When I reserved it say breakfast included and when I checked in the front desk said it was not. The place is a dump. Old old. The towels, sheets. Bathroom and disgusting. Also expensive for what you get. I will never stay here again.
Just spending only one night at the Bahia suites. by the way this is not an Hotel. Bahia suites is a motel . Looking for my credit for not staying at the Bahia suites ( motel)
Mixed feelings about this place. The entrance of the pool is very nice and so is the common area on the rooftop. Great location, 1 block from train station. And plenty taxi outside. The rooms are a bit rundown. The closet of both rooms they put us in was broken and the windows don't lock. When it's locked you just shake them and they opened in both rooms. The person incharge told me that they are all the same. The washroom is also not in best shape but nice spacious. All flaws I can ignore. But the unlock windows is what will make me think twice before rebooking
There were heavy clashes between protesters and police during my stay. Tear gas was coming into my room. I know it's not the hotel's fault but still I think travelers should know this when they are browsing hotels.
Place was clean but 1 small elevator so if you in a group it will take a minute to go up and down. It did well for basic amenities. Staff was great and always helpful. The area is closer to the local sketchy area at night. But if you want to experience the more local areas cheaper foods and more authentic Panamanian foods n shops great spot to stay
Smelly, not to good location...relation between price and property is ok
The balcony and the bathroom were ugly
Great staff. Extremenly helpful. Easy access to shopping areas. Receptionist helped carried my luggage gave a metro card the list goes on.. kind people. Restairant good. Awesome view from restautant and roof top pool.. great price.. sorry room did not have microwave. Iron. Kettle and phone did not work. Would stay sgain. Visited february 2020
Ok for a night stay. Area not good to walk around during the night.
The hotel needs a lot of work and renovation. The rooms are old and smelly. The sheets smelt really sour and I was quite disappointed. We quickly checked out and found somewhere else
clean and quiet very comfortable, I stay here regularly.
Everything was ok, the attention was good. The room was in good shape and I love the aesthetic of this place
This hotel should NOT be listed on Expedia or anywhere else. Its gross, falling apart, holes in the walls in the room, and just nasty. Pretty sire we witnessed a drug deal outside the front door. And the neighborhood is far from safe. Do NOT stay here.
Shower
Everything was great but the shower was horrible. It only gave hot water and that burn my hand.
Nice hotel close to everything and great rooftop restaurant and pool area
Excellent
Do not stay at this hotel
I stay at this hotel two days, and two days without water the conditions of this hotel is deplorable and the area is very danger.
Very friendly staff. Our flight came in earlier than expected and even though check-in was at 3, my family and I were allowed early check-in. We stayed 3 nights. Staff was been exceptionally courteous, helpful, accommodating and professional. We would absolutely stay there again!!
Average hotel but the staff was awesome! Restaurant on rooftop had a great view. Menu and pricing was average but again, the staff was awesome!
Cleanliness, rooms well set up without any luxury items.
Great layover stay
We stayed here as a layover in between Santa Fe and Portobelo. For our quick one night needs, it worked out great. It was clea, check in was efficient. The elevator was not working, but that wasn't a big deal for us. The A/C was great and the bathroom had some toiletries provided. The best part was that is was very close to a metro terminal, which we used easily to get around the city.
Great location, Nice pool area , close to subway station
The receptionist attitude was terrible, area is dangerous, no shampoo in the room, bath tub water doesn’t run freely, the bed was short. Just wouldn’t go back there again.
Great location to everything!!! You get what you pay for. If you want five star hotel, then pay the price of a five star hotel. If you need something just to sleep, shower, and be at the center of everything, I recommend it.
The hotel should leave a coffee maker and a little refrigerator.
Nothing unique about the property l just liked one thing, location.
I stayed at this hotel about a year ago, it was good back then. This time around it was not nearly as good. The staff were a little rude, the service on the rooftop restaurant was terrible, everytime we went up there we sat outside for about 30 mins waiting for a server that didn’t come and finally decided to leave to another place for breakfast. The elevator was broken almost the entire time, and the wifi in the room was always a bad connection. I Have 3 more nights stay in my trip but decided to try my luck elsewhere.
