The customer service at Hotel Emaus is above and beyond. My questions or requests were answered within minutes and upon arrival the staff was extremely flexible and accommodating about early check in. They went out of their way to take care of us and both of our stays have been exceptional. The location is fantastic, lots to see and do in the neighbourhood and very safe. Will definitely be going back.
We had an excellent stay at hotel Emaus. Staff were super friendly. They didn't speak a lot of English, but they were super patient with our limited Spanish and we got to improve our language skills. The room was spacious and full of character, the beds were super firm, comfortable and did not squeak or have loose headboards. The shower took a while to heat up but had a lot of pressure which is a rare luxury in South America in my experience. Breakfast was a la carte, but plentiful and varied enough that we didn't have the same thing twice over our 4 day stay. It was also hearty and delicious and had that home made quality to it that you crave after a few days traveling. The location was great - an interesting and safe neighborhood filled with high end restaurants, dessert spots and brunch places. It's not near the touristy area of La Candelaria but it gives you a taste of how the upper middle crust lives. Overall highly recommended!
Great convenient and not too expensive.
Super kind and accommodating staff. Decent hot breakfast. Close to lots of shops and restaurants. Huge room. Lots of space for our bikes. Comfy bed. Huge bathtub for soaking-two if us fit in it. Hot water. Recommended for sure.
Love the place, great staff also includes breakfast. Complete breakfast. Very safe.
Great location, nice staff, a bit of noise from the street very early in the morning
Very nice stay, very peaceful and quiet. Clean and great breakfast in our room
I will very please with the services and we will be back.
2nd stay at Hotel Emaus - GREAT!
This was our second time staying at the Hotel Emaus and we would recommend it very highly. The room was very spacious with fun artwork, comfortable bed, service excellent, room service for breakfast, nice sitting area on 2nd floor with bar, and location is perfect with many choices of restaurants within a block or two, and I love the bright yellow color of the hotel.
Will stay again, cant be beat for the price.
Overall, great stay for the price. The room was great, check in was great, breakfast was basic. The area is great, full with restaurants and very central. Cant beat for the price, will stay again.
Excellent value for a great stay in Chapinero area. The staff was friendly and helpful with our requests. Definitely book one of the suites. The room and bathroom are spacious! We only stayed one night but would definitely book again when in Bogota!
This property was so bad, it stank so badly I had a migraine. In fact, I left after being there for 5 minutes and asked Expedia for a refund. Do NOT stay at this property for any reason.
Great location within the Gourmet Zone of the city.
A good choice in Bogotá
This is a very nice place at a reasonable cost. The staff were helpful and the room was very nice. We were in the back, so the street noise was not bad, though that can be a bit of an issue in this neighborhood. The location is very convenient to "Zona G" restaurants and all that; my Bogotá favorite, Harry's, is right down the street.
Very well located hotel in the gourmet zone of Bogota
Good price. Good area. Clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly
Great location and value. Been there before and would use again. Can be a bit noisy in the morning.
A nice and comfortable place
Very good experience. Good locations and services. The room was very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Wifi works also very well.
Nice hotel, great location
I had a very good experience at the Hotel Emaus. The staff were very helpful and kind. I loved the original artwork in the common areas and in my room. It was located close to good restaurants and night life, and not too far from the historic Candelaria neighborhood or other must see locations. The room was very clean and confortable.
A conveniently located and priced hotel
Clean room, good service (especially Reception and Breakfast staff). Very reasonably priced. No restaurant at the hotel (only breakfast is served), but the area around the hotel is safe and full of excellent restaurants.
An Oasis in Bogota
If you are looking for a hotel where the staff treat you WELL, this is it. We stayed two nights, did some traveling and decided to call them up and book a room for the remainder of our time in Colombia. Excellent service.
Very nice stay!
Great hotel. Very cute and unique, with friendly staff. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the soaps smelled great. The Terrace is especially cute and a great place to grab a drink or get some air.
Nice and cozy little hotel in a nice area.
