We chose this hotel for a quick one night stay to stab into Valley of the Temples park just 3 minutes away first thing in the morning, which we did. We found the room on the small side. The air conditioner seemed to run with odd intermittent noises. Our main issue was with the shower. First, the doors slid apart from the center on tracks as in a closet, but one door was so off-track, it was hanging on 1 of 4 rollers. I was able to get the top two back on track, but the bottom two needed tools. The second issue was the faucet handle was dead center on the long wall right where the showeree would stand--and it was a pullout handle, not a turn knob, not two or three knobs, a handle that juts into the action zone. Talking about thoughtless design, then add my gurthiness, it was an unpleasant dance in deed. I can't speak about all their rooms, but I would ask that they review this design flaw. Overall we slept well and we're able to accomplish our tourist objectives. I want to point out our wonderful experience eating dinner at Pizzeria Mythos Nella Valle--their food is tremendous and tasty. Great family run restaurant with high integrity. Five minutes walk from hotel. Nevermind the lower rating...their food is the real deal!
Clean hotel close to Valley of the Temples
An average hotel that has seen better days
An average hotel. We picked it because it was close to the sites and we were there for one night. This hotel has seen better days. It looked very sad and worn out. It needs a makeover. The bed was hard but big. Big is a plus. The view was good. Location perfect. The linens, bed comforter, towels were all old and worn. The hotel was empty of guests and we were upgraded to a larger room with balcony which was definitely a plus. It seemed the large breakfast buffet was put out for only us as we saw no one at breakfast and before we were barely done, it was all put away.
Conveniently located short drive from Valley of the Temples and museum, with free convenient parking. Nicely landscaped.
I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Overall I was content with it and thought it good value for money. It is located mid way between Agrigento town and the Valley of the Temples. It is possible to walk to both, but only if you have good mobility. The grounds of the hotel are very nice and having access to a pool in August, in Agrigento, is the main reason I booked this hotel. My room was dated, the sheets and bathroom were clean but the rest of the room's cleanliness was questionable. I did not unpack my clothes for that reason. The restaurant on site is ok for lunch but go elsewhere for dinner; there are better and cheaper options within walking distance. Breakfast was also ok. The front desk staff here are excellent. Answered all questions and arranged for taxis to San Leone, I believe they have a shuttle service too, but I did not use that service. I had to get an early morning bus to Catania, the bus stop is only 1.5km away but not walkable with luggage, so they assisted me in booking a taxi for 6am. The taxi did not show, which was very stressful. The gentleman at the front desk saved the day and drove me himself. Thanks to him, I arrived to the bus stop just in time. I would recommend this hotel for it's mid way location between the town and the Valley, but only if you are able to walk 20-25 minutes uphill into the centre of Agrigento. The town itself is very pretty and should not be missed.
Very satisfied
I won’t join the quibbling over whether this is truly a four-star hotel, but for the price I was quite satisfied with the facilities and location, and the staff couldn’t have been more pleasant and hospitable. Also, the parking is free and easily accessible, a benefit not to be underestimated when traveling by car in these parts.
Excellent property. Beautiful grounds/pool. Very relaxing. Electric bike rentals on property handy.
This is a very low quality hotel that should be a 3 stars hotel. It does have a very nice garden, nice pool and comfortable restaurant. However, the entrance of the hotel and the rooms are more close to 3 or 2 stars
Really nice hotel, very friendly staff. Lovely pool area. Well located for valley of the temples. Nice breakfast.
close to valley of temples easy access to town center and restarants
Far from the valley of temples
Paid extra for a Deluxe room which we were told that had a view of the temple but the distance is very far so you can barely see it. Very good pool area and friendly staff. Bed was very hard and uncomfortable to sleep in. Somewhat happy with the stay though.
Nice staff, easy free parking, beautiful grounds with easy access to historic sights. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite because the hotel was full. Excellent breakfast.
We shopped for a full service hotel with parking. The parking was technically street parking. The room was dated, but clean. While showering in the morning, the power went out. We quickly packed up and left and reported it to the front desk. They told us the power was out in the entire area, except they seemed to have power in their lobby. When we asked if they could comp the couple of beers we had, the clerk said we should have called reception and he would have fixed it, so NO. I don't recommend.
Very friendly and helpful hotel staff. Really made us feel welcome. Got a room with great view of temples. Thank you.
Management and staff, Giovanni and Antonio and Mohamed polite and friendly. Lovely food in the restaurant and amazing grounds and swimming pool. Thank you for a lovely stay.
The gentleman at the reception desk was so friendly and helpful. He went out of his way to ask about our day, our travels and made easy conversation with us. Not something that happens so often any more. He truly understood hospitality.