Overprice, shady are located hotel
This hotel is located in a very shady area, there are motels and very questionable places around it. Don't feel comfortable walking at night around the are. I wouldn't recommend this for families with small kids. The hotel doesn't offer a fridge for the room, if you want to include it they will charge you 8 USD per day. Also, they do not provided towels for the room, you need to request them, and probably they will charge you. We had a discussion with the hotel because the told us breakfast wasn't included. We showed the confirmation and they gave us 2 small rolls of ham, and to tasteless pancakes, with coffee.
Good location near Metro , Nice pool area , restaurant w great view
Not what is shown on the pictures, terrible smell, door won’t lock, water keep running in the bathroom, bathroom was not clean enough
Good hotel in center Panamá City with parking
We stayed 10 days in Bahia Suites. The room was good. We asked for a fridge and the next day it was there without an extra charge. The restaurant on the top floor is good with very friendly staff. On Sunday the restaurant is closed like most of the restaurants and shops in Panamá City. We recommend to take an other closing day. The free parking was very good.
Water was cold. Noisy. Staff said breakfast wasn’t included. We paid each day then discovered it was. Changed rooms as bathroom tiny & traffic noise constantly. Reception staff weren’t very friendly or helpful. Area close to old city & we were happy enough eating at local restaurants. We didn’t expect flash and found to hotel VERY basic.
Nice Hotel Sketchy Area
Hotel was kind of run down, we checked in late at night so I didn’t feel safe when I checked in. In the morning the area looked a lot better, and nothing happened so that was good. When we got there the receptionist told us she didn’t have any rooms available, so we had to figure that out. But overall okay for the value.
Cheer up receptionists : )
Sadly the first impression is poor because of the grumpy faced reception staff. Not one smile returned during our 3 day stay. This place is okayfor yhe price, cleaning is poor we found many hairs in our bed and bathroom on our arrival. A/C and TV work well, patchy wifi once you manage to obtain the correct password. Surrounding area is tough but easily walkable to Cascore Viejo. Metro rand bank very close by.
Panama Fun
Everything was great; but no breakfast on Sunday.
comfortable and clean...
front desk staff could have been a little friendlier..
Access card
The hotel very nice and clean, however, they only gave us an access card to the room, which served as a key to turn on the lights, TV and air conditioning; what caused that if mom wished to sleep while my daughter and I were in the pool did not make it quiet because we had to touch to open the door of the room. They also did not explain the use of the same and if another access card could be obtained. Thank you.
Ok for a quick stop
Hotel is ok, bit dated in places. Good points, bed is comfy, there is a small roof terrace and pool, staff friendly enough, few minutes to the nearest metro station, breakfast is ok, but there is no choice, you are just handed a plate. Down points would be the local area is not great, few local restaurants around,
Free breakfast not available
Not very good. The morning, there wasn't breakfast while we paid it. So we have to go to find a restaurant. In more, anybody (staff) said us. These are customers of hotel which say us "no service, no breakfast today" !
Downtown Location
Not good internet. Laundry facility not good. Done done done
Convenient walking distance to old town. Good size room for 5 people
Hotel was excellent, but its connecting restaurant was overpriced. Pool and view was great. No near by restaurants, so kinda of stuck with Hotel restaurant.
No hot water in shower. Second time visiting and the first was great so I guess the hotel had an off night.
Mediocre-looking hotel in an ugly and noisy area.
They forgot to leave towels and then forgot to send them. The receptionist was not apologetic.
Perfect for sleeping!
My flight arrived very early in the morning. So, I booked the room to stay in until a more appropriate time for my family to pick me up. So, I didn't experience much of what the hotel had to offer. Sleep was comfortable, late check-out time was great, and a/c was awesome. However, some of the advertised services were not true (multi-lingual staff, 24-hour shuttle for $20).
Great location in Panama City
Hotel Bahia Suites is located in area close to a supermarket and all sorts of restaurants and other food outlets. Metro Station Loteria is just a few steps away.
