Great location. Good food and transportation close by. Good AC.
Super cute interior. Balconies in room and patios accessible to guests. Front desk was super friendly and helpful.
Everything was great, close to the train station
Fridge
Good place
The hotel is good and people really friendly... closed to train station and food
Walls dirty, wood plank in floor kept coming out, bed was lopsided, felt like I was going to fall off. Floors very slippery. Slid multiple times. Walls and door very thin, heard every person coming in all night. There is no elevator. Reception closes and there is no help after. Left at 8am reception still closed had to leave the key with a worker in the breakfast room. Is very close to the train terminal which is a plus
The air conditioning worked great and it was hot outside!
Properly is very tired looking and rooms offer the minimum comfort. No refrigerator and no ice available. Staff is friendly but because the motel is so small there are very few people to assist you.
Was a nice clean place Staff really good
Triste esperienza
Excellent little hotel for single travelers.
This was a great and convenient place to stay. The main thing that stuck out was the incredible customer service I received at the front desk They provided me with information on area activities, actually showed me to the room, hotel amenities, restaurant, and continually provided great service each time I entered or exited the hotel. The few negative issues were the bed, as I had to take ibuprofen the next morning as I could feel the metal of the mattress springs on my back the next morning. There are no elevators in the building and there is no light at the minibar located outside, so it makes it difficult to write items taken. Other than that, if I was to travel back to Rome for a day or two, by myself, I would recommend this hotel for that type of occasion especially if you need to be close to the train station, it was a 5 min walk there.
Location and clean room
Great location clean room easy walking to most attraction great price
Great location and easy access to public transport and tourist sites. Friendly staff and very welcoming.
Hotel location was great, room was clean and modern which we liked. Only dissatisfaction was charge of 5 euros for A/C which i was expecting to be included in the cost of the room and additional charge for breakfast even though i requested breakfast when searching for hotels in Rome. Felt like hotel was not honest about their amenities. Won't be going back again.
Hotels.com should not carry the description
The hotel location was good. However, other things were tricky! For example free breakfast means a cup of coffee and a croissant. If you want just a regular breakfast, you need to tell them ahead and pay extra though the reservation includes free breakfast. Hotel description says air conditioned. In real life you got to pay extra for each half day separate. If you use it during the day and night, you pay for two sessions! Never had this kind of experience.
Value pick, good location
If you’re looking for a budget pick with easy access to Termini station, hotel Alexis is solid. From here, it took less than 5 minutes to get to the station. The Galleria Borghese was less than 20 minutes. The hotel is not terribly modern - you have to pay extra for air conditioning and the doors still operate with keys!?! But everything was clean and functional. Overall vibe was that of a neighborhood family restaurant - the decor was eclectic and dated. The included breakfast is the same grocery-store level croissant every day, with a range of fillings (jelly or Nutella). Quiet level seemed average - the keyed doors and outside street were sometimes loud, but not terrible. Definitely not hotel rooms we were delighted to get back to, but perfectly serviceable as a launch pad for Rome exploration.
Family lodging in Italy
The hotel is in fair condition at best with quite uncomfortable beds. They charge extra for air conditioning although the Hotels.com website states it had air conditioning .Theyhad no answer why they don’t charge extra for tv as they do for AC but advertise it is available (or state AC extra on the Hotels.com website). They breakfast is literally a croissant and poor coffee. The room is tight and a bit dingy. They are a lower price than others in the Hotels.com website in the area.I travelled with my wife to weeks in September in north Italy and just finished two weeks of travelling with my wife and children in south Italy. Just one person‘s opinion but Italy is fantastic . ROMEis a different type of city within Italy with the exception of perhaps Milan. The sites in Rome are unavoidable to miss. The merchants, many restaurants and hotels will try to nickel and dime you for every penny you have whenever they can. The service in the city is quite mercenary.
Hotel Alexis, Rome Italy
I recommend this hotel: It is clean, reasonably priced and centrally located. I have been coming here for many years and >I am always satisfied.
Convenient and clean, great shower
Very close 4 min walk with bags from train station. Super convenient, 24 HR checkin, clean. Perfect for what we needed. Great customer service and help even late at night when checking in. Recommend highly
Safe, clean, centrally located near Roma Termini.
I have been a regular guest at this Hotel for many years, starting when it was named Planet 29 after the address 29 Via Gaeta. The staff of Hotel Alexis is professional and responsive. For a clean, safe and economical stay, I recommend Hotel Alexis for singles, couples and families.
