Nice, but odd
We had 2 rooms, booked at different times. They were very different. Seemed like they are updating and one room hadn't been done yet. That room had a tub in the bathroom, but no grab bars for safety. This room also did not have coffee or tea. The second, updated room, was nice, but odd. There was no closet or drawers for storage, only a shelf that ran the length of one wall, a rod with hangers above the coffee/tea bar, and a corner with a curtain. The service was good. They had a nice breakfast for a small fee. It is a very old building and the elevator was out of service. Luckily, we only had to go up one floor. When we checked out, they helped us take our luggage downstairs. Overall, it was nice, but probably wouldn't stay there again. They do have a "sister" hotel around the corner.
This was a great place to stay. Walking distance from Trevi and Pantheon. They offered free experiences…we wanted to do the night tour of the Colosseum but we just didn’t have the time. Only downside was the elevator was out of order at the time of our visit. Fortunately, we didn’t have a lot of luggage this time around. We learned our lesson the last time we were in Italy so we pack light. Other than that it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend the hotel to anyone.
great staff so nice

All staff were wonderful, especially Liubliana, Corina & Giulia who delivered exceptional service. Hotel Cortina surpassed Rome's 5-star hotels with authentic Italian hospitality - we'll definitely return for future visits!
The hotel offers good quality at a reasonable price. I have no complaints. However, if you are a light sleeper note that there is a bar on the first, an irish bar. Bring wax ear plugs..it did not bother me.
Habitación y baño espectaculares. La mejor relación precio calidad
Very nice accommodations and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. A lot of noise from outside the hotel on Saturday night, loud music until very late/early. Sunday night was quiet.
I had a lovely stay. The staff was helpful and friendly.
Nice place
This is a pretty nice piece. Super quiet, clean, great staff, very helpful, respectful, close to local transportation and train station, restaurants, shopping for just about anything, and of course churches. But keep an eye open, look for the light brown heavy doors, or you’ll miss it. Ring the doorbell on left side, easy. Receptionist Liubliana and the nice lady in the restaurant are the best! Btw, the lady in the restaurant makes a fantastic capuchino!
My stay at Hotel Cortina was amazing!!! The staff were all incredible and always willing to help in anyway. I always felt very safe here. The hotel is centrally located and on a busy street. It was always easy to find my way back too and an easy walk to landmarks around the city. Most of the big ones are about a 25-30 minute walk but it is beautiful in every direction!! There a lot of cute restaurants on this street and shopping as well. It was also in very close proximity to Termini Station if you plan on taking the train into Rome. I would absolutely come back here again on my next trip to Rome. I couldn't reccomend them enough!
A small, charming hotel on the first floor (one above the ground floor) of a historic apartment building. Beautifully decorated room and super helpful staff. A bit noisy at night from the crowd at the Irish pub on the corner.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and breakfast was good. The free walking tours arranged by the hotel were excellent with a very passionate and knowledgeable guide.
Good location, very nice and accomodating staff. Very helpful
For the price—a bit overpriced. Elevator broken so stairs used and very, very noisy music til 3 AM last night. Staff very nice, but for what we paid we’re glad it was for only one night.
No elevator
There were approximately 24 steps & no working elevator! Thankfully the staff provided some assistance when we were unable to navigate the steps with 2 heavy suitcases. Also our room was facing the street & we were kept awake with very loud street noise. The staff were very friendly, accommodating & offered assistance when requested.
The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Would stay again without hesitation.
Hotel is located in the heart of Rome. Mostly everything was walkable. Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, Pantheon, shopping, eating. Hotel was clean, bedding was comfortable, staff was friendly. Only drawback the shower pressure was not good.
The apartment was very nice and more then anticipated ! The apartment had its own functioning kitchen with stove top ! I arrived very early morning because of the flix bus schedule ! The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to let me check in early without having to pay an additional fee ! The security and the staff were great !
Fantastic hotel, convenient location.
I saw small rat in restaurant
As a solo female traveler I loved staying in this hotel. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make my stay exceptional. The rooms were quite sizeable and clean as well. Will definitely return!
