The property is in a good location, close to shopping and very walkable. It was a bit of an older building and there was an issue with the window where the screen was broken and letting in mosquitoes but was ok once we addressed it. The staff seemed friendly and it felt like we got some value for what we paid.
I liked the convient location of the hotel. Staff very helpful and there was always a member of staff around. Breakfast good
Wonderful hotel near everything
The only downside is that our room didn’t have a fridge
Good location and helpful staffs
It's pretty small and the facility is kind of old (the pictures doesn't really represent the actual condition of the hotel). The breakfast was good though.
Nice stay
Clean and tidy hotel. Ideal for a short break
Sadly this isn't a mid-range hotel as expected, it is really quite dated and I feel some of the pictures are misleading. We were given a Superior room that had damp on the walls, mould in the shower and really old furniture with a door handle almost hanging off the wardrobe. Felt more like a basic hostel. When we raised this with reception we were able to move to a nicer room with a modern bathroom, it was much smaller though. Also, be aware that only 3 superior rooms have a balcony, so you'd be very lucky to secure one of them. Overall a pretty disappointing experience but it did the job for two nights. The location is the main selling point, everything you need (station, restaurants, Old Town, beach) is within 10 mins walking distance. Breakfast is ok but the room it's served in is very busy and noisy.
Great
This hotel is over priced for what you get. The hotel is old and dated. I had paid for a superior room as this showed having a balcony, on arrival there was no balcony and was told there are only 3 in the whole hotel. I'm my original room there was a horrible smell, paint peeling off the walls and a very dated bathroom. There is a lot of noise from the streets outside and also you can hear people's conversations in other rooms, either they were very loud or the walls are very thin. The breakfast was very poor and on the last day I didn't even eat there. The hotel is not worth the money that is charged.
Great Place to Chill In Nice
Perfectly located between Old Nice and the Beach. Lots of services nearby, a breakfast that was more than ample, sidewalk seating for breakfast or drinks. Staff very accommodating, kind and interested.
Very nice for the price
I come to Nice annually; this was my first stay at the Boreal but I would definitely return if it maintains its reasonable pricing. It looked smart and cared for and the desk staff were polite and welcoming. My room was comfortable and a reasonable size for the price. The only downside was the noise on Saturday night with bars and restaurants on the street - but the other nights I was there (till Wednesday) were all no problem.
The property is in the middle of everything-the train station at 10 min walk as well as major points of interest at 10-15 min walking distance.
Be sure to ask where your room is located. My room was in a part of the hotel not serviced by elevator, so I had to carry my suitcase up a flight of winding stairs.
Good location
Very good location close to metro station, good breakfast selection. Triple room was pretty small, bathroom needed attention, grout discoloured, silicone mouldy and fittings loose.
Boreal
Great central location to train station and beach area. Good clean hotel
I think the breakfast hot water for tea is to be improved.
Good value!
Friendly staff, decent breakfast, small but clean room
Solo in Nice
Beautiful hotel. Great location and delicious breakfast. There are only two negative things, no elevator and the bed was hard.
Friendly
Clean, friendly, good location
Good location for exploring Nice
Very central and easy check in. Room quite small but managed. Curtain torn and some mould in the bathroom which needs addressing. Air conditioning good and relatively quiet. Breakfast was simple but enough to set us up for a day of exploring beautiful Nice. Only real negative was the advice the reception staff gave in regards to getting a bus to Villefrance-sur-mer; marked the map in entirely the wrong place which led to us wasting 45 minutes searching and walking to get the correct bus stop.
The location was the best part about this property; a short walk to the beach and Old Nice, plus near plenty of good restaurants (and gelato). The lobby of the hotel is nice, but the rooms need a major refresh. Bare walls, weird shower, and generally not very clean. I was traveling with a colleague, and mosquitos somehow made it into both of our rooms and we woke up with bites on our faces. My colleague also found someone's thong in his close (true story). The last negative was that the breakfast was pretty low quality. Not a terrible place to stay, but probably won't be going back.
