My room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel seems new and located nearby metro station and that made visiting many places so easy. I highly recommend this hotel.

The room was okay except the shower handle that didn’t hold in place so we needed to shower and hold the handle throughout the whole time. There is no free parking available around the hotel. The green zone parking is available be need to be paid from 8am to 9pm. Other than that, it was an okay hotel.

The hotel was easy access for the metro into Barcelona. The room was great and not noisy at all. The breakfast was delicious.

No one was accommodated in the hotel until 14:00. We arrived at 13:00, there were about 30 people in the lobby, many with small children. No one was even asked for a passport or reservation number to check if their number was already ready. We had 10 people, I tried to find out if at least one room was ready. Received a refusal. Exactly at 14:00, a large queue lined up and everyone began to settle. You can't eat anywhere in the hotel during the siesta. Not even room service. You can't even order a burger or pizza. All this begins to work only at 20:00. If you are out of the way, the chances of something to eat before 20:00 are zero. And we arrived on Sunday, even markets and supermarkets did not work nearby. The room is dirty!

The area is very quiet. Only the interstate is heard when window is open. But air conditioner is fantastic and windows are very solid! Nice size room and bathroom! Great access to public transport and interstate.

Our stay at alimera

Near train station and nice size room, friendly staff. What i did not like ..very long check in. AC was not strong enough in the room ...breakfast out of diferent hotels we stayed on this trip (7 different hotels) this breakfast was a very poor spread ..even granola that all hotels had this one did not ..

Very far away from downtown. Not much around, the bar never opened while we were here.

Our flight arrived late so I asked the hotel reception if we can extend our stay by 1.5 hours they only allowed half an hour free. There is no tissue box in the room no free water to make a drink or use to brush your teeth. I will not stay at this hotel again!

Buffet breakfast was average at best. Metro is close by though to get downtown. We were on the 1st floor overlooking the entrance and found our room noisy at times. Hotel was very clean.

The only thing that saves this hotel is it's excellent staff. But the beds are the most uncomfortable i have ever slept in. They split apart down the middle and slide around the room. No joke, my toddler was pushing them around. Air conditioning was also broken. And the shower went from scalding hot to freezing cold. It was seriously awful. It was always easy to get a taxi to get around. And like i said the staff was great, they just need to invest in some new beds and some repairs. The property just is in huge need of some maintainence. Would not stay here again.

2nd stay at Alimara

Overall hotel was good. 99% of the staff was very helpful and friendly. However there was a girl with glasses at the front desk who wasn't rude but just wasn't a very nice person. She should not be working in customer service. She seemed to hate her job and seemed irritated at every request. She also did not seem to like kids. She could use some customer service training or find another job.

It was further away then it seemed. Nothing really near the hotel other than metro station.

A comfortable stay in a very nice hotel

Very comfortable hotel in the commercial sector of Sant Cugat - but an easy 15 minute drive into the centre of Sant Cugat. The room was very comfortable but a few things could have moved it from good to excellent - 1. I had a kettle in my room with 1 tea bag and no coffee 2. Parking is €15 per night 3. No bath - just shower

There is not many options for food around. Quite secluded. Although the underground train station is nearby if you have more time to spare and get around

The hotel is good with respect to rooms, cleanness, huge room and comfort. The Hotel should give a complimentary water bottle because being new to a place hotel should give 1-2 water bottles and they can include it in the room price. Here the point is taking a water bottle from the minibar is not good and that to chargeable. it is a basic need for a guest. I am quite disappointed with this.

Sleep on highway - too noisy

Windows do not close as they should. You sleep on a highway, with associated noise because of that.

Pleasant enough hotel, but had trouble sleeping. The random noises coming from the mini bar / fridge kept me awake from 2am.

It's an older hotel but updated well. Staff quite helpful and restaurant surprisingly good. If stayin in that area would stay again at this hotel.

Nice spacious room for a family of 4.

A very modern and spacious room. There was a bad smell at the entrance of the room which lingered for a while. It was quite noisy with the motorway nearby. other than that it was a pleasant stay.

