Great public transport close by. Reception staff are wonderful, very polite and helpful with questions, excellent advice provided. Fantastic.
Enjoyed our stay and the staff was very helpful with information and restaurant reservation. Made the experience very pleasant.
Great Stay – Clean, Comfortable & Welcoming I was lucky to find this hotel last minute after an issue with another booking, and it was a great choice! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were welcoming and made the check-in process smooth. While it was a little out of the way and not within walking distance, it was conveniently close to a bus stop, making it easy to get around. Overall, a great stay, and I would definitely recommend it!
Everything was so nice especially the staff. The bed & pillows were a little hard
I was pleased with my stay.
Freindly Staff, Large Room, Convenient for Buses to town and out, but not so much nearby
Poor Customer Service
I booked this hotel as it was labeled as a 4-star and quickly realized, upon arrival, that it was not the luxury hotel it purports to be. The front desk attendant must have been overwhelmed that day, because, he seemed frustrated and rushed the check in process. He handed us the keys and didn't explain anything about breakfast, WiFi, etc...the normal. I visited Rome, because, I had an event that night and of course there was no iron in my room. I returned to the front desk to obtain one and he informed me that they were all checked out for the day by other guests. If you don't have enough irons for every room why would you check them all out without collecting them back? When I asked for a solution he didn't seem to care about my dilemma and I felt dismissed. As a result I went to my event with wrinkled clothes. I went back to my room and attempted to wash my face and the soap dispenser fell apart in my hand. The hotel was about 10 minutes from the Colosseum though so that was a good thing. It's a small budget hotel that's good for short visits, but don't have too high of an expectation. They didn't even ask how my stay was when I checked out, because, obviously they don't care.
did not like the idea that they don't turn on air conditioning - so can't turn on in room -all excuses as manager doesn't authorize to environmental issues -yet lobby had it
This was most definitely the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. First of all, the first room we got was very dirty so we requested a change. We got the change and it was not much of a difference. The comforter was dirty. The walls were dirty. The bathroom was dirty, and the room had a distinct smell. Right when we were trying to settle in, we noticed a lot of other things. The sink in the bathroom was completely broken and was dripping all over the floor. The toilet seat looked old and dirty even after we disinfected it, and the bidet had bugs coming out of it. Please stay away from this hotel. It is not four stars.
a
Charming and convenient
Beautiful hotel in a great location. We flew into Rome before heading to Amalfi. This was a perfect first night on our honeymoon. The bed was firm and comfortable. The bathroom had a tub and soaking in it after walking 25k steps around Rome was heavenly. The breakfast bar offered was really nice. Although the stay was short, would not hesitate to book again. Thank you!
My friends and I booked a place near FCO Airport for overnight stay. On arrivial at approximately 1pm on 6th aug the lady at reception was cold, unfriendly and abrupt. She clearly did not want to deal with guests of Black African descent ( in my opinion) as she was not the same with other non nlack African guests that arrived after us. However, when we returned at 3pm to check into our rooms it was a different experience. The gentleman and lady at the reception were very pleasant ,helpful,& couteous. The hotel rooms and stay was really nice , very clean airconditioned rooms, lovely shower, toiletries and towels. Kettle and beverages available on request. It is a shame the overall experience was made less than pleasant by one person
Did not enjoy stay overall
Yellowish, stained, chipped, and little smelly toilet seat totally did not go with the rest of the room which looked good and clean. It does cost more than 20 euros to replace it and people will not be grossed out to use the toilet. Front desk was nice. Would stay again but would hate to stay in the room with that toilet seat :)
Clean hotel.
Medium size hotel. 15 min walk from Garbatella Metro stop, or 25 min from Piramide Metro stop. Nice area. Functional room. Rome is massively expensive after covid so be preoaref to dish out over a 100€ for..nothing much really.
The property was exactly what we expected. Convenient and well located for a quick stop in Rome.
This property is what we were looking for outside of the city limits and therefore much more inexpensive. It was what we needed as a stopover after our incoming flight. But it is very much removed from the core of Rome and bus tickets are hard to buy. We walked about 10 minutes to bus station to buy tickets and we’re able tour trastevere. Didn’t feel comfortable bussing back so took taxi. The room we were given at first was not what we booked perhaps because of difference between what Europe and Expedia classify as a child. But front desk was very good to find an appropriate room. Beds were comfortable. Great shower. But room had been smoked in and we are pretty sure we heard rats scurrying in the middle of the night 😕 It was fine for having somewhere to sleep for a night but would not have an extended stay here.