The entry to the property had a large amount of garbage. They noted they had a lift but it was out of order. The room was in poor repair. The desk clerk was very nice and professional. The security was absent.
The staff was very welcoming before and during my stay. They answered all my questions and gave me recommendations. The elevator didn’t work but thankfully it was on the first floor everything. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
Cozy hotel with great staff. my wife and two children stayed in this hotel for an overnight in Rome. The staff was awesome, they keep the bags in storage while they visited the city. The room was great, clean and as it looks on the pictures. The hotel is close to the train station so is a great place to stay if you have an overnight and have trains to catch.
We only spent one night before flying back to the U.S, it was close to the train station & the staff arranged a car to the airport, so that was very helpful.
Lovely experience . Would recommend to a friend. Only thing would be maybe more breakfast buffet options and the beds were a bit firm. Otherwise great location great staff.
Property is centrally located with walking distance to main sites. Metro line 250m away to access for Colosseum. Staff are amazing and extremely helpful
Extremely difficult to find. Situated right over an Irish Pub which was terribly terribly noisy into the wee hours of the morning. Staff though was incredibly sweet and helpful.
The front desk staff was wonderful. Housekeeping didn’t clean our room even though we were out all day but Alessa was great and got us dry towels.
We had an amazing time for a quick overnight in Barcelona after a cruise. The room was much larger than expected and the AC was amazing! We highly recommend this location and believe it was a great value for the price paid.
Our stay at Hotel Cortina was pleasant and comfortable. The front desk staff, Sara and Alessia, were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was excellent. I felt very safe walking and shopping on Via Nazionale. I would definitely stay here again on future trips to Rome.
Quintissential European hotel - lovely!
When we arrived, it took us a moment to figure out to press the call button...interesting entrance...pretty neat! A small hotel with great service. The breakfast was delicious...complete with cappucinos and pastries! They even accommodated an early breakfast for us. The room had a balcony with a window that opened up on Via Natzionale, which was really neat to look out and see. When you closed the window, it was totally quiet. We loved the individuality of the rooms and style...a bit quirky with steps here and there. The location was amazing...very close to the metro and trains. The staff was awesome to help us arrange shuttles and even carry our luggage up the one flight of stairs! My only criticisms would be wifi...it didn't reach our room. We had to go sit in the lobby. The other one would be the bed and pillows were a bit firm, but some may like that.
Roma is calling
Cortina was located in a location near to transport links and easy walking distance to major places. Staff were fabulous and helpful when asked questions.
This hotel is convenient to the rail station (we walked) and the metro. We also walked to Trevi fountain. Lots of little shops and restaurants nearby. It took me a second to figure out where it was because there is at least one other hotel in the same building and the sign is kind of small. Desk attendants were really nice and helpful. The elevator was down while we were there if that’s an issue for you. Cortina is just on the first level above ground level, and they offered to carry our bags (we declined). A great first experience in Rome!
Great location. Walking distance to all the main sites in Rome. Property itself is a bit dated but the room is spacious for Rome and it has everything you need. The staff are so wonderful and helpful - they made our stay very memorable for us. Would definitely stay here again.
This is the exact type of location that we were looking for. We just needed one night before heading to the airport. The staff was excellent, giving us directions to places that we wanted to go. Breakfast in the morning was good. Very handy that it was available. (Would’ve been nice to have a microwave in the room though?) As well as maybe a kettle, for tea? Overall, excellent, I would definitely choose this location again. Mostly due to great staff!
No working water, the shower would take a long time to warm up then when it finally did, it would all of a sudden turn freezing cold or so hot it would burn your skin. The toilet barely flushed. The shower head was old and barely functioned. My fiancé is tall and, since there was no sign to warn guests of the extremely small front door that is identical in material to the wall, hit his head so hard it was bleeding and scarred. He’s so lucky he wasn’t hospitalized. When we told the front desk, they were nice about it but blamed the building, and didn’t promise to put a sign up for future guests. They essentially said it wasn’t their problem, which is very disheartening. A four dollar sign is much cheaper than a lawsuit. It’s a new hotel, and the receptionist told us their company just acquired it, and are working out the kinks. Why are we paying full price to be your guinea pigs? I would not recommend staying in this hotel until they get their act together.