I picked this hotel because it was lower priced than hotels in town with 3 stars or more. It is nicely located near the Metro but the Metro only runs until midnight on weekdays so, if you're caught partying after midnight, as I'm sure most will be, you have to wait until 0500 for Metro to open. Taxi strike in progress when I went so it was either wait or walk 1.5 hours to hotel over mountains. My room was not good as it was right above the outdoor dining area and conference rooms. Try getting some sleep during the day when there is a birthday party going on below your window. I didn't try the 15E breakfast as I could get something to eat in town for less than 10E. There is a grocery store close to the hotel but no refrigerator in room to store anything. The nearest laundry is about a 15-20 minute walk which is daunting in 96F heat with 60% humidity. There is a Metro stop near the laundry but I did not try that as it would require transfer to another line meaning there is no time saving. Also, this hotel is an Asian tour hotel so there would be busloads of tourists showing up intermittently. Room was adequate, nothing to write home about.

Pros: Close to metro station, friendly staff, restaurant looked nice. Nice blackout curtains. Cons: Location far from city center. Only half of a glass shower door so water collects on bathroom floor when you shower. Hard plastic chair and small twins beds pushed together to make a king bed.

This is a pleasant hotel, near means of transportation, in a quiet and pleasant part of Barcelona. If you are looking for a nice place that takes care of your needs and is far from the usual crowds and tourist traps, this is the place for you.

Alimara Hotel

I stay at this hotel for its closeness to the venue of an event I was attending. The staff are great and the food if you eat there is very nice. My only concern which I have encountered previously is that the windows in some rooms do not fit especially well in regards to keeping out the noise from the busy adjacent road.

Great for our need of a bed to sleep in

We had to book a room for a night because of a flight delay and missed connection. This was a smaller room but if was great for what we needed. We just needed a place to sleep. The big bed was great and they had 2 bunk beds.

Staff are very friendly and accommodating. They did allow me as well to cancel my last day without any cost.

June 2017 trip

Managed to park car under hotel in car park at €15 per night. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable but did suffer from Road noise.

We were put in a room which is directly facing the sun during afternoon and there is no air-conditioning so were sweating and had no choice but to open the windows. I understand that they are saving electricity but i hope they should consider how comfortable their customers are. For a 4 star hotel, they should have a kettle for tea and coffee just like the other 4 star hotels we've been into Barcelona.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 days. Pros- excellent location near metro. - clean - good spacious rooms and bathroom Cons - worst AC ever encountered. Not able to blow cold air. Tried changing the room still the same. Staff unfriendly n have twin bed than double bed. Moreover despite changing the room. ( Still hot air ) I guess all rooms have v low blowing power of AC. - lobby and rooms passage not air conditioned.

I like that the hotel is in a quiet street. Although it is far from the airport and other tourist spots, the metro station is right at the back of the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The buffet is quite delicious.

Amazing Hotel with great staff and good location

Hotel is very clean, with great interior design. Really friendly and nice staff. Good location, there is a metro line connecting to city center, just few stops away. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Overall, good

My wife and I stayed there for 4 nights for sightseeing Barcelona. The hotel is fine for us. But we got a few things that do not feel good 1. The double bed is not actually double, it comprises of two single beds. The bed frames are stable, if you sleep in the middle, you will be fell into the gap. 2. The internet access is limited, they give us 4GB for 4 nights to use, not unlimited data. 3. There is no kettle to use, I am not sure if this is common in Europe. But they charged me 1 Euro for a kettle of boiled water.

Easy stay

Easy stay as I needed to attend classes at the University - downside was only 1 pillow per person and air conditioner was turned off not allowing room control to work properly. That was very annoying as it forced me to open the window and it was very noisy.

Residential Area of Barcelona

I was only at the hotel overnight. It is in need of a little updating but it was overall a nice experience. If you are driving there is actually plenty of parking on the street, so you may not have to pay for self park.

It is far away from city centre but still very convenience by metro and value for money. Hotel staff are very nice and helpful.

Excellent short break hotel

Very enjoyable, hotel ideally located 2 mins walk from Mundet metro stn. Hotel in friendly neighbourhood. Cons- mattresses need replacing, rooms need complimentary tea/coffee option although hotel tea/coffee in cafe not bad and reasonably priced. Pros- metro stn 2 mins away , then onto rambla in 15 mins.

