Excellent service
The Hotel was excellent as far as service and staff. I would have given five star except we had a difficult time streaming shows on the television.
The bathroom was tiny, we could barely have one person move in there. The room was the same story.
Would Come Back Again
Quiet part of town, affordable, clean, friendly and professional staff
Great and cozy
Great value. Love this place.
Great little secure hotel. Breakfast included. Had room for kids adjoining our room.
Notthing plus 51 dollars to park. Outrageous
Loved the place. Management in front is great too
From the moment we arrived (early), Inez, oscar and Richard seemed so delighted we were there. Lovely and delish fresh pastries, coffee/hot water 24hrs and v super responsive.
This is a very sweet and thoughtfully appointed hotel. It is very safe and secure and though not truly updated it’s very clean and comfortable. Included breakfast was generous! Definitely recommend!!
Was very good 👌
We love staying here. The one issue was that the pool heater broke so I couldn’t go swimming.
Best Stay
My stay was great I love coming back here every year for my event.
Great location but do note that because of its proximity to bars that people are coming and going late into the night
Great spot!
Great redone property. Heating was a bit of an issue as the bathroom was freezing and room was hot. But that was minimal issue as rest of stay was great. Parking was fair for a safe spot in the area. Bagels and muffins in the morning. Staff can’t be beat. I’ll be back with friends for a visit to hit up the pool when it is warm
The rooms are a bit dated but the service and intentions of the staff are on point.
Very lovely property with excellent vibe. I would stay there again!
Quiet oasis in a busy area.
Good take-away breakfast. Kind staff. The sofa was a bit squeaky. The shower has a good stream of hot water. Nice experience overall.
Great location with lots of dining and shopping options within walking distance. Parking is secure, so no need to worry about car break ins. Good for families too!
Lovely little hotel in great walking distance to Marina and Cow Hollow. Great amenities and comfy beds; very affordable!
Love this place!
This hotel is adorable, with amazing staff in a great location!
I dont know who, but someone decided to not put blackout curtains into the rooms which is ridiculous. There is bright lights infront of the window and it looks like the sun is rising when the blinds are closed, through out the entire night. Nothing for light sleepers.
The rooms are old and not maintained and only after 3 requests did they agree to clean the room once during a 4 night stay
The Hotel del Sol exceeded my expectations. I was looking for an affordable but clean and comfortable room and these guys nailed it. Oscar at the front desk was awesome. The property has its limitations, but they make the most of it and it has a lot of charm.
The breakfast pastries were very nice served with good coffee. It was really nice to see so many European families. The outdoor courtyard area was very nice and clean
All plus
I found this gem on Hotels.com. I am so glad I did. This is a 1950’s motor lodge motel that has been completely restored and modernized. This property has so much retro charm it’s off the charts ! All of the staff I spoke with was extremely kind, and friendly. It is also very quiet and secure. The entrance and parking is heavily gated. I did not drive , but would have had no second thoughts about parking my Corvette here. Could not have enjoyed my stay more. Loved it so much I bought a hat . Well done people!
Oscar and other staff were very helpful and made parking and favorite restaurant suggestions! Nice quality choices of tea, coffee and pastries for small breakfast on the way out each day. Clean Cali style Motor Inn!
Good
Friendly staff and knowledgeable. Nice breakfast and clean rooms
It was good and a decent hotel to stay .
This is my favorite place to stay in San Francisco. I stay here every time I’m in town!
great location near my son's apartment on Union Street, farmers market, clean, and nice staff. person on 3rd floor above me was heavy footed and making noise at 5;00AM daily so a bit annoying. also on corner room by street and it was a bit noisy at times but realize it was the weekend.
Cute little hotel. Loved my stay there.
This a nice and consistently clean location. The employees are extremely friendly.
Great value, cool style.
