Tuan was amazing and the rest of the staff!
Excellent service.
Cozy & beautiful
The rooms were nice clean and cozy. The hotel was beautiful. I liked the bar. They have valet parking... but very expensive, $50. But almost all of the hotels in SF charge that price for valet anyways.
Good location close to street car and some bar and restaurants
Amazing stay
Staff and hotel was amazing
When Expedia price says one thing, expect to pay about $200 more on top of the Expedia Price for Parking, then Taxes for Parking, City, Occupancy, and a “Destination” Fee. The hotel tries to make it up to you by saying that $30 can be credited for the bar or restaurant. Beautifully decorated hotel though. If you’re a Marriott Bonvoy member, book with points, instead of getting charged an arm and a leg for less than a 24 hour stay. The bathroom needed work with dusting and cleaning the tissue box cover. We had double paned windows, but the entire night long there’s an annoying beeping noise that my ear plugs were not able to block out the noise. Luckily, there were extra feather down pillows that can be placed over our heads to drown out the beeping from outside. I get it though… it’s a city, so there will be noises. They have complimentary champagne all day and night which was a nice touch. Staff was great and very friendly. Always smiling, except for one girl that seemed to be a manager maybe upon checkout. We felt very safe walking around the hotel to a sushi restaurant nearby. Overall, I would stay again, but not book through a third party website. Lovely hotel.
The hotel and staff were great. Service fantastic. The SF homeless situation is rough though. Be prepared for that.
Ask the front desk to clarify the use of $30 dollars daily…
The property was great. Lots of things to do in the area, and the hotel is very clean. My only problem was that you have to request ice buckets, and you cannot store anything in the fridge. The mini fridge that you can place items it has to be requested at the front desk. Coffee makers too. Inconvenient, but it comes to you with an hour.
Hotel great…area bad
Loved the hotel. The tenderloin area is awful. I probably would not stay there again for that reason.
Front desk was very pleasant
Excellent service, safe, quiet & very nicr'
Great Stay!!
Great stay!
Great, spacious, clean room. Friendly staff. Nice bar/restaurant. Parking nearby.
great clean, quiet stay.
I will love to stay again.
staff super accommodating up to & including the general manager. price because of salesforce was outrageous homeless being so close was an issue
Lovely hotel, old and remodeled, could use a few more updates. Friendly staff. Very loud AC unit in our room. Overall, a pleasant stay.
Loved the hotel!
The hotel is located near a less desirable area of San Francisco downtown, which felt unsafe and unsanitary while getting there. For the price I paid, I should have opted for a hotel a few streets away for a better experience. I didn’t feel comfortable walking around the area to explore. While this isn’t necessarily the hotel’s fault, it would have been helpful if they had recommended alternate routes to reach the hotel safely. The reception staff did the bare minimum—handed over the keys and that was it. No smiles, no greetings, no warmth. It felt like they were just doing their job for the paycheck. I requested a non-slip mat for the bathtub three times since the tubs were slippery, and I had elderly guests with me. Each time, I was told it would arrive shortly, but nothing ever came. I hate having to confront people, so eventually, I just gave up. I also needed a refrigerator for medication. I checked in late and was told I’d get one in the morning. When I called the next day, the receptionist said they don’t provide refrigerators. Again, I didn’t want to push the issue, so I let it go. Oddly enough, when I returned to the room, there was a refrigerator with my medications inside. The only people who truly went above and beyond was the cleaning staff. The room was kept spotless, serviced daily, and they even moved the medications to a second fridge without me asking. They were the highlight of the stay. The experience could have been much better. I wouldn’t stay here.
Parking sucks $70 a night no microwave no fridge a waste of money do not stay here
Staff at Adagio never disappoint and the hotel rooms are quiet and clean! Have stayed here twice and plan on returning!
Best dog friendly hotel
Chris at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. We arrived with a car and a dog, he set up our valet parking and gave our dog some snacks.
Love the room and their staff but Parking fee is so expensive. Not included in the hotel stay.