Two thumbs up for Hotel Cortina
We had a really great stay at Cortina. The kind staff (Erika & Florencia) room cleanliness and hotel location were all A+. The FCO airport shuttle was super helpful too. We’ll stay again!
Rome central
Good location Good service
.
Mediocre at best
It just wasn't very comfortable. The step up and step down through the entire floor was not easy for lots of luggage. The bed was terribly uncomfortable. I thought it was overpriced for the quality of the hotel itself but the staff was great!
We had an okay stay for one night last week before our flight back to Chicago. The location is good with shops and dining nearby except for the Irish pub below the hotel. I had read other reviews complaining about the pub and late night noise, which we experienced, but thankfully were so tired were able to fall asleep. I had specifically asked the hotel to assign us a room away from the pub and we were put in a room facing the street with the pub next door. Hmmmm....must have already been full. The room was small but clean and we did have to use the A/C which does not stay on and requires you to start again after each cycle. Just glad we were not there in the heat of the summer. They did arrange for a private car to drive us to the airport which worked out perfectly for our early morning departure. We also did not book a room with breakfast so cannot comment on that. Overall it met our needs for a place to stay in Rome as we transited from the Amalfi Coast to home. Erika was very nice and helpful via email and when we arrived to check-in.
Staff was exceptional!!
Very nice hotel in a great location. The staff is very friendly and helpful! Would stay there again.
The staff were incredibly helpful with organizing events for the day! Monica and Florencia greeted us with such warmth and kindness! Having them at the front desk made it that much more enjoyable.
The location was within walking distance of the Pantheon. The staff were kind. The lobby is very small. It was incredibly noisy all night from all the tourists at the fountain. It was also very crowded.
Area not the best.
Nice property with an apartment like setup. Good for families with kids.
Excellent stay in Rome. Good welcome from the staff. The apartment was spacious and clean, AC was excellent. Wifi was best. Kitchen facilities are spot on and have a Nespresso coffee machine and capsule complimentary to use. The tea facilities in the apartment were excellent. Excellent location, the staff explained well and helped to plan our visit. Close to the metro and walkable to all attractions. On main Shopping street. Hotel breakfast was average but never mind. Fully recommended to all friends and families. will book again for next Rome trip.
NA
We enjoyed our stay. But, with the heatwave, and the air conditioning being preset at a low of 18C (unable to make it colder), we had a sleepless night due to the heat. We spoke to staff the next day and they were able to get it fixed.
The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and there is air con in the rooms. Great location for sightseeing in the city. Breakfast was not included in our booking , but we were able to have breakfast for a small extra fee, which we did on most of the days. The hotel is old fashioned and has lots of character , and is in good condition. The only issue was that is it accessed up two flights of stairs , which is not easy if you have walking difficulties.
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Cortina. It is really convenient for all the major sights, being only 15 mins walk from the Colosseum/Trevi Fountain/Spanish Steps etc. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Cleanliness of the hotel is to a high standard however the condition of some of the facilities could do with an upgrade like the showers. Towels were threadbare and small, so bring your own if you are precious about that. The bed was comfortable and there is air con in the rooms. Breakfast was served 7-10:30am and consisted of pastries, ham, cheese, bread, cereals, fruit, juice, croissants etc. The decor of the hotel is not modern, but more traditional and charming. Overall I would recommend Hotel Cortina for its great location and friendly service.
We stayed one night here and it was good. It's very close to the Rupubblica metro stop (A line), and a walkable distance to a lot of neat places. Our room had a couple steps that I kept tripping on, but that's a personal problem
Wonderful stay!
Hidden gem!
Very comfortable, spacious apartment tucked away in an alley off a major shopping street. It was easy to get transportation and walk about 15 to 30 minutes to some major sights. Difficult to find the place, must call the staff and they will come get you and bring you. Lots of restaurants nearby. We had a rental car and luckily a parking garage was next door that the hotel made arrangements for.
