Staff helpful and friendly
Nice hotel, good value, pretty central.
Decent location, short 15 min walk to the Old Town. Large room and nice to have a balcony. Bathroom was modern with good shower.
Nice location, room was clean (walls a bit thin but not an issue). Helpful staff
External doors didn’t lock, air con didn’t work, receptionist was not welcoming or helpful, breakfast was basic but it was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bedding was really nice, the shower was good and it was incredibly cheap.
Nice and clean! Good stuff and very kind. Walkable to the city centre, so is very convenient.
Basic hotel. Breakfast was not that good. Really horrible coffee machine.
Reception was friendly and paid €10 for early check-in. Room was clean, some wall fixtures and toilet door were was ripped, nothing a quick fix won't do. All in all, happy with the price we paid.
Thank you.
I stayed for 2 nights in June 2024. Staff were absolutely great and always helpful. Room was clean and well equipped. I had a terrace that was also quite nice. All in all, experience was great and will visit again.
Only 1 Mexican restaurant nearby. Aircon just managed after leaving on all day. Bed light switch faulty so I had to pull globe out. Breakfast was Ok. Subway 12 min walk away
It was very pleasant stay. And stuff was very friendly
An ok stay for a few days
Walls super thin other guests kept us awake, no milk for the tea and coffee. Mould on the sink. Rooms quite small. Staff friendly and good location
Well located
Well located, reasonably priced hotel. The economy room is a little small but had everything we needed including a fridge which is great. Breakfast was simple but catered for all tastes. Staff were friendly.
Love it.
No air conditioning, no change for cash payments
Hotel itself would have been comfortable - but - they had turned the air conditioning off, claiming it as ‘broken’ to all the members of our small tour group. Later as we checked out the desk clerk said it had been turned off for the ‘winter’. Our stay was in Sept with temps in the mid to high ‘80s. Even with a fan, it was still uncomfortably hot. Breakfast, while good, was quite expensive by Bucharest standards. (40 Ron per person) Front desk *never* had change for cash payments, instructing guests to go down the street to a grocery store to get change.l in order to pay small charges. We stayed in much more accommodating lodgings during our 2 weeks in Romania. Not recommended.
Hotel Duke Armeneasca
The first night we noticed that the air conditioning was not working. Reception told us that they were waiting for a part to fix it. It was not fixed during our 5 day stay. A fan was provided.
AC was not working when we arrived but the receptionist (Santosh) made sure that we were provided with a fan. On our return where we had 3 nights, as the AC was not working still, Santosh arranged for us to be upgraded to a room with a balcony that allowed more air through. Some noise from traffic and the adjacent tram route, which starts early! All the staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Santosh. The cleaning staff kept everything very clean. A good breakfast. A short walk from the old town but good value compared to more expensive hotels in the old town.
The breakfast selection was very poor, and cold, the coffee was not very good with the machine not working too well, I wanted bed and breakfast, I just wanted a room which was comfortable and the room was, the breakfast really was a terrible let down and for that reason I wouldn’t go back
I liked: the variety at breakfast. This seems to be expected in Romania, I have encountered it elsewhere too, but this is a small hotel. There were vegetables to go with the egg -- GREAT! there were olives, tapenade, .... on the side. There were the sliced tomatos and cucumbers, plenty of them. And fruit. The terrace room! There is only one of it. The balconies. Bathroom was not cramped -- quite spacious.
Stayed in hotel twice in 5 days . 1st room was to compact and kept turn shower off when turn round as too small. Ai cooler was very poor sweating all night
Nice little hotel
The room was a great size and very clean, breakfast was decent ut no normal tea as i dont drink coffee.only problem with the hotel air control not cold enough . Staff freindly and in a good location from train station
.
Very quiet and comfortable room. Breakfast provided over an extensive time. i.e. 7am - 11am Very accommodating regarding check out.
Good location. The write up on the Hotel stated twice that they had laundry facilities and in-house laundry. There were NO laundry facilities? They should not be advertising that they have them
Great location and fab breakfast.
We were very pleased with this hotel. Location is good, only about five mins from the Metro and fifteen from the old town. Good staff, very friendly, great breakfast everything you could want and a decent sized bedroom with small balcony. Would happily recommend.
