Perfect stay for old Quebec
Hotel Atypiq was amazing! They were super helpful and everyone was super friendly! The location was safe and accessible to many shops and restaurants in Quebec City. I highly recommend this hotel!
It is a nice hotel with small comfortable and close to everything. Excellent for a short stay
Fruit flies in the room, other than that it was good. Great location and price.
Pas assez User Friendly.
Il y a pas assez d'indications pour accompagner les clients sur la manipulation des lits escamotables et l'accès à la cuisine.
Property is unique. I would have rated 4 stars but we never got the air/heat controlled even after switching rooms. The thermostat would show 19 programmed but the room was 25! The hallways were also super hot. Rooms are small and unique but functional for the price we paid. Bed raises and lowers to allow space for a folding table. Very IKEA feeling but ok. Shower was great. Staff were friendly but the hotel is only staffed 12-8 otherwise by touchscreen or phone. Breakfast is actually a self serve kitchen where you and other guests could prepare your own food and wash the dishes. Cereal, eggs, bread and juice/milk available as well as coffee machine. Again, odd and unique. Overall was ok but the heat made it not such a good stay.
Came here for a two night romantic getaway, room was much smaller than I initially thought, but we loved it. If you weren't comfortable with the person you came with you will be after lol. That said, its says soundproof rooms, though you can hear people above you lugging and dropping stuff. The room behind us around 3am we believed they were setting up the bed but it pushed our wall in therefore waking us up. Also, the communal kitchen is extremely clean and we wish we actually brought more groceries with us as you can cook anything your want even a cake lol. Minimal staff in site, though when there, they are extremely helpful. I personally would stay there again as it was cute, warm and very comfortable and so close to everything, especially the Christmas Market was across the street :) also, underground parking is around the corner. Make sure you park at the hotel, check in bring your stuff in and then go and park. Enjoy your stay :)
Small and compact but yery affordable
A great and definitely not a typical hotel. They have all amenities in the room but with a twist of small space. Everything was clean and location is perfect for a weekend in Old Quebec City
Great place
It is a great price for such a central location. The rooms are small, but what an ingenious idea to hang the bed to the ceiling! Also, reasonably priced parking close by.
Location is great. Property is very clean and quite. Rooms are too small and bed doesn't lock after pulling down to floor and shakes while charging sides. Self serve breakfast is 24x7 which is great.
Nice little room, near everything.
Hotel Atypique
Was small but nice. We were only there at night. Bed was very comfortable. Shower was great. Kitchen had eggs, cereal, bread, and cooking utensils. Very helpful and informative manager on duty.
Very convenient location and friendly staff
Overall everything is pretty good
Easy to get to the most famous view points, friendly staff, good service, nice 24/7kitchen
This hotel is certainly different, not our cup of tea but others seem to love it
Excellent service to use kitchen
It was a unique experience for sure! The room was tiny (as previously disclosed), but the bed and shower were great! I wish there had been a little more to add to the make-your-own eggs, like ham, cheese and vegetables. Bananas would have been nice as well.
The compact room was efficient and comfortable! At first a little quirky but an interesting concept! I loved the full kitchen (complete with food access!) where you can cook your own meals!
Rooms too small
We booked this at the last minute mostly because of location and price. We were a little worried about its size 100 sq. ft. but it worked out well. They used tiny home technology to use the space efficiently. We actually loved it. The room was very clean and comfortable and had an adequate bathroom with shower; TV and small fridge. The communal breakfast room was well outfitted and included fruit, fresh eggs, bread, juice, coffee, hot chocolate and tea. You could cook your own eggs or bring in items to cook on the hot plates. They had a washer/drier and a couple of nice outside areas. It was easy walking to the historical sites, shops and restaurants of Old Quebec. The only downsides were the walk to the parking garage (about 5 min.); you had to wash your own dishes and if you were much over 6 ft. you might feel cramped in the room. We would definitely stay here again.
Great spot and really close to all sightseeing attractions to go by foot.
The room was very compact. We had to pull the bed from the ceiling. Our flight into Quebec was Delayed and by the time we got to the hotel, the doors were locked. Rang the doorbell several times. We thought we were going to have to sleep on the curb until some finally answered. It was the hotel next door that took care of late arrivals. The room was good enough to spend the night before leaving the next morning for a cruise.
