We like the location, easy to access via bus from Tokyo Station or subway, but the subway is usually too crowded for visitors to navigate with luggage in tow. The subway is the best way to go places without baggage over buses. Being in Asakusa, a block from the riverwalk, and nearby Skytree made walking around the area a good hotel to be at. The rooftop view was sensational. The only drawback for us was how small and cramped the room was. Its only window faces a building wall and can only open just enough to let fresh air in until some clown below lights up a cigarette and the smoke wafts into your room 😒 However, even though the room is small, guests can lounge in the lobby, bring in food to eat there, or enjoy the rooftop view where there is additional outdoor seating.
Damp Room
Room was very damp and humid with a wet towel smell. The bathroom doors also auto shut so you'll hear everyone waking up in the morning and the bathroom door slamming. The smoking area is right in front of the hotel, so the lobby smells like an ashtray.
Would recommend for a short stay
Views from the rooftop are lovely, can see the sky tree at night whilst having some snacks. Location and transport wise is lovely, convenience stores nearby. Asakusa temple also a short 10-15 mins walk as well as a few good hidden food options. Near 2 metro lines making it easy to move around Tokyo There's only 1 small lift to go up to the floors where the rooms are so in the mornings and nights, you'll have to wait for a lift or 2 to go back to the room since it gets crowded very quickly. Incredibly small room for 2 people and 2 suitcases (one large, one medium) but it seems rather normal for Tokyo. The room that was assigned to us did not have good ventilation causing it to smell damp if you didn't keep the ventilator on (made the mistake the first 2 hours of our stay). When we came back from dinner, it smelled incredibly damp and we asked for a room change due to one of us being asthmatic. With some reluctance and going back-and-forth, we were offered an alternative but it smelled to smoke. We were told by the manager that all rooms are non-smoke, clearly not. We still appreciated that they tried to change it, even if we had to push for it. Cleaning done every 3 nights. We stayed 6 and never got cleaning for our room since we were never informed that if we are not out of the room by 10-11am, the person cleaning would not come back (info on this would be appreciated!) TLDR: rooms are small with ventilation problems but it's clean, would recommend for a night or 2
Staff were very friendly. Main sights and great restaurants were walkable. Not too busy but enough to give you the vibe you want from Tokyo. Beautiful rooftop terrace.
Location is perfect, few minutes walk from Asakusa Station. Rated service low because staff claimed no allowing overnight luggage storage though Expedia advertised otherwise.
Hotel Amanek
The room was very small. Very little room to move around, but it wasn’t terribly. It was actually comfortable. But what was terrible about it is the smell. From the room/bathroom. We stayed for 3 nights and I just don’t know why I didn’t thought of switching rooms. I’m pretty sure they will accommodate me. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Convenient location, helpful staff. Easy to get to different subway line. Close to site seeing and Skytree. Extremely small room. If you are over 6 foot, there is no way that you can feel comfortable
Room has bad smell. Toilet is moldy and smelly as well. Room size is real small (smaller than spa). Towel is aged and rough and thin.
This is a nice hotel near a lot of shopping, transportation etc. Quiet. Clean. Rooms are small, but the view from the roof terrace is stunning.
Great view from the window on Sumida river and tokyo skytree. LOVED IT! Location was amazing, very close to 3 different metro lines. Staff was super polite and always helpful. Everything was very clean. What could be improved is the storage space, even adding a hanging shelf etc could already make the life easier in such a small room.
We booked 4 rooms here for 8 people total (2 per room) and our room was lovely. Clean, comfortable, and with a great view of the Sumida River and Sky Tree. However, my other friends said their Double Room (1 bed) was realllyy small. They said there wasnt enough room to open up their luggage and such. For us, it was a little bit more spacious but we managed to make it work by using the space under our beds. Other rooms did not have space under the beds. So im guessing every room is different... luckily ours was just right. What made it even more special was the fact that the staff was super friendly, patient, and helpful. They helped us move our luggage to another hotel at a fair price (roughly 2000~ yen for a big luggage bag) it made our travels much easier! Thank you for everything.
I liked the rooftop the view was amazing!
The location is excellent but the room was very small and there was no room to open baggies. And there is no a safety box in the room and they don’t even keep variables at the front desk. Only I liked that there was a roof top. The scenery was beautiful.