Good breakfast with very good bread. Staff are very friendly. Not far from the old town at a good price. Bed was uncomfortable and noise from the street made it difficult to get a good nights sleep. Overall good for a short stay.
Short stay
This is my second time at this hotel and it won’t be the last. The hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is very clean and central.
Nice little hotel. Nothing special but good overall
We were treated VERY well at this hotel. Everything was clean - breakfast was tasty - staff was helpful. We enjoyed our stay. One word of caution, and it is no fault of the hotel's - some taxi drivers are a bit sketchy. There are two Hotel Dukes in town. They will always take you to the other one "by mistake" - even when you tell them the address of the Hotel Duke you are staying at. Best to use Bolt or Uber.
Very nice rooms. Breakfast is OK. Staff is extremely friendly. Location is OK, but requires walking to sites.
Nice hotel
Nice hotel. Bathroom/ shower are very nice. TV has lots of channels. Bed is comfortable. Great breakfast. Friendly, efficient staff. Recommended
Bucharest Stay
Desk clerks were very helpful. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Good location. Quiet.
Happy with stay
Nice room and clean (thanks to daily housekeeping — make up beds, mop floor, replenish loo roll, etc.). Inclusive breakfast was OK and staff were friendly. Hotel is pretty close to old town, but its immediate surrounding area isn’t the best.
everything was nice, best value for money
They broke my ring and changed me to stay and 35 bucks more for who knows why and can't reach them to find out
Good Nice
Clean and modern room, friendly staff and excellent location.
Very good
It is good and worth for the price. Staffs were nice and helpful .
Really liked this hotel for our stay in Bucharest, it is well located and easy to find! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing too with many romanian treats to have!!
Impressive and in great location!
The staff were very helpful, friendly and welcoming and the hotel had good amenities. The location is perfect because it's just 10 min walk from the center of the city! Also the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Overall for the price we payed I was impressed.
Nice staff, quick and painless check in/out, clean room.
nice hotel to stay at
great value for money, lovely and helpful staff, briliant location
Great place to stay
Great little room, good shower. Adequate breakfast. Friendly staff. Good value for money. Highly recommend.
Access to the city and key sites, staff friendly and helpful
Everything was good apart from the WiFi constantly cutting out or very poor.
good location close to the sightseeing .the manager is very kind friendly to us and give us many good suggestions so we can easily find good restaurants and markets and railway station.
10 דקות ברגל מהעיר העתיקה, סה"כ שווה את המחיר, חדרים נעימים נקיים
i thought the hotel was good fora short stay and the staff were very friendly. The only downside for me was cleanliness of the room
Friendly desk. Decent street parking for downtown. Easy walk to old town. Nice and quiet.
cerage
I was expecting something nicer for the price but it was okay.
Good
Stayed for 2 nights. The restaurant was closed the first time however breakfast was available on the property. The rooms were clean. Bathrooms were sanitary. Check in was quick and easy. Overall good place.
Lovely little hotel. Cheap, so it's a no thrills kind of place but perfectly comfortable, quiet. Cheap Uber ride into central Bucharest. Would recommend.
Good place to stay.
Good location, good breakfast, good service.
Good location.
The hotel is calm with good location close to the city center.
Decent room in an area conducive to exploring on foot. My room wasnt cleaned my second full day but not. Huge deal. Bed was super comfy. Helpful staff with gresr suggestions and assistance.
I like the place, the room, the staff and the price
Fair offer for the price, excellent location, clean room, great shower.
Arrival at hotel was not the best. No greeting from reception staff very unfriendly. We were also given wrong room I had booked a deluxe one. Not the best start however it was sorted out pretty quickly. Wall lights beside bed were not working, the safe needed new batteries and the heat in bedroom was unbelievable the first night. Again problem was rectified quite quickly when we told reception. Hotel staff need to be alot friendlier!
Nice enough place, 15 minute walk from old town, decent price but WiFi was sketchy and the A/C was not working so we had a couple of uncomfortable nights-presumably they are going to get that sorted.
not bad for the price
A clean hotel and clean room but everything was very outdated and situated in a nice quiet neighborhood A decent breakfast and very helpful desk clerks also within walking distance to old town about 10 minutes away
Good location.
