Lovely property, great location. Only thing I would improve on is the water temperature in the shower. It's never truly hot enough to enjoy, just warm enough to shower quickly :)

Your Own Paris Hideaway

Hotel Bel Ami is top notch in every respect. The location in St. Germain des Pres is close to restaurants, bars and shops in all directions. The stylish modern design is very colorful. Most of all, the concierge staff were outstanding - from train and airport transfers to restaurant reservations. We look forward to returning.

Lovely hotel in a great neighbourhood. Second time we stayed there. Great restaurant options within a short walk away, and easy access to other areas of Paris. Hotel itself is very clean and the staff are very helpful. Rooms are on the small side - but that’s typical of Paris. Service is fantastic. Room was great overall, some very small issues like the bathroom wasn’t heated, and the bathtub was slightly chipped. Room was very quiet. Overall great and would stay again.

Concierge was amazing. They helped us secure tickets for a cabaret show and helped us get taxis. The housekeeping provided turndown service and the room was also impeccable. We were given water and a piece of chocolate every night. Staff was great. Location was in the heart of the action.

Excellent location, just a minute to walk to Metro station Saint Germain-des Pres. There are dozens of restaurants and cafe near by, also they made my room nice and neat all the time.

Wonderful hotel in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. The hotel staff treated us well for our anniversary and my wife's birthday by providing flowers, balloons and cards. We really appreciated that special touch. Our room had electrical issues, and after trying a few times to fix it without success, the staff moved us to a different room and gave us a complimentary room upgrade as a goodwill gesture for the troubles we had. They went above and beyond to take care of us in an unfortunate situation. The whole staff was excellent, but a special thank you to Ibrahima and Arnaud for taking care of us when we lost power to our room and making arrangements to move us to a different room so we could enjoy the rest of our stay. If was our first time in Paris, and the staff here made our stay extra special. When we come back, we would not hesitate to stay at Hotel Bel Ami again.

My error was to book a non refundable reservation. That said, when posed with a significant health emergency and reaching out to the hotel via Expedia back 2 months ago to see if we could either be refunded or date changed, the callous hotel management declined our request for assistance. Very heartless treatment by this hotel.

J’adore Paris

The location is excellent in one of the best neighborhoods in Paris. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the accommodations were nice. Rooms in Europe are typically smaller than in the states and this was no exception but very manageable with the closets/storage in the room. Highly recommend for the area and price point. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

It was good enough but nowhere near a 5 star - who gives these stars. Staff are generally nice enough although the Check out girl today couldnt have been more unfriendly if she tried. Rooms are tiny and you only can walk around the bed. Way overpriced. Everything is a bit cramped. But then given record levels of tourists in Paris who cares right?

The bed rooms are very very small with no room to open your suit case to retrieve clothes except the bed. Hotel offers no views from bedrooms and there is no air conditioning in common areas or lifts. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful.

1st time in France

This was my first time to visit France. I arrived to hotel a little early and I was able to get checked in. Very nice after a long day of travel! Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The hotel is beautiful and very comfortable!

On our 10th trip to Paris, we decided to try a new hotel and were pleased with the quality, ambience and assistance provided by Bel Ami. We have found a new home in Paris!

Intimate hotel

Perfectly located in the heart of Paris. Staff was gracious and helpful. Service was a bit slow in the bar area but I acknowledge that I am used to American service vs. European service. I was amazed by the housekeeping teams efficiency with laundry. The only issue I had was the power went out the early morning of my departure and only on my floor. The initial contact with the staff was terrible. Like - "what do you want me to do about it?" But my tickets, itinerary etc. were all on my phone. I panicked a bit. A gracious young lady, came from behind the desk and we figured it out. In the end you should never have to worry about losing power in a ***** hotel, but it was likely beyond their control.

Affordable 5-star hotel in the best arrondissement

We had the best experience at Hotel Bel Ami, and the only snafu - which was small - was taken care of in a way that went above and beyond. The hotel is so perfectly and centrally located in the St. Germain area, but as it's on a side street, you don't feel like you're right in the middle of the chaos (a good chaos!). The staff was incredibly kind, helpful and accommodating. We arrived on a very early flight from the U.S. and understandably, our room wasn't ready. Our room still wasn't ready at the time of check-in, which was frustrating considering we were exhausted from 24 hours of travel, but to make up for it, they put us in a bigger room, and comped the breakfast package for the week. That was completely unnecessary for them to do all of that, but it made us instant fans of their service. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and we LOVED the nightly turn down service that also included fresh - and sustainable boxed - water, and a sample of a local chocolate. The hotel continental breakfast was the best I've had. Hot, fresh, and lots of healthy and protein-filled options to power you through a day on the town. We've determined that we will stay at this hotel for any and all future visits. We can't recommend them highly enough.

The Hotel was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful. My boyfriend received a bottle of champagne for his birthday and the room was decorated. The room was very clean. Each evening you were asked if you would like clean towels and given water and chocolate. Staff couldn't have been more helpful would definitely go again

Excellent hotel and location

This was our second time at the Bel Ami and again the overall experience was excellent. From the moment we arrived, we were impeccably looked after by Patrick on the desk, Max the porter, and Christoph the concierge. And the location in Saint-Germain-des-Prés could not be better.