Hotel Del Sol was a nice surprise. It's rooms are well decorated, current, very clean, with a nice vibe. Lots of international travelers here. Breakfast was a total surprise with local good coffee and fresh pastries that were delicious. Exceeded my expectaitons. The pool was under some construction so didn't get to use it. Rooms were not super quiet which I didn't expect with the layout, and the bed linens were very nice. Mattress very soft and not the best. Overall good value and great location. Very close to Union Street area and also the Marina. I will stay here again.
Cute little spot. Staff is great and helpful. Beds are comfy but walls are too thin. Could hear our neighbours. But we enjoyed the hotel.
Amenity hidden extra fee
Please be aware, that there is added a 25USD Amenity Fee per night. This needs to be considered when evaluating the overall cost of the stay, as this is not listed and charged on your deposity covered card.
Charming Family Hotel
Clearly and older motel that has been updated and has lots of charm. Our room was very clean and comfortable, no refrigerator or microwave though. The kids enjoyed the pool, the staff even brought out a few balls they’d found for the kids to play with. The hotels colors are vibrant with cute door placards. The breakfast was a bunch of pastries and yogurt, if you have picky eaters there’s not much (bagels, toast, croissants, bran muffins, etc). We wound up eating in one day and out 2 other days. You take the breakfast back to your room or to the common space outdoors. I actually feel like when I booked this hotel there was little to no parking fee which is why I chose it. I was surprised to get a $40 per night parking bill with a bunch of taxes and fees. This was not discussed at check in. Between the parking and tourism fees we wound up with a $205 bill I wasn’t expecting. Pay close attention to that at booking, maybe even screenshot it. I wish I had. All in all a great family hotel, we would stay again!
Love the location and convenient parking.
Safe, friendly staff, simple grab and go breakfast, an easy walk to great sites.
The staff were helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast had pastries and Im a tea drinker so I appreciated the premium brand tea bags! Parking was only 40 when most in SF are 50-60. Only a single night stay but met our needs.
Very good hotel
This place was charming and sunny with a great breakfast. The staff was extremely kind and helpful in every interaction. Easy walk from the hotel to Ghirardelli square and Fisherman’s Wharf too.
Great time staying there enjoy it 😀 no crazy deposit amount
Very well cared for older property with wonderful pool breakfast and parking
Clean, quiet, comfortable. Excellent location, very friendly staff. Parking onsite inside gated lot on first come first served basis for a daily fee. Over flow lot is not gated.
This hotel is such a great place to stay. We found it to be quiet, fun, family-friendly and with a much-appreciated attention to detail. The breakfast featured delicious freshly made muffins, amongst other yummy things, and freshly brewed decaf coffee as well as regular. Cookies in the afternoon, and a fire pit in the courtyard both contribute to the atmosphere. The hotel is just over 30mins easy walk to Fisherman's Wharf and very close to numerous cafes and other eating options. We would definitely stay here again. I got the impression there are quite a few regulars.
Friendly staff during checkin and comfortable room
Clean with convenient location.
Very friendly staff
Property has Not much to offer. The room smells terrible, we had to open the door to let the smell out, no Microwave or fridge. Very tiny room. Pastries for breakfast, yogurt etc. 24h coffee, tea, drinks which is nice. The lady who checked us in was nice to let us check in early. Not Much parking space inside the hotel but there is an overflow parking outside. Overall, an ok accommodation but will not book again.
This is a cute little hotel. We had to do some testing at UCSF and only needed to stay 1 night. The staff are friendly. It is a little confusing getting into the lobby. The door has a sign with an arrow to use other door but there isn’t another door. There’s a gate that you need to push a “doorbell” and they’ll let you in. A sign would really help cut down on the confusion. The rooms could use a bit more of an upgrade. The shower head is only about 5 feet high and the water pressure is quite low. It took awhile to wash my shampoo and soap off. The main issue with the room is that it only has blinds on the window, no curtains. So the light outside just beams into the room all night making you think it’s morning all night. Some thick hotel curtains would perfectly remedy the problem. The beds aren’t that comfortable and the blowdryer didn’t work. The gfi switch had a light that said “when red, replacement needed”. If we had to stay longer, these issues would have been annoying. The breakfast was ok, a standard continental with pastries, yogurt, bagels etc. It really could be a true gem with a few tweaks.
