It is a beautiful hotel, staff was helpful. Breakfast was great. It was quiet, beds were comfortable and loved the ice box.

We loved our stay at the Emma. The staff was over the top friendly, informative and willing to share their knowledge of the entire property. The rooms were filled to the brim with everything possible to make us comfortable. And all the surrounding properties had everything we needed or wanted.

Great stay, awesome staff

I have always like Hotel Emma and have stayed here many times. We can save by using Expedia! However, at check-in they did not have our room ready so after some back and forth with management it was agreed we would wait 45 minutes or so. We stowed our bags. They offered another room with a shower only but I specifically paid the upgraded charge of a room with the tub so I wanted to wait. When we walked to our room, the maid cart had the lovely macaroons which we did not receive, nor turn-down service. I suppose I you use Expedia and save then you do not get these “extras”.

Hotel Emma is Awesome and would recommend to anybody and everybody. They do everything right, down to the smallest details.

I have had the opportunity to stay at the Hotel Emma on a couple of different occasions. The staff is warm, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are incredibly comfortable. The ambiance of the public space is unique and engaging. Still my favorite hotel in the southwest United States.

We loved the fireplaces, the architecture, the ambiance, the bars, the staff, and the rooms! Pool on rooftop was great as well!

Love the Library in Emma for relaxing and reading! Hotel decor is amazing so wandering the property is part of the experience. Wish they would stop using fragrance in AC in public spaces. Not environmentally friendly and Texas air smells fine!!

Didn't like that the tv (wanted to watch a movie on an extremely cold day) had only direct tv. Called front desk. Sent up a "cable" to hook to the back of tv so we could use our phone. Had to keep plugging and unplugging the phone about every 10-15 minutes, because of random digital noise. Very unsatisfactory considering price of room. When you update your tv's to the year 2000 standards please let us know. We like to watch a movie as a way to end the day.....

A vacation should be a break from your every day and Hotel Emma is that. This was our 20th anniversary and we needed to do something special. The staff at the hotel was great and help me set up the room with flowers and chocolates and a gift for my daughter. They were friendly and helpful at every turn. The hotel itself is beautiful in a way that historic buildings can be. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We only stayed one night but the memories will be forever.

It was an awesome experience went for our anniversary, plenty of things to do, great variety of Restaurants and shops, room was awesome, staff was great !!!

SA Anniversaries

The hotel had just about everything....food, drinks, but no computers for visitors(ck in for flights). The sink in the bathroom was slow to drain. Free coffee 24/7 and delivery was speedy. Room service breakfast was timely and excellent. Valet parking was also speedy & excellent. Many restaurants incl a bakery within walking distance. Best service...no doubt about it.

Great historic brewery from 1860's and the hotel emulated the existing structure which is so amazing how it was programmed. Definitely a must come back and the service was impeccable.

Already Planning Our Next Trip

Hotel Emma felt more like staying at a resort than a hotel. The room was comfortable, but the activities from drinks in the library to the history we learned while on the tour really made the stay special. With the many restaurants and stores on the grounds and the availability of the riverwalk next to the hotel, we are already planning our next trip.

Amazing hotel!

I live and work nearby and have visited their lobby bar many times but this is the first time I’ve stayed over in the hotel. I would say it’s the most expensive room I’ve ever stayed in but it was worth every penny. The hotel is so historic and unique that I will be back to see what the other rooms look like. As beautiful as the building is, the staff is actually what makes it great. Part of it I’m sure is that San Antonio is home to the friendliest people in America in my opinion. They also are well trained in hospitality. When we were there, the hotel was hosting a very formal wedding reception….I can’t think of a better venue in San Antonio than the Emma.

The Best San Antonio has to offer!

We stayed at Hotel Emma this same time last year when many of its features were closed due to COVID. This year, we were able to experience all Hotel Emma has to offer. We're so glad we returned. From the welcoming hospitality to the room and drink/food venues, everything was superlative. Pricey but worth every penny!

It's a really wonderful hotel in an old brewery. The designers did a fantastic job of melding the old with the new. The lobby, bar, library, Supper restaurant, and the room were all beautifully decorated. The service was great start to finish.

Their service, hospitality, and facility (pool is a bit small but not a big deal) were very charming. It's been a while to feel the price is equivalent to what we’ve treated comparing all other boutique hotels we spent in our past.

