Great location, perfect for a gew or more nights
We had a great vacation in Rome
Excellent hotel in very central location in Rome, tasty breakfast. Many thanks for the early checkin!
Our favorite place to stay in Rome! Excellent location in the heart of the city!! Staff is pleasant and accommodating to customers they have nice clean rooms wonderful spa you can reserve and lovely rooftop bar! Out of all the beautiful locations qe can stay this is our go to every time we are in Rome! Thank you Hotel 87
The hotel was well situated in Rome, close the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. We had a little balcony off our room that we could look out and people watch a little. It rained the night we stayed, but the rooftop bar/restaurant was nice and covered. We ate and drank in the rain on the rooftop! The hotel is very fancy looking and clean. Overall, a very nice place to stay if you want to stay in the heart of everything.
The bed was uncomfortable but the hotel is located in a great location in Rome. Would recommend short stays
Not four star
Rooms are very small, shower leaked all over the bathroom, beds were uncomfortable. Breakfast was very good both mornings.
This is the first time I take the time to put comments because it felt like a scam with the 4 star hotel. Be careful with the foot print they will send you to a room one block distance away like an old airbnb but with a price of a 4 star. That building has different offices, etc. I book two rooms I am a platinum member and even they did have room for my free up grade they did not honored and I pay extra for at least upgrade one room wich every day they were moving us. The other building was old, bad wifi, elevator many times did not work with zero amenities. If you can avoid this hotel do it is like flipping a coin you might get what you paid or you will pay a4 star hotel and you will stay in a 2 star hotel.
European but far from superior
This hotel was entirely over rated for the value vs cost. The season may have been the reason but this was not a $500+/night hotel by any sense of the imagination. The bed was only a mattress that was harder than a brick. This must be the standard for European hotels but is truly had no comfort. No where to sit, lounge or seat to work from in this “superior” room. Their breakfast was decent and pleasant most days but incredibly crowed each morning. Just a huge disappointment all around for a vacation. I should have search for better properties and read more reviews.
Really enjoyed our stay. Excellent location and friendly staff.
When we booked in the minor fine print didn’t know that we were going to be in a separate room away from the main hotel of block away. We shared the building with residence, but on the main floor. The staff was rude and despite us, indicating we had two young children and felt unsafe with no concierge or lobby, and on our own. There are so many nicer hotels around the area. This place does not deserve four stars at all.
The lobby is way too small, pool is for 4 people and only for 45 minutes a day! Other than this it was great
Great hotel in fantastic location!
Nice location
Location is great!!
The location is great, check in was smooth. Overall you feel insecure cause the way you enter is thru a restaurant that is open to everybody. So anyone can enter the hotel without no one notice. The photos do not correspond to the establishment, especially the ones in the pool, the gym, the sauna. Besides that, I also had a bad experience in which, while during check out, I placed my bags in a corner for a couple of minutes and got stolen. I asked for help at the lobby and they were not empathic, they told me that the city is like that and to send an email until Monday. This happened on a Friday morning. Since the first moment I asked for the security footage and they told me that indeed it was a pocket picker who grabbed it. But I have an insurance that would reimburse the stolen items if I have the security tapes, and they would not send me the videos. This is suspicious and makes me think that the staff is not willing to do so for a particular reason.
A suggestion that I can make controlling the hot water; it is either too hot or too cold. I had a hard time regulating the temperature.
We arrived at night and then were taken to a building across the street- an aprtment building with one floor for some of the guests. We would have appreciated being told ahead of that some of the rooms were not in the same building. The room had a shower that was somewhat open to the bedroom. The room was decent and clean and the buidling was safe, but there could have been better communication regarding the room situation.
Staff was super, room was very comfortable and spacious and excellent location
Nice!
Hotel was very nice clean and pretty quite for being close to city Center. We enjoyed the Trevi Fountain many times during our 3 day stay. The only thing that wasn’t pleasant was the air conditioning blowing in your face all night so when we shut it off the stink from the washroom/sewer was present.
No parking near The room small
The bathroom had a bad case of mold.
Great location and the large room was comfortable. Perfect balance between old world charm and modernity.
this location is ideal for walking but when i checked in they said my kids would not be charged city tax, later we got to our room WITH no AIR CONDITIONING and had to sleep an entire night until it could be fixed the next day. i figured they would atleast comp a bottle of water due to the inconvenience but i was wrong not only did they charge the city tax for my child made me pay cash he gave my change in all 50 cent euros. what a prick stay away from this property.
Very nice place with a wonderful view and steps away from hot hot hot Rome best streets
Excellent location
Lovely Hotel, perfect location and lovely interiors!
