Ok stay
The location was excellent!! It was nice having our own bathroom. The other people at the hostel were so loud even up to 1 am. I wish they had quiet hours. The beds weren’t very comfortable. The WiFi was really good.
wonderful location, friendly staff, housekeeping everyday. comfortable mattress and really comfy and warm quilt! has heater in room when we stayed too! the room was so nice and warm on a cold winter day. bathroom was clean. has a safe too. can't ask for more.
Great service
Good choice!
A good basic hotel near the Anton Martin Metro stop. Friendly staff!
Good budget hotel in a great location
Great location however if you are arriving by train the the walk is all uphill. The hostal is above a cannabis shop. I would suggest you take the metro from the station to Anton Martin rather than carry your luggage up hill. There were plenty of supermarkets, shops and cafes/restaurants in the area. They offered us early check in and stored our luggage upon check out. The room was clean and there was a hairdryer but no kettle in the room. The room was cleaned one morning however they did not clean it the second morning. The walls are thin and you can hear your neighbours. I tried to contact the hostel owner about the noise however the door was locked overnight and I could not find a phone number for the property.
Perfect for what I needed.

Great Location
A decent hostel with a very good location. The room is home style and looked a bit old, but clean and pleasant enough for the stay. The building entrance is slightly less noticeable.
The place was ok to good. The area was not fantastic. It was like the international quarter. But not unsafe.
It is within walking distance of the train station, the Prada and other touristy areas. It’s not your 5-star hotel, but for a “hostel” I had my own room and bathroom. No complaints.
Very clean and great location.
Worked fine for us.
This is a funky, old style European hotel with a small elevator running up the middle of the staircase. It needs updating and repair and the room is small. That being said, the location is very convenient with the metro close by and an excellent bakery next door for a morning coffee and pastry. Not for everyone, but fine for flexible intrepid travelers.
Location is excellent
friendly and clean.
Great location, clean rooms
Great location, all major attractions in walking distance. Bars, restorans, cafés in close proximity. Metro station 50 m. away. Small but clean rooms. Internet service not available in the rooms, only in common area. Polite staff, non English-speaking but they will do their best to provide information you need. Overall, worth for the money. Recommended!
Convenient and good value for money.
It is in a very good location, close to the train station, on the third floor of an old building, with a small lift, with clean rooms. Every day they clean and help if anything, they called us a taxi which helped a lot
Clean but very dated
This would be an amazing place to stay if they updated and replaced linens with holes. Otherwise, no faults.
Clean
Nice and clean
is comfortable, good location , not expensive , renewed installations.
Great location. Convenient to sights without the craziness of Sol. Also the Metro stop is practically at the doorstep. Room was small but clean, having a private bath at this price was a real plus.
Quiet hotel in the busy street.
The hotel itself is located in the busy street in the center of the city. The location is great, close to everything - the train station, museums, parks. I stayed in a very clean room. The windows faced the inner yard, so it was very quiet all night. There was no coffee maker, nor fridge in the room, the furniture was not too new, but for the price I paid, it was more than acceptable. It's OK to stay for one night. Might use it again.
Nice smallish room with balcony
Excellent location, walking distance from Atocha station and Sol, and just a few steps to metro station Anton Martin. Room not big but quite cozy has everything to meet a traveller's basic needs. My room had a small balcony to take in sunshine and views of Calle Atocha. Friendly host. It was nice for my overnight stay in Madrid.
The hotel was fine for the price but our stay was less enjoyable due to noisy construction in the neighborhood.
Everything was great..
Great location. Nice and very helpful staff Easy to find Everything was great but property kinda old..
Value For Money
Room was very comfortable and excellent value for money! Reception very helpful!
Arrived 30mins before check-in time and left luggage with owner. Returned 40mins later and my bag was open! Owner couldn't understand English when I was questioning him about it. Room itself was clean and basic but the owner/service was appalling. Spent one night and couldn't wait to get out of there. Changed accommodation for the rest of my Madrid stay.
The location is very good and close to a lot of sight seeing places. If you are on a budget and staying over for a day or two its OK. Convenience and no frills over luxury. You need to ask for more toilet paper and small piece of soap. But you get what you pay for.
It's ok but not great
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was not very comfortable. Wifi only available in common area. Lift/Elevator extremely small. Online it states rooms available as of noon but it's not the case. Because checkout is noon, the rooms are available for checkin closer to 1-2pm. The cleaning lady was really nice and got started on our room right away but she wasn't happy about it. Wish the check in time was updated for future travelers.
A good place close of everything
The place is a condominium in a second floor and it is more like a guest house than a hostel, clearly managed by the owners who live in the same floor some doors away from the rented rooms, however, that is not a bad thing, not at all. The place is clean, close of many tourist attractions, places for eating, for buying food and specially close of the subway which is just a few meters from the condo. For an independent entrance and exit, you receive three different keys for crossing the three doors that separate you from the street. The hostel is inexpensive and you will receive what you pay, in our case, a small room with two twin beds placed together to form a queen size bed at the European style. A big closet, one table, one chair, a small TV without cable but with access to many local channels that help to put you in the Spanish mood. A clean bathroom with bidet (weird to use but better than toilet paper LOL), shower, small tub and a dryer. Our room had a balcony with a wide view of the street and a small heater that was hottest than we thought considering the size.
----- was just an okay accommodation. Good locatiom and good for the price
Good no frills accommodation
Good basic accommodation in location close to city centre and metro station. Room was everything that was needed for a short city break. Supermarket close by. Would have liked separate pillows rather than one long pillow for sharing. Kettle in the room would have also been a good addition.