Very small room, as was advertised. We were happy with our stay!
Rooms were tiny but extremely efficient!
Petit mais bien situé
C’est vraiment petit. Je le savais mais c’est encore plus petit que je le croyais. Très bien situé par contre.
Very clean and convenient to visit old town
Perfect location for visiting Quebec City!
👍
Great location, tiny but clean room, friendly staff.
Great concept. Rooms are perfect for people who are active. Pull the bed down for sleeping. Push it up if you need seating.
The rooms are very small. We found our bed on the ceiling. Other than that we love the place and the vibe. We liked the self made breakfast and the fact the kitchen was stocked with breakfast items and could be used at any time. The roof top deck was fun. My husband kept hitting his head on the bed before I figured out how to get it down. Overall we liked the place and are willing to return.
Great small hotel
The hotel uses its small space very efficiently. Every space in the room is utilized. The room was small, but still had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is right in the heart of Old Quebec City-walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The staff were very nice and helpful. There is a communal kitchen for guest use. If you are looking for a fancy stay, this hotel isn’t for you, but if you want a clean, quiet, comfortable place to stay, this is it.
Great location. Tight room.
Great location. Very tight room, but it's fine if you plan on being out and about and just needing a centralized location to sleep. Paid parking was close by and super reasonable.
They never cleaned my room. The first morning, I briefly put the do not disturb sign on my door when I went down to breakfast but I took it off before I left to sightsee. The next 2 days, I did not put any sign on my door and still returned back to a dirty room. Since there is no staff on site in the evenings and the cleaning crew is long gone, there was no one to call to ask for fresh towels
The rooms are very small but it was perfectly located for exploring the city which was all we needed. Everything was within walking distance and endless options of restaurants only a 2 min walk down the hill to Rue St. Louis. The tiny room is a bit inconvenient but we weren’t in the room much so it wasn’t a problem. Shower was nice and hot, great water pressure. Didn’t have breakfast here as it was very minimal and the kitchen was busy with people cooking their own breakfast most days as it is a fully usable kitchen. Kind of a hostel vibe in the common spaces. But we enjoyed the automatic espresso machine each morning! Parking is not available at the hotel, but the parking garage is only a short walk and not too expensive for a city (approx 20 CAN a night) so even with the additional parking cost this hotel is a great deal for a clean place to sleep in the heart of the city.
Cool bed!
Really cool bed that we pulled down from the ceiling. A great use of a small small!
Very convenient location. The hotel has a kitchen and provides basic ingredients such as milk, eggs, pasta, ... so that you can cook your own food.
Ideal location, yet small
We had a nice stay for a week in Quebec City. It is a very small room and bathroom, but this didn't bother us. Beware that there are not a lot of plugs. The shower was the only thing that bothered me a bit. It was very small and water would splash out onto the floor. The breakfast was a bit lacking in my opinion. It was just apples and oranges, toast, cereal, and eggs. You had to prepare it yourself and clean up afterwards. This is fine if you have time, but I preferred to find a fun cafe nearby. How the place was clean, quiet, and the staff was friendly and helpful. It's location was unbeatable especially with the price that we paid. The outdoor seating was also great!
The rooms are very small but the hotel is a reasonable price and well located. The kitchen area could have used a good clean.
I didn't quite expect from the properry. Room was very small, bathroom was very small and we felt claustrophobic. It did have Scandanavian touch and used the very small place efficiently. Not for us. Checking in was horrible. Although I had checked i on line, I still had to wait till 4:30 to get my keys.
Nothing only a very bad review. Details of what the property really looked like was only explained in their email on arrival.
Great experience! Hotel was unique. Room was compact which is interesting
Comfortable hotel in a perfect location, in the old downtown Québec.
Excellent location! Loved the “transformer” bed. You do your own breakfast, which was very cool;) clean place! Spectacular shower…I wish my shower was like that;) I will come back for sure!
Breakfast was kind of hectic. Everyone trying to make breakfast and lots of dirty dishes.
Great hotel, great location. Walking distance to all the main attractions. Would definitely stay again.