Close to everything. I usually stay here in order to conduct business in the city before heading to Santa Catalina/Largatero for r&r. P
Excelent location and awesome service
Great location and service
Stay away
Too cheap i'll try another next time cheap traded ham for bacon 2 hours to get a hamburger.
You don't get what you pay for
We check in 4 rooms Jan 23 2017 carry our luguage up 6 flights after being told elevator would be up an running in 30 minutes elevator didnt work for the next 2 days. My 82 year old mother was on the 6th floor. We saw men carring a person in a wheel chair down on the 2nd day. Breakfast was coffee, tang 1 small bowl of fruit and cornflakes. We ordered outside the free breakfast an recieved 3 pieces of cheap ham instead of bacon others in our party recieves 1 piece of bacon an 2 pancakes for 6 dollars. Dinner was good but one night it took two hours to receive 2 hamburgers. On night 1 Three trips to get the AC in our room running.
Convenient but There are Options
I think it's a decent stay and definitely you would enjoy the local lifestyle available around the area but don't expect any accommodations/customer service if your AC doesn't work . I was offered to switch rooms but the view was like going from looking at the world then going to the zoo . I rather a complimentary drink or discount on room service but hey I'm American probably spoiled a little by small things like small towels but overall enjoyed the staff not management . lastly if your traveling alone make sure you put 2 guests BODLY to avoid (had to show fine print of Expedia terms which says one Person can Have A guest) who was my family member from panama WHO WAS SOLELY visiting not even staying over . Go figure they Assume one person paying means only person can enter the room lol . pS it's not my first time to a hotel in Panama. Their rules were different
The hotel need some remodeling
The bathroom is very old. At night they don't have enough people to bring a good service, except at restaurant, they have a great customer service, especially Hernan
a nice stay
hotel and staff were excellent. very friendly. the location of the hotel is not very good but it is so close to the metro. we would definitely return
Horrible experience
Breakfast included? 3 pieces of bread with fruit. Hotel rooms are super noisy, it sounds like there are no walls. The hallways smell like smoke and weed. The staff is rude. I will never go back and never refer anyone there.
Decent Hotel close to metro
Breakfast was nice, I would not reccomend eating at the restaurant otherwise. Close to metro. Some English channels on television which was nice.
Ok hotel, not a nice neighborhood
The hotel doesn't look as nice as the pic so prepare, the street and area around is a bit rough and not glamorous, but its like the authentic Panama City experience if you want to enjoy a non touristy area. The hotel staff was not rude but they weren't very nice or accommodating at all, to be fair most didn't speak English well. They gave us limited information about where to eat and party and excursions. The 'excursion' was a taxi driver they recommended who just drove us wherever we wanted to go for the day. He actually made our trip amazing because he was extremely friendly and accommodating. His name is Luis, you can contact him on whats app and ask the front desk for him tell him Tatiana sent you. We paid 150 for 2 ppl for the whole day, great rate. He suggested monuments and landmarks and places with amazing views for us to visit and places to eat. We didn't do much research on excursions we expected them to be provided. So he was amazing and extremely helpful. The room was nice and clean, nice view of the city and mountains. Rooftop pool was small but the view was amazing. The pool closes early at 8 so no late night swims like we wanted. The elevator seems to have the wrong floors labeled so its like the twilight zone trying to exit every time. The bathroom is small and not very well lit or modern, but great water pressure and very hot water. If you speak Spanish fluently and want an authentic experience in Panama city it will work for you.
Terribly disappointed with most recent visit
We have stayed there many times. We got a great rate so we didn't complain. Initial staff very friendly. Restaurant staff horrible! Bed was broken on one side. Extremely uncomfortable. Jacuzzi tub faucets loose and hard to operate. Towels limited- no washcloths, hand towels- only bath towels and mats. Elevator was not working properly- would miss the floor- go up to restaurant and pass 6th floor both up and down. I had to walk down 6 flights with bad knees twice in 2 days. Restaurant staff very unfriendly and horribly not accommodating- just for coffee!