Good value option
Chosen mostly for the area, served it's purpose. Staff were excellent (even though many were very new), very helpful, room was comfortable if a little hot at night. Good breakfast.
Safe central value for money hotel
Very good value for money hotel in Bogota - in the financial district. The family of four all enjoyed staying there, with helpful and polite employees. Very nice restaurants in short walking distance. SAFE!!
They turned the restaurant into a cozy living room
I've stayed at the Emaus many times. This time they turned the dining room into a living room. No tables no chairs. Just lounge, sofas and cocktail tables. Crazy!! If you go, be prepared to order room service.
Marisela- I had a great time, the hotel was excellent. I have absolutely no complaints, friendly staff, nice area, taxi downtown is about 11,000 cop which is 4 USD and a taxi to Zona T is about 7,000 cop which is about 2.50 USD (I walked there, it was kinda long but I like walking). Breakfast was great you can choose between their daily options and it comes with fresh juice and coffee or tea. If you have any questions the staff is more than happy to help. If your friends are making you worried about Colombia (which is amazing and has an outdated and unfair reputation), stay in here, it is a perfectly safe neighborhood where you can walk to a super nice restaurants. The area is called Zona G for a reason, it is known for its gastronomy. Or if like me you like something more casual, walk down a few blocks and grab some quick options on carrera 5 wok, burgers, quesadillas, ice cream.
Nice Boutique Hotel
I liked the hotel. Upon check-in I was shown to a standard room when I had paid for a suite. They fixed the problem immediately and I was shown to my suite. For the price and the area I thought the value was good. I decided to stay a bit longer and rebooked the same room via Hotels.com but when I mentioned to the front desk they told me the room had already been booked. I was forced to cancel my reservation and look elsewhere for my extended stay. Not sure if this is a Hotels.com issue or a hotel issue but it was frustrating. I had planned on a paid tour the next day but instead had to find a new place to stay. This is the main issue with using Hotels.com app. There seems to be a lack of communication between hotels and the hotels.com app. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me. Aside from this, I'd stay there again. The hotel said to contact them directly for a better price next time. Breakfast was good but the same every day. For an extended stay this could get tiresome. Staff was nice and I'd consider staying here again while I'm in Bogota. That said, I would only stay in the suite as the standard rooms aren't anything special. Road noise is high and sound travels in the stairwell. Room 401 was good though.
Good hotel
Excelente location, great staf, good price. You have a lot to do, great bars and good cuality restorants. The staf is great.
Great place, great location. Definitely recommend and will stay again.
Hotel Emaus
This Hotel is in an excellent area. The staff at the desk are kind, and helpful. The hotel is clean. Now the disappointing stuff from our visit. To get into the tub is a very large step up, and then drop down into a deep tub, with no handrail..it was rather hazardous. The shower hose was leaking so more water coming out from the leak in the hose, than the shower head. The bathroom only had 2 hand towels and 2 bath towels, and a mat. One day they didn't put the towels in. One day the bed was made, but the wet towels from our morning shower were still in the bottom of the tub crumpled up and wet.The blow dryer attached to the wall was broken. One day they forgot the glass for drinking, one day the cook did not show up at 7 to make the included breakfast. (we had to be somewhere meeting someone so we depended on the breakfast being on time.) One day my cell phone charger was gone from the room.I went to the desk to ask about it, and the cleaner had it in her pocket. We did answer an email from Expedia about our satisfaction, and that night we received an email from the hotel manager that he would change us to a suit on the last night. After 6 nights, the last night hardly matters, we were going out for the day and evening. Nice gesture, but rather late. As we checked out, we did not understand the lady at the desk telling us we needed to pay something for insurance. We told her we did not know this from Expedia, and in the end she left it alone.
Great location
Within walking distance to many amazing restaurants. Small hotel, cozy, clean, comfortable, spacious rooms (501). Very friendly and helpful staff. Will go back for sure!
Not so good this time
The elevator was not working when I checked in. Glad I only had a backpack to walk upstairs. When I woke up there was no energy. Had to take a bath and shave in full darkness. Power company was replacing a transformer in the area. But the hotel shd have emergency power.
