The property is well located with good options for eating and coffee houses. Very walkable area with park and nearby shopping. Owner and staff are quite helpful and friendly! Thank you.
Really good service, very friendly . We travel with our bikes and they really help us so it can be easy. We enjoy our trip!
The place is charming and the manager is super helpful in suggesting things to do and arranging a taxi when needed. Highly recommend!
Noisy, loud hotel. Do not stay
Don’t stay here if you want a good night rest. We were placed downstairs right by the breakfast area and couldn’t sleep all night due to other guests being loud between 11-12pm and virtually no sound isolation, felt like they were inside our room. Then we were woken up by them making breakfast (which they did tell us) but they said they would be quiet, well if the rooms would have any noise isolation it would’ve been ok but we could hear them cracking the eggs. I would suggest you to look at other hotels.
No frills hotel
A fantastic 2 night stay at this colourful hotel in Merida. We were lucky and managed to park on street, right outside the hotel free of charge. A lovely sun terrace with a plunge pool, ideal for catching some late afternoon sun with a cold beer after a day out exploring. We liked the fridge provided in a communal area for guests to use. Basic mexican style breakfast available in the morning including tea / coffee, eggs, bread and cakes. Friendly and helpful staff, our room was quiet overnight even though we wee facing out towards the street.
Everything is good: breakfast, staff, tour services, room condition. Too bad there is no water in the room one night, but it was repaired in the morning. 6-7 minutes walk to the tourist street and about 15 minutes walk to downtown. Tour guide of Eco Tour is excellent and very friendly.
Nice property
Outdated place, poor installations, very basic for a 3 star hoyel
I loved the unique feeling of being in a house and not a hotel. The only thing we didn’t like was the sink in the bathroom leaked and the floor would sometimes be wet. Other then that we loved it.
This hotel has all the charm of an older building in Merida, but it also has all the modern amenities that make travel more comfortable.
Wonderful stay at Hotel del Perigrino -- major attractions, dining and shopping within walking distance. Friendly and helpful staff.
It was great
A pleasant boutique hotel.
Hotel del Peregrino is a comfortable and nicely decorated boutique hotel convenient to Merida center and also Avenida Montejo. If heading into the center on foot, I recommend NOT walking down Calle 56, it is trafficky and not so pleasant as 58, 60 (the best though currently with some renovation, but still walkable) or 62. Many of the rooms are up stairs, so if you are not very mobile, ask for a room on the ground floor. Breakfast is a cold buffet (with tea/coffee/toast)-- good variety. Staff are pleasant and helpful.
Merida trip
Charming colonial house converted into a great place to stay while visiting Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. We spent a memorable 2 weeks at Hotel Del Peregrino and it was fabulous!!!! The staff was efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. We arranged all our tours and outings through the front desk and they delivered outstanding results every time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Merida. Its location is perfect to all the action of colonial Merida, without the noise of a busy downtown.
Main plaza and avenida montejo were many popular places are is walking distance ! Had the chance to meet the owner her attentions were top of top!!!! I would stay here again !! On our checkout we left a cell. owner called me offered to ship phone i tought that was nice sice we had already startes driving to campeche !!
I liked everything in the Hotel del Pelegrino.
Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. We stayed there twice and both times staff were very helpful with any questions we had. Breakfast is offered buffet style, everything was tasty. Open area on the second floor has seating and a hot-tub sized pool, great for cooling off on a hot day. We would certainly stay there again another time.
Nice clean, small hotel with great breakfast. Great location to everything. Neighborhood is very quiet. Staff wonderful
Mistic
Great Hotel!
It's a very nice hotel. The location is good which is both quiet and within walkable distance to the centro. The room is clean and cozy. We had a lot of good time sitting at the platform on the 2nd floor, which was so comfortable and relaxing. There's a guest fridge at the breakfast area. So we could enjoy cold beer everyday when we rushed back from the heat. The staffs are very nice, always friendly and helpful. I'd strongly recommend this hotel.
Beautiful place and amazing location
Beautiful place, service was incredible and the location is great. 100% recommended.
you can hear all the noise everywhere, apart from that is excellent!
This is not a luxury hotel, but great value and the staff is absolutely wonderful. Great location and has all the essentials. I would have loved to have had a fridge in the room. Breakfast was very good.
Clean, comfortable, well-located, and cheap!
We really loved staying here. It's located a ten minute walk to tons of great, fun activities to do in Merida (including major transit to places like Progreso), but located on a side-street, which made it easy to call things like ubers/didi. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, even volunteering to call the pharmacy for delivery of a medication when my husband was feeling poorly, and having our laundry sent out to the washpo and just added to our room tab couldn't be beat (and made our vacation so simple and easy). The only complaint we have is that if you're the kind of person that likes a perfectly quiet environment for sleep, you'll want something running white noise, as the walls are a bit thin.