Good location
The property is lovely. My partner and I were located in a seperate building. The Wifi didn't work, dark setting and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. When leaving the property and waiting for our car to arrive. We had a lot of luggage on us. We were told to move off the property by an employee. He was extremely rude and unhelpful.
Good area
Amazing staff, breakfast, intimate and romantic! We loved the spa and the rooftop!
Lovely and clean hotel with helpful staff, the rooftop bar is excellent! Only downer was that the AC in the room wasn’t working.
I was unaware at the time of booking that my hotel room would be located in a separate building. After checking in, we were advised to go back outside, walk down the street, enter a dark green door, navigate another hallway, take an elevator past people's condos, and finally arrive at the other part of the hotel. The front door was difficult to find, and the hallway leading to my room was very dark, unlit, and seemed like something straight out of a horror movie. Eventually, I made it to the room, which was overall very nice. The bed was extremely hard, and there was a bit of noise from the hall, but overall, it was nice.
Staff were very helpful and courteous. The hotel itself was very clean and welcoming, and close to amenities. The only downside was the small spa wasn’t private and had to share with strangers.
Excellent location to walk to most sights
Great location. Not too far from the train station. Walkable distance to many great historical landmarks! Room was clean!

We love it!!!
Perfect hotel to stay at everything was clean and tidy staff very friendly and breakfast is very good
2 star hotel
Hotel was very poorly maintained. Shower drain, TV, WIFI, hair dryer, and phone all did not work. A shower rack fell off the wall. Gym equipment was broken and they even charged $2 if you wanted water in the gym. For the price and 4 stars its very misleading. Only positive was the location and staff were friendly.
It take 2 attempt to get our complimentary wine as a VIP perk 🙁 that suppose to be in the room at check in .
Don't have wifi for the all 6 nights stay, and the hotel refused to change the room.
It’s a good place to stay . Very safe and convenient
This was a cute, clean and convenient hotel.
No power or water in a 4-star hotel?!
Considering in the description it said the hotel was 'one tower/building' and rooms were across 5 floors, we didn't expect to be taken all the way down the street to another building which has none of the amenities we thought we were paying for. The first morning, the power and water went off at 9am. Reception staff were rude and unhelpful and it turns out that the sign in Italian on the front door actually said this was planned work and it wouldn't be restored until 4pm. We are appalled that the hotel would take our money knowing that we would have no power or water for a day and now are refusing to refund us for that night. The power and water didn't actually come back on until 8pm either so we had to use our phone torches, as it was pitch black in our room and down the 5 flights of stairs. The staff did nothing to help or reassure us and we never even got an apology. The next day the water was freezing cold. The 'annex' building also felt unsafe, there was no visible fire exit and no smoke alarm in our room. As a result, some guests were obviously smoking in their rooms as we had a strong smell of smoke in our room. During the power outage, the door to the street and the hotel lobby door were left propped open for periods of time so anyone could walk straight to our hotel door. How this hotel has 4 stars, I have no idea and I can't believe how much money we paid to have the experience we did. We'd have been better off staying in a youth hostel.
Great location Bar and restaurant breakfast staff were amazing Some of the reception staff were great but others maybe to indifferent to guest needs in general Maybe a concierge style info available at the reception list with the opera,& music shows in town, taxi and limo information, list of Michelin star restaurants in Rome, list of best restaurants to dine in Overall a good place !
Lack of communication
Worst hotel ever!
My recent experience at Hotel 87 in Rome was nothing short of a nightmare. This has to be the worst hotel on the planet. The air conditioning was non-functional, making our stay extremely uncomfortable. The room was not just dirty, but also incredibly small, with a bathroom that had a perpetually clogged shower drain. Housekeeping was terrible, and the service left a lot to be desired. The corridors were dark and gloomy, adding to the unpleasant atmosphere. The room was so tiny that it felt like a closet, hardly enough space for two people. The Wi-Fi was painfully slow, and despite being on the fifth floor, we were bothered by incessant noise from outside. To top it off, it became evident that the bed linens had not been changed throughout our entire stay. This is an appalling oversight for any hotel. I strongly discourage anyone from subjecting themselves to the misery of staying at Hotel 87 in Rome.
Don't walk, RUN from this property. We rented a room on expedia for our trip to Rome. When we arrived we were not even in the main hotel, but in an old building down the street. The morning after our check in we were locked out of this building due to scheduled maintenance & had no power all day. The hotel staff was absolutely horrible to us. We finally got a new room after about 8 hrs of fighting with them. I would never recommend anyone traveling abroad to pick this hotel.
We stayed in the Annex which is a separate building. Very nice room. Only real issues were the breakfast was not very good and we could not get the room very cool.