Satisfied!
Very close to the train station, excellent & friendly staff, great restaurant right across the street..Excellent smoking plaza with a mini-bar on the honour system for payment!
Not up to expectation
We were disappointed in Hotel Alexis. Our room was 4 or 5 floors up with no elevator. The breakfast was a roll and coffee with the option of paying 2 euros more per person for a larger breakfast. The shower alternated between hot and cold; in three or four days we didn't figure out how to have a steady temperature. Housekeeping was minimal; papers were not picked up from the floor, and one day clothes that had been on one of the chairs when we left for the day was dumped on the floor where the chair had been. The shared bathroom was reasonably clean, but the floor was often wet, probably from the shower, I hope. The hotel claimed to have free Wi-Fi, but it only worked in the lobby and on the first floor. To get to the hotel, we had to go down a dim street that smelled like urine. The restaurant outside our window had extremely loud patrons until after midnight on the nights that it was open. The hotel was located near the train station (about 7-10 minute walk), and they did hold our bags for us after check out time, which we appreciated. Overall, I would have felt better about it if it had been advertised differently (not claimed free breakfast, Wi-Fi, etc). I plan to look into other options the next time I go to Rome.
Great sense of space in 2 bed apartment
The apartment was located on the 4th floor - beware there are no lifts. However, we had two large bedrooms, one that could easily sleep 4, and one that could sleep 2, and a bathroom. Located 5 mins from Roma Termini, we got "free WIFI", but unfortunately, we had issues when we were in our rooms. It turns out the hotel was having problems with Apple devices. Worked OK in the rest of the hotel, so I suspect it is a range issue. Breakfast consisted on croissants and tea/coffee etc, or you could top up by paying extras for a different breakfast (e.g. omelette). Our rooms had air conditioning, but this was a chargeable extra. However, we didn't need it as both rooms had ceiling fans which was enough. Overall, really liked this hotel, but mainly because of the space in the apartment. Note, although it is booked as a two bedroom apartment, there is no kitchen.
Great Location Hotel
Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel. I knew that I was not staying in a 4- or 5-star hotel and, therefore, did not expect those types of accommodations. You do have to pay a small fee if you want air conditioning, but it was not much. The key to my safe did not work in my particular but I made due with other safety measures. I was well pleased with the Hotel Alexis and would definitely stay there again. The employees who manned the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful. The location made it all worthwhile. It is close to the train station, the metro station, many local markets, internet cafes, and a bus shuttle that will take you to the airport. Of course, the hotel was within walking distance of many tourist sites if you prefered to walk. I would recommend it.
Convenient location at affordable price.
Ideal location for train station and within walking distance of several key tourist attractions, staff are friendly and helpful. Basic breakfast of coffee and croissant included in room rate which for an extra 2 euros per person can be upgraded to include eggs, cereals etc. Rooms are a decent size but the decor is 'authentic', for the price you really can't grumble.
Great location for transportation
The hotel is walking distance from Termini (the main rail station and a subway hub) making it easier to get around to all of the sights. The staff was great and gave us a map pointing out all of the must see locations to acquaint us with the city. The breakfast was simple but the cappuccino was delicious. The room itself was pretty no frills and worked as a good crash pad after a full day of sightseeing.
GREAT SERVICE
Hotel very clean, great location, staff went above the call of duty to give information and be friendly- we also got a super price because it was in February. WIFI always worked in room and I cannot find a fault at all- perhaps only reservation would be a fridge would be necessary in spring, summer and autumn and our room did not have one.
Great little hotel in Rome
Hotel Alexis is a great little place for cheap. Good location and great service fomr the staff. Can only reccomend (if you donøt mind sharing a bathroom)
Far from the train station
Satisfactory
Good value
Cheaper than any other hotel or even 6-dorm hostels! We were in a double room that shared a bathroom with a triple room but this was never an issue. The central station was only a 5-7 minute walk. Maps were provided.
the best 40 euros you will ever spend
my room was simple, but clean. but it had character. i like the windows, the floors and the interior. the staff were friendly and ever so helpful. for the price, it represents amazing value. keep up the good work.
Great deal, felt taken care of
Charming, no-frills hotel. I ended up with a giant room, everything clean and comfortable. Wish I had thought to close the windows on my first night - some street noise. Don't count on the breakfast being a lot, just croissant and coffee. Very happy with the service - my departing flight was very early in the morning, so the desk attendant personally stayed up til 3:30am to make sure I had my taxi.