Bon point : Amabilité du personnel
nice property, good location, safe environment
My family and I stayed for 2 nights while visiting chichen-itza and cenotes. The room was clean, staff nice and helpful. Would stay there again
This hotel is ok for 1 night as the rooms are small BUT most definitely dont get a room on the ground floor - ours was right next to reception and the breakfast area with constant noise all day and night - the room has zero noise insulation and the staff have no interest or care in the fact that it was impossible to sleep - very disappointing many other better options in Merida.
I didn’t like the fact that after I checked out, I couldn’t find a watch that I traveled with. I had 3 watches when I checked in. It was a fake Rolex. There was a movado wath as well but they left that one. Very disappointing since the rest of my stay there was nice.
Great staff
Great gem in Merida
Excellent choice for a stay. Clean, confortable and friendly staff.
Charming old facility. Very Helpful staff, outstanding breakfast, very clean, great king bed. Very small room difficult tiny space to move around bed, shower head broken, shower mixer very difficult to avoid getting scalded. Very small lobby and common area. Safe neighborhood but nothing to see nearby. Price high for small, old hotel.
Charming little hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely open courtyard with umbrella tables and chairs. Open air Hot tub not in operation due to covid. Provide complementary bottled water in room daily. Daily complementary breakfast of fruit, eggs, juice, coffee, toast, beans, and chilaquiles. I’d like to suggest they recycle the water bottles but I’m not sure how much recycling happens anywhere in Mérida. City feels very safe including at dusk. Everyone is masked inside and out. Shops and restaurants squirt you with sanitizer in entry and often take your temp. Si feels very covid safe.
gr
Fantastic!
It was very clean and the housekeeping service was terrific. The staff were all very helpful and kind. The Continental breakfast was a 'home cooked' hot breakfast, fantastic! I would recommend this hotel.
Small quiet hotel with good value.
Peaceful and quiet small hotel in a low -traffic street while being quite convenient to the places you want to see. The staff here were very helpful and hold to a high standard. Fernando was like a consierge for us. His recommendations were excellent.
Great staff very professional, the place is clean, the hotel is localed strategically close to everything
Great hotel
Great service, clean rooms and amazing service.
We booked Hotel Del Peregrino because of its location in the colonial old town. It turned out to be perfect and convenient for walking. In spite of a nondescript entrance on the street, the small reception area opens to a charming and colorful courtyard where breakfasts are served. Our room was quiet, roomy, and well appointed. Best of all was a friendly and accommodating staff. We were especially fond of the night manager, Fernando, who made our stay very homelike.
This hotel has a lovely vibe.Friendly. It is in an excellent location, has a swimming pool near bye (shared with Nomads) and all the staff are attentive and charming. We also booked an eco tour of Uxmal from here and it was definitely the best organised and informative tour of all our trips in Mexico. We would not hesitate to go back here.
Exactly as I was expecting for a Merida sytle accomodation. Not the Holiday Inn but not bargain basement either. My only downsides were that the beds, as mentioned it other reviews, were indeed mega hard. Brand new but wow, slabs of concrete feeling. But they did the trick. And finally the wifi on our floor and in our room didn't work. It would come and go from minute to minute. So we would have to go closer to the centre of the hotel to communicate with the outside world. but other than that, it met our expectations with no surprises at all. A great place to stay if you are a seasoned traveller who wants to save a few $$$.
Pleasant with some limitations
Pleasant hotel. A bit farther from center than where I was on my last visit to Merida. The one single room that they have and where I stayed was a bit small and only had a small unscreened transom above door and no window. Also right next to breakfast area so no sleeping late. Toilet was awkward to get up from as cramped. But overall hotel is fine but seems a bit overpriced. Good breakfast.
Nice breakfast area and meals. Very pleasant and attentive staff. Close to historic downtown. Safe and quiet area. Getting hot water in shower takes practice, no hot water in bathroom sink.
Property was pretty, clean and small. A different breakfast every morning after toast and fruit. Access to microwave and refrigerator in kitchen area. Drinks for sale on the property. Staff at front desk very helpful with calling taxis.
Terrific hotel
A very pleasant, enjoyable stay for 4 nights, quiet, comfortable. Especially enjoyed the breakfast special dish which was different everyday, and guests sharing their experiences and critique of places visited. Staff excellent service. The central dining/kitchen also has a guest fridge, drinking water supply for refilling water bottles initially provided. Very eco friendly. I highly recommend Hotel Del Peregrino.