It was amazing. I asked for an espresso martini, but they didn’t have it, but they made something even better than an espresso martini, which was amazing. Thank you for the bartender for providing that and made my night. They also received like a queen with champagne and water bottles, so it was a very delightful experience to say the least
Awesome staff!
Not the safest area but hotel felt safe and comfortable
This property was beautiful and full of charm. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely welcoming and kind. Area around the property is the only area I would score low and that is no fault of the property. SFO is dealing with major addiction issues making the surrounding area slightly unsafe. I would still absolutely recommend this property!
We stayed in a room with a King bed and a sofa bed and it was perfect for our family of four. The rooms are quite large considering how old the building is. The hotel is full of character, rooms have been renovated beautifully, and the staff are great. Although the area does have a pretty large homeless population, I would stay here again because the hotel is great, close to everything, and if you walk 2-3 blocks down the road you're in the really nice area of Union Square.
The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very welcoming! Tuan at the front desk area was very personable and we had a nice conversation with him!
Nice staff and gym
Hidden fees added upon checkout
This hotel was absolutely beautiful and was an amazing stay. The only reason I am giving this 1 star is due to the fact that I was charged an additional $100 in fees that I was not aware of before booking. Almost $300 for 1 night is absolutely outrageous when I was under the assumption that my stay was $170.
This hotel offered a clean comfortable room. The view was okay. However there was no parking provided. An addition $69 fee would be added for parking. We ended up paying $50 in a nearby parking lot. The room has not smart tv so we couldn’t watch Netflix & there was no small refrigerator.
This is my go-to place every time we travel to SF which sometimes is weekly for work.
Actual hotel is nice, but not the area around it.
The hotel was nice and comfortable and the service great. My two complains would be how much they charge for parking. They charge $69 plus 25% of Taxes. Not sure if this is the normal for a hotel in SF but to me it seems a lot. I ended up parking next to the hotel for a flat rate of $50 per day with no issues. Also the streets around the area are full of homeless so I don’t recommend walking around late at night.
HVAC not working properly in entire property and they don't tell u this prior to check-in.
The hotel general manager and staff checked in with us multiple times during our stay. We enjoyed the friendly service.
Lovely property and staff.
Loved this hotel, very clean and beautiful. The staff was really friendly and helpful.
I appreciated the safety/security measures.
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room, with in walking distance from Union Square.
The stay was wonderful. It's close to everything. They also have free champagne when you check-in.
So clean! So quiet! Great location! A great experience and honestly so clean I felt like I was the first one to ever use the shower! Amazing staff I have a feeling I’ll be back ❤️
Staff was wonderful specially Asly and Kinga, however Leaders in San Francisco are failing big time. Drug abusers and crime has taking over this beautiful place.
This was a great hotel service was exceptional I will stay here again
I loved everything about this hotel from the staff, to the food and the spacious room! Dinner was fantastic and breakfast was also an added bonus.
Had a great stay, the whole staff was very sweet and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay
Its a pleasure staying at the Adagio. So good I had to stay twice to enjoy the highlights: a great bar friendly staff quiet clean rooms in the heart of San Francisco. Thank you Hotel Adagio, will be back! -kuando
Not for the price!
Valet was $69- not mentioned when purchasing. The hotel/room was clean, spacious, and nice. The surrounding area is something to consider if you have children- not very safe
Definitely on my list for a repeat stay!
This is a lovely hotel that is well-situated for shows at the Warfield or going to Oracle Park. The room was beautiful. The bed was too firm for me but my husband slept fine. Staff is super-friendly and helpful. They charge you $25 destination fee but it you take full advantage of the perks they offer, you easily come out ahead (e.g. drink/food credit at the bar/restaurant, two complimentary cable car tickets ($18) that you can use any time, etc. The complimentary water and champagne is a nice touch! They charge $69 for parking. Right next door to the hotel is a garage that charges $50 and is more secure.
The property was great. The neighborhood is bustling with a lot of people out even late at night (a couple of shady folks though) but once you stepped inside the hotel, it seemed like another world away. The staff was incredible and the food was great in the restaurant too
Awesome stay!!! Fabio and staff made are stay one to remember! Excellent service!!. Definitely be staying here on our next stay in the city.
