15 mins walk of Colosseum and 5 mins from nearest Metro Station. The staff were very helpful and recommended nearby eateries for dinner. The courtyard was a lovely spot to relax day or evening and meet and chat with some of the other guests and exchange experiences on tours and best places to visit. Good all round breakfast to suit all tastes and set you up for your day exploring. Small but comfortable rooms, well air conditioned with a mini bar and safety deposit box.Taxis are good value for money and come within 5 minutes.
The hotel was in a great location to the metro and restaurants. Staff was helpful, friendly and spoke good english. We enjoyed the breakfast in the art deco hotel.
nothing special
didn't like it
Charming hotel close to all the sites.
Our experience at Emona was excellent. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The halls and rooms were uniquely decorated. Our room was cozy, clean and efficient. We felt as though we lived in Rome for a week instead of just visiting. I would recommend Emona to anyone who wants to get the full Rome experience. It is conveniently located within walking distance of the metro station which we took to the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, and the Vatican. We walked to the Colliseum and many local trattorias and cafes.
Quiet location away from tourist attractions
Room was smaller than expected even after changing, breakfast was little disappointing nota good variety for a supposedly 4 star rated establishment. Pleasant attentive staff. Very dated decor, outside patio area could be excellent if only cleaned properly, bathroom toiletries almost non existent.
Nice clean hotel, very friendly and helpful staff.
This was my first trip to Rome and I had no idea what to expect. I arrived at the airport to find out that my carry on had stayed in Amsterdam, and there had been a mix up with the shuttle service I had booked in advance. So needless to say I was tired and cranky by the time I arrived at the hotel. I was an hour early for check in but I was let in my room right away. I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful the staff at the Emona Aquaeductus was. They helped me get around to where I needed/wanted to be. And were super friendly. The room was small, but it was what I expected for the price, and I didn't go to Rome so I could spend time in a hotel room. Overall I was very satisfied with my stay. Close to metro station so you can get to all the major attraction easily.
Excellent city break stay
A very clean attractive hotel within easy walking distance from Metro and trams. Hotel staff were delightfully considerate. The secluded courtyard garden by at the front was a delight as was the quality of the rooms. Highly recommended.
Delightful hotel
We had a lovely experience at this hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful
Great value
Very friendly and helpful staff, small but very comfortable room even with a bathtub.
Well kept hotel with professional staff
I was lucky enough to book this hotel through "Wotif's" Mystery Hotel deal so I enjoyed my one week stay at a reduced rate, though I would be happy to pay more to stay there again. The hotel has reasonable access to public transport and there is a small supermarket and bars and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel supplies a great breakfast with both hot and cold choices and great coffee. The hotel is clean, well kept and the staff are all obliging and professional. I'm very happy to recommend this hotel and I thank them for a very comfortable stay
Quaint and a bit quirky
We had a 3 day stay here and it was lovely. Definitely not a normal 4 star hotel but the staff were delightful, breakfast was good, bed was comfy and location suited us perfectly. The rooms are a tad tired and could do with updating but were spotless and served our needs well. If you're looking for something rather special then perhaps look elsewhere but if you want a peaceful hotel with friendly staff who cannot do enough to help you then give this hotel a try.
A good little home base in Rome.
A nice little hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful. The housekeeping changed the bed spread- literally a different style/color of comforter every 2-3 days. Fresh towels. Room was small, to European standards, but well kept. Shower was hot. Make sure you don't get a room near the street if you are a light sleeper. The cars, sirens, trains, and trams can be heard if you are. I didn't mind so much. Free wifi throughout hotel, including the room. 6 Euro, per a Person, per a day (up to ten days) charge by the country that must be paid in cash at the end of your stay. An insider trip for Rome, and all travelling. When you have free wifi at the hotel, use "Yelp" app.. to bookmark all your favorite places. Then when you are out and about without WIFI- open the app and go to bookmarked items- the GPS still works and you will be a "blue" ball on the screen. This will help you get around some and find things out in Italy!