Staff really nice and helpful. Place clean and breakfast delicious. Well located near everything
The hotel is small and simple but very charming. The staff are wonderful, very friendly and kind. The room we stayed in was large with a very comfortable bed, good air conditioning and all necessary amenities. Simple but comfortable, met all our needs. The breakfast is fruits, bread and a dish that varies daily and is well served. Very good location, in a quiet street of the historic center, 4 blocks from the main square.
Lovely hotel, convenient location, excellent staff and breakfasts. The yellow and brown room decoration is unfortunate. The limited hours for the jacuzzi should be extended. I was surprised that the 3 block distance to the pool became a real challenge. When you’re hot and tired, you really want the pool right there, in August.
Clean and Comfortable
The place is is not huge and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean with a nice Mexican flare. The TV is very small and all the channels are in Spanish so bring a good book if you don't speak the local language, but if you are watching TV you should have stayed home anyway. There is always a surprise awaiting when you come back to your room at the end of the day, the staff makes cute towel animals that are placed on your bed. Every day there is a different one, we had a swan, a dog, an elephant, a pig, and a turtle. Also, the breakfasts are really good with plenty of fresh ripe fruit. There is a different breakfast every day that is individually cooked for you by a cute little chef that only understands English language breakfast words. The beds are a little on the firm side but were absolutely perfect for me and my wife, not one complaint the whole week.
Good place to stay for wandering around the centre of town. Nice breakfast and great suggestions for a tailor made tour to the beach etc.
The personnel are friendly and helpful. We were very happy with their service
Great hospitality!
This hotel situated at the quiet neighborhood. They have someone at the front desk 24/7. We arrived late that night and someone was waiting for us. Hotel staff are excellent! Different breakfast each day and everyone was very accommodating. 10 mins walk to the main plaza. Thank you for the lovely stay!
Bien ubicado, delicioso desayuno,comodo
Exelente atencion de los recepcionistas y servicio de desayuno
Good location close to the city centre and very helpful staff.
Clean and conveniently located. Very friendly staff.
Great location within walking distance to el centro and other locations. The rooms are nice and it’s a very peaceful place. The staff is extremely friendly and even helped us to rent a car. The hotel has an agreement with a nearby hostel for pool use. I would highly recommend taking them up on it. The hostel pool is very nice! Hammocks hanging over the water, etc.
This beautiful Mexican style hotel was the perfect home base for our adventures in Merida!! Mario, Daniel, Brandon and the rest of the staff were absolutely wonderful. We loved the small, cozy feel, opposed to a big chain hotel. It's easily within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, and the main square. Having a different (authentic) breakfast each morning was a fantastic way to get to try some of the local food (it's not at all spicy!). The cleaning staff keeps the whole place spotless and we loved returning to our room each afternoon to see what new towel creation they had created. Any of the front desk staff know enough English to be able to help with whatever we needed, including booking tours, calling taxis, giving directions, restaurant recommendations, shuttle arrangements, etc. Our flight home left later in the evening and they were happy to keep our bags at the hotel while we continued to explore the city. They even had an option for us to shower before we went to the airport. I really can't say enough...we would definitely recommend this hotel and hope we can return someday!!!
The breakfasts were great, and the location is close to many sites and activities.
We loved the hospitality of the staff. Front desk does it all. Breakfasts are nice and well serviced. Did NOT like: false claims in the Expedia listing. There truly is no "Palapa Bar". Also, it is completely misleading to say there is a swimming pool - you can use one that's several blocks away. Also completely misleading to say there are laundry facilities - several blocks the other direction. Once we were told the wrong name of the hotel it was in. There is no pick up or delivery - you have to take it there and go get it. Staff told us "the palapa bar" means this: you go to the front desk, tell them you want, say, a beer. OK, they get key and go to a small refrigerator and unlock the padlock on it, and give you a beer. They write it down so that later, it's totaled up, and you pay (it has to be cash, of course) for your drinks. Anyway, you take your drink upstairs to where there are tables and chairs next to the cold Hot Tub. And THAT'S the palapa bar. Make plans to take your luggage up and down stairs. Yes, there are rooms downstairs, and if the front desk people have a chance, they gladly help you up and down. Our room was small beyond belief, especially the bathroom. Ask about what you can, and cannot, put in the toilet - just sayin'. The "cash surprise" was being told at check-in we could save at least a full night's expense if we paid cash, now. Felt cheesy, but would have been good to know ahead of time. If you want a printed out room folio, that's a no. Great staff!!