Change Hotel
We had to change hotel as the room has no air and was very suffocating, very bad for breathing. We would have fallen sick. The hotel staff did not assist after repeated complaints and escalations. Even the manager did not meet or spoke to us after we made repeated request. We thus left the hotel and moved to another one.
Good Location for Exploring Bucharest
Tempo was in a good location. It was an easy walk to various attractions and to different parts of Bucharest. The room had adequate storage space. However, we found that the space between the one side of the bed and the wall was quite limited. The one wall had a huge wall mirror which could be a safety issue if you happen to bump into it due to the limited space. We enjoyed the small balcony outside our room. The breakfast was excellent - good variety and nutritious. We don't know if it was the language barrier, but we found that most of the staff at the front desk were not very welcoming or friendly.
I enjoyed my stay at Tempo Hotel. It is the sort of hotel that I prefer when travelling and staying in hotels. Positioned in a quiet street and the room was very cosy with a lovely balcony. Withing walking distance to the city centre. I would definitely book a room in Tempo hotel if visiting Bucharest again.
Really nice hotel in the heart of the city
We really enjoyed staying there, the staff was really friendly and helpful, the breakfast delicious. The bathroom was a little too small but we got around this.
Very comfortable and clean, a bit out of the main
Very clean room comfortable bed. The hotel is located about 10 minutes out of the main area, but it is a safe walk.
Nice hotel close to old town
This is a nice and clean hotel close to the old town, just a 10-minute walk. Room was small but enough for me. Breakfast was good. I appreciate the possibility of having fried eggs or an omelette. Staff is nice. They help me with directions to get to the old town and to the bank. I would definitely stay at Tempo Hotel if I return to Bucharest in the future.
Nice hotel close to old town
Hotel is located in a quite area. The old town is in a walking distance (15 min). Breakfast is fine. You can ask the ladies in charge of organizing breakfast to prepare an omelette or fried eggs for you. Overall, a very good experience.
Nothing fancy, but it did the job.
I stayed four nights during my first time in Bucuresti, and I was completely happy with the hotel. The staff were very nice, especially the ones working the serviceable breakfast. The room was fine, no issues at all, although the shower stall was a bit small (so typical). The location is fine, close to the central University metro station but not in the center of the city, more of a residential neighborhood, and a fairly nice one for walking around. No complaints, just what I wanted.
nice hotel good location and great stuff
10 minutes walk to the old city we enjoyed our stay there for 4 nights very helpful stuff good service and great price everything was perfect
Nice and clean little hotel! We enjoyed our stay very much.
Ok hotel about 20 minutes to old town
Hotel located in an area that's not very appealing, about 20 minutes walk to the old town. Continental breakfast plus a choice of fried eggs or omelette. Staff were friendly.
Nice hotel, clean and friendly staff. Only thing that bothered us was the noise coming in from the main road nearby, at night-it was quite loud. However, I would recommend it
Friendly and reliable
We've used this hotel before when we've stayed in Bucharest because its friendly reliable clean and welcoming.
Great well priced hotel
Really nice visit. Early checkin wasn't a problem and the room was great, spotlessly clean and breakfast was good too, would Definetly stay again
Quiet hotel near all sercices
When I go to Bucharest (since 2010) I stay at Tempo hotel.
Great hotel, close to the best places to visit.
Clean room friendly staff, best place to stay. Close to historical Bucharest where all the best restaurants are.
A good location
Good room size and good location. The hotel is just fine for a couple of days stay. Did not have breakfast but we had a bottle of wine as a welcome drink!
Great Hotel
We stayed in room 405 which has the biggest balcony I've ever seen; must be lovely to sit out on during the warm weather. The room itself was well proportioned, clean and nicely designed. Staff were friendly and the continental breakfast plentiful. It was only a 10 minute walk up to University Square and there's also great restaurant (Nesam 2) at the top of the road, plus a supermarket right across the street. We would stay again.
Great hotel with fabulous staff. Small room but perfect for solo trip. Will return!
Nice, clean and well situated hotel!
We would recommend Tempo Hotel!
Pleasant staff. Clean room, peaceful neibourhood. Would recommend it !
Great hotel for exploring the city.
This hotel is in a central location for exploring both old town and the city centre, particularly if you are ok with walking. The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and the rooms are small but have everything you need as you don't spend much time in them anyway. A good choice at breakfast with omelettes as an option freshly made by the staff. All in all there are dearer hotels in the city centre but this one is great for the price.