All excellent, including WiFI
Great location
This hotel is in a great location near the train station and the beach (both about 10 minutes away). Also, one of the main shopping streets is at the top of the road, and there are some great places to eat nearby. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and there is a good choice for breakfast. I would definitely stay there again and I would recommend it.
Hotel staff were professional, friendly and attentive. Hotel is clean, quiet and safe. Room I’ve stayed at has lovely decor and was comfortable. This hotel is nearby shopping area, restaurants, cafe, beautiful rooftop bars, it’s also well connected to public transport and nearby attractions to visit. Highly recommended.
This hotel is in a perfect location for both modern shops and a stroll to the Old Town. The tram from the airport is a few yards away as is another tram to the station. Staff are friendly helpful and efficient. Very good breakfast selection for a daily charge. Clean and well presented.
First time here, was very satisfied. Really, nothing bad to say about the facility or employees. Enjoyed my stay.
Central location, close to dining, shops and getting about for a great vacation
Great location, easy check in and out, wonderful staff.
Central location, good rooms and helpful staff.
Had a great stay here!! Amazing location, so clean and had everything we needed. Not problems whatsoever
Hotel Boreal is an excellent value for a family. The hotel is located near restaurants, shopping, and the beach. My trip was made special by the accommodations at the hotel. First, when our plans changed in Paris they accommodated us to arrive one day earlier. The room has wood flooring instead of carpeting, which helps the cleanliness. The staff is friendly, serviceable, and multilingual. In our case, they provided laundry service, replenished the coffee/tea every day, arranged our taxi to the airport, and arranged to send me a hat that was left behind after we left. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience at the hotel. We have only good memories of our trip to Nice.
Clean, affordable and great location
The rooms have wood floors. I much prefer wood instead of carpet. The bed is comfortable but the pillows are not. The shower enclosure does not cover enough to keep water from splashing all over the floor. At least I cleaned the floor every time we showered. The location is convenient to everything in Nice. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
This is the BESY location for metro, train, gettin to the Old City, everything is with easy walking distance. The staff is helpful, kind, knowledgeable and efficient. My room was perfect for a 12 night stay, decorated well and quiet. The front desk people became my friends during my stay.
Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel in center of nice. Convient to tram bus or train. Room small but spotless clean. Very comfortable bed. Staff very helpful. Will definitley go back.
Good Hotel in Great location.
Great Hotel for price. Good location 5 mins from front and next to shops. Staff really helpful and rooms ckean and tidy. Would stay again.
Located just around the corner from where the new no2 tram into Nice terminates. So it's only 1€50 and about 15 mins from directly outside the airport doors. 3* and very French in appearance. So don't expect slick and moden. However do expect a warm welcome, lift or stairs to every floor, good aircon and tea/coffee in your room. Comfortable bed and very clean all round. Expected a continental b'fast. So lovely scrambled eggs and bacon were a bonus. Short walks to the old town, seafront, or main train station for a trip to Monaco.
Lovely hotel, great location, friendly staff. There isn’t a bar for a drink at the end of the night & the rooms are small ok for one person but two would be tripping over each other.
Very good location and near new tram stop. Staff are very friendly and helpful. In nice street next door to a cafe , restaurant and healthy supermarket.
fine hotel.recommended
Hotel must announce, that lift only useful for up floors and that access to low floors(at least two) only via stairs. All the rest was OK,especially size of room, friendly stuff and place of hotel.
Pleasant Stay
The room we had, room number 501, was specious and clean. We were perfectly located for the main sights and tram network and the breakfast was good for 10 Euros per person per night. A very pleasant three star hotel.
Great location for getting around Nice and rest of the Cote de Azur.
Lovely Hotel
Hotel Boreal was a nice hotel in a great location. The hotel itself is nice with rooms on the smaller side, but enough space for us as a couple. There are a few restaurants just as you step outside the hotel, or you can walk up and down Jean-Médecin with plenty to eat. Also, you can easily walk to the Promenade des Anglais in about 10 minutes where you can find plenty to do. The staff was also nice and helpful with information.