Small rooms, no place to sit once bed is down, except a stool. Folding chairs would de good. Once luggage was in room very crowded. Location excellent, a place to sleep for one night, I guess its ok.
Very easy check-in and checkout, love the community kitchen and the use of every inch in room.
Very small. Little room to walk around bed or change clothes or open suitcase. No attendants at the desk most of the time. No attendant at breakfast & dirty dishes everywhere & no one clean them. No sugar. Had to ask room attendant to find sugar for coffee. No one around at check out to help get a taxis.
It's different, in a good way (very European). Just as advertised.
The room was way smaller than I expected, but I liked their self-service kitchen!
This hotel is certainly an atypic one. Upon arriving to the hotel, you begin by the self check in, which is supposed to be done on the touchscreen computer at the entrance of the kitchen area. I am certainly used to all types of touch devices and applications of that type and I can see that the software that they use could be improved. I was basically stuck on a UI bug at the signature step and I had to basically start over again at least two times. Generally, the touchscreen that they use for this computer is very slow to respond to touch inputs and uses tactile input which is not as precise and reliable as a normal capacitive display found on devices like an iPad or an iPhone. when I got past that, I only had to pay the deposit fee, but then the computer got stuck on receiving the inputs from the payment terminal. The employee that was there just mentioned that those problems were known and offered me to complete the deposit fee payment separately on another device. I am wondering on why the hotel hasn't fixed those problems if they are being experienced by guests, keep in mind that I am a technically inclined person, so I can clearly imagine that other guests would have problems as well completing self check in. When I was trying to find information on the room equipment or hotel, I did scan the QR codes to display the online guide that they have for the hotel but busy the link of the QR code was invalid and there was no document loading on that link.
This hotel should be described as a youth hostel, not a full service hotel. The description is misleading. The breakfast is not "included." There is a kitchen available with supplies for cooking your breakfast, but you have to prepare it yourself and clean up afterwards. The elevated bed was inconvenient for my husband and myself. We are seniors and my husband has mobility issues, so this hotel was completely wrong for us. It appeared clean the staff member was polite. I would never have reserved this room had the description been more accurate. We did not stay because of these issues and unfortunately we were not refunded for the two nights we had paid for. I have used Expedia for many years and this is the first disappointment I've had.
The location is so convenient, right in the heart of Old Quebec. The room is small but just the size we needed for a short stay and more time anticipated outside the hotel room than inside. The use of space is efficient, with a bed that elevates. The bed is very comfortable. It was nice to have some self-serve breakfast options included. The common spaces are aesthetically pleasing. And the price is great!
Séjour parfait
Emplacement et chambre parfait
Interesting Youth Hostel model hotel which encourages interaction with other guests and staff. The "loft" style bed came as a surprise but was no inconvenience. Great, easy access to all sites in Old Quebec.
This property was exactly as we had imagined. The rooms were small but efficient, think Europe, but the use of the shared kitchen, outdoor deck and patio area more than made up for it. We will be back again.
Parfait
Ohhhh wow! Quelle belle découverte. Nous venons régulièrement dans le vieux Québec et c’est une première à cette hôtel. Une belle terrasse avec foyer extérieur pour prendre l’apéro. Chambre tellement bien adaptée vu sa superficie! Ingénieux!
Chambre petite; peu confortable.
I would stay here again.
cleanliness is superb n excelent. walkable to old town. worth value of money
This hotel is a good mix of a hostel and a hotel. It’s barebones but is affordable as a result. We enjoyed the shared kitchen which was well stocked. Everyone was friendly and polite. The room was well appointed, clean, and comfortable. The only thing I might have wanted was a hairdryer, but I also didn’t ask for one, which may have been available on request.
Very neat and clean
Great central location.
Cool room set up!! The bed is pulled up yo the ceiling when not needed to give more space. It is a small room for not more.than 2 people. The only issue we encountered was not being able to get the TV to work for streaming. We enjoyed our stay!
The room was very small but I loved the convertible furniture and reconfigurable nature of the room. I'd only seen it on travel shows before! They may want to warn travelers of the physical nature of the room. The shared kitchen and space was very nice. Would stay there again!
