My friend and I stayed in a private room with two single beds and a private bathroom. Our space was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the ease of checking in/out was so convenient—I wish all places just used access codes. The only thing that may detract is that many of the rooms are underground and don’t have windows, but as a couple of jet lagged Americans we actually found this to be beneficial. It is right across the street from a grocery store if you need to pick anything up, the park nearby is lovely, there’s lots of food options nearby, and the closest bus/metro station is about a block away. I loved our stay!

Rude, self-righteous customer service

Access code was not activated when I arrived shortly before 6 pm. No towels were included despite website saying they were. Instead of just resolving the issue they were dismissive and demeaning in their response. There is a reason why numerous other reviewers have given this hostel a subpar rating. I thought it would be ok saving money but it's worth it to pay a little more and book somewhere else.

This place is OK for one affordable night. No need to check in since they use codes for entry, no staff seemed present either in the evening. You will need to bring your own towels and a lock, unless you want to buy them. Lugagge room was just a single closet sized room that anyone in the hostel can access. Room mates were respectful and remained mostly quiet, however you might wake up when people enter or exit the room or use the bathroom, so bring ear plugs. I got the feeling that some people there might be homeless temporary e,g, why would you have a bike, but I could be wrong. Either way it made a bit more worried about the safety of my baggage, which was my biggest concern.

Hostel Dalagatan is located well in the heart of Stockholm and is close to most amenities you need; yet offers quiet comfort at a reasonable price. The rooms are in a converted basement of a vintage building and are efficiently done up with bunk beds and lockers. The attached toilet is maintained clean. Upper bunks May not have access to charging points. There is a kitchenette with fridge and induction heater. A coffee machine is on the house. Grocery is available opposite store (ICA). Stockholm’s excellent public transport is easily accessible and an SL Access card is strongly recommended unless you are biking around. Check in and check out are online offering possibility of late check in. The patronage seems to be good and the decorum of hostel is maintained.

Avoid Hostel Dalagatan like the plague

The bunk beds are unstable and make extremely much noise if you move - not to mention if someone else moves. The mattresses are paper-thin, so it basically feels like sleeping on the steel frame. The automatic light in the WC/shower illuminates the whole room every time someone goes for a nightly visit. To sum up: if you want to sleep at night, this is not the place to go. I have stayed at many cheap hostels, including some really excellent ones - this is NOT one of them.

Poor condition, unruly guests

This was my first time at a hostel but I expectedbetter from he photos and the rules. The private room I had was a little marked up. The other guests were making a lot of noise going into and out of rooms several dozen times and continued to make noise in the common areas after the noise curfew. I contacted the management via email and received no response.

Does the trick at a reasonable price.

Standard hostel. Location was a little bit far away from the city center, but not that bad of a walk. Common area was updated and renovated. Would stay there again.

Recommend for those on a budget - clean & friendly

I was in a room with three other people that had an en-suite bathroom. It was pleasant, cleaned everyday and the other people in the room (who were different everyday) were pleasant and friendly. There is a fridge, freezer, cooker and free tea and coffee in the kitchen, which is fantastic. The wifi only works in the main reception/kitchen area which means you won't be able to use it in your room but hey that can force you to actually talk to other people! I forgot to bring an adaptor for my phone and the receptionist kindly lent me one for the 4 days/3 nights I was there (free-of-charge). Overall I found the whole thing quite pleasant and I don't like hostels in general. Definitely recommend for those on a budget. Pro-tip - there is a supermarket across the road from the hostel where you can buy items for breakfast/lunch/etc if on a budget (although it is still in Sweden so still relatively pricey but cheaper than eating at restaurants!) Hope you have a great time!

Hostel Dalagatan is located in a quiet residential area closed to the central railway station. The hostel is very clean. We arrived around noon time and were given a room right away. The kitchen is spacious and clean. I would stay here again if I visit Stockholm again.

New and clean hostel across from supermarket

Good location and excellent value for money. Located directly across grocery store and very close to several bus stops and metro station. Large communal kitchen available for us. Washer + dryer available for use free of charge, but one wash cycle takes about 4 hours to complete.

Far beyond my expectations

Great place to stay for relatively cheap! Very nice and super clean common area with top of the line oven, stove, and refrigerator. 24 hour free coffee and tea as well vended from a very nice futuristic drinks dispenser. Plus the staff were very friendly and helpful! I booked the room expecting little of it, but when I got there, the place proved to be well beyond my expectations. I would definitely stay here again if I find myself back in Stockholm.

Tiny Room, but Grand Services and Location.

I stayed in a very small room without a bathroom, below ground. It had 2 windows that with closed blinds let in a comfortable amount of light. While clean, the white room had a lot of marks and could use painting. The bathroom was ok, but the grout also needs a refresh. The shower head could not stay up, but it was a handheld, so not too much trouble. The kitchen was great! Plenty of room to cook and rather modern. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The area is a very nice, possibly upper middle class neighborhood. Public transport was convenient and it all made up for my tiny room. I would stay there again.

Perfect for a weekend i Stockholm

Really nice place. Cheap hostel with really good quality. Rooms where nice, kitchen very clean. Excellent location, you could walk to drottninggatan in 5 min, just a minut with the tube. Really nice and caring staf.