Well placed for visiting attractions in central Rome. Great choice at breakfast. Helpful front desk staff.
Big, clean and family friendly
Very clean, big room, neat from city center and tours activities
Great room, very comfortable bed
The room was fairly large as was the bathroom, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was on a main roadway and hence there was a lot of noise (plus there was construction going on at the building next door which started up very early in the morning and was not appreciated). There were not many restaurant choices nearby within walking distance but that turned out to be not an issue, as the in-hotel restaurant was very good, and we ended up eating there both nights. The hotel is fairly convenient to the Apian Way, which we wanted to see. Breakfast was pretty good.
Location was perfect and the staff were very helpful
The staff was nice and the room was clean and comfortable. One big issue was that there was no hot water but that was seemingly due to a water supply issue that affected the area. Not sure how that works since there was still cold water. Really cold water. The room was too warm and the temperature control device wouldn’t let us change it. And the fridge wasn’t cold, nor was the water in the vending machine outside. So not super comfortable on the amenities side but the bed was nice and the room and bathroom were spacious.
Nice stay, great location, a bit too warm
I really like this hotel, simple, clean and friendly. I enjoyed the stay, but found the rooms extremely warm. The thermostat was set at 23 degrees, and even switching it off, I could feel the radiators very warm. May be nice to lower the heating a bit (definitely not a deal breaker)
It's not in the center of it all but it's a quick bus or taxi ride and the hotel is lovely, affordable, has a great breakfast and a wonderful restaurant for dinner. The rooms are clean and stylish and the showers are fabulous.
Good value for money
Good value for money. Renewed, comfortable, clean, easy park, good choice.
Bus across the street took you anywhere you wanted. Quiet in 714
Nice hotel great breakfast too far from city centre though
Good Stay!
Very comfortable. Along busy road but rooms are mostly quiet. Can take bus into the city which takes about 2ins. Good breakfast. Would definately recommend.
Remodeled was nice. Location could have been better
Excellent stay...very happy with everything Location was close to everything
Good, clean nice breakfast . Location easy to access
Great hotel.
Good location, close to public transports. Very clean and spacious room with the most comfortable bed. Breakfast: variety of pastries, fruits, cold cuts and cheeses, eggs and bacon, rolls. I would definitely recommend Caravel hotel.
A little out of the way but accessible by bus - 20 mins by bus from Rome Termini. Beds were comfortable and temperature of the room was great. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. A small fridge would of been a great bonus. Surrounding area isn't the prettiest the roads outside is very busy. A lot of the surrounding restaurants were closed for 2 weeks (Mid august) or shut on Mondays. Great for the price but I would book a hotel closer to city centre if not using a hire car.
The room was always hot, it looked like the AC was giving the same temperature regardless what it was showing in the display
One of the best ever accommodation that I stayed in Europe Grazie!
Great hotel for a great price located next to many bus stops to the main city.
The location is not close to Rome metro. Daytime Staff were great but the overnight shift gentlemen was rude and irritated- I read a lot of the complaints about this guy from the past reviews.Room is not sound proved you could hear people chatting from inside
The property has nice rooms and very close proximity to sight seeing areas. Very quiet. The hotel has a very good restaurant with nice food for tourist. We had dinner there three times on our three nights stay. The female server is probably the nicest I met in Europe. The staff are very helpful and friendly but not engaging. There is also a cafe nearby and the owner is very nice as well. The bar staff are very efficient. The rooms needed some touch up paint. There were scuff marks on the walls. The bathroom has mildew due to the moisture. The housekeepers should do a little bit more dusting on the wall by the head side of the bed. I can literally write my name from the heavy dust.
Pleasant
My stay at Hotel Caravel was nice and cosy.
Very nice!
Loved our stay at Caravel! Super easy check in and check out, very nice room exactly what we needed! The large shower/tub combo was a treat! Location is good for tour groups and buses but not the best location for walking. There is however a lovely little Italian pizzeria just a building down!
Good business hotel
Good business hotel. Not much fun
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean rooms.
Friendly staff, nice feel and comfy beds. Aircon wasn't great.