Great hotel
Hotel was perfect for our long weekend, beds were super comfortable and air conditioning was great! We had a little balcony so we got to enjoy our morning coffee sitting out. Even though our room was at the front of the hotel it was very quiet, there wasn't any loud noise from the road. The beach is less than 10mins walk, 2mins walk from the main shopping street. So much choice in café's and restaurants all close to the hotel. Great hotel for exploring a beautiful city!
Very central location, clean and very good breakfast
Very good location
This hotel is very well situated in centre of Nice and offers very good value for money, even if rooms are small.
Perfect for a short break in Nice, easy walking distance of the main train station, the promenade and the delights of 'old town' Nice. Staff were very friendly and the room whist not massive was in good repair and spotlessly clean as we're all the public areas. Couldn't ask for more from a 3* hotel.
Although it has a slightly outdated decor, the hotel was well maintained and in a good location. It was very near to the promenade and shops.
Good location, very clean, nice and helpful staff. Good deal for the money..
Great location, within walking distance to the Nice Promenade and train station. Facilities were basic, but the hotel is very clean with a friendly service.
Everything was clean, the room was perfectly quiet at night and you are close to everything. The only thing my husband didn't like was there was a "Sports Channel" listed on the door for one of the channels on the available tv stations. This did not exist. He really wanted to see the tennis tournament going on in Rome we just left, otherwise tv would be a non-issue. If you need tv, be prepared for very few stations and only in Italian. Does not have typical "cable fare."
Good
Central location
I stayed 3 days in this hotel. It was a clean a comfortable hotel.I could walk everywhere, I.e., old town, museums, promenade etc. I also took a bus for €1.50 to Eze village and Monte Carlo. There are many cafes and restaurants close to the hotel. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.
Stay good, but the ac did not work...and no fridge in the bedroom
Fresh oranges for you to squeeze at breakfast a lovely touch and large choice of food although quality of food low and hot food inedible. Staff helpful and polite although rather brusque at breakfast and a calmer approach would have been welcome. Horrible view of air conditioning units from bedroom window which was rather depressing.
Hotel clean and comfortable. Staff could not have been more helpful. Hotel brilliantly situated for shopping, and tourist attractions. Only drawback was lack of parking facilities. Traffic and parking was a nightmare. Beware motor bikes and scooters, especially the latter who seem to totally ignore traffic signs and pedestrian crossings. Weather beautiful at this time of year. Don't think Nice in tourist season during summer would be half as good.
Nice hotel cafe right next door and great location
Nice location and reasonably priced. Clean friendly and right in the heart of town
Decent
We were price conscious so im not sure if we should complain about how small the room was and no working AC. Sign in room says if you open window youll get mosquitoes and the sign is correct. Overall not a bad place. Clean room nice people good location
The hotel is right at the city center, close to almost everything. Staff speaks English, polite and helpful. The room was overall basic and clean except for the balcony wherein the chairs and table were full of dust we have to wipe it clean ourselves. We appreciated arriving to a clean and orderly room straight in 4 days except on the very last night of our stay when my husband nearly jumped out of bed upon seeing something crawling on the sheet which turned out to be a bed bug. It was just a lone bug (so far ) but it definitely took awhile before I was able to convince him it’s safe to sleep again and it’s just a few more hours to checking out anyway. Except for all these aberrations, we were happy with our stay overall.
This hotel is in an ideal location to walk to the beach and sights in Nice
Language is not a problem. Cleanliness is wonderful. I have never asked for any help or service of any kind that they have not been able to provide or supply, (and a lovely and well prepared Petit déjeuner).
Excellent location - less than a minute from the main tram route through the city centre. Just a ten minute walk to the fabulous seafront and a 15 minute walk to the railway station in the other direction. Very helpful friendly staff.
Lovely Hotel
Lovely Hotel just off the main road but rooms out the back are quiet. 10 mins from old town and sea. Shops and restaurants all around and nice helpful staff. Would recommend.
The staff was nice and very helpful. The rooms are very small, but cozy. The location is great; as it is in a walkable area and located in a shopping center close to lots of restaurants, shops, the tram, supermarket, and attractions.
Excellent Venue and Service
Once again, my stay was very enjoyable. The hotel is within easy reach of all the major attractions and the service is excellent. I have stayed at Hotel Boreal many times and have always been very happy with what it offers. It is my hotel of choice whenever I visit Nice.