Clean comfortable and friendly

I came to Stockholm on business and stayed for 2 nights in room 2. The whole atmosphere is very friendly and you have all the basics that you need. The room was as advertised, basically a bed in a room but a very comfy bed and the room came with towels and a dressing gown. The shower/bath room was only across the hall and was always free when I needed it, I think it was only shared by 3 rooms. The shower room was spacious and clean. The kitchen arrangement is a fantastic idea, there is a fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils and kitchen tools you may need. The coffee machine is good, quick and free! Guests can leave their food in the fridge (with name tags) and there is some basic food and condiments provided by the hotel for anyone to use for free. It was always clean and tidy when I went thorugh or stopped for a coffee.The location was in a nice area of the city, about a 10-15 minute walk from the Arlanda express. Overall I was really happy with my stay.

Nice hotel

Good for the price. Nice kitchen. Good location. We stayed one night and was happy with our stay. Checked in earlier with the code provided in the email that helped a lot.

Not worth the price

This hotel is fine for young hardy individuals. The common space is nice. But the room is cramped, beds are hard and unless you rent a towel from the front desk you are out of luck. Check the room before you book and see if it’s to your liking first.

This hostel is very nice, modern and fresh. The kitchen is clean and modern. I had a very pleasant stay.

Rökluktande rum och dåligt allrum/kök

Det här var det värsta stället jag har bott på i Sverige. Mitt rum luktade så mycket rök att mina kläder tillslut också började lukta. Luften kändes väldigt dålig på rummen (vilket inte blev bättre av lökrukten). Köket var otroligt litet, det blev trångt så fort bara 2 personer skulle laga mat samtidigt (det fanns endast 2 små och 2 stora plattor). Dessutom så var köket placerat i (!) allrummet, och på ett sådant sätt att man stod framför alla som kollade på TV. När man lagade mat var man tvungen att röra sig fram och tillbaka alldeles framför TV-skärmen, medan andra satt och kollade. Utöver detta var det mycket sällan som det fanns personal på plats, så det fanns ingen att påtala problemen till. Jag var där i 3 dagar och såg aldrig någon i receptionen, och då var jag ändå i köket varje dag mellan 8-9 på morgonen, samt en gång på eftermiddagen. Det fanns inte heller några bra hängytor. De enda sittplatserna som fanns i det allmänna utrymmet (alltså allrumet/köket) var ganska obekväma stolar. Inte en enda fåtölj eller soffa på hela stället. Kort och gott, välj ett annat ställe.

Det va en bra och trevlig vistelse. Rent överlag stort fint kök med tv . Rummet va kanske lite för litet när det va fullbelagt med tanke på oandemin. Men i stort bra.

Rummet var inte anpassat efter rådande coronapandemi. Det var 40cm mellan min säng och en annan gästs säng

Ganska precis vad en kan förvänta sig med tanke på priset, absolut helt ok för en natt! Enkelt att checka in och ut med en kod bara, träffade aldrig någon personal.

I am the only one girl in the mixed room. I know I need to live with boys in the mixed room but it is too uncomfortable that I am the only 1 girl who live with 7 men. One of the man bring his girlfriend sleep with him, which mean there are 9 peoples live in a 8-mixed room at night. There are some unknown people sleep on the floor in lobby. The lockers are too small even a hand bag cant put into it. Also all the lockers are broken that I can take my things without the lock. Bed linen are dirty. All of the above problem cannot be ask for help because the reception only open from 1000-1500.

Svårt att nå receptionen utanför några få tider för in- resp utcheckning. Starka lukter i det gemensamma köket som är dåligt utrustat. Bra att låsen är kodade om man kommer in på sena tider. Badrummet på rummet var helt okej men kalla källargolv.

Recension 4/7'19

Kylskåpets temperatur, ute i det gemensamma utrymmet, var kallt nedtill och varm i dörren högst upp.. Stark matlukt av främmande mat när folk inte använder köksfläkten. Ventilationen kunde vara bättre. Receptionen är svårnådd per telefon. Rummet var rent och ett plus för kodlås med personlig kombination (de fyra sista siffrorna i ens telefonnummer) gällde till entren, bagageförvaring och till rummet.

Förvirrad vid ankomst och personalen var helt obrydd. Tråkigt och väldigt stelt bemötande. Våra sängkläder hade BRUNA fläckar och det fanns inga glas i allrummet. Vasken var sönder så vattnet rann inte ner utan låg i flera timmar. Dessutom väldigt obehagligt att för och efternamn står helt öppet på en lista i receptionen! Hellre velat ha ett kodnamn eller iallafall ett annat alternativ så att inte alla har tillgång till att se i vilket rum jag bor på!

Centralt, billigt, men inte så rent

Vi tog ett rum med en dubbelsäng/våningssäng utan fönster. Service i receptionen var obefintlig, även om vi kom in innan 15.00 och reception var bemannad, inte alls service-minded personal. Rummet var ok i storleken, men inte så rent så man förväntar sig. Vi hade vår egen toalett/dusch som var helt ok. Det som är bra här är läge och priset, självklart. Vill man bara ha ett billigt. ställe att sova, och kunna vara ned på stan, utan att vara för petig med städningen, så är det här för dig.

Det var sjukt billigt för ett så bra läge men sängarna var sjukt obehagliga (tre bädd, våningssäng) och stökigt på rummet när vi kom dit. Toaletten var det något fel på så var svår att använda. De allmänna utrymmen var dock fina och för det mesta städat.