Excellent location.
Staff were amazing and both helpful and friendly. An extremely enjoyable experience :)
Everything was great. The only thing that stopped me giving 5 stars overall was the rooms being very small. We knew this when we booked so it wasn’t a surprise. We slept well and the air conditioning was effective enough to cool the room despite very high temperatures outside. It was clean and the shower was excellent
Even though the room was small, it was clean and well laid out. The staff promptly replaced towels daily and kindly delivered a letter sent to me at the hotel.
Too tight around for a price
Pros: -Great location within walking distance of the Ginza line and the Asakusa line -Clean property/room -Air conditioning worked great during the hot July days -Extremely close to Sen-soji and the sky tree -Roof top view is nice Cons -Doesn't have laundry machines although there are coin laundry’s nearby -Rooms on the smaller side which is typical of Tokyo hotels -Showers were on the very short side, I’m 6’1 and had to crouch to shower and my partner is 5’9 and also struggled a bit Overall for the price though it’s hard to complain: safe, cool, inexpensive, and conveniently located.
Very cozy room. Love how the bed is elevated and separated from the floor where shoes are worn.
I liked the property overall as the staff were friendly and helpful and the room cleaning service was nice as well. I also enjoyed that there was several restaurants and even a temple with a outdoor market nearby. If anything the only thing I didn’t like to much was that the rooms were a little small but other then that it was a great stay.
Tiny budget hotel
Value for money and clean but the Room is tiny and Japanese Style bed is not for us. Near train station.
Small rooms budget hotel
Very small rooms. Near subway station. Lots of restaurants but they close early.
The staff was great meeting the needs of the guests.
Surprise!!
A tiny hotel in Asakusa with easy Access. We was thinking the hotel must upgraded our room!! Super surprise when opened up the door!! The skytree, the river and the bridge was there in front of our eyes!! What a wonderful treat for 2 nights stay, thank you!! Room was tiny, but comfortable. This hotel wasn't have enough space for big size luggage. A gentleman working in the reception spoke good English, and knowing the direction well!! Thank you for his help, very polite also! Nothing special for the roof top though. But good for a team having a little party, would feeling good!! I would love to stay there again!
Staffs are nice. Nice rooftop to view Tokyo Skytree anytime
Location is very good, just 5 minute from subway. The hotel rooftop is open 24 hr. that you can take nicely picture of Tokyo Sky Tree. The room is very clean!!!
Excellent service, friendly front desk, easy checkin process. Spotless clean. Tiny rooms.
The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful especially regarding directions around the city. Keep up the great customer service!
Not bad for the location but the rooms are very small especially if you are staying with more than two people. Great for short trips to the Asakusa and surrounding areas which are easily accessible via train/subway. Beds and pillows left much to be desired regarding comfort. Not for the claustrophobic though. Our room had a great view of the Tokyo Skytree and famous Asahi Beer landmark along the Sumida River.
It’s not bad for a one night stay. The location is great for the market and temple. It’s very very small which is typical of Tokyo BUT the room is very inefficient. Not only is it small but they also made it unusable. They built a platform all around the bed so the only floor space you have is the 2’x4’ hallway which you need to keep clear because the room and bathroom doors open into it. So if you’re more than one person( we were 2) good luck opening a carry on to grab things or honestly doing anything at the same time.
OK
Great location, the room cleaning was hit or miss at days, one or two day stay OK
Great place for a great value price
Superb hotel in a great location. Simple, clean and easy.
I had a good stay in a double room for 5 nights by myself. The hotel is clean and convenient - especially to and from Narita Airport.
Improve staff services
Amazing area with lots to see and do without massive crowds! Close walk to Senso-ji Temple and other shopping streets and areas! Hotel was incredibly clean with an amazing view of the river and Tokyo Skytree from the rooftop! Room was super clean, size is what you’d normally expect for a hotel in Japan. We travelled with two large suitcases and managed to fit both in the room with a double bed so it was still quite decent for space! Water pressure from the shower was great also! Would’ve loved to have laundry facilities at the hotel but plenty around within walking distance so that wasn’t an issue! Highly recommend Hotel Amanek if you’d like to be in a more neighbourly area but still be close to some tourist attractions!
Very clean , good service
They’ve given us to very good service . Thanks so much , I will make booking again When l stay in Tokyo .