No internet
Hotel ok, the intetnet-wifi was extremely slow on thd brink of being useless
Grounds are nice with view of temples. The pool is nice, however, must wear a shower cap and pay for it if you don't have one. On the theme of nickle and diming, they also make you pay for towels used at the pool and cut out the A/C in the middle of the night (possibly to save $ or simply because it is unreliable). Breakfast was also subpar. Overall, nice scenery, but the hotel management kills the vibe.
The location proximity to the temples the views and nice staff
Choice of evening meals was limited and expensive compared to local restaurants.
Well located near valley of temples but otherwise unremarkable. Rooms are dated and breakfast buffet was very weak. A/C not working and spotty WiFi were definite downers.
Ok room. Ok bathroom. Good breakfast. Free parking.
Terrible check in experience - porting rain and no bell staff. Had to park across a busy street at dusk in the rain and walk our baggage to the hotel. Once inside they had to keep our passports because they could not make copies. The elevators barely worked. The room had cockroaches in the bathroom and ants as well. The bed filled the entire space of the room. The room next door had a barking dog and a loud tv. Stay away from this place.
The room was a reasonable size and comfortable, it was the grounds which were spectacular with evening views of the Valley of Temples. Breakfast was pleasant and a good variety of food.
Within easy access to the Valley of the Temples
Nice hotel with wonderful lush grounds and excellent swimming pool. Hotel reception staff very helpful as was the gentleman serving at the outside bar. Restaurant and food good quality. My only small criticism was that parking is on the street opposite. The grounds are very extensive and it is a shame that space for cars cannot be made there. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay and an easy journey to the amazing Valley of the Temples.
The property is beautiful and the rooms are spacious. close to Valley of the Temples. Parking is a bit challenging. Staff was not friendly and did not want to be bothered helping the guests. Pool closes early and you have to wear a swimming cap.
Just okay, small room no iron. absolutely not a 4 star.
Never miss big swimming pool~
Room is clean with wooden floor. Close to the attractions, the temples. You can park the car around the hotels. Hotel is located higher with a view to the sea. Climax is the big swimming pool with tropical trees in the garden.
Short Stop in Agrigento
Comfortable room, if a little dated. Bathroom clean, good shower & hair drier. Wifi was very slow - don't bother unless you have no data left. Not there long enough to use any other facilities. Easy nearby parking. Located between town centre and the main archeaological sites.
Hotel close to Valley of Temples
The Hotel's parking was very easy to access, the room was clean and spacious and the internet was very reliable. The Temple of Apollo was visible from the room. Breakfast was diverse and plentiful and the servers brought specialty coffees upon request. Dinner caters to the many tour groups staying at the Hotel and one day of the fixed menu was sufficient (there is also a limited a la carte option). There are other restaurants within walking distance nearby. One could easily walk to the archeological museum and the hotel provided a map. Day two I drove to the far end of the valley near the Temple of Apollo and parked there (easy) and walked towards the museum.
Gret hotel, Superb Location
I stayed one evening to visit the Valley of the Temples. The staff was very friendly, the hotel was within walking distance of the attraction as well as many restaurant options.
Chaos from check in to check out.
First I must say the rooms are clean. They couldn't find my reservation then after I showed them the confirmation, they agreed to check me in. The air con doesn't go below 25C so you can't make the room cold. The breakfast room was dirty and we had to wait until they cleaned a table even though it wasn't busy. The staff doesn't look happy nor seems to want to do their job.
Average & over priced
Very tired over priced hotel. The gardens need a clean, breakfast was very average. Not sure if there was a reason (ie conference) but the price was incredibly steep for what we got.
Not 4 star
Booked a junior suite for the balcony but could not use it because of the fumes emanating from the centrally controlled air conditioning. Chambermaids cleaned room whilst at breakfast with do not disturb sign on the door. Toilet bowl on outside was not clean which was only noticed on our last morning. Would of been a waste of time reporting anything to the front desk staff apart from one young man as the rest of the staff( owners ?) were unhelpful and curt. Eaten alive at the swimming pool so all in all not a great experience. The food in the restaurant was ok and breakfast was adequate but on one occasion difficult to find a table as this hotel is used by tour groups and business conference groups. Agrigento is short on half decent hotels either top end near the Valley of the Temples but a long way from town or B&B in town.
I enjoyed staying at this hotel even though it was only for one night. The views of the temples from the hotel were spectacular -- especially at night. I wish I had another day to stay there since I would have liked to take advantage of the pool and the beautiful grounds surrounding.