Little dated, but liked the feel
Amazing bed, safe, clean and delightful
This was a last minute booking due a family member at UCSF medical center and I’m so grateful to have found this. We had been staying at a Marriot in a rougher section of the city previously and their prices tripled (on a Monday night?) so I was searching for alternatives. Not only was the bed in my room at Del Sol a million times more comfortable (rivaled my own at home), the staff was so kind, and the area was so much cleaner and safer. 100% plan to stay again hopefully under better circumstances
Impressed!
Clean, secure parking and secure rooms despite open air. Building might be older but everything was very clean. Cable TV didn’t work but I was able to easily cast from phone and tablet. Great area off Lombard, close to so many good restaurant options on Fillmore.
Best kept secret and being walking distance to attractions
They list the pool as heated but it is not yet heated. We booked this hotel for the heated pool.
This hotel has GREAT branding. It's basically a motel in a good location with a pop of color. Does not look like the pics. No maid service unless requested, rooms are tiny and bland and need updates. Pool does not look like that. It is plopped in the middle of the parking lot.
Comfortable and charming with great breakfast.
Arrived at 3pm and the room was not ready. The lady said she would text me when the room was ready. After 30 mins, I checked in with the desk and they said the room was ready, but they just forgot to text me. Not impressed. The heated pool was not actually heated and there were several disappointed guests (including us). The room was clean, comfortable and charming. The coffee in the lobby was excellent and the grab and go breakfast was impressive. High quality. Overall, if the pool was actually heated, I would stay again.
Family Friendly Vacay
Very family friendly. My kids were able to get into the pool twice (wasn’t heated but hopefully will be at our next visit). We loved how safe & secluded it felt for being in the city. We only had one TV channel tho and couldn’t figure out how to stream apps but it worked out since we weren’t always in the room.
The hotel was good. Beds were comfy. However upon check in they hit you with the $40 dollar a night parking to park your car at the hotel you are paying to stay at. I wasn’t a fan of that. They should really advertise that on the hosting websites to help people make the decision before booking. Overall just to spend the night after traveling not bad.
Safe
It was a great place to stay with my family. Very nice area, very convenient and the staff was really nice. Totally recommended.
It is an extremely safe property with scenic views less than a half mile walk. The bed was very comfortable. What we didn’t like this stay was Room 102 smelled a bit musty, the tv was a mystery to figure out and the hot water in the sink took over 15 minutes to get warm!
Hotel Del Sol is in a convenient area of San Francisco. Restaurants are within walkable distance. The rooms were quiet, although small. We liked that the bathroom light was on a motion detector so if we had to get up during the night the bathroom light came on automatically. Nice touch. Our room did not have a mini-fridge. Would have liked that. Breakfast was basic. The advertised pool was empty and looks like it has not been filled for quite some time based on older hotel reviews. Parking in the hotel lot was convenient.
Really enjoyed location in the Marina. Would certainly recommend.
I'm so glad I chose this property for our trip to San Francisco! The hotel is clean and so cute. The beds are very comfortable. Loads of wonderful restaurants in easy walking distance and the neighborhood felt very safe. The entire staff was amazing! Friendly, engaging, knowledgeable about the area. I can't say enough about how wonderfully we were treated!
New beds
Clean, quiet, quaint, cute property. Very friendy and helpful easy to work with and accommodating I would return!
I liked that the property was secure.