The hotel was great especially the rooftop terrace but the cleaning team were always late and sometimes had to remind them.overall the hotel is great and fun
Handy to Asakusa subway and temples. Cosy and clean.
Quite good location with a nice view especially the rooftop! Unobstructed view of the Tokyo Skytree. Location is also accessible via Asakusa Station with direct train to Narita or Haneda, and many more places. Sensoji is just about 5 minutes walk. Staff were also very helpful and responds to any query fast. Room is perfect for solo traveler! Another plus points, Family mart is just across the road!
Great location!
Our 2nd home away from home
The location is good, close to the train station. Enjoy the rooftop view, though the room size is small but it is acceptable because spending time mostly outside.
The location is excellent. Very close to train station exit A2b with elevator and attractions. Expecting the rooms to be tiny, we booked a deluxe double. The only passage to the bed (the end of the bed) is blocked by the wall hung TV. Once you climbed on the bed, it is quite comfortable and has a view of the Skytree. The breakfast is good. Checkout at 10am is a bit rushed. The view from rooftop is awesome. The staffs are very nice.
I like the roof top and can see a beautiful view from there
New hotel Small room Good location Near station Good view
Very small room beds on the bench no bunk for bed.it is one person bed nowhere to put your luggage The most terrible experience in my lifetime
Room space extremely uncomfortable. Need to upgrade the use of limited space for hanging clothes. A light switch is needed near the bed to control the off lights.
Everything is good and nice. Just that the room is quite small.
Location is just right besides station, staff is helpfulness. Value of money. Hotel size in japan is small, if u have two baggage it might abit troubles for u to open both at the same time. Lastly, there is no air purifier in the room, but i requested from the staff, they find one for me.
Really nice decor, but didn’t like the early check out time of 10am
Ok hotel
Very small but I guess it’s just how Tokyo is. But weird thing is they won’t do room cleaning if it’s after 11am. We wanted to sleep in to have more energy to go out for sightseeing and missed room cleaning services everyday. Too bad. But amenities are amazing and very clean hotel. Location is good too
Very clean hotel! The bed was super comfortable for me. WiFi and AC worked really well. Extremely close to the A line. Friendly staff who made checking in and out very fast and easy.
Nice hotel, tiny rooms.
Great location near subway for our 3 nights stay in the Asakusa neighbourhood. The hotel, and rooms are sleek and stylish but one major drawback is the size of the rooms. We stayed in a Double room (2 adults) and were incredibly limited to move around, let alone open our luggages and get dressed. The bathroom is a decent size with nice bath amenities. The rooftop terrace is a plus, with incredible views of the Skytree. Overall a nice stay.
Good clean place 2 min walk from train to narita. Bed is comfortable and shower nice
Room was as advertised, but much smaller than what i imagined. My misunderstanding. Very little space. But comfortable. pajama was provided. .
Nice, clean, good location. Worth the price...but very small.
Person behind the desk have no authority to change or extend reservation. We extend our stay, using Expedia, where price was cheaper twice then in hotel
Due to difference in time, we did not realize that we are checking in in June 29. We arrived on June 30 and let to hotel know about it for 48 hours. Apparently, they counting differently and count 48 hours in Japanese time. No any help or adjustment. They just offer to cancel reservation without refund and buy room directly from them. They offer room worse then we reserve initially and twice more expensive. They have NO CUSTOMER service. No English! Person behind desk have no authority to solve any problem and keep telling that boss is not available as there is local holiday. Never coming back!
Too small for 2 persons. Not advisable for seniors to stay.
Very friendly and help staff. Rooms were immaculate and was great viewfromf the roof of the skytree.
Good location
A new but very small hotel. The standard rooms are designed to accommodate everything in a very tight space. Mattresses are placed on a platform with luggage storage underneath. Platform is high which makes it difficult for elderly or guests with joint issues to climb up to bed. Space is tight. Hard to move about if you are a large person. Breakfast is a decent Japanese western spread with limited seating area. Location is good, next to Exit A2b of Asakusa station. Rooftop terrace offers a great view of the Skytree at night. Short walk to Sensoji temple. Note that there’s no launderette in hotel. The closest one is 10 minutes away and there’s only 1 elevator serving the entire hotel.
