Really pleasant welcome and all staff were very happy to help. They even went to the trouble of blowing up balloons reading ‘happy birthday’ and left on the bed for my wife’s birthday-completely unprompted and a lively surprise for her.
This was a great place to stay. Very clean and staff was outstanding and very polite. I would recommend this area and it pretty much in the Heart of Rome and easy to get to all the sites Rome is known for. All walking distance expected The Vatican but the Metro is close and gets you there within 20 minutes.
Nice and helpful staff and nice area to Stay as close to rails and bus links.
Make sure that the previous guests or housekeeping have closed the exterior windows- very loud noises from streets below. Lobby and breakfast area smells like mildew and must. While there is a tiny elevator there is a flight of stairs in and out of the hotel- not great if you are staying a while and have heavy luggage. Staff were very friendly. Bedding was clean and bed was comfortable. The wall under the sink in the bathroom was disgusting- marked up by dirty mops strings for a long while. Housekeeping and maint staff would have very loud conversations in the halls and woke us up many mornings. Front desk and breakfast staff were very nice. Based on the rate we would consider staying here again. Location was really good and the bed was good. Bring ear plugs and insist on the bathroom being cleaned. Room has a small fridge so we stocked it with breakfast and lunch items from the market down the street.
Cleanliness is the reason I didn’t give 5 star. Floor and bathroom wasn’t clean even we checked in. And the 3 nights we stayed bed was bed and that’s about it. Front desk employees were helpful and professional.
Not many amenities, no gym, renovating and was not stating that in their website. small rooms
Beyond amazing and friendly staff!
The hotel is a good base to explore Rome. Although the interior is a bit dated the rooms are clean and the staff are very friendly.
Location and clean facility
The hotel is very clean, the staff is super helpful and kind, the room is nice with a small terrace. The breakfast has enough options, and everything is fresh and tasty! The only issue - the bathroom is small and fhe toilet is situated very close to the sink so if you’re tall there is no place for your knees.
Staff members were friendly. We paid for daily breakfast, but it didn’t start until 730, so when front desk found we had plans early one morning, they packed us a light breakfast with water bottles. Very thoughtful, my husband and I really needed the sustenance for that morning. Right by the opera house, there were a couple of times that I heard what sounded like someone practicing their vocal cords, it was pretty cool. Close to the termini station, attractions, shopping and restaurants.
Nice base for Rome
We had a nice stay at this hotel. It was comfortable but could do with updating in some areas, such as carpets and decor. The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a nice selection and the pastries at breakfast were delicious. We stayed in room 102, which was supposedly a Deluxe Double. It was small and didnt look like the pictures that were advertised. Unfortunately we couldnt get in and out of the bathroom if someone was selecting clothes from the wardrobe. However, it was nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was a about a 15 minute was into the main shopping area.
Very nice
Good hotel
The staff were excellent and very helpful, and the location was convenient for our needs. The only real complaint I had was the breakfast was somewhat lacking from what I'm used to.
Lovely hotel within walking distance of the highlights of Rome. Reception staff amazing. Helped with any request. Breakfast buffet was nice and staff friendly and helpful.
Plumbing system needs to get fixed
A lovely boutique hotel within walking distance of attractions. Staff were very informative, professional and polite. Great value and would definitely recommend!
Goid breakfast along with good servixe
Beautiful hotel very unique. Yummy breakfast and great service.
Great convenient stay in Rome
Super convenient location in Rome, very walkable to all the major and minor sites. The hotel (along with a few sister hotels close-by) offer free tours and events in Rome with their own guides which are worth trying. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast fare is very good with long hours.
Staff where fantastic very helpful and nice.
Beware if you have a car
The listing says parking available -the concierge when we checked in knew nothing about it . There is no Parking g attached to the hotel - which made this difficult . I never would have booked this hotel if I had known non parking . The beds were comfortable the rooms were small but well appointed . We enjoyed the breakfast
It is an older boutique style hotel but felt ver luxurious. The bed was comfortable and the room was lovely. It is on a smaller side street, but walkable to many stores and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. There are a choice of stairs or a very small elevator to get up and down from the rooms. The lobby is downstairs, so you have to go down a set of stairs coming in and going out the front door (no elevator). The breakfast was lovely with lots of choice.
Great Hotel in an great location. 2 metro and bus stops in walking distance, lots of restaurants and convenience stores near, great staff and great breakfast. Had a great stay, would go right back.
