Great for this money
I stayed in a single room and it was exactly what needed and what i paid for. A clean bed, tea, small tv, toilet and a shower. Nice smelling soap. Excellent location. A bit dated but for brand new amenities i would pay several times whar i did. It's clean and comfortable. And you gat a breakfast.
The 2 bed mattresses put together to make up one bed was a bad idea. My wife ended in the middle gap
Very small room . Different than pictures
Great Stay with a Few Noise Issues
I had a very comfortable stay at this centrally located hotel. The room was simple but well-equipped with everything I needed. It was spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. However, my room was on the ground floor near reception and the entrance, which made it quite noisy due to guests coming and going. On my first night, I was woken at around 2am by loud conversations at reception. When I went to check, I found it was the night receptionist chatting with their counterpart from the neighbouring hotel. The receptionist apologised profusely, but as noise travelled easily, I decided to buy earplugs for my second night. Thankfully, this solved the problem, and I was not disturbed again. The continental breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of options, including toast, pastries, meats, cheese, eggs, vegetables, yoghurt, tea, coffee, juice, and water. The breakfast room itself is quite small, with perhaps one too many tables squeezed in, but as it wasn’t overly busy during my stay, this wasn’t an issue. The staff were very polite and professional. When my room was serviced after the first night, it was done beautifully. Overall, a very good stay, and I would consider returning—though I’d request a room away from reception next time!
Great Location
Cabin room so is very small but cosy & Warm ( was January) , I heard no noise. Breakfast was okay but avarage. I would stay again though as Great location .
Great little hotel
Missed the last train from Euston so needed a bed for the night. What a lovely little hotel. Very clean, great breakfast and easy to Euston. Had a lovely nights sleep
I stayed for 4 nights. Great location. You can walk to oxford street. The staff were very helpful.
Squeaky doors
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Would recommend! Great location for UCL
Lovely stay ay The Cavendish, bonus was the continental breakfast which was included in the price. Room & bathroom clean & spacious. Nice touches were biscuits on the tea/coffee tray, hot chocolate & decaff coffee were available from the breakfast room. Staff friendly & helpful, quick & easy check in, walking distance to stations & attractions, would definitely stay sgain.
Hotel generally a bit “scruffy” and in need of modernisation. Small but clean room. Rather hot but appreciated being able to turn off radiator. Had to improvise to prop window open though! Would have been nice to have a bedside lamp and a water glass. Instructions for boiling water in breakfast room would be good! Friendly staff.
That’ll do
Service from front desk was nothing but great, and for a night after a business party it was great. The bed was very firm, which isn’t my preference and the breakfast disappointing
Small, clean, convenient
The room was small but clean, TV and desk, lots of USB sockets and a kettle. All I needed.
Good stay
Basic but comfortable
Good stay
Good location. Room was basic but comfortable.
Only choose that closer to where I work
The hotel was a great location and clean. However the hotel states it has 24/7 reception- there was no one there when I checked in or out. My window would not close and no hot water for a shower in the morning.
The manager , Sala, was very kind and helped with my bags. He arranged for me to have a ground floor room. I use a cane and it is difficult for me to climb stairs. Hotel Cavendish is located across the street from Waterstones book store which has a very good cafe and wonderful books.
The whole building needs refurnished. The windows are so old and single glazed, they’re crumbling. The net curtains were absolutely filthy. We paid for a double room and what we had was 2 singles pushed together, making for a very uncomfortable and restless trip for me and my partner. Breakfast was poor I do think at the price hot food should be available and if they refurbished it could be done. The only positive I could say was it was in a good location but that’s the only positive. The place needs refurbished and cleaned throughly.
For a budjet London it was ok, the room was clean enough and it felt safe both in the hotel and around the area. Only access was with your key card which kept other people out. Staff were ok, but a little chilly at breakfast in their approach. Breakfast was basic, boiled egg, cheese, cereal and tea and coffee. Good choice of alternative milks though. I'm not one to complain as I appreciate I read the reviews before booking so wasnt overwhelming suprised. Not likely to be staying again.
The room is like a box room also its very dirty, I recommend hotel .com take this hotel off their list, I stayed in many hotels in London over the yeras but this hotel was horrible, the bathroom is very dirty the bed was dirty aswell.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the location was perfect for exploring the area. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Very good Hotel
It is a very good hotel. I recommend you stay there. Staff great and service and decent continental breakfast.
Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful which made our stay more enjoyable.
Overnight business stay
Small single room but very comfortable.
Great location. Nice room and easy to work with staff.
Very outdated
Room tiny could even put arms out stretched as touched both walls!!, very stuffy and hot with no air even though there was a fan that I had to have on constantly. Had to leave a day early as couldn't bear another night there. Would not recommend one bit
Disappointed
The hotel was very depressing and needs up grading and modernisation. We was in basement and the outlook was dirty steps leading up to the gate. Shower was impossible to use being so short. Was just box room. Tv never came on. The only odious located not far from theatre but I wouldn’t call it 3 star sorry but need redecorating carpet looked dirty and fading. Compared to photos this nothing like that
Good stay.