More suited for young guests
A new but very small hotel. The standard rooms are designed to accommodate everything in a very tight space. Mattresses are placed on a platform with luggage storage underneath. Platform is high which makes it difficult for elderly or guests with joint issues to climb up to bed. Space is also very tight. Very hard to move around if you are a large person. We got an upgrade for one of the rooms to a Deluxe Twin which was more spacious. The only way to open the luggage is to place it against the door and place it under the platform after you’re done. Bathrooms are tiny. Pyjamas and toiletries are provided.
Room are small
Room are small, we cant even open two luggage at the same time. And the bed not clean and still found some human hairs on it. But location of the hotel is nice, close to Asakusa station with less than 5min walking distance.
Room was too small. barely any space for 2 luggages
Room very small ,good location
This hotel is brand new and very comfortable. Room is clean and there is Family Mart just located opposite the building.
Our room was too small for two people! There wasn’t even room for the suitcases. Fortunately the staff was able to give us a slightly bigger room.
Nice hotel very close to the metro station. The room is very nice and clean.
Rooms were very small and not well designed. There was no closet space, just a few hooks and hangers.
The room that I have sleep just only 2 people but it’s so big and large both bedroom and bathroom. The staff was nice and helpful. The only thing that I don’t like is the time to checkout is so early 10 am. !!!!!!!! And can check-in so late about 3 pm.
New hotel but room for 3 oerson very very tight.
New hotel
Clean and comfortable
Great location, friendly staff and a nice clean room.
Goods: Location was good. Check in staff were good with multilingual skills of English, Japanese, and mandarin. Bad: room was tiny.. Basically just the bed when you walk in the room. We booked room with a view on the site and ended up with a room facing a building. I lost my luggage and had to call my credit card which was an international toll free number, but the hotel did not allow any international calls.
Good location, 2mins walk to Asakusa Station. Rooftop has a nice view of Tokyo Skytree and the river. Room is very small, but comes with pyjamas, slippers, and the bed is big and comfortable. Bathroom is big with nice bath tub. Great amenities. Overall, couldn’t ask more for this price, I would stay here again.
Convenient as near the subway n train station but twin beded room is too small, there is no space for us to place two cabin bags n we have to climb
Very convenient
This hotel is very clean. I stayed in a full size bed room with my wife. The room has a tablet that I have never used. There is a small fridge. A lot of AC outlets. My room has almost everything: toothbrushes, toothpaste, comb, hair dryer, razor blades, q-tips, etc. I think Tokyo hotels try to compensate the size with amenities which I am happy about that. Rooftop has a nice view of the river and Skytree. There is a toilet and a vending machine up there too. Family Mart is across the street. Aeon is on the next block. It is on the same block with A-Line Asakusa Station which Keisei Narita Skyaccess stop there. If you choose the right train, there will be no train changes. Ginza line is only 2 blocks away. Another line is about 3 blocks away. By the way, anime and manga fans would love this. It is just a block away from Bandai Headquarter.
Good value but small room
New, clean hotel. Convenient location. Amazing views from the roof terrace.
Great location and reasonable price
Good, clean, modern hotel a few steps from the exit of Asakusa station. Absolutely tiny room with no view from our window but carefully thought out and fairly typical for Tokyo. We enjoyed our stay and extended for an extra night.
Slightly claustrophobic hotel room
Teeny, tiny hotel room! There was approximately 1 square metre of floor space! Could only open our 2 moderately-sized suitcases on the bed and then slide them in the under-bed compartment after we were done with our luggage. Otherwise new bathroom, easy check-in/out and luggage storage.
Super close to the metro. Clean. Nice staff. Perfect for a short stay!
Dusty, dirty and small room. Unprofessional staff
The hotel was very dusty. In the corners near the bed head. The bed sheet was not clean, there was either a blood stain or chocolate who knows! After 5 mins checking in, I went back downstairs and told the receptionist that it wasnt clean, they didnt believe me at first, then I said “please come upstairs and have a look together” the guy saw it with his own eyes and believed me so they changed our room to level 10, which was super dusty in every corner, also the room waa super small. I would never stay there ever again. Disgusting and the picture on the web was deceiving. Oh and the check out time is 10am. NOT 11. Very dissapointing and disguisting. See in the pictures (the white bits) is thick dust. And that is above our head. Never again!!!! I wanr my money back!! Bad experience. Horrible. Don’t stay here.