Close to the Valley of Temples with free parking
We arrived at around 17:00 and parked in their open parking space across the street. Check in was smooth and room was nice and clean. The location is also convenient being right in between the centro and the Valley. The only downside was that the TV next door was quite audible and that lasted 'til 2 am - be prepared for possible noise from the adjacent rooms. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay and wish we could stay longer to try the swimming pool which looked pretty large.
Convenient if you have a car. Nice swimming pool
This hotel should not have a 4* rating. The room we stayed in was small, had a damp musty smell. The check in was a bit chaotic and we discovered we had been allocated an economy room with no breakfast included. The hotel staff did nothing to rectify this. The swimming pool was nice but no towels provided at the pool. It was obligatory to wear a swimming cap but charge 2 euros for one, it seemed to be a money making exercise. So take your own. But had good nights sleep as it was quiet.
Room booked not given staff more interested in selling an upgrade. Very noisy from above. Breakfast was not replenished properly. Swimming pool rules onerous but location good between temples and historical area. More of a tour group hotel
Agrigent Hotel
Great location to go to the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. Great lap pool. Jucy, my receptionist, was excellent, professional, and very helpful in making my stay an excellent experience. It seems that all the beds in Italy and Sicily are rock hard firm. Just FYI...
Sicily
We loved Agricento the location of the hotel was good easy access to the center and to the the Valley of the temples.
Nice pool and garden but terrible service
For a hotel that claims to be 4 star the service was appalling. They charge you for things that are already included. Toilets were broken and never got repaired all week. Wifi never worked. Breakfast was disgraceful (no real coffee in Italy but they charged you extra if you dared ask for a fresh coffee!). The staff was overworked and basically managenent was a joke as none of our complaints were ever adressed. A total scam. Wouldn't give it one star.
Lovely gardens and good hotel
Reception staff were very reluctant to honour our complimentary breakfast deal. This was a pity because in all other respects we liked the hotel. Good room, with very good bathroom, Decent breakfast. Easy walk to town centre, and to Valley of the Temples. Last time I loved the swimming pool. This time, unfortunately it had not yet been opened but we did enjoy the very attractive gardens. The large tour groups which use the hotel did not bother us as we could easily avoid the breakfast rush.
Agrigento hotel della Valle
The hotel itself was nice but the food/extras were extortionate in price- compulsory swim hats which we weren't told about until at the pool and had to pay 5 euroes! Room was clean but small. Don't be fooled into thinking its easy to reach the Valle dei Templi from the hotel! We had no car and it was a good 45 minute walk along roads with no pavement.
Close to the Valley of Temples
Great location for visiting the Valley of the Temples but the surrounding neighbourhood of the Hotel has nothing to offer - only one place to eat within walking distance. The grounds are lovely but the swimming pool couldn't be used.
Choose another hotel in area
The hotel's location was great and there was nothing really wrong with the room. However, the staff's attitudes were horrible. They spoke almost no English, were snooty and rude. We had constant miscommunications with them, which resulted in the receptionist even saying that they were our fault as we could not understand him at all! There are enough hotels in the area so I would try another one and give this one a miss!
Hotel della Valle Wellness
Bland, anonymous but very convenient for the valley of the temples, just a few minutes drive away. Also only 20 minutes walk, uphill, to the centre of Agrigento. Expensive, even at web rates. If we`d paid full rates it would be very poor value.
Great location for the Valley of the Temples
The hotel is beautiful and the food and service in their restaurant was 4 star. The very big complaint was that the staff did not speak English.. In a 4 star hotel you expect the staff, all the staff, to speak enough English to be of help. There was one young man you had just started who spoke enough English to help somewhat, but he was not there most of the time. That made our stay almost impossible as we were traveling alone and could not get any information, even as far as where to buy a bathing suit. I did speak some Sicilian but not enough when they realized that I could speak some it became almost impossible because now they were not going to make an effort to help. The staff was a problem and almost annoyed that they were expected to help us. Very, very disappointing.
Hotel Della Valle Wellness & Spa, Agrigento
It is not a four star hotel. It is old and not well kept, the room stinks, breakfast is not good. But the location is convenient for visiting the old temples.
Not impressed
Reception staff disinterested. We reserved a table for dinner but arrived to a full restaurant & a queue to be told we'd have to wait over an hour or join a double coach party on a fixed menu! Blessing in disguise as we had a wonderful meal at the nearby Taverni dei Templi near the museum.
Nice Hotel, Poor Customer Service
Room was very nice and clean. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Staff was unfamilar with bus schedules and times and also unable to provide taxi numbers.
On recommande
Bem localizado. Check in rapido e pratico nas maos do Lorenzo...
A recommander.
posizione personale competente gentilezza dovunque
C'est un havre de paradis ... Magnifique endroit...