We loved this boutique hotel. We could have gone with a larger modern hotel but we wanted to actually feel like we are in an Italy. The room was great. We got the terrace suite and what stood out the most was the exceptional customer service we got from all the front desk staff. The smiles, the positivity, the excellent assistance…. I would absolutely come back !! They were all genuine and kind and patient. The staff makes this hotel excel above the rest !!
Great location clean and convenient
Close to train station so quick to get to. It's a bit older so the facilities in the bathroom especially are a bit of a weird layout. The staff were awesome and the programs offered were great. We highly recommend the free walking tours at night. Easy walk to a ton of restaurants.
Excellent staff, location, and superb breakfast. I highly recommend the hotel and look forward staying there again.
Great, super helpful front desk staff.
Property was nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. Room seemed a bit dated and we had trouble with the TV as had very limited signal. Breakfast was OK and the hotel offered free experiences like a wine tasting evening in the hotel bar, which we really enjoyed. Location is good, within decent walking distance to the train station.
Lovely Hotel, the staff is amazing, we had a great experience staying here. The area was perfect, you can pretty much walk everywhere. Restaurants and shopping were fantastic as well! We will be back!!
Historic building, close to all attractions
We stayed here for 6 nights. The staff were friendly and so helpful. We needed to print some tickets and they helped with that, as well as giving us a few restaurant recommendations after we checked in quite late. We had a room overlooking the street so it got noisy at times but it wasn't anything we couldn't deal with. The only issue with the room was when it started raining, and the sound of water dripping outside somewhere became too much, but again, headphones and music sorted the problem. The room was spacious and the ac worked perfectly which was great when we aren't used to hotter weather in October back home. Overall a grand trip in a lovely hotel.
Perfect
Room very nice, breakfast very good
The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel itself was located in a walkable part of the city with restaurants, shopping and site seeing locations close by.
Shika at the reception was very nice and friendly. We cannot say the same about the dining room staff....
Ubicación
This is area is under construction so there is a lot of traffic. It is convenient to walk to restaurants and cafes.
The Britannia is so charming! It was very clean and the room was very well appointed. The A/C worked great and our room was quite spacious. The bed was really comfortable and we slept well all 4 nights we stayed there. The breakfast buffet was great and had many hot and cold items to choose from. Most of all, we can't say enough about the helpful and friendly staff. They were outstanding and really helped to make our holiday in Rome special. We will definitely be back.
Staff was courteous, but recommendation to sister hotel’s rooftop bar was ill-advised. Lobby common rooms are small and uninviting. Bathroom was very nice but a ceiling access had been left open. Television reception was uneven the night we were there.
The property wasn't quite what I expected. It's located very close, about a 10 minute walk, to Roma Termini so using local transit was a breeze.
Great location. Great staff
Staff was so friendly. Neat old hotel with lots of character.
Nice hotel and decent value for the area. Breakfast was good. Staff tried their best with a few issues. Air con in our room was set to 18 which made for a chilly night.
Staff is the best. Great breakfast and prepare a lunch box for us since we had to leave early
Friendly staff, safe street, great breakfast, beautiful hotel and amazing restaurants near by! Lots of attractions walkable!
My husband and I had a great stay here for 4 nights. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and the AC worked great. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It has an elevator, which was very helpful. It’s an older building as it’s Rome, so it has some character, but I enjoyed that. The hotel was located off of a large street with plenty of shopping and good restaurants nearby. If I ever go to Rome again, I would happily stay here. Highly recommend!
The property was old but the well-kept.
Great location Friendly staff Very nice rooms
Close to everything- church, restaurants and shopping
Very good hotel
The property staff were fantastic and very friendly. The cleaning during the stay was very poor, barely any cleaning occurred including in the bathroom, other than trash removal. It does not look like they put in new towels. The floor was not cleaned at all during my stay and the rest of the room was not touched other than doing the bed.
Nice place, would recommend
Day 1 - we were assured early check in but had to push yo get it Day 1 - Found a wet towel to put on the floor for when showering Day 2 - Asked for baby bottles to be washed they were not washed properly on 2 occassions Day 3 - No hot water in the shower. Day 3 - Before we even checked out hotel staff opened our room door for cleaning rather than knocking first. Hotel is very understaffed.
It was a great place to spend time with family.