Staff was excellent made us feel at home. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Mérida
Great value for money with excellent full breakfast included. Friendly and very helpful staff. Located on a quiet street within short walk of Calle 60 and the historical centre, plazas and restaurants. Excellent bakery just up the street. Highly recommended.
Location, staff, desayuno and rooms are excellent.
We will certainly stay here again, next time we are in town. The hotel is in a great area, within walking distance of both Plaza Grande attractions and Paseo Montejo. It is very well maintained. Breakfast is actually cooked for you and the dining area is lovely. We also found out that guests can use a fridge and even cook in the kitchen area if you just ask for cookware! The employees were all very friendly and we were given a local map upon arrival with sites marked.
Everyone is kind, welcoming, and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, the hotel is located near the main plaza where all the action is, and there are plenty of close by chic restaurants and bars within a single block radius.
Could be great, but . . .
Hotel Peregrino is an old colonial building with the very small rooms around a courtyard that is quite noisy in the morning. Beds and pillows are uncomfortably hard. But the staff is great.
Pro: close to downtown Merida and activities, clean rooms, pleasant staff, nice patios Con: set breakfast menu with little variation, faulty plumbing
The staff is helpful and very friendly. The breakfast is good and varied. The hotel was fairly recently renovated and has a lot of character compared to other hotels we had a glimpse of. Some of the rooms do not have windows which is a minus. I’d definitely return to this hotel.
Small intimate hotel in the old central core of Mérida. Beautiful central open core, wonderful staff, great breakfasts included! Couldn’t be better. Easy walking distance to restaurants, historic sites, and museums.
Little gem in Merida
Great location, wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, clean, comfortable beds, fabulous breakfast...could not want more could you ask for for the price. Would definitely stay again
Extremely helpful staff around the clock. Lovely common area for eating & socializing over breakfast. Far enough from the (busy!) epicentre of the historical zone to be quiet, but close enough for easy walking to it...and also close to the Paseo Montejo. Lovely breakfasts included!
Great staff and fabulous breakfasts Very helpful and knowledgeable about everything we needed
The hotel rooms look completely different than in the website. The hotel is a big house with 12 rooms. My room had a very small window, with horrible lighting. The shower head was not clean. The staff, breakfast and location was outstanding.
The staff were a reflection of the gracious people of Merida. After a 10 day stay it was with a heavy heart to leave the kindness of the Peregrino staff.
The staff was great. Breakfast was good rooms were very clean and the location was great about 5 min walk to the main squares.
This hotel is on a good location for enjoying Merida. It is easy to walk to anywhere you might be interested in and it is near a bus route. The hotel has good modern amenities but still keeps that Merida vibe. The staff here really make the stay enjoyable.
Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff.good value but no elevator and poor lighting.
I really appreciated how everyone working at the hotel was always friendly, very helpful, thoughtful & generous. I was dealing with a challenging dental situation, including implant surgery, & everyone was impeccably considerate, gracious. I stayed 6 nights. The first night i was in a small windowless room. I was grateful to be able to move to a more spacious room with windows for the remaining nights. My only complaint is that the coffee was weak & so-so. But nearby is a pleasant organic coffee "bar" which is a good option.
We were very happy with this hotel. It is on a very quiet street and about a four block walk from the action of the town plaza. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. This hotel had a very peaceful feel to it. The man at the reception desk was able to answer all our questions about the area and gave us suggestions about activities to try.
Had a great experience, ended up booking more days
We stayed in Merida for 4 days at Hotel Del Peregrino. 2 days at the beginning of our trip and booked again for 2 days at the end of our trip as we had done some travelling in between. The room, staff and breakfasts were great. A cozy and friendly atmosphere, a few blocks from the center of Merida. My husband and I would highly recommend!
Quaint Hotel Just Minutes from Downtown
I spent over a week in Merida, Yucatan and found Hotel del Peregrino to be the perfect location. I was just minutes from the center of the city, which I walked to almost every day. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I was able to book tours right from the hotel. Every morning I enjoyed a homemade Mexican breakfast. After a day of exploring I returned to a clean room. I visited in June when it was very hot and was happy to find the air conditioner cooled the room very quickly.
Cozy hotel
Staff were very nice and polite. At times they even went their way to serve our needs.
Great Authentic hotel in center of Merida
Amazing hotel in centre of Merida! Very nice staff and we had a great stay!
Basic accommodation with exception service
Staff were amazing. Hotel was well situated. Rooms were basic but very clean.