ROMArathon 2019
The hotel was pleasant and comfortable . Staff were very helpful especially Manlio at the front desk. The room was clean , well lit with good fresh linen. I would have liked a coffee station in the room or at least a kettle and some coffee though . Breakfast was good with the basics readily available . The hotel was a nice distance from the city centre taking on average 25 min by bus.The metro bus stop was situated 150m from the hotel . Overall a good stay !
Room was clean and in good condition. Staff was friendly. Close to local attractions. Could hear hallway noise and noise from other rooms.
The staff is very friendly very polite what i don't like is that the walls needed to be more insulated 1st night i was there a group of young people get to their room late i was able to hear everything the next night a family with a baby check in and the baby woke up like 3 times crying in the middle of the night i thought they were in my room lucky there was nof a honey mooners other wise we were going to part of it
Clean Nice breakfast Nice shower Far from city center No mini bar in the room No water kettle No tooth brush No bathrobe or slippers Extending the stay is much more expensive at the hotel
Long weekend to see the sights and the rugby
Good breakfast. Clean hotel. A little away from city center but transportation is close by.
Very good close to the sights, only about 6 euro to the colleseum
Very clean room, close to city center (if you don't mind to walk 15 minutes to metro)
The receptionist man was terrible nasty talking. Not sure why the hotel hire some one like him
Excellent hotel. Friendly staff, clean room and excellent breakfast. Also, close to bus stops and supermarkets.
Excellent. Hotel is close to everything. Really cool.
Reasonable for the price
The staff was excellent, very helpful. Spoke reasonable English. The room was okay, but it was warm. The a/c was regulated, but if I'd read the welcome brochure in the room, all I had to do was call and ask them to turn it down. Didn't discover that until I was about to leave. The bed was hard and not very comfortable. The location was terrible for getting around. Had to take a bus or taxi to get to any of the sites and I found the bus system difficult to figure out. I wouldn't stay here again only because of the location. The rest I could have lived with.
Nice for a quieter stay in Rome
We stayed here for our last few nights in Rome - it is a very nice and clean hotel, but I wouldn't recommend if you are looking to see the touristy sights in the city just because it is a little further away and not as accessible by train. It was nice and quiet for our stay and the staff was very helpful - quick to help with arranging a taxi if needed. The nearest Metro station is about a 10-15 minute walk around the corner, which isn't terrible if you don't mind the walk.
Excellent hotel
Excellent hotel, very clean with a large comfortable bed, brilliant shower. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is a 15-20min walk to nearest tube station with not much else around the hotel.
In reality hotel doesn't look as nice as on pictures - looks like they used photoshop or some kind photo editing. In reality rooms are very average. When I initially checked in I had issues with TV, bath tub and room floor was covered in crumbs (after a few days they cleaned it though). For each night you spent in the Hotel they charge 6 Euro extra tax. I also had a guest and for each night they charge $27 extra + 6 Euro tax for every night. So be aware of this extra charges especially if you are planning to have a guest. Receptionist that checked me in, was somewhat arrogant and had an attitude while I questioned all this charges. Later during my stay he was helpful though, probably he had a bad day on that day or something. Breakfast was great, fresh and had a good variety of options. Lastly, I would not rate this hotel 4 stars. It should be 3 stars considering rooms, location and stuff service.
Not convenient for visiting famous places
The location is not convenient if you would like to visit famous places in Rome. The air conditioner is a bit cold with 26oC as maximum that you can reach.
Short trip to Rome
Excellent hotel and a bargain . Room was more than i had expected and the shower was amazing. Having breakfast thrown in with the cost of the hotel made a great start to the day.
so far so good
Everything was great. Room service, housekeeping, breakfast etc.
Hotel is too far from all the main landmarks
The hotel is located on a busy Main Street. The closest Train station is about a 10-12 minute walk which could be quite dangerous at night as it’s a very dark area. Vatican it’s quite far about 40 mins on train (you have to transfer) plus the 10-12 min walk. Staff was very accommodating to me checking out late, which i appreciated very much. The breakfast buffet is just ok, nothing special about...just your typical continental style. No ironing board or iron in the room...you actually have to ask for one which is annoying. If you don’t mind the location then stay here but I’d suggest checking out the Monti area since it’s walking distance from the main landmarks and has the best restaurants and markets.
very pleasant stay in a hotel nearby Garbatella in Rome. The room was spotless and comfortable. The Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely, I would recommend this hotel.