Great place, excellent service & food. Everything was great; I just didn’t care for the homeless people hanging around the valet parking lot.
My go to hotel when visiting San Francisco for work. On site parking, easy to get to local restaurants and business meetings in the city. The friendliness of the staff is what sets this hotel apart. Always on top of things and welcoming at all points. There is a resort fee like most hotels in San Francisco, but unlike other hotels where it is a charge for amenities you will probably not use, you can use it towards credit on food and drinks at the bar on site.
My experience here was amazing. Although I kept missing breakfast, I was able to validate a free ride on the cable car and it was an amazing experience. The location is not bad I felt safe to walk around at night but still kept my guard up. It was also very easy to order Uber too and near a lot of trendy locations such as Chinatown, maestros steakhouse, and union square.
Would stay again
Great place. Friendly and helpful staff. No fridge, but for a short stay, we made more than do.
Nice and clean hotel.
Clean room. Excellent customer service at front desk. We got a complementary champagne for my boyfriend’s birthday. At the bar, friendly staff. Parking next to the hotel not so pricey. Would recommended.
The location was within walking distance of Union Square and many bars, which was nice. It’s just such a sad and messy situation with the unhoused. The staff at the hotel was hit and miss: a couple were friendly and a few were pretty abrasive. We were given a $25 food and beverage credit but all it did was offset the “destination fee” they charged. The glass of champagne at check in was nice. Valet was $69! We parked next door for $50. The bed was comfortable. The main reason for the average review is the attitude of some of the staff. It was kind of funny how rude they were; like an SNL skit.
Worst hotel experience I had, especially for the price, got charged extra 195$ with fake charges from the fridge
Christine was so great.
I was there for business for two nights. Staff was extremely nice and helpful throughout. Christine at reception was the best, I asked for needle and thread to mend a hole in my jacket and instead of just providing me with the needle and thread, she personally took the time to temporarily mend the hole in jacket which was unexpected and above and beyond. Thank you, Christine!
Great overall. Except the Elliot’s restaurant. Expensive and service was brutal. Go eat somewhere else.
friendly staff but wifi was not dependable
Great stay in San Francisco. The property was clean, the room was large and the property had a San Francisco feel to it. The staff were wonderful, friendly and extremely helpful. The wifi in the room was down, but the staff were very attentive in trying to fix it. It could have just been the location of our room as it was at the end of the hallway.
The hotel itself was very nice- decorated well and staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately outside there were several homeless and mentally ill people. Not the hotel's fault of course but as a small female I didn't feel super comfortable walking at night. If you go one block up from the front door it is better!
42nd Birthday stay
The service was excellent, the host chris was welcoming and extremely professional. He gifted us a bottle of champagne to enjoy also. My husband 42 birthday was absolutely enjoyable here at your hotel.
Extremely loud on the floors. When room doors got close extrem. !!!
Good price. Needs a little attention.
Front desk staff was very friendly. Room was was fairy nice. Beds were quite comfortable, but pillows weren’t great. Bathroom was dated and questionably clean with visible build up and hair in corners and around taps. Cleaned it up myself with some Lysol wipes.
Excellent place and service
Perfect, the staff was amazing!!!! Excellent service from absolutely everyone here. I came for 1 night, only to go to ,y passport appointment, so I did my research and I knew what to expect about the area, but the Hotel and the staff were beyond my expectations. Every person was super nice and resourceful from the moment I put a step in. OMG and the food wow, you have to try the halibut at the bar! Cherry on top ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Awesome Hotel
This is a gem of a spot. We intend to stay here every time we come to San Francisco
Staff sevice was excellent from front desk to Bar staff and in room service we could not fault anything at all. Thank you all Adagio Staff. We will definitely stay here again.
This is property is a jewel - clean, quiet, comfortable, and stylish, and the staff is stellar. A five-star experience! The neighborhood is edgie. It was like this pre-pandemic and continues to be this way post-pandemic.