No room cleaning/trash removal/towel exchange
location and cleanliness
Although the pool was being repaired, we enjoyed an upgrade and a wonderful breakfast. Well worth it
Staff 10/10. Extra fees get you. Parking tight. Pool was closed. Water pressure 1/10
Stayed with my son after a medical scare at UCSF. Property felt safe, the staff was super friendly and helpful, facility was clean and beds were very comfortable. They let us have a late check out no problem because my husband was driving from home to pick us up. The pool was closed down because it’s being rebuilt but the work was 9-5 so didn’t bother us and we couldn’t use it anyway. It will be beautiful once finished. The walls were a bit thin and while I appreciate how well lit outside is, they could use block out curtains as they only have blinds that didn’t block the light well.
Very pleasant updated motel with locked downstairs parking. The elevator for disabled guests is helpful. The room was clean and I appreciate the use of minimally scented products. The shower is a bit small and the bed a bit soft but these things were workable. The yard and pool area are being upgraded. It is surprisingly quiet for being this close to a manor thoroughfare leading to the Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street, and the price was very reasonable. The lobby with freshly baked cookies, cold water and orange juice, and coffee is a small but welcome bonus.
These guys were great. Friendly, honest, and supportive. Bumped me up to a king sized bed free of charged no questions asked. Safe, clean, great location, healthy complementary breakfast. Thank you! Sam
Unacceptable accomodations. This did not meet expectations. Subpar bathroom, dirty and no hot water.
A great place in cow hallow/marina district of SF. Great breakfast and an amazing folks to help you get on your way. I highly recommend Hotel Del Sol. It’s like a home away from home.
Nice spot to stay. Staff was super friendly. Breakfast was nice selection for a grab and go. Within walking distance to many attractions and was easy to navigate with transit.
Loved Everything
Will absolutely stay here again for the simple fact of a noon check out, and free 1pm late check out. Breakfast exceeded our expectations. Welcoming surprise with a very friendly, and helpful staff. Rooms were fair, but everything else made up for it.
Great stay!
It was super nice and in a great area to get to everything we wanted to do. They were so nice at the front desk and the rooms were clean and well put together.
Excellent location. Quirky, fun hotel. Very clean and staff are very professional. Would stay here again.
Staff is exceptional, and the hotel goes above and beyond. I was blown away by how they seemed to anticipate everything. When I got to the room, I was surprised by how big it was! It was very roomy and well-laid out. There wasn't a mini fridge, which I generally expect in most hotel rooms now, but that wasn't really a big deal.
Unique and fun décor. Nice breakfast
Fantastic. Great location, retro, cool and great staff.
Staff is extremely nice. Everything was great. The only thing i can say is parking is very tight. Other than that everything was wonderful.
Oskar was very professional explaining everything about our stay.
The hotel is well-kept and the staff friendly. The location is good. It was unpleasant to be confronted with an on-site amenities charge for services that should be included in the rate.
Hotel was not as nice as the pictures, very dated. There was construction and it was a little messy in the courtyard. The room was awfully dated and there were little bugs everywhere near the tv and desk. We stayed the first night down the road at a place that outwardly didn’t look as nice but the rooms were amazing. I wish we booked the whole stay there. Hotel del Sol was overpriced because of salesforce and under delivered.
Manager very helpful.
The place is so bright and cheerful - just like the staff. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. The place has a great vibe.
I stayed here for two nights in July. The courtyard was cordoned off for construction and the pool looked filthy. The hotel was okay. Nothing special, nothing overly dreadful but certainly nothing to get excited about. The reception staff seemed weary. There is very little parking but there is an overflow lot opposite. The breakfast is fine but there are only a few tables to sit at.
Great location, safe, friendly staff and delicious breakfast. Always stay here.
I would definitely stay here again. The location was great. It was close to a lot of restaurants and we felt safe walking around. The breakfast was nice. The walls are a bit thin so if you have to go to bed early like we did, you may hear your neighbors. Otherwise we slept great.
Very clean Heated pool
Overall very bad.

We really enjoyed our stay. Location was perfect!