Not a 4 star
Booked for location with expectations for a 4 star hotel. It would be good for a 2 star. The staff was pleasant but the place is run down - old rooms with bare furniture that was old too.
Couple trip
Nice location, good for the money. The staff was friendly and the breakfast very good.
Wonderful hotel in great location
It was a lovely stay away from the bustle of termini station but still within walking distance if you had 20-30 min to spare. The hotel was quiet and quaint and was perfect for our stay. Staff was friendly and super helpful, introducing us to a wonderful nearby restaurant. Considering other options in Rome I would definitely stay here again.
Lovely hotel
The hotel was a little way out of the centre of Rome, but in a quiet area which I liked. The breakfast was very good and the staff were helpful and friendly.
We think it is very well placed and enjoyed our stay. Everyone was very kind. We recommend fully.
Honeymoon Hotel
Our stay at Hotel Emona was great! It's cute and quaint, just what we wanted for our honeymoon. The staff was wonderful and helped us get around the city, giving us ideas and pointers for navigating the city. My husband and I were very pleased and would recommend this hotel in Rome.
Charming hotel near to central Rome.
Enjoyed every minute in this charming hotel..a true oasis in a very busy city. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very generous and served something to suit most tastes. The cool courtyard was very welcome in the heat of the afternoons. And the ac was very simple to use in the bedroom. would recommend it to anyone . The decor was of course amazing..
Nice hotel!
This was a lovely hotel which was close to a metro and bus top as well as being walking distance to the Colosseum. Friendly staff and comfortable rooms that were cleaned daily. Although being so close to all of the above the hotel was situated in a quiet area which was great in the evening.
Great little quirky hotel somewhat off the beaten tourist trail but worth seeking out. 15 minute walk (downhill) to the coliseum and less then 5 to the metro. Tram stop at porto maggiore really useful for getting up to the termini rail station. Lovely little garden area to sit out in at breakfast and evenings out of the sun.
Emona hotel in roman
I found the staff very helpful and the hotel very clean close to metro. The hotel its self was basic is the only negative but you can overlook this as the staff were so helpful in aiding with your needs it more than makes up for it.
Quirky but friendly hotel
This was our second stay at this hotel. It's quirky and has some interesting artwork in the rooms but we enjoyed our stay. It is handy for the railway station and 20 minutes walk from the Colosseum. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly and helpful. It's also very good value for money.
Great staff and nice historic location.
Very friendly staff, nice location and an all round pleasant experience. Very powerful shower, which was used lots in the Roman heat!
close to the train and subway station
it is an old hotel that has been renovated, the staff were very friendly, the morning breakfast was prepared freshly in the morning, it is off the beaten path, but close to transportation
Good enough for the prices but for one time
The room was really small I didn't even have space to open my suitcase on the floor only the bed. Also some mold in the ceiling and the bathroom. Good for a weekend but not more.
Lovely family run hotel
Loved our stay at this hotel, it may be small but has plenty of character. Rooms were just the right size and only drawback was we couldn't get a late check out as they were fully booked. Staff were excellent and always happy to help. Would definitely stay here again.
Great hotel!
Lovely, quaint hotel in a great location with a super-friendly staff:)
Pretty good place Surrounding area not so well kept Great restaurants
Very helpful staff
A quirky hotel, very good value and well sited for buses and trams. The staff were extremely helpful, giving me advice on local restaurants and on my problems with Trenitalia (don't ask!). The room was small, but comfortable. Breakfast was fine, a typical Italian breakfast with additional scrambled eggs and bacon (which might be better off in separate hotplates). My only tiny gripe was that, as in many Italian hotels, every fruity flavour of tea was available but not ordinary black tea. I would certainly stay there again.
Good location and helpful staff but poor amenities
Located close to Colloseum and centre, friendly and helpful staff, but poor amenities; this is not a 4 star hotel - 2.5-3 star
The hotel is cute but the rooms are not as the one in the photos. The staff was great. The rooms smell bad..