Far from everything, 2 star hotel hhhhhhhhgggvvvvvvvvvvv
4 star hotel about 20 minutes from central Rome
Great Hotel with spacious roms and bath. Breakfast was great
Nice Place
The room was amazing, especially for the price. The metro is a hike to get to, but all and all a great hotel.
Brilliant stay, would highly recommend. Bit far to walk to centre but taxi only costs €7
Good quality hotel but location not brilliant.
Good hotel, friendly staff, good value but a better location would have helped this review. We arrived early but we checked in and got our room ok. The room was clean, it had a safe and plenty of room, not a huge amount of staff available but helpful when needed, for me the breakfast was good but my wife and daughter said one of the main things missing was toast, if they had a toaster that would have helped. The hotel location was the only down side if you don't drive, busses were a little erratic but buying tickets before hand was a chore, a tram we found was a great option about 1km walk away.
Comfortable stay
Professional staff and were helpful with our taxi bookings. Nice clean hotel and about 10-15 minutes drive to central Rome.
Not a safe area to walk around at night and no late night food options. No where near the main tourist attractions in Rome. The breakfast was nothing special, continental fruits and baked good. The smell wafted from the sewage through our bathroom which was unfortunate - not a big deal when the bathroom door was closed at least. OK for business travelers.
Price-wise it was a good option!
Here you should explicitly ask for any room amenities you need ... the room by default comes with no minibar, no coffee machine, not even a proper hair conditioning and bath gel. The breakfast is free of charge however, it is really basic (e.g., no simple scrambled eggs). I'd suggest to have an option for a better breakfast with an extra charge. Finally, during our last night there were couple of shouting in the corridors for about 1 hours while hotel stuff could not control the situation and it was really annoying. All in all not definitely a 4-star hotel. However, price-wise it was good!
Great place to stay at an affordable price
Nice hotel with very helpful staff!
Good hotel, excellent service
Great, would use again
Overall good experience
The hotel location is good, the bus station is a few minutes away but the metro station is 30 minutes walk. The room is spacious and clean even at check-in they gave us a room that smells smoke but they have changed it directly. The breakfast was poor and needs a lot of improvement.
Clean but a bit inconvenient
Price is very reasonable for such a clean hotel with decent free breakfast, although location is a bit inconvenient.
Good value, clean and friendly
Great stay. Good value for money. Breakfast was continental, good selection and plenty of it. Room was great, next to a busy road but quiet with windows closed and it has efficient air conditioning. Cleaning staff and lobby staff friendly. I would recommend for a hotel a bit further out of the city. It took us 30 minutes to walk to Circus Maximus past the Baths of Caracalla.
Nice Hotel close to bus transport
Good breakfast and helpful staff. Clean and large rooms.
The stafff was really so bad and un cooperative. it is just a matter of paying money.
Fantastic, will be back
nice staff, clean rooms, very good facilities
nice staff, clean rooms, very good facilities, price is very good
A good substitute hotel when you run out of option
The new furnishings and renovation helps to make the stay at the Caravel a positive one except that when I arrived into the hotel at 7am in the morning, they did not attempt to check if there were rooms available and insist that I come by to check in at 2pm. Was told to leave the luggage at the baggage area - self service; no tag nothing to ensure that the luggage is safe at their disposal. Anyone can go in and grab a luggage and walk off the property.
Clean recently refurbished and good value for money
Nice place, if you know how to get around
Not a bad place to stay if you know where you're going! Our room was clean and modern. The hotel is located outside of the main city centre, so you have to know how to get into the city. The two receptionists whom we spoke with to ask for directions to the city centre, or where to park, or even any insight into the Rome airport terminals (we were leaving that day), both either did not know the answers or had little interest in helping us.
Nice hotel with good connections
This hotel is clean and modern with air conditioning, free WiFi. Rooms are of a decent size, big comfortable bed nice bathroom with bath and rainshower. Your not in Romes city centre it's self but Hotel within 10mins walk to train stations with good connections to city centre. The only thing lacking would be a bar to get drinks of an evening but there's a street of restaurants and shops near by. Breakfast is ok cereal, bread, cakes nothing special but fills a gap!! Staff can tend to be abit rude and not friendly. We arrived late and was looking for somewhere to eat asked at reception but they didn't really want to help. In all I'd definatly recommend this hotel.
