Very clean, and really nice room. The front desk is very informative about what to do in Quebec City, and were very accommodating. If I go back to Quebec City I’ll be staying here again.
1 nuit a Quebec
Perfect for a reasonable price close to the old city
There was a mixup when I checked in but they fixed it quickly. Great location is the walking distance to everything
Nice place, people there were nice. I was really close to the train station and most places to eat were in walking distance!
Wonderful staff, comfortable beds, very clean. Very cozy, not a luxury hotel by any means, but enjoyed our stay. Stairs were a bit challenging, but we knew that there was no elevator. Overall we would stay here again!
Great affordable stay!
Location was ok but stairwell really smelled of cigarette smoke and room was a bit musty
Unventilated, bad smell, noisy because of bar down, room at 2nd floor high stairs.
Awesome location
Loud, but fun. Comfortable. Perfectly located cheap very very good valur for your money
Holiday
Room was clean out dated and near what ever you wanted to do in walking distance
It was a pleasant stay at Belley. You can borrow their kettle when you check in if you need it! The room has a personal coffee maker. The view and facility are as advertised photos! We definitely will go back when we visit Quebec City.
Simple and good value.
Simple and good value. Centrally located.
Second stay and will be my go to in QC moving forward
A basic room in old Quebec. The property is run by another hotel across the street. 20 mins walk to Chateau Frontenac. Ventilation was broken so bathroom streamed up the room. Windows are screwed closed which didnt help for circulation. Parking is $18 a day offsite (2 min walk). A bit on the pricey side but your paying for the location. It's in an old building but the room was modern.
The room was quite big with a massive couch. The bathroom was a little bite small compare to the rest.
The location is great, although there is no front desk and a tavern below. it was noisy until 3 am.
Close to train station.
Room was clean No elevator and stairs are narrow and steep. Otherwise it was fine
Hotel Belley is located on top of the restaurant. some music and noise should be expected.
The Hotel Belley is a perfect place to stay in old town, Quebec City. Such an amazing price for the location! The hotel is quaint and nicely appointed. There is no elevator, so request the 1st floor if you need to. We walked uptown to all the historic attractions, shops and dining. We were boarding a cruise ship... we couldn't have stayed any closer or picked a more perfect hotel.
Both staff of hotel and tavern went above and beyond to accommodate us and our senior dog! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again! Thank you
There is a bar downstairs that played music until midnight. It was unusual to register at the hotel across the street. The Belley was old but worth the price. Very close to the cruise port
Average place. Offsite parking teamed with the hotel is farther than the closest lot across the street. Walkable area and close to everything. Room is sorely in a need for some TLC (bathroom counters slanted so not useful and loose; celing fan full of caked dust; light bulb burned out; curtains that have seen better days). Not a deal breaker. Just middle of the road.
Great location in Old Quebec City. Many restaurants and attractions within walking distance. Friendly staff, easy checkin and checkout.
Quaint little room but to small and hard to get upstairs to.
Location was perfect. Room a good size and liked the armchairs. Toiletries were nice, especially bergamot shampoo and shower gel! Pub noise meant we missed out on our beauty sleep.
Close to old Quebec and port
It was very close to the cruise line.
Close to shops
We did not like the two very steep flights of stairs to our room, but everything else was great!! We had 5 suitcases so the climb with them was tough.
It is closed everything near train station
The room was unique and conveniently located
Way too much noise at night. Do not sleep here unless you are an incredibly heavy sleeper. Even with earplugs i still couldn’t sleep and it was 3 45 and you could still here the music from the below tavern shaking the walls. Cleanliness was good and so were staff.
The receptionists at Saint Paul's were very helpful and pleasant .The room in Bexley was on second floor which was good As considerable noise from pub below on Fry evening.Didnt annoy me but if u were light sleeper it could be a problem .Room was quaint but bigger than expected .Not sure it's a good idea having windows screwed shut but there was Aircon . Couldn't get TV to work but that was probably my fault .Overall enjoyed my stay and was very well positioned for cruise terminal train station and old town.