I was in town for just a few days and the price was right. The staff was very friendly. The area had some homeless roaming but I never felt unsafe. It was a great stay.
Pretty Good
First off, the hotel itself is very nice and clean. Rooms were not as big as in the pictures but they were adequate. There is no coffee maker in room but they do have free coffee downstairs. Would be more convenient in room. There is not a refrigerator in room but they have a mini bar with items you can purchase. Fridge would be nice. One thing irritating is they charge $59 for valet parking. This parking is right next door to hotel. I paid for it. Then on the other side of front door of hotel there is public parking for $30 per day. Both of these lots are less than 30 feet from the front door. Had I known this when I booked I would have used self parking for $30.00 and saved 30 bucks. San Francisco itself, and the astronomical fees that hotels charge are ridicules. We stayed to go to Giants game the next day. From now on we will probably just drive in to Giants game and leave after. Again, Hotel is ok, but parking should be the same as lot next door The homeless population is out of bounds here.
Nice little gen in San Francisco. The property and staff was great!
Staff service, excellent.
Neat hotel. The maid service never cleaned our room. They would come early while we were still in the room and then not come back. Called and told hotel we were going to be late and has no idea when we would be there due to an Amtrak incident. When we got to the hotel they reported us as a no show. The front desk guy did take care of us, though.
Beautiful house, friendly stuff!
Really nice place
Fast and easy check in. The staff was very friendly.
Terribly unclean. Our beds had dog hair all over them and towels were dirty
Exploring SF
Friendly service and very clean. Rooms were spacious and in a great location to get around the city
Property very well kept -- generally in very good condition. 2 elevators good. Both a little bit smaller than average.
Excellent stay
Excellent stay! Great check in experience. Awesome service from the front desk. Everything they said and did showed that they pay attention to details and just make you feel welcomed. Very convenient location. Definitely will stay again.
Staff extremely polite. The only complaint was I reserved a King bed for my daughter and they placed them in a double queen room.
Terrible “skid row” area with druggies around. We asked for a 7pm late check in and agreed to pay for it. Received a call shortly after regular check out fine that the hotel is booked and we have to leave.
Great Choice
Very comfortable. Excellent service.
The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff are very nice snd welcoming.
A hidden gem!
We loved the location of the hotel, and everyone there was very accomodating. We were very glad that they will store your luggage for you, too! We also liked the fact that they have 24-hour coffee/tea available! Great spot and will stay here again.
Great housekeeping team as room is kept clean all the time. Hotel is near to Union Square and can walk to most places. Very happy staying there.
The hotel was very nice and the staff were very friendly. The hotel has a nice restaurant downstairs and some nice bars across the street. The rooms were nice and updated, I would definitely stay here again.
Terrible property. In the most violent area of San Francisco! I would’ve liked to of known that before hand! Don’t ever go there!
Hotel said we did not have reservation so we ended up staying at my daughters apartment - tried calling online org to resolve confirmation of my reservation - no response
Great hotel, sketchy neighborhood
The hotel itself was outstanding. Service and cleanliness were excellent, beds were very comfortable. Neighborhood is a little sketchy, especially at night, and you need to watch out for little doggy deposits.
Didn't like that there was only one bellsman so i had to wait 30mins for help with my luggage
The hotel is BEAUTIFUL, the staff was very friendly and helpful with local information. They even offered us a complimentary mini champagne bottle upon check-in. They were kind enough to secure our bags after check-out so we could still explore the city and keep our luggage safe. The bar does a great happy hour from 4-6. There is a parking garage right next door that was $10 cheaper than the hotel lot and very safe.
Luis at the bar.! Is a master on drinks. He is a genius.. the hotel is nice. Staff at the front desk is excellent. Perfect choice!
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was so friendly and helpful, everything was very clean and it was a short walk to a lot of places that we wanted to visit. We would definitely stay there again.

Great Hotel
Hotel was 2 blocks away from the Pinecrest diner, a big plus and also close to the Cable car station. Only wish they had a mini frige/kuerig in the room. Outside was sketchy, but that's all over San Francisco. I would stay again. All of the staff was very friendly!