Modern and friendly
This hotel is very clean and modern. The service is excellent and the breakfast was nice. Our room was very spacious with a nice bathroom. The aircon works well. The hotel is located on a busy road, but you don't here any noise. It is about 1 km from the closest metro and 25 mins from airport by car. There are a few restaurants in the area also just a short walk. Great hotel to stay at, although the shirt walk to the train station is annoying on a hot day.
Nice Hotel not far from Rome Core
The Location was strategic and very close to the Rome Core Area!!! The Hotel Representatives were highly cooperative and helpful!!!! Their promptness was welcoming . Will appreciate my next stay also in the Hotel!!!!
nice upcoming hotel
Excellent hotel really enjoyed our stay. Would return good sized clean rooms well serviced
Very bad experience
Hotel staff were not friendly. Didn't provide bus maps.vague, sarcastic answers for location/tour queries. Wifi is only free for 30 mins even though it says wifi and breakfast included. No minibar, fridge or extra blanket. No room service and insanely cold rooms with no control in the room.
Should score higher, but door left wide open
The rooms were spotlessly clean and fantastic modern decor. Breakfast fine. Just a couple of issues, first we had emailed to ask for a quiet room, several weeks prior, but we were put on the main road. Police & ambulance sirens woke us several times. But our main complaint is that the cleaner left our room door wide open, we know this as bed was made when we returned. I don't mean unlocked or ajar; it was left wide open. Thank goodness we had placed everything in the safe. Reception didn't have much to say on the matter. Hence service scoring 1*
spacious room, bad wifi
The room size is very generous compare to other hotels we stayed in France & Italy, staff very helpful. Location is okay, a bit far away from metro, but there are buses taking you to the termini and other attractions. Two complaints: Wifi was not working on my floor (lobby is fine), and shower has a weird design that could possibly split water everywhere... but overall still good value
average
Worth the price
clean room and comfortable room
The hotel was very neat, clean and presentable. Our room was very spacious, tidy and i must admin, welcoming as it had a very modern feel. The shower was fantastic and it was one of the best sleeps we had on our trip as the bed was comfortable. Even the breakfast was great with a lot of options. Just a few things to take note of would include that while it was close to the train station, the area itself was very dead, nothing happening around it which left us with barely any eating options. The staff was neutral and not very interested in helping us find something open for dinner and kept suggesting we ate at the hotel restaurant, which we were interested in. With those two exceptions, it was a fantastic stay!
The hotel was new and comfortable, the internet did not work in the bedroom but was working in the lobby, the major problem is the location, not far from the center but sometimes the wait for the bus was long and it was in a residential area so no restaurants.
lovely balcony and nice price
In transit to airport
Used this hotel to stay one night in transit to airport to take an early flight the next morning. It is about a 20-minute walk to get to the Colisseum, so it is not very far, but not very close to the touristy area either. The hotel is very clean and very comfortable. The price was very, very good, so it was worth it. If you don't have hotels in the center of the city that are affordable, this is a very good option. Taxi rides are about 15 Euro from the Pantheon to the hotel, so it is not bad. They only drawback I found was that they charged for Internet access. Breakfast was very good, and included.
Very nice hotel
I stayed in this hotel for a week and I liked it a lot. Supermarket right behind the hotel. Subway 12-15 minute walk to station Garbatella. From there you can connect to eveywhere. Subway fares are 1.50 euro for a single trip. Taxi airport-hotel is €50. After spending a week there and getting familiar with public transport I took public transport to the airport: €1.50 subway + €8 train = €9.50, but had to walk the road to the subway with the suitcases. Historical sites nearby. The map the hotel provides you helped me alot. No ironing board on the room or in hotel in case you want to put on your nice shirt in fashion Rome...Breakfast is normal/simple. No gym in the hotel.
Excellent Modern Hotel
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and really loved this hotel. It is quite a ways from the historic center of town but this can be beneficial if you want to avoid huge crowds of tourists and all of the clutter that follows them. The neighborhood is mostly a locals neighborhood but is conveniently located near bus and metro lines and good restaurants and markets. If you want to be out of the hustle and bustle this is a great place to stay. Also the hotel has an amazing restaurant inside with 4 star quality food for 2 star prices.

Had a great room on my second visit, very spacious and lovely bathroom. Staff once again very friendly and helpful.