We were upgraded to the next door sister property Hotel le-Saint-Paul but did hang out at the bar in Belley, which was lively and fun on Saturday night. The room was comfortable with good a/c since the windows didn’t open. Bathroom had good water pressure in the shower and nice products. The shape of the room was quirky and original as befitting an older building. Loved they had a duvet rather than a blanket in terms of cleanliness. There was a mini fridge and a keurig for coffee though the first day we only had one coffee and three tea pods but it was better after day one. Easy check in. It’s across from a gas station which is convenient for snacks and things and the view is of the old port. Really convenient too for cool antique shops and restaurants and about 5-10 minute easy walk to the Place Royale and the Petit Champlain. We would stay again.
A little noisy at night due to being over a bar. Great location and helpful staff.
This property was conveniently located & easy to find & get to. It was a bit noisy as it is situated above a bar but was ok & not a surprise as it was fully disclosed. We would stay here again.
No elevator and stairs are steep in this fairly old building. Staff did offer to help with luggage. Fairly basic property with limited to no other facilities. Good area with lots of dining and shopping within walking distance.
We were aware it was over a pub, but did not expect it to play music and be open until three in the morning. There were minimal amenities. Small room . Not worth the money.
We liked being near the heart of Old Quebec. The building was quaint and historic. It was great to wake up to sunshine streaming in. The entryway was not too inviting - a bit run-down. We liked the room, but the windows did not open and there was no air movement without the A/C being on. In all, good value for our stay.
Nice location. Clean woth great accessibility.
I wish I would have known how badly the building smells of cigarettes before I booked this place. Although there are no smoking signs everywhere, there is an uncanny odour throughout the entire complex. It hit me the minute I walked in the front door, and followed me up to my 2nd floor room. I coughed all night, and felt dry-eyed and stinky the next morning. If that's your jam...happiness. For everyone else, be forewarned.
Everything was smooth. It was a safe and relaxing stay.
I took the Via Rail to Quebec City so the hotel was very convenient (7 minutes walking). It is situated in Old Quebec so everything is within walking distance for food, tourist attractions, and shopping. I enjoyed my stay there and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel has amicable staff that let me leave my luggage at the front desk until my next train.
As in other reviews if noise is a concern this is not the place for you especially on the weekends. Location is great - short walk down Rue St. Paul to lower town -short walk uphill via Cote Dinan up to Rue St Jean and Chateau Frontenac. Very close to Via rail station.
Ok
Great location, clean and quiet. Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants! Loved it.
Musique et bruyant jusqu’à 3 heures du matin.
Worth it for the location. Nothing special otherwise about the hotel or rooms.
LOVE A BOUTIQUE HOTEL, GREAT BEDS, CLEAN ROOMS GREAT SPACE AND LOCATION EXCELLENT FOR DINING AND WALKING TO OLD QUEBEC
Great location in the lower town a few blocks from the train station and close to shops and restaurants and a short uphill walk to the historic Old Town.
Very clean and helpful staff. Tavern is below so you may want to bring ear plugs
Nice room at an excellent location
Parfait
Emplacement idéal, j'ai adoré, j'y retournerais sans aucun doute
The staff was friendly and nice at the day of my arrival. Even gave me an umbrella because it was raining pretty hard. The room seemed clean. There is a window in the bathroom and blinds from the outside that weren’t closed very well so I was worried if people from outside can see. The hotel rooms are right above a bar and windows and walls are so thin, I could hear everything all night. The bar was open and busy until 3-4 am and I could barely get any sleep because of all the noise from people laughing, yelling, and talking. If you are a person who doesn’t need much sleep and doesn’t mind staying up late, that might be a good option for you. It didn’t work for me. Moving further to the day before I left, I talked to the front desk employee (don’t remember her name) what my options are to get to the airport at 4am for my early flight. She said taxi would be best and she supposedly made a reservation with a taxi company to send a vehicle at 4am and said they’d be there as early as 3:45am waiting for me. Come 3:45, there was no taxi waiting for me. I waited until 4 am, still nothing. I called the taxi company to ask why the car is not coming and they could not find any reservations on that address or my name! I am glad I took the taxi company’s phone number when I talked to front desk in case something happens and they don’t show up. Overall, I wouldn’t stay there again and wouldn’t recommend to my friends and family staying there either.
Cute little hotel in Old Quebec. Would stay again.
Il n'y a qu'en soirée qu'il y a un peu de bruit avec la taverne du rez de chaussée.
Accessible to where I need to go.