This is one of the best hotels by husband and I have ever stayed at. The staff was amazing and so helpful. The location was in a prime area and everything we needed was in the area!

Great hotel in the heart of Saint-Germain. On a side street so quiet and intimate yet 1 min from Boulevard Saint-Germain. The staff is wonderful and care about your comfort. Hotel is modern, updated and chic. We were travelling a a couple with a small child and couldn’t be more comfortable. This is our new favourite boutique hotel in Paris and we will be back!

I love the location within Paris and the look of the lobby. I love the rooms which look out onto the rue Bonaparte. The staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The breakfasts are excellent. The rooms are clean, elegant and a good size.

Excellent hotel , in the middle of the city , you can access any where from the metro near by. Staff went above and beyond and even helped us get our health pass. Only issue which we faced was that the room air conditioning was not cold enough. Even though we kept it at 15 but room remained at 22 . Rest it was a great place to stay

The Hotel has a great location convenient to all the favorite places to visit. We walked almost everywhere. The Louvre, Orangerie, d'Orsay, Rodin, Napoleons tomb, Notre Dame, Luxembourg gardens, Eiffel Tower, romantic bridges and river cruises on the Seine, etc. We took an open bus tour with a pickup spot nearby which took us to further places like the Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees, and the Garnier Opera House. From there, we walked to Montmartre and Sacre Coeur. Took a Metro back to a stop very close to the Hotel. Plenty of restaurants, shops, banks, etc. nearby.

We had a great stay. The room was very small (even for European standards), but it was updated , clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The hotel is located very close to the metro, which is super convenient.

We won't look for any other place to stay next time. The Hotel Bel Ami has it all for a low key visit to the great city of Paris. Our room was small but that's where the cons start and stop. Front desk? Great. Concierge? FROM BEFORE WE ARRIVED with our questions to when we arrived with their helpfulness? Great. Room amenities? Great. Location to transportation and sites and restaurants? Great. We paid up 20 bucks a night for breakfast just so that we wouldn't have to worry about it on a day to day basis. And they had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, baguettes, croissants, fruits, cheese and charcuterie daily. The hotel staff is friendly. They have a small fitness area if you want to use it along with a spa though we did not. Our room, again while small, had a TV, safe, fridge and Nespresso machine. They stocked us with bottled water daily. You may have to request a iron and ironing board though. Metropolitan is a short 3 or 4 minute walk. Les Relais de le'Entrocote is right across the street (go, it's good). Cafe De Fleur is 2 blocks away (don't go, it's overrated). Last tip unrelated to this review, DO NOT fly Air France - 2 hours just to get through customs with no representatives to help us get to our gates more timely like United had so we missed our flight and lost our luggage going home. Hotel Bel Ami? Yes, please. Air France? Never again.

This is a wonderful hotel in a great location in the heart of 6th a block from Blvd Saint-Germain. Very helpful staff who even scheduled my COVID test required for return to the United States to be taken in the hotel. Very close to the Metro and within walking distance of many Paris attractions.

Uniqueness: location. Two things I did not like: a) They have two independent elevator not synchronized with one call button. b) Althouugh one can expect a room in Paris will be always small, this one was way too small: not even a proper space, other than the bed to unfold your luggage

Outstanding location, fantastic staff

I often skip the request for reviews for lack of time or because the property is undeserving of compliments, but this is not the case with the Hotel Bel Ami in Paris. Our family and I stayed for five nights during the Thanksgiving break and our stay was just impeccable. Because we had booked two rooms, the staff had the courtesy of reaching out to ensure this was not a mistake (this was a first for me). Once they knew we were reserving two rooms under the same name, they made sure the rooms were adjacent to one another. Upon arrival, the reception staff was very welcoming and they worked hard to ensure our rooms were available although we arrived several hours before the formal check-in time. From that point on, everything was very smooth. The rooms we chose are on the smallish side, but they were in perfect shape. The (queen) bed and the pillows were very comfortable, the bathroom was squeaky clean, everything worked fine and the amenities were of good quality. As far as location, if you like the sophistication and coziness of St Germain-de-Pres (as opposed to the energetic and lively areas such as Le Marais or St. Honore), this is definitely the place to stay. The hotel is 1/5 short blocks from the St. Germain Blvd. and is surrounded by nice restaurants, bars, and shops. We will definitely return and recommend the hotel highly.

Excellent boutique hotel on left bank of Paris.

Modern well positioned hotel on the left bank with comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Good breakfast and pleasant and friendly staff. Close to public transport and close to all the cafe's and shops on Boulevard Saint Germain. We stayed for a week and would return on future trips to Paris

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is renovating its lifts at the moment with one of the two lifts being replaced. Of course, this is the moment the other lift chooses to break down and it is a Saturday night. When we got back we were met by a staff member who, with great good humour, took us up in the service lift. The proper lift was repaired during the next day (Sunday). Stuff happens, that can’t be helped but it is how you deal with it that counts.