Good price.
I booked online and got a good price. There is nothing interesting in the general area of the hotel. However the rooftop pool is a nice option and has a good view of the Bay. 20 minute walk along the waterfront paseo to Casco viajo.
Loud Hotel, unfriendly staff
Hotel is in bad part of town beware. Front desk charged card for stay enough it was already paid by expedia. Parking is for about 14 cars so don't plan an room for parking. Plan on breakfast taking at least an hour. Breakfast staff took 40 minutes off to eat breakfast themselves. Didn't care about the 20 other customers and their breakfast.
Cheap but very basic provisions. No hot water for 6 nights. Very loud. Uncomfortable bed with only a sheet.
Not for me
Would not stay here again....no restaurant in the hotel and, when I asked the desk clerk where I could get dinner in the neighborhood, she told me that there were no restaurants nearby and that I would have to take a taxi to get somewhere with restaurants. She also suggested that I get take-out delivered to the hotel but didn't have any menus so this wasn't a viable option. I didn't explore the neighborhood on my own since it looked to be a little dicey. The room was comfortable and clean enough, for the price, but overll the entire hotel was "tired" and a bit run-down. I don't need this experience again.
Attention to standard items was missing.
No garbage bin in room. Shower head not working effectively.
The neighborhood sucked, but the Metro was right next door, so for 35 cents you could go to great places in the city in just minutes. There was also a nice included breakfast, a great view with a little swimming pool on the roof. The bar and wait staff were very friendly. This place is a good value.
Price do not justify. No iron on the room, no single refrigerator or even small coffe machine in the room and AC does not respond
Good times
Great hotel with a friendly staff. It was just what we needed for our city stay for two nights before we caught an early morning flight back to the states. Great location with convenience to the water front, a little sketchy on the other side at night but that's okay it's Panama City right. It had a great restaurant, rooftop pool, and parking garage. My only suggestion is that it would be nice if the cable TV provider could provide more than two full time English speaking channels to choose from. Coming from a place where there are 20 plus free Spanish speaking channels floating in the airways this seems silly. CNN is the last thing I want to watch on vacation. I wouldn't hesitate to and will stay here again.
FAMILY VACATION!
THIS HOTEL IT'S A GREAT FOR A FIRST STOP WHEN YOU ARRIVE TO SITUATE YOUR SELF AND THEN GO EXPLORE MORE OF THE COUNTRY .
The Front Desk Saved Me From Myself
I had planned on learning more Spanish and being more organized prior to arriving in Panama City. Alas, it was not the case. The staff at the front desk were excellent in giving our family directions, information and helpful tips on what we were hoping to do and see. The rooftop restaurant and pool area was a great surprise. We had some nice meals watching the sun go down and looking out in to the bay at the ships coming and going from the canal.
Near the Loterie Metro and Central Avenue
No cooking, no refrigerator in the rooms. Comfortable enough though. Walking to find groceries was easy, bakery and supermarket quite well organized. Close to the ocean boardwalk and the Old City. Some crossings are tricky without sidewalks. Followed locals and learn the habit.
Roof top restaurant and pool make this hotel!
Great rooftop restaurant with good food, good prices, and excellent staff. Small gym is also on the same floor requires some creativity to get your regular workout in. Large poolside sitting area could use a couple umbrellas for shade. Unlimited free coffee in the mornings which was great! Not a great neighborhood BUT the Metro is only ONE block away. BTW, you have to buy the Metro card for $2 THEN you can load money on it. $.35 to any station. VERY helpful Metro staff but only speak Spanish. Not thrilled with the Bahia card key policy, only one. You use it to power on the electricity in the room. When you leave, no electricity. No charging of devices. I found out the front desk is happy to charge your devices while your gone. I guess that's why my rate was only $55 per night. Rooms were modest but comfortable and AC was strong. Plenty of hot water and water pressure. One of the surprises that I wasn't expected was the strong internet, EVERYWHERE, rooms, poolside, restaurant. Free parking and laundry room was a plus and I used both.