It’s a great place to stay in Rome …
The worth customer service, rude and un professional.. the receptionist could not fix or resolve any problems we had Pilates style, washing their hands
Lack of communication
Excellent location
This property has been one of the worse places I’ve stayed in. I don’t know how they receive a 4 star rating. My room smelled like sewer, wifi worked everywhere except in my room and they did nothing to accommodate me (wrong advertisement of having wifi); the mattress felt like sleeping over wood and springs (so bad my body ached for days from such bad sleep). Very disappointed with this stay. Made my Rome trip/ experience not the best one. I would give them 1 star just for the aesthetics, not efficiency and functionality!
Perfecto
Hotel 87 is a solid option. Reasonable price, good location (we walked to all the main attractions to and from hotel) clean and safe. Staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast that was included was above average.
Great
This hotel did not live up to the description. Good thing is that it is in a great location, very walkable to things. The negatives are that for the price paid it was only.marginal. the rooms are very small, and the shower is tiny. Toiletries are not replenished daily. I found the staff unfriendly. I had family stay at a hotel a few doors away for a fraction of the price and it was very nice
Location is brilliant
Location 10/10 absolutely brilliant for seeing all the sites and being near some lovely areas. Rooms were pleasant, however the drainage wasn’t great and we had a smashed window in our room looking out onto the courtyard. Not quite a 4 star hotel, but very good 3 star. I would stay again for the location alone.
I cannot express enough how disappointed I was with this property and staff. There was one good staff person the rest could have cared less about their “guests” I’ve stayed at better youth hostels. Too many errors too mention…trust me over rated and be careful with security.
Very central but not quiet Breakfast ok but can get better round the corner Room ok clean but could be better
Location is nice. Hotel staff treats you like they are doing you a favor. I arrived to a room with NO AC and no one bothered to let us know, until we complained and they told us we wont be able to get a room with AC until the next day? Mind you, my stay was only 3 days. Pointless to unpack and repack. Mini fridge was not cooling, and the staff could careless. The prices doesn’t match the service.
Great property in an even better location. Walking distance from Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps. Taxi rank a short walk away. Great friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing location. Was upgraded to a suite for our last night in Rome. Beautiful room. Beautiful property. Amazing rooftop bar lounge.
The staff is amazing! Super helpful and friendly. The location is perfect, room is little but in general I highly recommend! I think the standard of service is 5 stars .
Excellent
The hotel staff provides all the Gold perks from Expedia. The hotel was so conveniently located within minutes walk to Fontana de Trevi, Piazza Spagna, and Pantheon. The staff was incredibly friendly, and Alberto the bartender made our sunsets so mellow and marvelous with his drinks. The Spa felt incredibly convenient at the end of the days of walking and standing up. A ver cool perk to have during our stay. Overall and incredible stay, would definitely stay here again.
Decent hotel, but lack of attention to complaints
The room was nice and the hotel was close to everything. The breakfast was not good. I stayed at the hotel for five nights. When I arrived the safety locker was not working, and one of the doors of the shower was damaged. I reminded the receptionist each day that they needed to be fixed. They were never fixed. I honestly doubt this hotel will still exist in a few years, unelss they change they deal with complaints and they fix whatever breaks.
Hotel 87 is in a great location. It is within walking distance for many sights. The bus stop in in front and the subway a few blocks down. The staff provided request information, but I felt as if I was a bother to them. I guess the long tourist season and hot weather have gotten to them. As it stated in other reviews, the air conditioning was an issue. It was obviously set by the hotel at a certain temperature. But instead of just telling me that, they kept telling me that it would be better shortly. The breakfast was typical for breakfasts and they kept it well stocked. This hotel is not a bad option. It is clean and close to transportation, restaurants and shopping.
This property was awesome. You go up a very old elevator and thinking omg what have we booked. However once you get off the elevator the place is amazing. Marble everywhere and very clean and modern. So don’t let the elevator scare you. Also the staff were very good and spoke English as well. Easy and close to everything.
This was my first time in Rome and won’t be the last either in the city or this hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was a perfect size, very clean and the air con was a godsend in the hot Italian summer. The hotel is a fantastic location, near the train station and so close to all the shops and trevi fountain not to mention a lovely little ice cream shop right next door. Really couldn’t fault this hotel in any way
Lovely hotel. Our second stay. A bit disappointing that we were housed away from 87 at another location - felt disconnected from hotel.
Would recommend it is close to the metro to get around easy. Great restaurants around. Overall great place to stay.
The staff was very helpful and welcoming. Only complaint is the A/C did not work in our room and the hottest day we were there reached 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
An excellent hotel. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. The room with spacious and the washroom was quite good. The location was amazing period a very short walk to the Trevi Fountain and an entire market area.
We payed for the hotel and they made us walk from the hotel building to an annex building which was not nice, bad smell, broken mirror, the room was not completely clean. Terrible attention.