The hotel was cute and charming. It was difficult to find at first, as it is in a part of a big building, but once I checked in the host was very welcoming. It is in a fabulous location, walkable to a lot of attractions, and very close to the Metro and Roma Termini station. Wi-Fi worked the whole time. The water in the shower was a bit difficult to maintain heat wise, and the stall was small, but that’s my only complaint.
Fantastic place and a fantastic time. Special mention to the staff who assisted us each evening when planning our activities for the next day. There ability to offer additions or alternatives to our plans was exceptional, saving us time, money and ensuring we visited the best places at the best time.
Friendly staff, informative, helpful. Excellent location
Great location
Driver that picked us up was very friendly, checkin was quick and easy, staff are so nice .We were
The apartment was spacious, clean, and conveniently located. Staff was fantastic. The only thing that was disappointing was that the water pressure in the apartment was poor, which made showering very uncomfortable.
Fabulous hotel!!!
We were welcomed by Andrea on arrival. he was Very helpful and gave good tips on where to eat and things to do. The hotel and room Very clean and comfortable. Great location from Termini station. Great coffee shops near by. The hotel is on Via Naziinale which gave great access links to attractions. Simon and Angelo on reception were great and loved to chat. Overall I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Rome
Our stay in this apartment was perfect! We were blown away by the space and amenities- how lovely and modern the room was and impressed by the terrace!! what a gorgeous space!! Well priced, a brisk walk to sights such as trevi fountain just 15 mins away, which feels like nothing as you pass shops, cafes and restaurants to make the walk more pleasant. As young women, we felt very safe in the area. Couldn't be happier, would return and definitely recommend. The staff were also so lovely and helpful, helping with our very large and heavy luggage, and also by advising where we could eat near tourist spots- thank you for a lovely stay
Property was clean and well furnished.
Wonderful service, the people make you feel like at home. They recommended us many different places to visit. Mr Angelo, Mr Jacomo and Mr Claudio thank you for all your kindness.
Staff is amazing, perfect location and very clean, it was a great choice for our family vacation
We enjoyed very much our stay, host was courteous, location was great and room was very comfortable. We will definitely return.
This is an amazing property! So spacious and in the perfect location! You are walking distance from everything! The staff is so friendly and helpful. Gave us directions to everything we needed. If we come back to Rome we will definitely stay here again.
It is centrally located for those wishing to do tourism. Staff is very courteous. The only con is perhaps the maintaining a constant water temperature in the shower.
Excellent attentive staff. Very convenient location.
The host was super responsive and helpful. Great communication. 24 hrs entrance access with staff. Nice breakfast. Good location and restaurants around the area.
Great location, nice staff
GREAT entrance from the main road and the rooms are just enough. Good space, little balcony - great breakfast too!
excelent location, good costumerservices clean and safe place ,nice room ,good breakfast, have a great time, close to the metro and the termini station
Great location, can walk to most sights and lovely, helpful staff. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was tiny. We had four people in what is a three person room so very small for us with the extra bed but would be good for three people. Definitely try the gelato next door!
The internet access was unavailable for my entire 8 night stay. I could only access via the wifi of the restaurant downstairs, and only from the lobby.
charming hotel in super location
very happy with the hotel - great location - within walking distance of most sightseeing places/monuments. Very friendly & helpful staff at front desk and at breakfast. Lovely breakfast.
No WiFi completely for three nights
No wifi access completely for three nights stay. Believe there are more better value hotels in surrounding areas. Do your homework properly
Location perfect for tourists , walking distance from termini station
The entire place was a scam, photo did not match room at all, this place isn't even a one star hotel, I was so pissed upon arriving and see this place, a total dump, could not get out fast enough, found a great hotel after leaving there, made a crap situation a great save, you should somehow inspect your clients, don't know where you came upon this hotel but you would be better off not offering this on your site, had a low opinion of you after arriving there!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful with giving directions, answering questions and assisting with requests. Great central location. The room is small and so is the bathroom/shower. The bedroom floor is down 2 steps from the entrance and washroom. I kept tripping over the steps.
It was on a main Street, friendly service. Room felt very small.
Highly recommend this hotel and Marco was such a gentleman and an asset to the property. 6 weeks of travel and this was one of the best accommodation we had.