Perfect for a couple on vacation
Perfect stay for my wife and I! The building is quant and very well maintained. The best part of the experience was by far the staff members. The staff was extremely helpful across the board. I would definitely stay at Tempo hotel again.
very good breakfast (eg omelette)
Very nice hotel, great location, extremely friendly staff.
Very decent
The first thing you should know is that the hotel is right on a tram line. For some, this could be disruptive to their sleep, and not that convenient since if you're visiting, you'll probably just use taxis and metro. I personally found the odd 'thunk' of it strangely comforting, so it didn't bother me - I was on the 2nd floor, a friend was on the 6th I believe and said it wasn't as audible. My single room was nice, clean, with a lovely balcony but with good light blocking curtains. The bed was firm, but comfortable. The only thing I'd complain about was the slightly odd shower which was a bit idiosyncratic and the doors were falling off their runners a bit. The desk clerk was extremely helpful, and gave some excellent advice for a trip to Peles palace. They were also very helpful in getting a cab to the airport. The hotel was a great value for the money, the room was nice, and it was a great location right in the heart of things. However, if you're a light sleeper the tram might be annoying.
Good value,good location
Friendly staff, comfortable room, excellent bottle complimentary wine. Bucharest is a fine city worthy of a few days exploring.
A good night
Close to downtown and easy to access, it was a lovely hotel. The person at the reception desk was friendly and made the check-in quickly. The room was clean and with everything we needed, including some sleepers for when you get out from the shower. The amenities were comfortable and we had a good night sleep. The breakfast was very good and they offer us scramble eggs but we stayed with the local variety of meats and cheeses, fresh orange juice and coffee.
Good value for money
Good location, nice breakfast, and an affordable price. Avoid the overpriced big name hotels and save your money by staying at this lovely hotel.
Nice hotel - great value for money
This was the 6th time my wife and I have stayed here. Each time for about a week. Comfortable rooms and a nice breakfast each morning. Location is central. Approximately, a 10 min walk to the nearest metro stop (University) and a 15 min walk to the Old Town.
Stay for three nights mid February
I stayed for three nights in Mid February. I had some doubts about coming here, but they quickly subsided upon arrival. The staff were very friendly and helpful upon request, always taking the time to point out good restaurants/places to go etc with a lot of care. The room itself was definitely big enough for any normal couple. The TV had a vast amount of channels in English. The AC very good, although not sure if the fridge was really cold (but this didn't matter as you could just put things outside). The location may be questionable, but in reality it is about 10/15 minutes walk to all of the shops/restaurants/bars and shouldn't really be much of a concern. Cleaners were very attentive and probably the only downside to this hotel (despite it being of 4 star quality in almost every respect), is the shower is a bit hard to function and does not really have a strong stream of water. The other potential downside is the breakfast, but admittedly I did not have it I just took a look and thought it looked a bit 'simple' especially for 10 Euros per person. But these were really not big issues and everything else was absolutely superb and great for the price. I would highly recommend.
Amazing stay and breakfast
Amazing stay and breakfast
Other guests might have better experience
Every time I plugged anything into an electrical outlet in Room 604, it blew a fuse and the electricity went off in the entire hotel. So they moved me to Room 601, and plugging things in still blew a fuse, although apparently only for my room or my floor and not the entire hotel. On a Wednesday morning, I left laundry to be done, they said next morning, but when I got to the front desk late Thursday afternoon, my laundry was not back and they had to rush to find it and figure it out. It was obvious the hotel staff had completely forgotten about my laundry. I finally got it about 8 p.m. Thursday. Other than these two ridiculous situations, the hotel is quite fine otherwise. (I did not eat the overpriced breakfast.)
Very pleasant hotel and very much worth the price
Very pleasant stay - very Nice room and so Nice toi be welcomes With wine! A bit noisy though!
A good place to stay as a tourist
Convenient to the centre of the city and a few minutes walk to the Metro (about 10 minutes). Good breakfast with the bonus of eggs cooked to order. Comfortable and clean
Average
Nothing outstanding except the breakfast. Hotel rooms were very hot.
Great location
Great location and very very nice staff however there was a lot of noise that I could hear from outside all night as the windows were only signal glazed.