Very nice location
Lovely place to stay pre cruise
The location is perfect: in front of a gas station with a grocery store and very close to a public parking. There is a awesome bar on the first floor so that's perfect to share some drinks. Highly recommended!
Very central location to major attractions
We loved our stay here. But a word of warning for people who have a light sleep as the rooms are directly above a pub that is open all night until the late morning hours with loud music and people. We did not mind this and had no trouble sleeping, though. One thing that we minded however was the ultra cheap toiletry supplies. Particular the toilet paper was awful (we brought our own supplies to compensate). Apart from that, the hotel is super convenient located and we could visit all sites by foot.
No early check in. Staff was very friendly but accommodations were not good. Very steep steps. Floors upstairs squeaked. Bathroom was extremely tiny.
Awesome Old Town Quebec Paradise
Amazing top-notch location with excellent customer service. Noise was minimal and the bed was firm and comfortable. Large room with plenty of space for two.
Fantastic place to stay. Just be prepared for a bit of noise from the Tavern below
This is a review for Hotel Le Paul - we were informed on check in that Hotel Belley was being renovated. The staff were very very nice at the Hotel Le Paul and the hotel clean, quiet and was in a great location. We loved the place and will be going back again to visit Quebec City again!
Did not like having to pay for parking, we were moved to hotel Sainte-Anne due to air conditioning problems at hotel belley.
Great location, beautiful decor, lovely staff
Well-located, friendly staff, great service
When we reached out to the helpful folks at Hotel Belley (our train was running late), they arranged for us to pick up room keys after hours and we completed the check-in in the morning. They also upgraded us to their next-door sister hotel, the Saint Paul! The room was both modern and quaint -- very clean and well-tended. An excellent stay all around!
The price is good, the location is in Old Quebec. My only caution is about climbing the steep steps up to the rooms.
Inexpensive and reasonably well located. Room size good for the price. Checkin only at nearby hotel. Stairs—no elevator (luckily our room was only one flight up). TV very difficult to use. No maid service in three days, but not a problem. Somewhat noisy at night—over a tavern.
Everything was fine
It is above a bar so there is noise. Curtains don't close properly so lots of light coming in. Bed is very hard, not a lot of parking around and parking is paid during the day
Endroit très apprécié, chambre confortable. Malheureusement, la chambre était trop chaude, je ne pouvais pas ouvrir les fenêtres et le bruit du ventilateur de la salle de bain était très désagréable. Mais somme toute très agréable.
Room was clean. AC was functional. The bed and pillows were EXTREMELY comfortable. There's a tavern downstairs if you're hungry or want a pint. There's only two real downsides that I can think of. #1: Check-in is a bit awkward since the reception is in the building across the street, but it's close enough that it doesn't really matter. Still though, not the most convenient thing in the world so it's worth at least noting. #2: The rooms are above a bar that closes into the AMs. That means that it can, and most likely will, get noisy which could hinder your sleep. Overall, it's a nice, comfortable, and clean place to stay at.
Hotel Belley has amazing and helpful staff. There are a many places to eat nearby and the rooms are large and updated.
It’s not quite in old Quebec but right below it, literally at the foot of the wall, and it does look out at a big refinery on the port, but it’s an amazing location an an amazing street, rue saint jean is 4 minutes away, you can easily walk to all the key spots like chateau Frontenac the citadelle petit Champlain. It is cheaper than most hotels in old Quebec too which was nice because you walk up a set of stairs and you’re there anyways. Road we were on again wasnt in the old city walls but it might as well have been, beautiful cobblestone streets, colonial stone buildings, and some amazing restaurants. The nearby waterfront is also really cool with lots to see and do that you wouldn’t think of. There was some sort of ice fishing event
Loved it!
Our stay was amazing! Perfect location to visit all the beautiful spots in the city. The bar downstairs, while not owned but he hotel was delightful! Can’t wait to come back
Beautiful spacious room.
The room was large and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the time there. Convenient to the upper and lower old city and very walkable. Their was a bar below us and made it nice to grab a beer or a quick meal. The only drawback for us was there was no elevator and the steps were quite steep. We overpacked (we were leaving on a cruise) so hauling heavy suitcases up and down those stairs was a bit daunting. But all in all a wonderful stay!!!
No room service, no elevator, no front counter (it’s at a different hotel). You pay for what you get I guess.