Great Location, Clean and Spacious Perfect
We really enjoyed our stay it was perfect for us as a family to have an apartment. The apartment itself was modern and well cared for. The hotel team were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The location was great and we walked most places (although the Metro station was at the end of the road if wanted).
Marco and Angelo are the best. Helped us move quickly through all the locations we had picked out to see.
Perfect for a City Break
Hotel Cortina is located in a central street of Rome whic
Great stay at Hotel Cortina! The staff is amazing! Angelo, Florian, the rest of the front desk, breakfast lady and housekeeping were all very friendly and helpful. I really liked the hotel because the room had a lot of character and was not your usual impersonal hotel room. Room was a good size, there were 4 of us and we were not squished. Bathroom was spacious. Air conditioning was adequate even during August (very hot). Location was fantastic! We walked almost everywhere including Colesseo, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc. We couldn't walk to Vatican, had to take the bus due to Metro under repair. There is a Coop grocery across the street, very convenient. Shops and restaurants abound on the same street or within a short walk. Breakfast was included and composed of cold meats, cheeses, eggs, pastries, yogurt and fruit. Cappuccino was awesome. My non-morning people family woke up everyday for the cappuccino. I would definitely stay again, such a great value for the price. Do not expect a big flat screen TV, you won't need it anyway you will be too tired from seeing all the sites and eating all the incredible food in Rome.
Great Hotel on a Big Street!
We loved our stay at Hotel Cortina! The men at the front desk were welcoming, helpful and accommodating! The hotel is just a few minute walk from the Metro station which was a big plus for getting around the city. The room was spacious, clean with a good-sized bathroom and closet for clothes. It also had a chair, bench and vanity in the room. The bed was insanely comfortable! The breakfast room was pretty small but they offered a great breakfast. Cereal, yogurt, lunchmeat, cheese, croissants and rolls with coffee, tea and juice. The hotel is quiet and situated on a main street in Rome with a lot of shopping, gelato stops and a few restaurants. It's about a 30 minute walk to Piazza Navona area and a 20 minute walk to Trevi Fountain area. The walk to Trevi Fountain & Spanish steps has some pretty big hills so be warned. There was air conditioning in the room but we would have liked it a few degrees cooler but it was very nice coming back in from a hot day!
The room for 4 people was small so be prepared. The bathroom was cramped too. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Can walk to location from train station and area around hotel is safe.
Very clean. Great costumer service, great location on one of the main streets, close to points of interest, very good breakfast, I’ll go back.
Perfect Apartment
A very well equipped apartment with lots of extras, lived it. The gentlemen at checkout gave out so much info for us on Rome it was very useful.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful
Nice hotel in the Opera / Termini area
Great hotel in an older building. Large room with bathroom. Modern comfortable mattress. Air con in the heat of Rome 36 degrees. Superb wifi. Friendly reception; good breakfast.
Wonderful apartment with a nice balcony to enjoy. Modern amenities. It is so nice its hard to get out and see Rome!
We had a great stay at this hotel with friendly and helpful staff and it was in a good location for the attractions we wanted to visit. The only negative for me was no coffee/tea making facilities in the room.
Friendly, clean and cosy hotel in central Rome
I was really impressed by the welcoming and helpful staff who spoke English well, the high standard of cleanliness, nice decor and the location. Some rooms were small and had no outlook, English tv limited but bathrooms were good and very clean. Breakfast was beautifully presented and varied cold choices. It was easy to walk to Termini and some sights and close to shops and restaurants.
don’t bother keep looking
Room was out dated and small. Air conditioning was broken and couldn’t open the window as it was a patio door which opened into a shared space. Bed was a very uncomfortable single. There was also no plug sockets in the room.

The lift was not working, we had 2 large suitcases (because my daughter was studying in Italy for 4 months and we were headed home), which were really hard to get up the stairs. Then, we tried going to bed at 10pm since we had an early flight - couldn't get to sleep because there was a lounge singer nearby (in the next room?!?!) that sounded like she was in the room with us. Not a great night of sleep. I'd pick another hotel next time - non va bene.