Nice hotel, near to metro
More clean will be better... Nice hotel, good view from swimming pool
Dangerous sector and discourteous staff
I don't like this hotel. Staff are really discouteous and the sector is dangerous, you can't walk in night and you don't find any bar or restautant in the walking distance. Rooms are good but don't have minibar.
You get what you pay for
It's a cheap hotel in a filthy area, don't be hoodwinked by the beautiful photos online. You get what you pay for. We paid $60/night - tpure not going to get the ritz for that. We arrived and there was no electricity in the rooms which was a bit dubious. It was fixed within hours. The rooftop pool and restaurant is probably the best feature. The pool is only about 5mx5m so really just to cool off in. Only two sun loungers is really inadequate. Nice views of city. The area is pretty dirty and a bit scary at first, but we didn't experience any problems. It is 2 blocks from the waterfront which is beautiful. It is central located and within walking distance to many attractions.
Cleanliness could be better. Staff is very nice
Cleanliness could be better. Staff is very nice
Clean, comfortable rooms and helpful staff
The room was very clean and nice. The beds were comfortable, the AC worked well and the shower had nice water pressure. The woman at the front desk was very helpful in helping us figure out how to get to the airport the next day and the man who drove the shuttle even lent us his toll pass because we had to return rental cars. We loved the rooftop pool which had a wading pool that was perfect for our toddler as well as a large pool for the rest of us to swim in. The restaurant was fine. The food was tasty and not too expensive. The area was alright, but just a few blocks away improved greatly and we had a nice view of the water. We were there on New Years eve so we were woken up by fireworks, but other than that it was nice and quiet. All in all I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.
Liked it so much going back in a few days
I had a very nice room (good size and clean) looking out on the water. The hotel is older but very clean, the staff are great, the rooftop pool was perfect for me to cool off and splash around in (small and shallow) and very clean but not for swimming. The breakfast has 3 or 4 choices which are simple but good. The only problem I had was the wireless would not connect for me but they have some wired computers in the rooftop restaurant that they let you use for free. The hotel is a good walk to the boardwalk and the old city. There is a small grocery close by. I did not walk around after dark. I really have only good things to say about this hotel. It is a great deal for the price.
Wonderful hidden treasure
great rooftop area with lovely small refreshing pool. Nice glass walled restaurant with great views of the harbour and Casco viajo. Walking distance to the walkway by the sea cinta de costera and the metro.
Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience. Terrible experience.
Good location and nice view.
The hotel is very well located in the city. The roof offers a nice view of the bay. Prices are good for what you get and staff is friendly.
Okay as I just needed a place to sleep.
I arrived into Panama City, Panama on a late flight and needed a room close to the Albrook airport. The hotel was close and I just needed a place to stay. It was clean. There was a restaurant at the top floor but I didn't go to it.
good clean hotel
a nice hotel in a not so good area.only a 4 dollor taxi from the bus station
nice hotel
good hotel but bad area, the room was nice and a nice shower
Great Vacation Value
Hotel was clean and location was excellent. It was a block away from the Hop on Hop off bus station. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Even though not all spoke english, we had no troubles communicating plus gave us opportunity to brush up on our spanish. Walking distance to the Mercado de Mariscos which had a bunch of awesome seafood outdoor restaurants
OK hotel
The hotel was itself OK, the lobby area was nice. the staff was helpful. It did have free internet and also offered a free breakfast (not buffet). My big concern was its location, adjacent to a not so good area in Panama, I was warned by locals not to leave hotel after dark or walk around area because it may not be safe.
Not good hotel at all I don't recommend any one
I saw the pictures in the website it was amazing but when I arrived the hotel it was different
Less satisfiying than before
This hotel was my usual hotel, great value for the price as it includes breakfast, wifi and a parking space. But the last two times I went, we couldn't easily link to the web and I absolutely need internet. I don't go to Panamá City for vacations but for business purposes.