Great location, but early morning traffic
I stayed for 7 nights on a business trip. Hotel is in great location in 'zona G' - gastronomy area. Comfortable and friendly. But its on a main road where traffic starts at 5.30am so i was woken too early every morning. There are a couple of rooms that are not facing the traffic (most are at front or side so disturbed by noise), so not much chance of getting these. Room was cold at night - no heating and lots of drafts.
Gringo Travels
Strong dollar makes for affordable luxury & über too. Great neighborhood for walking, restaurants, bakeries. Too high for Zika, but @ 8,600' it does slow you down a bit.
The Exceptional Hotel Emaus
I had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Emaus in Bogota Colombia(ZONA-G) and it was exceptional beginning with the incredible Manager, John, who in my opinion should train customer service personnel in every venue possible. The interest from staff regarding your contentment was so out of the ordinary that at moments I thought was too good to be true, I must confess it was both genuine and real. Upon my late night/early morning arrival, I was provided with awesome service and info in preparation of my New Years visit.
Recently Remodeled Hotel
Rooms are small, if you get the large rooms, they do not have AC. Are is good, walked out at night without any issues. Very close to restaurants and Bars. taxi will arrive in within a few minutes. Drive to the Airport, without heavy traffic is about 1-1.2 hrs.
Nice small hotel
Emaus is a nice boutique hotel with helpful and friendly staff in a great location. The only drawback are the noisy stairwell which conducts sound straight into the rooms.
EXPENSIVE
I paid my stay COMPLETELY before travelling. They charged me 20 dollars daily for taxes at checking out, never mentioned at check in or in the web page.
Nice Hotel, Good Food, close to restaurants.
Very nice hotel, close to many restaurants, nice neighborhood.
Bogota
great hotel but... wifi was slow and noise between the rooms was pretty loud.
Very nice hotel and location.
Very good stay. Very nice, friendly and efficient staff. Lovely breakfasts in a covered terrace were a nice way to start the day. Did not like that I was charged hotel insurance at the end of my stay, without being forewarned.
Excellent Personalized Service
We stayed four days and had a very good time there. The hotel is very well situated and it's also very comfortable.
Nice location close to Gourmet area
Covenient location, excelent cost benefit relation, and frienly staff.
Good location
The hotel is in a good location. It is a Ho-Jo, even though they have dropped the name so one can get a sense of the quality and type of rooms. The staff is very friendly and will go out of its way to help. It would be a good tourist stay but I would not recommend it for business travel -- $ for $ you would get a much better experience at any of the comparable hotels in the same neighborhood, or even 1-2 miles away.
No estaba abierto el hotel y aun asi me cobraron el cuarto y a la fecha no responden
Bra och liten familjer hotell. Det känns lite för gammal och kallt på nätterna. I övrig helt ok
Extremely damp and moist!!
The hotel looks nice, the service is good, facilities clean and the location exellent. BUT, and this is a really big but, there is absolutely no form of ventilation in the bathroom which makes the room extremely damp and moist at all times. There are lots of signs of mold and moisture damages to the room and bathroom. It was incredibly hard to sleep in such a damp environment. It just got worse every day, and we felt like it was hard to breath normally in the room. We had a room on the second floor, with a balcony, the only way to ventilate the room was to keep the door to the balcony open. But since it was on the second floor it wouldn't have been to hard to climb up to the balcony, which meant that we could not sleep with the door open. And worst of all, it was not possible to lock this balcony door! So we were afraid of leaving anything valuable in the room at all times.
Muy atentos en la recepción! Solo que el servicio de pieza no cumplió lo esperado! Las 3 noches olvidaron toallas! (?)
Todo estuvo muy bien. Volvere a hospedarme cuando regrese a Bogota
The size of room is great. Television didn’t work properly, without an extra heater, thanks to the receptionist, it would have been a freezing cold night and noise in the morning travelled straight to my room. Breakfast superb!