We stayed for 1 night using it as our base. The hotel was clean, fresh bedding and towels. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was nice, just simple cereal toast ect. All fresh and plenty. For what we paid it was good.
When I first arrived, there was a sign directing me to the hotel next door to check-in. Apparently, there was only one person running reception for both hotels. If you were checking in at any point between 7am and 11pm, you had to go to the hotel next door. Both hotels were under renovation, which was not mentioned before. The advertised bag storage was an open closet that had no way to actually secure the bags there. Finally during check-in, the very pleasant receptionist said to drop my bag off and then come back to sign some paperwork - not a problem. Within five seconds of unlocking the door, I opened the door and it slammed into the table they placed behind it and stumbled over the flooring in the room. The flooring was installed without something to compensate for the fact that it sticks up enough to catch someone's foot. The room was unacceptable - the light's lampshade wasn't placed correctly and was skewed, the bed had no fitted sheet on it, the headboard was unattached, the bathroom had black spots on the wall, the cabinet holding the sink was deteriorating and was bubbled up from water damaged, the closet door was warped because of the safe that kept it from closing properly, and the worst thing was the door hidden behind a curtain. No where did it say on the listing nor was I told that my room would have a door leading outside; as a solo traveller, that's a huge security issue for me. I was only checked in for an hour before leaving for another hotel.
Everything ok
Lovely clean comfortable stay in central London
Good price for a great location. Kitchen can be noisy in the morning if your room is close to that area
Clean cheap and close to Euston
Hotel was good for the price. Seemed clean and tidy. Room was very small but adequate and had a TV and coffee/tea facilities. Bathroom was clean but possibly the smallest en-suite I’ve seen. Breakfast was limited but included in the price.
Suited my Purpose.
Average hotel, a bit dated and the bathroom needs updating. Breakfast ok, reasonable selection. Fine for a one night stay.
the room, wasnt clear, no shampoo even second day they did supply it after retuning late evening
awful awful awful
Souless stay...no one speaking to you at breakfast. I use the term breakfast lightly...tinned peaches and a hard bolied egg and toast. That's your lot. Room was absolutely awful....too hot basement room with no view whatsoever...except the mop and bucket that the cleaner had left out in the rain. Trust me...give this place a wide berth...I will!!!!!!!
NOT Recommended
Would not recommend this hotel. From the moment of arrival, the appearance of the hotel was old and dated. I had to go to the hotel next door to check in because there was no one at the desk. The room was small, which I am accustomed to when traveling in Europe but there was no desk or drawers and literally no place to put luggage. There was a small cubby (no closet door) with one hanger that didn't fit inside properly and a safe on the bottom, which was not attached to the floor of the closet. I was going to tolerate it but then I went into the bathroom. Old and dirty. To sit on the toilet, you had to sit sideways because the sink was in the way. The shower was so small, I could barely lift my arms and the worst part was the black mold on the walls in the bathroom. I stayed the first night and the next day went to the desk to check out. I told the clerk that I was checking out early, he looked at his computer, looked at me and said "Ok". Didn't bother to ask why or if there was a problem. I am in the industry and was appalled. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Great location - small rooms - lots of stairs
The hotel is fine. The rooms are small, which is to be expected. It's also hot and stuffy, which is something to bear in mind as summer approaches. They need to add plugs nearer to the bed and USB outlets would also be nice. The shower and bathroom are fine.
Great location, basic hotel
Stayed in a single room for a night. It’s a pretty small place really just for one person. Fairly clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast is pretty basic- cereal, yogurt, pastry. Don’t expect much from the hotel other than the great location.
Recommend 😊
Very comfortable and a great location
Friendly staff breakfast average i found bathroom very small and big step up into it was not ideal TV had no basic channels
Very good place for overnight stay!
The room is the size of a shoe box and for the amount you pay it isn’t sufficient. I understand it’s ‘London prices’ but I could barely move around in my room. As a result I noticed the carpet needed a really good hoover and clean. Good points: the continental breakfast was yummy and there was nice coffee. Staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is really close to the British museum and you can easily walk into the centre and explore. In the end the benefits outweighed the downside. Thank you.
Reasonably priced functioning clean hotel.
The hotel has minimum staffing and couples up with the hotel next door which at first was daunting. However the breakfast was laid out, the room was clean and the facilities were good for my requirements. Excellent location and a well functioning hotel. Some of the decor is tired particularly the carpets but generally a good hotel.
No lift.. and u need to carry urviwn luggages up..
My stay at Hotel Cavendish was terrible:
My stay was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever had in a hotel. The bed was literally a baby cot, completely insane, unfit and unjust for an adult guest. The room: oppressively tiny with poor ergonomics. I’m no giant but I could find leg room to do my toilet business. Ditto the shower cubicle. I stayed a whooping 10 days without a key to my room (the lock was down throughout and I had to 100% depend on the front office for access). For the price - it’s a mismatch - no value for money. What’s on the website is not what’s on site. #BuyerBeware
Easy to find, short distance from underground and short walk to the theatre. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room adequate for 2 night stay.

Quiet and convenient
Nice and quiet room in good location. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which had good choice of cereals, bread, toast, yogurt, croissants etc. dairy-free and gluten-free options were available. Would stay here again.