San Antonio Spectacular

This is our second stay at Hotel Emma. Both times we were treated so nicely by hotel staff. Prior to this arrival, we received text messages so we could easily update the front desk on our arrival. The rooms are spectacular! This time we stayed in the River View Tower. The last visit was in the old brewery section in which the rooms have vestiges of the equipment from the brewery days. The rooms are modern, well appointed, comfortable, with some nice perks. Turndown service was amazing! The bathroom was spacious and easy to access. There are many dining and shopping choices in The Pearl, but if you want to stay in, dining, bar, and pool are very accessible. There is also a tour that takes about an hour so if you can book that, it gives excellent background about the hotel. This is a great location and they will pamper you. If you are looking for a luxury hotel experience in San Antonio, and I think you will be very, very satisfied!

Hotel Emma is first class!! Excellence from the moment one arrives. Our 4 day visit to Hotel Emma began with a welcome Margarita in the Library! Enjoyed… Chef John Brand’s complimentary recipe demonstration with tasting, Devon’s (the beverage GM) martini tastings and Hannah’s tour of the historic buildings. Complimentary in-room coffee | water service 24/7, turndown service with Macarons! The relaxing rooftop pool has a cute “food truck” with walkup or poolside service. Emma is just steps away from the river and Pearl… a restaurant | shopping plaza with a farmer’s market on the weekend. We enjoyed strolling around Pearl morning and evening. Since we have visited San Antonio several times over the years, we felt no need to leave the Hotel Emma area. Enjoyed immensely!!

Hotel Emma was an amazing experience- so much history in a unique hotel with great personal service and employees who really cared about our experience here. Outstanding rooms, beds, food, service, history, people!

Service and staff at Hotel Emma were exceptional. Our first room had an electrical issue in the bathroom and they immediately (like, within 3 minutes) moved us to another room. The old brewhouse rooms have lovely furnishings and beautiful bathroom tile work. Will definitely return.

Honeymoon night

Stayed there for out honeymoon. Checked in the night before and informed them I was staying there on our honeymoon. Night of the wedding there was a bottle of champagne got us.

Great stay! Loved the Pearl District and being able to walk the Riverwalk. Highly recommend a stay at the Hotel Emma. Try Lucile's Day Out at the cocktail lounge. Bourbon and banana? Somehow it just works! Super cool vibe all throughout the hotel. We hit up the rooftop pool mid morning Sunday AM and had the place to ourselves. Great relaxing stay with funky twists added on.

All excellent but quite far from downtown

The service is so detailed here at the Emma. When you arrive you are given welcome tokens, for free cocktails in the library. Turndown service with sleep kits, water, and macaroons. So many restaurants nearby that you can walk to.

Disappointing and not worth the $.

This hotel is fabulous upon entry with a great lobby, old artifacts and lots of history. All staff was helpful and friendly. Then we went to the room. NOT an $800 room. Extremely small. No room to move around, very few outlets, uncomfortable bed and no view( that we paid for). Disappointing and won’t be returning.

Hotel Emma is my absolute favorite hotel. From the staff to the rooms to the location to the sheets, Emma is impeccable. All the staff members we encountered were friendly, conversational and a delight. This time around we also brought friends (for their 20-year anniversary) and they loved it as much as we did. I'm jealous of anyone who gets to experience Hotel Emma for the first time.

Our anniversary trip to the Hotel Emma was wonderful! The original Pearl Brewery has been beautifully restored into the Hotel Emma. Our room was gorgeous and the Hotel Supper on onsite bar were fantastic. The staff is top notch!

A nicely done redo of the Pearl Brewery... free self parking .. a little on the pricey side but a nice one night splurge!!

Everything they offered at Hotel Emma was unique. From room design with mexican inspired furniture to little details like sleep kits with amazing room spray and delicious macaroons from Bakery Lorraine with turndown service. We will always remember the incredible entrance/lobby, food, and wonderful staff service. The library they have was great to visit with their signature margarita, and everything was walking distance to other shops and restaurants which was lovely. We definitely enjoyed our honeymoon stay, and we look forward to going there to celebrate other events 😀 😊.

Wonderful unique hotel. Love the history and feel of this South Texas urban hotel. Fun area around the hotel that includes the River Walk and delicious restaurants like Mon Cho Cho and Bakery Lorraine.

Need to work on hospitality!

Great facilities but their service is lacking. They wouldn’t seat us at in the bar until our full party was available? Meanwhile they let scummily dressed people come in off the street and fill up the bar. Wow, not a very inviting way to treat you paying guests!

It was an amazing experience. Would definitely stay again.