Great hotel, friendly staff, very close to Termini
Great hotel, friendly staff, very close to Termini station
Charming? Well, close enough with a few exceptions
The Alexis definitely falls in the "boutique hotel" category, but the cost and location were great! Located on a quiet side street just a 5 minute walk from Termini Station, it feels safe and there's a great bistro across the street. Free wif-fi was a bonus! The hotel itself is an old apartment building converted to a hotel. There's no lift, so be prepared for climbing stairs with your bags. We had a large family room which was clean and comfortable, but the kitchen had no cutlery, dish-towels, detergent, kettle, etc. That was probably the biggest disappointment. The staff was wonderful and Lyn helped my wife lug her suitcase up the stairs. Overall, the price vs. location is a bargain and we would stay again. If you're looking for 4-star digs you should look elsewhere.
Perfect for my 1st trip to Roma, Italia
was perfect for my 9 night stay if your going solo, i didnt ask for much just a room to rest my head at night. had everything i needed, heater/ac, nice bed, tv, wifi, clean room, own shower and bathroom and a small closet to keep my clothes. also had a room safe to to hold important documents. staff was very friendly and helpful if you needed help getting to or finding about good places to shop and eat. once you stepped outside you were in walking distance for many things, a cafe bar, gelato bar, wine bar, mom and pop shops and restaurants, grocery stores, train station and subway. also walking distance for many of Romas attractions. for half of my stay i walked and took the subway. very easy to find your way in Romas big city. everyday they had housekeeping come clean your room, with my stay included free continental breakfast. check in and out was very easy. my only down fall would be that you could sometimes hear your neighbors in the next room if they were very loud, but it didnt really bother me. i would definitely come back here and stay!!
Excellent service and location
Pros:Lyn and Corinne (and all staff) were able to help me with directions, transportation, laundromat, and other things. Price was very right. Hotel clean. Breakfast good. Location by termini station is ideal. Cons: No elevator, breakfast from 8:30 to 10:00 and I wanted to get started earlier. Overall was exactly what I was looking for. Saved some cash and got a good night's sleep.
Clean, Friendly Staff, Good Price! :-)
We wanted a cheap Hotel so this was perfect for us. We only slept there. Our 3rd floor room was clean. No elevator, but a lot of places do not have one so be ready to walk. Our shared bathroom across the hall was clean. We took a taxi or walked so the location was fine. The taxi service is reliable and the cost is fair. We felt safe day and night everywhere we walked and in our hotel too. Italy is great and make sure to see Venice as well as Rome. We took the speed train to Venice and it was worth it.
Ok Hotel...
We had to book this hotel last minute (the day before arrival!), and this was one of the only decent ones near termini that was vacant. It is a very short walk away from termini, which was nice. The room was decent, and the staff were helpful. There is no elevator, thankfully we were only on the second floor. They charge for everything though.. wifi, breakfast, air conditioning, ect... I liked that they had free lugage storage. Overall, it was decent for us (two young students on a budget), especially considering the last minute booking during summer. I don't think i would stay there again.
Good Value
For a two star hotel, I was very impressed. Very clean rooms with tv. The location is great for quick access to the main station. Great if your on a budget - you could do alot worse. Never tried breakfast.
Clean and cheap in Rome, but bedbugs
My criteria for the hotel were for it to be inexpensive and near the train station, since I was just using it to spend the night between flying into Rome at 7:30 p.m. and catching the train to Naples at 10:00 the next morning. The taxi driver had a hard time finding it. It was a 3-block straight shot to the train station on a level street, so very easy to roll my luggage. There are cheap eats nearby and a store where I bought a travel alarm. The young man at the front desk was friendly and helpful and spoke English. The room, a small single with attached bath, was adequate. Unfortunately, I found a bed bug clinging to my sleep sack the next morning. Luckily, it was on the outside and did not seem to have bitten me. Whether you should use the hotel depends on how much you value cheapness and how wary of bedbugs you are.
camera minuscola e molto molto sporca. personale gentile e disponibile
Nice staff and location. Everything else is really bad.
Men frukosten suger, mycket dålig.
Voltaria a ficar nele numa proxima vez.
Durchschnittshotel in Stadtmitte

Breakfast was great