Ideal for a Barcelona city break

The hotel is conviently close to the Metro station that will get you in to downtown Barcelona within 15 minutes. Simple and smartly designed. We'll run and friendy staff, quiet rooms with excellent showers! The room was clean and spacious.

Excellently located Hotel in Barcelona

We booked into the Alimara for a couple of nights having driven down through France. Wanted somewhere to stay with it's own or nearby parking and this was perfect. 15 Euros per night but the car park is under the hotel and secure and that is a big bonus in Barcelona. It's location is also about two mins walk from The Mundet metro station which goes straight into the city to Placa Catalunya (you can't get more central). Staff were friendly and all spoke English. The room was immaculate (3rd floor) with good air con and was cleaned each day with fresh towels if needed. OK - so there is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but you don't find that in many hotels in Spain/Catalunya. No big deal. Breakfast isn't cheap at 15 Euros but my God - what a spread! A good hearty feed and you're set up for a big day in the city until the evening. Fruit, cereals, lots of breads/brioche, tortilla, bacon etc, lashings of juices and coffee - the list goes on. For the basic price this was good value. If you have no car and don't want breakfast it's a steal. We'd go there again.

Fantastic

Can't rate this hotel enough fantastic area metro (tube) is 2 minutes walking distance from the hotel, it was clean rooms are huge compared to other European countries. There were 2 of us and our 4 year old son, we felt welcomed and very comfortable in our room also the bar staff were so helpful and spoke good English made our stay more pleasurable thanks alimara!

nice hotel

It is a nice hotel, but the wifi signal did not reach our room. we needed to roam the corridor to get a signal. Otherwise, it is a nice place, with helpful and welcoming staff. It is in the outer edges of Barcelona, but the subway station is around the corner. A benefit of this location is that you can get free parking on the street near the hotel without much trouble (or you can opt for the hotel parking which will cost you).

The Staff is very nice and they speak many languages. Spacious room and bathroom, very clean and fantastic AC! (Barcelona is hot in July-Agust). About 20 min from the airport (Taxi), about 20 min from the City center (subway). Come to Barcelona! What a City! This is a great place to stay and save some money. Everything is expensive in Barcelona.

Alimara

Alimara is a little outside the centre of Barcelona some 15 minutes on the underground but just a couple of minutes walk from Mundet station.The hotel is fine and holds a lot of business conferences, the rooms are more than adequate and overall it is an ok hotel however note on most bookings they do not supply breakfast it comes at an additional cost. Also if you want to catch up on the news/sport there are no English channels on the TV this is typical Catalan.

We unfortunately had two single beds on our honeymoon but were just thankful to have air conditioning.

Brilliant location

Close to the tube station and very well priced. Even the bar was reasonable! parking on site and plenty of free parking around too. Massive rooms and much bigger than expected bathroom. Very impressed and already looking forward to the next visit.

Comfortable and Easy

It was nice. I needed a place to crash before the beginning of a study abroad program and this hotel was a good fit. It's right next to the metro that will take you to the center of the city (Plaza Catalunya) which is extremely convenient. My only complaint would be that there wasn't a lot of food choices nearby - you had to go into town to get it or order room service. But the views were great and it was nice and quiet.

No double bed even though we booked one and when we complained we were told its a business hotel so they couldn't guarantee a double bed as limited amount and breakfast selection was very poor.

Normal hotel

Overall good hotel. Supper slow Wi-Fi available for free in the lobby only. If you need to print boarding pass you will pay 2.50 euro for 30 minutes use of computer. Only one pc available in the bar. Printer didn't work, so I've sent email to receptionist to print boarding pass.

Absolutely like this hotel. Close to subway and nice bed room. There is supermarket close by. The only thing we don't like it in the hotel on our last night we have to move our car outside due to the maintenance. Other than that I like this hotel there is a free parking inside the hotel and it safe.

Excellent hotel but a little far. However, green line metro station is within a block of hotel and can easily get to La Rambla and the beach (about 10 metro stops)