Only thing I didn't like was the breakfast that much, but everything else was fine. Staff was very helpful and courtesy.
It’s an excellent well maintained property with great service from the staff. Appreciate the hospitality. Location is very convenient, walkable and lots of shopping plus transportation options around it. Breakfast with smiley staffs felt like a VIP🙂
Really nice little hotel in the heart of Rome. Walkable to pretty much majority of all attractions. Very comfortable for solo traveling!
Really enjoyed our time at the property and staff were really helpful in navigating the city.
I was disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The place felt old and dirty, far from what was advertised. The photos online are heavily photoshopped and don't reflect the reality of the rooms. My bathroom mirror even had a stain that eerily resembled a skeleton. Overall, the experience was subpar, and I wouldn’t recommend it.
Excellent staff! Friendly, helpful, and all spoke clear and fluent English. The hotel is in a historic building but still has all the amenities we needed, especially AC! The breakfasts were delicious, and the location is within walking distance of Roma Termini train station.
Breakfast was average. They could better. They should have yogurt in containers not in a bowl and Fresh fruit.
Our first trip to Rome, so we were concerned about where the best location would be for everything we had planned. This hotel is an inexpensive taxi ride to all landmarks, and in a nice quiet area near plenty of restaurants.
I enjoyed my stay there. There’s an AC in the room which is very important since I visited during summer
This hotel was in a nice area, within walking distance to a lot of the main tourist sites in Rome. We booked this hotel for the deluxe double room because I thought the pictures online looked really nice and spacious. Unfortunately when we got there our room looked almost identical to the basic room listed here. The AC barely worked the room was very small. We talked to the front desk and they said it was a deluxe room and that they have many different kinds and that the basic room was even smaller. I was pretty disappointed in this because I paid a lot of money for the beautiful, colourful room in the pictures and the room I got looked like the basic one, very plain and small. It would have been fine if it was cheaper but I paid a lot of money for a 4 star hotel and this was definitely not it.
Well located. Good staff. Very dated property. Needs refurbishment.
Nice hotel
This is not a 4 star hotel. More like a 2. Rooms were very small and thats ok but the ac never worked properly. The receptionist went above and beyond to help us lending us a fan but it was still warm in the room.
This is a gem of a small, boutique hotel in Rome on a lesser traveled street, so not a lot of traffic. The rooms are classic and tastefully decorated, on the small side but still very comfortable. The beds are queen-sized for two, not full-sized as indicated in reviews for some other hotels. They have a lovely restaurant for breakfast and the wait staff as well as front desk staff is welcoming and friendly. We loved the walkability of this location to many sights, restaurants and shops and grocery store to pick up snacks and libations. To get to sights further away, & also to and from the airport, the front desk arranged for our car service. Their recommendation for a restaurant our first night in was most enjoyable and they arranged our reservation. Our flight got in early in the morning, so we had time to kill before we could get the room, but we were pretty tired from a long flight. No problem for them to hold your luggage securely until the room is ready, but on reflection, we would have booked check-in for the day before so we could go straight to the room that morning to rest. The hotel is reasonable in rates, so it definitely would have been worth booking the extra day. I would definitely go back to this hotel next time I go back to Rome.
Roman Charm
We reserved a standard room for a charming stay before embarking on our cruise. The hotel is aesthetically pleasing and exceptionally well-maintained. The rooms are compact, yet they contribute to the hotel's original allure. While certain facilities, such as the bathrooms and some room features, have been renovated, the hotel's charm lies in its preservation. The breakfast was delightful, offering a diverse selection of delectable options. The hotel staff demonstrated remarkable accommodation by assisting us in arranging transportation from the airport. A driver was waiting for us with a sign displaying our names, which provided a great sense of relief. The staff was highly professional and courteous. Although the air conditioning was not as effective as desired, this is understandable considering the building's age. The surrounding area felt exceptionally safe, and it was just a short walk to Termini, where we could catch our train to Civitavecchia. Extra note, if I were not traveling with my mother, this hotel would provide an adequately romantic setting for a couples' trip.
We had a a nice stay, the only downfall was the elevator not working during the evenings.
The staff were very nice and accommodating. The only reason for giving a four star instead of a 5 star would be the mold in the shower. The hotel overall was nice.