Good location and staff friendly
nice place to stay but the reception staff could be more friendlier
A good cheap stay in Asakusa
Cons - Overall good stay, clean and convenient. Hotel is near to the Asakusa line elevator exit, so traveling with luggage was convenient. Service was excellent. They accidentally overcharged me by about $10 one of the nights and came to the room personally with a profuse apology all the way down to the lobby. I also like that there was a microwave in the lobby, and the roof top view of Sumida River and Skytree was excellent. Few cons - a little far from the Ginza line entrance/exit. Room size is smaller than average. Only one lift for the whole hotel which means some waiting at times.
I checked in with another couple, we both paid the same price for our rooms but theres includes free breakfast and I have to pay on top of my room rate for breakfast, ridiculous
Excellent!!!! 5min to Asakusa station, very new and clean, you have all facilities you need, you can see the skytree from the room which is awesome! The only bad thing is that the room is very small so better not-to bring so much luggage but definitely the best one comparing to same type and price range hotels.
new hotel, convenience, very close to subway.
Fine hotel, great area
Nice hotel but extremely small rooms - even for Japanese standards. We booked a 'Deluxe' room to have a view of the river, but it was too small for two, slim, agile people to move around the room unless one person sat on the bed while the other tried to move. We asked to move to a cheaper room, which was bigger, and it was perfectly fine for our stay since we were not there very much. Would not recommend for anyone over approximately 5'11" otherwise you'll be too tall for the shower. Askakusa, however, is a great area - there is a lot to see and very accessible for the airport as the less expensive Kansei Skyliner goes directly to Narita from Asakusa station, about two minutes walk from the hotel.
Very convenient location. Just 5mins walk to 雷門寺. Although the room is a bit small, it is quite common to see in japan. Surprisingly, the bed is slightly bigger than normal double bed side. We had a very nice slp :)
Very small rooms but it is fine if you plan to be out all day. Hard to fit more than 2 luggages. Very kind and welcoming staff. Would stay here again 🙂
Nice but a little noisy
Small rooms which are expected for Japan standards but it was really clean. Can be a little noisy due to the close proximity to the main road and and soundproofing between rooms could have been better. The location is next to perfect as it was walking distance to Sensoji and only 3 mins walk to the airport rail.
very convenient hotel for the Asakusa shrine and right beside the Asakusa metro and Ginza line.
Central Hub for All Your Travel
Located quite close to the Asakusa station (Asakusa Line) and only a few more steps to the Ginza line, this hotel is a great hub for tourists that are planning to make the most out of their Tokyo stay. Full room cleaning is once every several days but you have the option to get it done more regularly or get new towels if desired. The bathroom is a bit roomier than other similar places I’ve stayed. In addition to the friendly staff and great value Room, there is a rooftop terrace that gives you a create view of the river and the Tokyo Skytree. I highly recommend booking this property if your a solo or couple travelling.
Small but nice and clean
Very clean room and fully furnished with any tips of amenities, staff very friendly and professional. Room Very small
Convenient location even a bit outskirt
Very convenient location heading to airport especially with big luggages as the lift entrance to train station is just 2 mins away from main door. While you need to proceed to Ginza line (staircase) for town area exploration which is around 4-5 mins. Friendly front desk with superb attitude to enquiries. Grateful to choose this hotel with great services even though the room is relatively small.
Close to Asakusa station. Good view from the rooftop.
Worth a try
Stayed 4 nights, unexpectedly comfortable. Newly open hotel. Reasonable price. Very clean. Small room with just enough equipment and facilities, especially the spacious bathtub. Nice view from the rooftop. The responsible female cleaning staff impressed us. Very convenient location, less than 1 minute walk if you take exit A2B from Asakusa Station (Toei Asakusa Line - A18) or 5 minutes walk from Asakusa Station (Ginza Line - G19). A convenient store is just opposite to the hotel.
Greta people great hotel!
It was very clean and nice!!
BE AWARE SCAM!! Rooms are nothing as presented. Our room had no window. We don't mind staying in a small room, but here we basically didn't have space for 2 suitcases and shoes. Don't recommend. Ruin my end of trip in Japan.