Hotel has relaxing ambiance and staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast autentic freshly prepared. Walking distance to downtown attractions. Safe to walk at all hours.
Comfortable old style hotel with colourful tiles.
Hotel located in Centro historic area of Merida. Many festivities on a daily basis within walking distance. Very helpful staff. Great Mexican style cooked breakfasts included. Bottled water available 24hrs. Highly recommended.
Perfect Mexican hotel for a perfect stay
This hotel is lovely and comfortable. Breakfasts are cooked fresh and are delicious Yucatecan food. Beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are pretty and functional. The desk staff speak more-than-passable English. The only things I would change are the 9PM quiet time and shut-down of the spa pool, and the distance to the large pool. Aside from the walk, though, the pool at the hostel is very pleasant. Oh -- it would be nice to have coffee available much earlier, and available without asking the wait staff. This isn't a hotel for people who object to putting TP in the wastebaskets or who want their motel to look and feel American -- it's definitely Mexican. And beautiful in the way I love in Mexican style.
Fine little hotel near center of the old city.
I am happy to recommend this little gem of a hotel. Very authentic place, and reasonably priced, near the city center, within walking distance of many places, and included- an excellent breakfast which is different each day. Also, good wi-fi service, nearby on-street parking (free), and delightful and helpful staff. Altogether a fine experience, and would gladly stay there again.
This hotel was a good choice
We really enjoyed breakfast every morning. The food is delicious and just the right amount. The ladies make a different breakfast every day and are very friendly. The hotel room was downstairs as about half the rooms seem to be. This is where breakfast is prepared in the morning, so if you enjoy sleeping in then requesting an upstairs room might be preferable. The beds were nice and firm, just the way we like it. The hotel provides a towel and entry ticket for the pool at a hostel down the street and it is surprisingly nice. Lots of lounge chairs and quite a few hammocks. Very relaxing. There is a hotel nearby where you can drop off laundry for 25 pesos per kilo. We would stay here again!
The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and as shown in the pictures. Complimentary breaksfast was amazing! Location was close enough to everything, but far enough for it to be nice and quiet.
Affordable Comfort with Great Location
Great Place with an ideal location. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, good showers. A few more choices at breakfast would be nice, but it wouldn't keep me from going back.
Friendly staff and great breakfast.
Staff was there 24/7 and very nice. They spoke good english. Breakfast included and was excellent. I recommend staying on second floor if possible due to first floor right by courtyard and had more noise but not too bad. Suggest earplugs traveling anyway. I payed about $48 on expedia and got room #6 which is right behind cooking area and I do not suggest that room due to location. Rooms had good ac and hot water and tv but pretty basic. Overall good stay mainly due to breakfast, food, and air conditioning.
Great place with super friendly staff
Spent a couple of nights in Merida at Hotel Del Peregrino. It is a lovely place, we were met by wonderfully folded towels in shapes of animals (with eyes!) in our rooms. A little bit of a walk from the main town square but right around other Merida attractions.
Peregrino
They advertise a pool but do not have one You would have to go to another hotel that they have an agreement with. They advertise laundry service but you have to drop it off and pick it up at a different hotel four blocks away The manager told me they have a varied menu, but they had eggs everyday except one. I have high cholesterol so I could not eat it except for the fruit.
Just change the menu a little and is a perfect.
The hotel is in an excellent location walking minutes from downtown and walking minutes from Paseo Montejo the main avenue of the city, internet and AC worked perfectly the service was also excellent, the employees always willing to help you, the only only little thing I have to complain about is the fact that the price included breakfast and they served eggs every day as breakfast (different presentations every day)but by our 5th day we were really tired and sick from eggs, their menu is the only thing I think they should really improve.
near Centro district, very reasonably priced
not the fanciest place, but rates were good, location was good, staff was very friendly and helpful, and they served a good breakfast
Mostly nice; but no shuttle
The description on Orbitz said (12/11/17) that Hotel del Peregrino has “airport shuttle available. Call in advance for details.” I did call in advance (when I was in Mexico City airport) and the clerk told me (in good English) that there is no airport shuttle. I must take a cab. Hotel is older but very clean. Both front desk clerks to whom I spoke were good English speakers. It’s on a lesser-used street so traffic noise is minimal.
friendly & central
clean and friendly with delicious breakfast

Check in was very easy. Our room was very clean and quiet. (The hotel has quiet hours between 9 pm & 9 am.) The staff were friendly and very responsive, calling taxis for us as needed. A small guest refrigerator in the open kitchen was available. The small pool holds about 6 people and the patio is delightful. Very walkable to the historic Centro or the Paseo de Montejo area.