No housekeeping service during 4 night stay
We stayed 4 nights and the listing said daily housekeeping, but on check-in we were told there was no cleaning service during our stay (we were able to get fresh towels from the front desk across the street). Also remember, no elevator :)
The bed was squeaky and very noisy on every turn. The sbsence of parking nit convenient. No phones in thd room to reach reception.
I liked being in old QC. Our room was on 3rd floor with steep stairs which was ok but would be deterrent for some. One night people were noisy at bar downstairs but two nights we ate there and really liked it.
Lovely room located on the second floor (walk up) . Accomodating for ourselves and our medium sized dog. The property is located close walking distance to old Quebec City. We would definitely recommend it. Thanks!
Enjoyed our staying at this hotel
Room was clean, staff at the front were friendly and nice!! They kept our bags when checked out so we didn't have to carry our bags to all the way around! Just one thing - the building itself is a bit old I believe, so you may hear some noise from other rooms quite well, but we had our tight ear plugs on - this worked out!
This hotel is within easy walking distance of the VIA Rail station and the Cruise Terminal so super convenient. We had some trouble with water drainage on our 2nd night. The staff was super accommodating and moved our room - even carrying our luggage down and up a bunch of flights which was really appreciated after we’d walked up and down Quebec City streets and stairs all day.
Quaint property near everything. Easy walk to/from train/bus station, cruise ship terminal and countless restaurants. Bed very comfortable. They have a dedicated room for luggage storage should you arrive early. Property is old (as is much of Quebec City) but well kept. Bar downstairs but it was not particularly noisy. During the day you could hear people going up and down stairs to get to their rooms. I heard nothing at night. The only negative was that there is no elevator so if you can’t manage stairs it would be a problem. Staff carried my bag up the stairs. Registration is at a property right across the street. Registration staff very friendly. I would stay here again.
Nice place with stairs
Very nice smallish room, comfortable bed and comfortable air conditioning. Be warned, there are very steep stairs involved in getting to your room. The front desk clerk is wonderful.
It is a joyful stay, room is spacious and clean. The location is quite close to the main attractions, the only thing is we were not aware that there is no elevator, we have to climb two storeys.it’s lucky we only stayed there for one night so we left the big luggage at the reception. The staff is very helpful to carry our carry on bags up to our room.
PROs: Location, room size CONs: Super squeaky, uncomfortable bed; super squeaky, sticky floors; lots of confusion about where to check-in and the desk times The location of the hotel is within a 5 minute walk, uphill, to Quebec City's Old Town. The area around the hotel is nice too and a 5 minute walk to the train station (Gare du Palais). Bus 800 to Montmorency Falls was close too! The room was large, but the bed was evil hard and squeaked even with the slightest movement. The floors were even worse with them squeaking and being super sticky. The shower was nice. I probably wouldn't stay here again though.
Location was close to port and old Quebec. Restaurant options are available within walking distance. Would have like more assistance from hotel staff. Breakfast is needed and parking
Nice
Great location amid historic sites and interesting shops.
Perfect location for exploring old town Quebec and then walking to the cruise terminal. Staff was very friendly!! Cute, unique, well appointed room. Note, staircase is narrow and steep, so take this into consideration.
Great place to stay!
We arrived on a cruise ship and could easily walk to the hotel. The staff was very helpful in holding our luggage and directing us around the city. our room was very comfortable and clean. We mentioned many times how pleased we were to have found such a nice place to stay. Highly recommend!
I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Belley. Excellent location. Convenient to all area attractions.
Very close to Old Quebec.
We stayed at Hotel Belley for New Year’s Eve and the days following. While the hotel had some positives, there were significant issues that impacted our experience. The biggest downside was the noise. The bar downstairs was very loud, especially during the night, and the paper-thin walls didn’t help. We could hear nearly everything, including sounds from adjacent rooms. However, the staff went above and beyond to address our concerns. They were understanding and accommodating, eventually moving us to an apartment to ensure a quieter and more pleasant stay. This gesture truly improved our experience and showed their commitment to guest satisfaction. Overall, while the initial stay was disappointing due to the noise levels, the staff’s professionalism and effort to make things right made a positive difference. If you’re staying here, I’d recommend asking about quieter room options ahead of time.