2 men enter on my mother after the shower!
While I was out on a walk, my mum stayed back in the room to rest for a bit. She is a Muslim woman who is married and quite conservative. While in just a kimono as she had just taken a shower, 2 men walked in our room! It must’ve been a scheduling error as she said it was one person with their bags and another staff member it seemed like. This is absolutely unbelievable, especially as we were put in an annex building a street away from the hotel. Of course I went to report it at the reception and they didn’t even seem phased. Is this a common occurrence or do they not care? I brought my mum here for her birthday and she was left traumatised. She said she hid in the closet until I came back and honestly I don’t blame her. We’re 2 black women in a foreign country that historically hasn’t been the kindest to people like us. In 2023, women still don’t feel safe in some places, I guess I can add hotel room to that list. I had such high hopes for this place but I’m severely disappointed.
Great little hotel in the midst of the action!
Hi there… we had a wonder stay at Hotel 87 in Rome. Simone who managed the front desk was extremely helpful with any services we needed including directions and maps or information. Adrien who managed the spa area couldn’t have been sweeter or more accommodating. The location is perfect.. 4 minute walk to the Trevi fountain and close to Coliseum and Spanish steps … lots of great shopping in the area. Nice rooftop bar.
Great location.
Very good property amazing room enjoyed our stay and would recommend
This hotel is in a great location! Probably the best thing it’s got going for it. It’s smaller than you expect.
This hotel is marketed as a 4 stsr hotel! St best it isno more than 3 star hotel. Doesn’t have staff to help with lugages. Have to carry luggages upstairs! Dlow elevator! Very narrow hallways. Extremely small rooms and bstho. Way over priced!
The cleaning staff of my room was great. She gave us fresh towel and cleaned up our room every morning. The food staff in the morning were the best down to the cook!!! Our last day there they all came out and wished us a safe trip home. Front desk staff were ok nice. The only down fall was the air in the room it kept durning off so had to sleep with the window open. Glad it was still cool out. And glad I had Ear plugs, other than that had a great stay. It was right in the middle of everything you would want to see. I would stay the again. 👍
Great location good people
Terrible Stay!
Staff was so rude and very unhelpful. Annex building is totally different to the hotel you have to walk down the street which is does not state and is in horrible condition. Lift is in terrible condition and is constantly breaking. Lights in public toilet doesn’t work so you have to go in the dark. Just terrible. Just very disappointed especially after paying so much money,
Front desk would never answer the phone when calling. A/C wasn't available until May so had to have window open which was chilly and noisy outside.
Really good location, room was modern and clean. Some staff were really friendly and helpful, the staff on reception didn’t give good advice on what to do in the rain and struggled to answer some questions on where to what to do etc. Overall, good hotel experience and I would stay there again and it was hassle free and relaxing.
Perfect location for all activities and locations to go to.
Great value for money
Perfect location on the main street few mins from Trevi Fontana. We got the junior suite which is huge with big shower. Staff are friendly. Clean hotel. Basic breakfast. I prefer softer bed and pillows.
I loved the location- halfway between the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the room came with a free bottle of wine! The room was very cozy and clean, and it really felt like my home away from home.
Superb Stay, everything was impressive
Travelled as a family of 4. W ehad 2 adjoining rooms overlooking front of hotel. Rooms shared a small entrnace corridor so we could close outer door and keep room doors open but still private. Rooms were spacious, clean and bright. Gym/Spa small but clean and well mantained. Particular compliments to the lady who cheked us in and was particularily pleasent and helpful during our stay, can't remember her name but she deserves extra credit. Overall a wonderful stay in a centrally appointed hotel.
Excellent hotel right in the heart of Rome. Everything is walking distance or a short Metro ride. The hotel had friendly staff, excellent amenities and a quality roof top bar. Highly recommend
.
I typically do not complain but the prior reviews about front desk staff being rude were correct. The entire time, they were dry, unhelpful and abrasive. We were not able to use the spa the entire time while there, when I asked to “at least” view the spa, they acted like it was a problem. They’re lack of assistance made the stay horrible.
It was easy to see everything you wanted by train shops restaurants etc perfect
The staff was extremely rude! Do not stay here. The shower was tiny and the water temperature doesn’t regulate. If you were lucky enough to get hot water, it fluctuated from scolding hot to ice cold. The hot tub on the roof doesn’t work, and the bed was terrible.
Great location. Decent breakfast. Great shower. Gym outdated. Hard to get reservations at spa. Everything else is ok
The hotel was clean and comfort, the staff was welcoming and helpful, breakfast was excellent, the hotel is in prime location - very comfortable for walkers
The staff were so nice and helpfull. Walking distance to everywhere.