What I seen in the pictures compared to what I actually seen was total opposite. We arrive there and first thing out the cab drivers mouth was dont come out past dark its dangerous arround here. Then we get to the room and they were still cleaning the room via bath towel on the floor using her foot to move it along. Cracks in the wall just not what I expected at all surrounded by less fortunate people walking around. We immediately left and went to double tree and enjoyed a safer neighborhood. Would not recommend this at all.
not very nice
it is the first time you can not call in America t c all expedia nobody spack english
Small rooftop pool was nice
Economical and clean...though we had to ask for a toilet seat and the maid looked at me like I was strange. She did bring one. How can you straddle a toilet and balance after a few beers?
Bad part of town to arrive late at night.
Luckily we were only staying the one night and then heading to Bocas Del Toros. We arrived at midnight from the airport. Nothing open to eat or drink. We were offered to have the guard bring us to get something to eat. I opted out, figured best to just stay in my room. During the day it was fine, good breakfast. Pool on the roof was neat. Staff was very friendly. We were downtown so we took a walk and saw the high rises which was great. For one night it was fine but to stay there for a long period would have been very disappointing as we wouldn't be able to walk out the hotel as it was not safe and taxi's are not cheap.
Criminal
This place is unbelievable. My father and I had been staying at Hotel Centroamericano a few blocks away when I suggested we book a night at Bahia Suites for a change of scenery, as it was only $10 more for an extra half-star (whatever sense that made). I used my iPhone to book a room for the next night and went to sleep. When we arrived, the gal behind the desk kept looking at the computer and said she couldn't find the reservation, but she was behaving very suspiciously, whispering into the ear of her colleague. I showed the confirmation email to her on my phone. Still acting strangely, she said ok and gave us two room keys. We put our luggage into our GROSS, disreapaired room, for which the /only/ lights were oppressive bare compact fluorescents on the ceiling above the beds perfectly positioned to glare into the eyes of anyone lying in his or her back, and ventured out for a long, exhausting day to the Gatun locks, Castillo San Lorenzo, and surrounding areas, noting the comparative nastiness (not a square foot of clean wall in the building, sketchy arrangement of furniture to conceal holes on walls, etc) of the hotel with its inexplicable extra half-star over the clean, handsome interior of Hotel Centralamericano. When we returned exhausted, the 20-something gal Abril F. behind the counter signaled us to tell us with a huge smile that there was a problem with our reservation and that I should take another look at the confirmation email. I did, and realized that when I booked the room, I had booked it for that night, now the previous night. Because the hotel was so vacant and it was no loss to them, there was an awkward moment of confusion because it should go without saying that they could understand the mistake owning to the peculiar date (Feb 28th) and credit us for the night we checked in. This is where things got outrageous. The gal behind the counter, Abril, absolutely unmistakably took pleasure in informing us that no such credit would be given, regardless of the fact that the hotel has differed no loss whatsoever. When we said okay then, we'll go get our luggage and sleep elsewhere, she took even greater pleasure in informing us that we would not be allowed to recover our luggage from the room it was moved to(!!!) unless we paid for an additional night. There is no way to exaggerate this: her confident extreme snarkiness, her ear-to ear grin, her exaggerated cutesy voice sarcasm, barely suppressing laughter, was unbelievable. This woman is a lunatic. Neither of us could believe our eyes to confront such gratuitous malice. The only way to imagine her mannerisms is to imagine a person finally in a power position above the perpetrator of some terrible atrocity done to her family decades ago. We were exhausted and needed to get to sleep in advance of a long drive the next day, so instead of calling the police, we just handed over a credit card, got new keys, loaded our luggage into our car, and called hotels.com to dispute the charge, a frustrating, fruitless process that exposed multiple lies on the part of the Hotel Bajia Suites staff, most significantly that she necessarily knew the mistake I had made before she allowed us to check in that morning. The dispute was left unresolved because the agent repeatedly telephoned the hotel while I stood in the lobby on hold only for Abril to refuse to answer their calls, all the while grinning from ear to ear as she looked straight into my eyes. While I disputed the charger the phone in the lobby, my father took a short nap in the room, and it is important to note that my view of the physical condition of the hotel itself is not colored by this event. Both rooms were absolutely disgusting. My extremely well traveled father was so put off by this outrageous event that I had to spend the next day convincing him not to fly home early. Neither of us can quit talking about how these people acted toward us, and we both are exceptionally polite people who go out of their way to embrace other cultures and spread friendliness. We are amazed. Beware!