Terrace firepit to warm up in the evenings
Nice for a stop-over
It was good ! Gotta check-in next door if you arrive past 11PM I think, and be aware that the rooms are small. It was perfect for a one nighter on the way east, however, i feel it would've been too small for an extended stay (2++ days). With the shared kitchen downstairs, it really gave and Hostel with separate room feel.
The room I stayed in is small, but this hotel has a full kitchen (they provide bread, eggs, apples, and orange juice for breakfast every morning). There are supermarkets nearby outside of Old Quebec with 15 minute walking distance. If you purchase groceries and cook your own food using this kitchen, you will save a lot of money than eating at restaurants.
Good
Nice rooms, a little narrow but enough to be comfortable.
Rtty
The construction in the street and it made hard to get at with our car!
All we needed squished into a small space was perfect for our stay. Fun new minimalist way. Making our own breakfast was good and having the option of use of kitchen was good. Being able to leave our luggage until we could board our train was a huge benefit. Close to all the Old Quebec sites.
room was so small and I didnt know bed is raised up. breakfast is included but I didnt expect I have to cook
Cute small room with a good use of space, great shower, friendly staff, amazing location easy to get all over old Quebec, parking is maybe 200m away it was $36 for two nights.
Petit mais bien placé
Les chambres sont vraiment petites mais l’hôtel est très bien situé
The hotel was really neat and the location was excellent I had a really good experience at this hotel
Enjoyed & Recommend
Good for a short solo stay
Quirky hotel conveniently located in the middle of Vieux-Québec. Accommodations are really best for solo travelers - there is not room for much but the bed when descended, and there is no sound/air insulation between the sleeping area and the bathroom. In fact, you entered my room through the bathroom - quite a strange layout. Toilets were public-bathroom-style, which was also strange. However, I had a lovely view onto the street from my room, and I was very comfortable for the three nights I stayed. Didn't use the common kitchen as there were so many great dining options steps away.
CLEAN, CLOSE TO EATERYS, WALKABLE TOATTRACTIONS, HELPFUL CHECK IN STAFF, SELF SERV BREKKY, WALK TO TRAIN STAION,
Having to pull the bed down was cool The air conditioner made a buzzing noise all night so hard to sleep
.
Hotel was safe, clean and easy to find. Room was cozy but comfortable. Movable bed was a fun way to accommodate space. Rooms were eye catching and modern. Employees were spectacular. Great customer service, friendly and helpful. Very happy with our stay.
No parking , one of the staff was so bad with no explanation we ask where is parking she hand me piece of paper and we had lost all day beacuse no parking safe !!
Very unique room set up. Everything you need in a small space. The breakfast area was somewhat unconventional as you had to do your own dishes. Options for breakfast were okay but the sister hotel had much better selection. Area is convenient to explore the city.
Atypic hotel in good way
Great location in the center of old town, very small room just large enough to sleep in. Breakfast arrangement was different cooking and cleaning up your own dishes
Great utilization of space! A truly unique experience. Great options for do it yourself breakfast too.
I'd stay here again.
Great area to stay and walk around. The facility looks brand new, everything worked as supposed to be. What was different? Breakfast available but you need to prepare your food yourself and do dishes after all. You can check in and out through a Kiosk. Room is small but very functional. I liked it.
Disappointed
Unfortunately upon our arrival, the AC was broken and leaking in our room, our toilet was also clogged. There were no rooms available to allow us to switch so we had to turn off the AC. They unclogged the toilet. Slightly disappointed with the size (bed drops down from the ceiling). But it's an ok stay for 1 night. More than that would be tight. Budget friendly but could have been better.
Excellent stay. Lovely shower. Bed pretty comfortable. Walking distance to all of Old Quebec. Sure, the rooms are on the smaller side, but if you’re staying in that part of town, you’re probably there to spend most of your time outside the room!
Its very very too small can move nowhere
Clean
The carpet in the room was wet because of the shower. Smell bad.
The room was just enough to sleep in. If you wanted to spend time in the room forget it it is too small. Besides that all you need is a place to sleep and to clean up after a long day of touristy activities. The room is perfect for this. You could make your own meals, the property has a full kitchen with microwave, induction plates, pots/pans. You can make your own breakfast. There was even an espresso machine so you could make Latte, espresso, or other choices.
Very cool.