It’s a great hotel with a very nice staff. It’s walking distance to the major shopping area. The only thing that could be improved is breakfast offerings.
Boreal in Nice is Very nice!!
Excellent location a 15 minute walk from the Railway station. 2 minute walk to main shopping centre and 15 to the beach. Staff were helpful. An added asset which we find lacking in most French hotels was Coffee and Tea making facility in the room. Just great after a full day of travelling. Breakfast was very good and worth the money.
Great location next to tramway. Remarkably quiet for a large city.
City centre location, ideal for all trips
The hotels is well decorated, convenient to the local trams and railway station and is only a 8 minute walk to the Promenade D'Anglaise and all the resort front. Hotel staff were very happy to help with any of our questions and we had no language problems with the staff.
Perfect location, in the center, near parking and coffee, small room. Good breakfast. Overall it's a good deal. Recommended.
Gòod, great staff, breakfast good. Room by stairs noisy.
Good location
We (couple) had a lovely stay here. The hotel is in a great location, plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Close to Old Town and the beach. Tram stops literally at the end of the end and is only 5 minute walk to the train station. The room itself is a little dated decor wise, and the bed wasn’t amazingly comfortable. But it was clean, and staff were friendly. Breakfast was ok but if it’s not included in the booking, I wouldn’t pay the extra for it. Plenty of places to eat nearby for a smaller fee (for breakfast).
Very nice !
Loved this hotel- very comfy. Good service. Very clean and spacious room.. Weird bathtub tho- cannot use it except for the shower ( if you are over 5'10 like I am, don't try to sit in the bath tub, there is no safe way to get out. My husband had to pool me up, so I don't break my anything, since there is no handle in the middle and nothing to grab on for security.) Breakfast is regular and boring- had it once . Location is perfect, very central. Will stay there again. Thank you!
small room, poor WiFi
Small room and a little smelly. Area outside is a bit noisy, especially when trash service happens around midnight and you are trying to sleep. The WiFi was ridiculously slow, probably slower than using 4G on my phone. For the price, it was an OK deal, but I wouldn't go back.
Good hotel, good location
The hotel is really well placed. 10 minutes walk can take you to the old town, beach, train station, and normal city shopping areas. Hotel looked a little tired in the rooms but it was clean, bright and the staff were really helpful and spoke very good English. The air con was good and unlike most hotels it didn't sound like a tractor! Continental breakfast was as you'd expect. Very pleased for the price.
Good location and comfortable
Enjoyed my stay
Room was comfortable, although a bit bright in the morning. Location was great and staff were friendly. WiFi wasn’t really always working. Overall pretty good stay.
5-6 min to main Sightseeing areas.
The facilities at this hotel are very basic; the rooms are small and the furniture/decor is very dated. When I arrived and was leaving, I had to drag my suitcases up the stairs as there is no bellboy and no elevator for that section of the hotel. When I needed it, I had to ask for an ironing board and iron to use at the front desk (as there was none in the room) and drag it up and down the stairs myself as well. I was able to borrow a needle and a thread from the front desk, which was nice. If you stay here, please bring your own shampoo and conditioner as the shampoo provided in the room cheap and doesn't wash hair well (no conditioner is given). For the nice things about the room, there is a coffee maker with a supply of coffee, tea, and creamer and there is a mini-fridge for your use. There is also a clothes dryer in the bathroom, which is very useful to dry your clothes after a day at the beach. The room is cleaned daily, but the maid may forget certain items sometimes and/or clean the room very late. The staff at the hotel is very friendly but not all of them speak English well. The hotel offers a breakfast buffet for 10 euros per person per day, but I don't think it is worth it as it is very basic and doesn't change from day to day. The biggest plus is that the hotel is close to the beach (10 to 15 minute walk), close to the train (10 to 15 minute walk) and close to the main avenue (2 minute walk). Nice budget hotel for the south of France that has free wifi!
No hot water supply
Business trip
Location is very convenient. Friendly staff and clean.