Very convenient. Staff was very helpful.
The staff was friendly and efficient. Loved the food in the restaurant. The beds were very comfortable!
Clean and comfortable.
The hotel lobby is nicely decorated. We were given rooms on the 3rd floor and we were very disappointed when we saw the rooms but decided to stay and make the best of it. We were glad we did. Although the furnishings were old, the entire room, including the tile floor, was spotless. The mattress and sheets were clean. The air conditioner worked very well in one room and was adequate in the other room. Whatever the room lacked was made up by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. While I didn't eat every item that was served for breakfast, there were many items that I enjoyed and they were plentiful. There was fresh fruit and fresh juice every day that was delicious. The rooftop pool and restaurant were great. Drinks were inexpensive and delicious. We enjoyed our stay and I would stay there again. You cannot beat it for the price. If you book in advance, try to request a remodeled room on the 5th or 6th floor.
staff were very accommodating
Staff were very helpful in accommodating a number of requests that we had as well as providing information about the city. The room was one of the new ones and was clean and beds were comfortable. The windows did not lock because of poor installation but we did not feel it would be a problem, but is something the hotel should fix. Location is central enough to find many taxi's to the tourist destinations. Good place to stay with kids!
Decent stay if you don't mind taking taxis
If I was going to spend a few days sight seeing and eating out at local restaurants, I would not want to stay here. The room was old, stuffy, and dark. It met my needs, which was just an overnight stay in Panama City so that I could fly out the next day. But, having stayed in Panama City before in a much better location and hotel, I can tell you that there are better deals out there! You can get a private room w/ bathroom in a hostel for less. However, for the one night I was there, it was okay. The redeeming thing was the roof. The pool is small but still nice, and the food was actually very decent and not horribly overpriced. The staff was mostly helpful - out of the 4 people I interacted with, only one was a little "automated" and unhelpful.
Reasonably priced, modest hotel for short visit
This is a reasonably priced, modest but adequate hotel. For my purposes - overnighting in PC between flights - it was perfectly adequate. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet. Some rooms look over the ocean, about 1km away. The front desk staff were very helpful and amicable, and arranged for inexpensive transport to the old town at night for several different groups. Breakfast was good, extensive buffet, on terrace with small pool overlooking the city. Good value for $64/single.
Not worth it at all.
Located in an area that looks like a slum, I lost 2 nights of work because the internet stopped working. The breakfast is the same ham, sausage, eggs, fruit, and cereal every morning. Even on Christmas day. The rooms are ugly and the feel of everythign is cheap. We left after a few days and stayed at another hotel which was far more comfortable. Still waiting on my refund for the rest of the time. Don't waste your time with this hotel, it's not worth the stress.
Reasonably priced
The staff were very helpful, would have helped if more of them spoke / understood English . Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.
Not sure about this Hotel!
The front desk staff were quite accommodating and the room was OK. Somehow my wife's 3/4 Leather coat disappeared from our room. Unfortunately we didn't notice it until we packed for our next lodging in Panama, where I immediately called the front desk staff and told them of our dilemma....they proceeded to tell us that the maids did not find anything...funny thing is...that room was our 1st stop from the airport and both of us saw the coat was hung up in the closet with my winter coat. The leather coat was like a spring coat that my wife wore from BC because it was cool there when we left. I'm not very happy with the outcome...the maids were the only ones in our room during our stay...I'm just glad we paid extra for the safe key or I'm sure there would have been more missing.
Value for money hotel just to sleep
We used the hotel just to sleep the night before leaving from the airport. For this, I think it filled the purpose and the breakfast is generous and diverse. I would not use this hotel for long stay though as the rooms are not so good. It is just an Ok 3 star hotel.