My husband and I stayed here for several days before we went on a cruise. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond with their helpfulness and kindness - they even arranged a car to pick us up from the airport and another car to drive us to the cruise port. The hotel was clean, just beautiful, and I loved how it was in a quiet area of the city. We loved the private terrace off of our room - it was a wonderful surprise that made our first stay in Rome all the more memorable. The morning breakfast was delicious and the coffee was one of the best I’ve ever had. I loved our time here and can’t recommend this hotel enough. When we visit Rome, we will be staying here again!
Convenient, clean, friendly, good location
Great location.
The hotel is in a great location to walk around to tourist sites while also being easily located near the subway. This property is surrounded by amazing dinning options (Tosca was amazing and a great start to our trip)!! The staff were extremely nice and helpful. I highly recommend this option.
Nice hotel, Central AC need to be upgraded.
2-night stay in Rome
Excellent hotel, staff on reception were very welcoming and helpful, the hotel itself is fantastic with loads of interesting features. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. A 10 minute walk from the main train station and well placed for all the major tourist attractions. Would definitely go back
Space was very cramped, toilet did not work properly, convenient location and great breakfast.
The room is small but staff and customer service are THE BEST!
Beautiful
Room was quite small but beautiful
The property is very well located, on a quiet street witheasy access to bus and metro station, and relatively close to main attractions. The only issues were the AC not cooling it properly and the mattress was not in the best shape, bit for a few days when temps were not so high we could handle it, not sure how the AC will hold during summer days.
Excellent staff!!!
The Best
It was amazing! We stayed overnight on April 16th. Hotel Britannia arranged all our transportations from the airport to the hotel then from the hotel to the cruise terminal. When we came back from cruising our hotel again made an arrangement for our transportation from the terminal to our hotel. Everything went smoothly as far as our transportation arrangements. Hotel Britannia did an outstanding job for our transportation to and from. The front desk clerks were helpful and very friendly. Their breakfast was delicious and lots of food selections. They even surprised us with a bottle of cold Prosecco. The front desk people were promptly answering all questions whether by texting, email or by phone. This hotel is a hidden treasure in Rome.
Dinning and bar area need updating.
The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. On our arrival, the property was well-kept and clean, and they even offered us a welcome drink. This hotel and its partners offer free travel guide experiences (at no cost besides gratuities), which was the best perk of staying here. We joined several walking tours with Virgilio and learned so much more about Rome than if we had stayed somewhere else. We are incredibly happy that we chose to stay here and will recommend to our friends from the USA to stay here in the future. Our checkout time was prior to breakfast hours, and the staff even offered us a to-go breakfast and coffee to be ready at checkout and lined up a taxi for us - 5/5!!
Lovely staff at this hotel. And they offer excellent free tours to show you around their city, which are done with a brilliant guide who is extremely knowledgeable about Rome. And will show you things you would probably miss out on.
Wonderful property
I Recommend This Hotel
Excellent customer service. Breakfast was outstanding. Our room was clean but the only thing is you could hear loudly people from their room.
Staff very good and helpful.
I picked the hotel as it was close to both the Station Termini (10 mins) and also most of the main sites of central Rome (10-15 mins). On arrival the staff were very friendly and able to offer lots of advice on places to visit. The room itself was quite spacious for a hotel room in Rome and also very quiet considering its central location. Room was in good condition and clean as well as having what was advertised. Welcome drink at 1800 was also a nice touch! Breakfast offered lots of choice, and the ability to leave baggage after check out an added bonus. Overall a charming boutique hotel with character in a historic building coupled with very friendly / helpful staff, espcially Bernadette.
Fine for a quick stay
The hotel is well located easy to walk to the main colosseum and sites of Rome. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was fine but not much selection. And the hotel itself is a bit dated but fine.
Centrally located with very good easy access to metro and buses. Stylish hotel with all the amenities and decor to match.
First and last time here. Staff was absolutely the worst.
This hotel was the only hotel we stayed in Italy that decorated our room for our honeymoon. The staff was efficient and so nice. Would definitely stay here again!
I wouldn’t say this is a 4* hotel it’s quite dated in its decor & would benefit from modernisation in furnishings, some of the furniture looked worn making the chair/foot stool seats look dirty, room was otherwise clean and staff very friendly. Outside of the hotel there were groups of kids across the road every night which could be unnerving when arriving back to the hotel in the evening, location good for station/metro and main attractions about 15/20mins walk away
Very nice and wonderful location