No complaints
Very clean hotel and helpful staff, happy to advise us on things to see and ideas of places to eat. Location couldn't get better. No frills hotel, but right in the middle of it all, with the shopping district on your doorstep.
Comfy room at affordable price
I chose this hotel for my last night in France. The room was comfy and inviting with a large bathroom and cushy bed, and then location was ideal, steps from the mall and a short walk to old town. Due to scheduling conflicts I arrived in the morning, and while I was unable to check in early— the hotel was full— the employee at the desk was kind and helpful, taking my bags and offering me a map. The following day, the front desk called for a cab and it showed in about five minutes. It was a lovely stay.
Very comfortable beds and extremely clean room, with very good shower. Excellent continental breakfast, plus bacon and scrambled eggs. Great location of hotel, very central for everything. Occasional noise when in room, but would definitely stay here again.
My son and I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights and we had a great time. Very nice and helpful staff at the front desk, Steve, Jessica and Violeta. We enjoyed the walk everyday. Hotel is so close to all the tourist spots, Place Massena, The Old Town, Place Garibaldi, The Beach, The Castle Hill, The Port. We also visited Monaco. Took city bus only euro 1.50/each. Bus drive was only 35 mins. from Nice to Monaco. Also buffet breakfast at the hotel was very good. Enjoyed freshly squeezed orange juice every morning . Definitely will stay at this hotel again.
A good place to stay in Nice
Excellent and very helpful French and English speaking staff. Room was compact, clean and a huge closet (wardrobe) and a room safe. A problem with the TV remote was quickly fixed. Excellent location. very central.
During a recent stay at the Boreal, our flight home was cancelled. Staff could not have been more helpful, in particular Jessica who made a couple of phone calls on our behalf during a particulary stressful time. Her reassurance and assistance were greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Great hotel friendly ,close to everything , excellent place to stay in Nice
We have now used this hotel five times and think it excellent. However, we do have two minor complaints about our recent visit. Our room 403 was adequate but on the small side, and we were surprised that there was no fridge. Secondly, we found that our room was usually cleaned in the mid-afternoon, which meant that our siestas were often interrupted, Could rooms be cleaned on a rotating basis so that the same rooms aren't always left till last?
Spot on hotel for short break.
Excellent location, friendly & helpful staff, room & amenities more than adequate for a short break.
Amazing location, great sized rooms. And there was a bathtub. This hotel surpassed all of my expectations. Love, love, love! Thank you hotel boreal!
Good location. Friendly staff. Rooms basic, shower hit and miss, bed very comfortable.
Great Stay, but walls are thin.
The room was very nice, but walls are thin and neighboring guests can be heard in hall way and in the adjoining rooms.
Excellent Location, close to train station, shopping, Restaurants, staff super friendly and extremely helpful, the breakfast it's abundant and of very good quality, rooms are clean , beds are comfortable. we had a wonderful experience and totally recommend this hotel it is a very good choice for the price.
Extra pillows a thoughtful touch. TV better than most but programs in English only news and most are related to business
Lovely gentleman serving breakfast,a comfortable 3 nights stay indeed would come back soon
Hotel in a good location
The Staff were efficient and friendly. The area is quiet and safe, close to transport. The Hotel is three star, and that's what you get. Like a lot of French Hotels the rooms are smallish. The room and bathroom were clean. The Breakfast was fine. There was no fridge in the room. As per three star rating. There was only two English speaking TV channels (Both News), this is normal in France. The bed was quiet low and the mattress very soft, maybe time for a change. But I was generally happy with the Hotel and the cost.
Great location. Good room facilities. Good choice for breakfast.

Nice hotel, nice!
The hotel is ideally placed between the station and the town centre so very easy to hop on a tram to the airport or the old town. The bedrooms are small but well furnished with spotless modern bathrooms, with a bath which is not usually the case in France. Very good self service breakfast although the scrambled eggs don't keep hot under a single night light. If they cooked omelettes or poached eggs on request it would be perfect! While they are diligent in sending out emails before your stay they don't reply to all the questions eg can we book a table for dinner - but they don't have a restaurant as it turns out. But their dinner recommendations were very good.