Great option close to Atocha train station
This place was just what I needed for my one night stay in Madrid: very close to the Atocha train station and to Madrid center, simple buy cozy room, very clean, allowed me to check in at 1pm, which I really needed. If you need something simple, affordable and well located, this is the place.
Tiny room, other than location, best avoided. It was difficult to find space in any other hotels
Pros: Location was great and only 15 mins walk from central station. Loads of eating options available outside. Dominos was on opposite and McD was just 5 mins walk at the corner of street. Room was spacious and attached bathroom with tub (size was small though) Cons: Wifi was available but no range inside room. You have to be in the balcony to use the wifi. There was no kettle provided in the room for tea or coffee which was very sad. Single beds available in the room which were joined to make them double but splits very easily. Overall: Not bad if host improves the wifi signals and provide at least a kettle in room for making tea/coffee.
Nice Madrid hotel
The staff was very helpful and checked me in quickly. Only downside was both mornings the electricity was off when I woke up so I had to shower in the dark the first morning. The 2nd morning it was on & off a few times. I never found out why but staff was aware so maybe it's been fixed. Room was clean & basic.
Nice hostel in the city centre
In good localization and very clean...................................
close to main railway station for day trips away.
Great stay, room very clean, beds made, clean towels. Noisy street so bring ear plugs for a good nights sleep. Good cafe across the road, Pannus, for breakfast and nice deli next door for snacks.
Great location for a good price!
Cheap and great location!
Great location , not far to walk to main locations
It is value for money.
Room is ok but wifi is only in 1st floor. My daughter cannot connect as they are staying in second floor.
Great budget room in central location.
For those with a budget as priority. Clean, centrally located, lots of hot water, good wifi. Very small elevator, small room and tiny beds. Noisy on the main street. All light bulbs not installed to save money. No thermostat for heating/cooling.
It was fine.
Stayed here for three nights. It was fine. The person at reception did not speak English so communication was difficult. Also he wasn't in the office when we needed to check out at 10am, stood outside the office for 5 minutes as he woke up. Came out in his pjs. Also they only gave us two slip packages for shampoo every day, wasn't enough.
comfortable for a short stay
Close to Atocha train and el centro. Nice view out the front window. Walking distance to everything. Comfortably large. The price was fair and I would stay here again. I don't demand the nicest hotel because I spend most of time and money in the city. This is a perfect place for what we want
Solid basic room
Good stay. No issues. Friendly staff. Standard basic room. Clean.
Dusty Construction Work Within Hotel.
It had loads of dust on the staircase due to construction work within the hotel. Remote for the air conditioner did not work. Key to the room floor had an issue an we had to learn the art of using it. No lift available. The room was very small. Not sure if the tile floor was properly cleaned. It is a family run affair and the staff was not that helpful to us who were not able to speak spanish. Very close to the metro.
Review
The hostel is in good location, 10 minutes' walking away from city center and rail station. The room is very small and the window does not face the street, but the price is low also.
Great for the price
IT was a great place to stay on the budget. The location is awesome, walking distance to all the main attractions.
A deal for the price!
I was very comfortable in this small hostal up the hill from Atocha Station. I got there late but was let in promptly after I identified myself. The night I got in, I thought the stairwell was a bit grubby but in the morning I noticed this was due to substantial reconstruction of the stairway and elevator. If you go in the future, you will most likely find a bright and cheerful entry up to be bright and cheerful Hostal. Being right on Atocha there IS quite a bit of street noise.
Cozy room in a great location.
The Hotel Rivera was a delightful location for my sister and I. A cozy, clean, basic, well maintained room in an excellent location if you want to be in the center of the action of historic Madrid. Ten minutes in one direction we were at the Prado and the Reina Sofia museums and ten minutes in the other we were at the Plaza Mayor and the Puerto del Sol. The staff were friendly and kind in all of our interactions.
muy bueno
Recomendable
Close to the center
Small but clean, you get what you pay for, good enough if you are just looking for sleeping and having a shower.
Great location but fair environment
Ok, you stay there.
Hostal Rivera is good value!
I stayed for quite a long time at this hostal and found it to be OK. The gentleman was friendly and helpful and tried to speak English. Clean rooms. Some rooms look out onto a tiny courtyard and don't have much natural light. Other rooms look on to the busy street. Calle de Atocha IS a very busy road! Traffic noise can be a problem, but there's shutters to deaden the noise. There's no lift and my room was 51 stairs up! Location is great - a 10 minute walk from Atocha station and just a couple of minutes from Anton Martin metro station.
Hostel Rivera - Great location in Madrid
This little hostal was on the 2nd floor of a building. The room was nice and had a shower en suite, It is in a very active part of Madrid. It was a 5 Euro trip to the Prado or The Royal Palace. It was only blocks from a square with lots going on including a restaurant with Flamenco Dancing shows. My sister and I walked the 6 blocks with little certain for safety as it is a well lit area. There was shopping and banks in either direction from the hostal and easy to catch a cab. The buses run there and there is a netro stop within a block. The wifi in the hostal was excellent. The staff which is the family who live on-site were pleasant. Though their English was limited (only flaw), but they tried to be helpful with any questions I had. I receommend it if you are looking for someplace to sleep and regroup while touring Madrid.
Hostel rivera Madrid
The Rivera is classed as a hostel not Hotel. It offers clean if slightly shabby accomodation on the first and second floors on the Calle Atocha. The rooms are independant and there is no communal area or breakfast. The main advantage is that it is in easy walking distance of Atocha station and the main art galleries, old town and shops. It provides an inexpenisve servicable stop over.
no English
They could not speak English. I was not able to have conversation with anybody there. no lift. Wifi - I could not use. No English - I could not get any information even where the airportbuses are. I will not go again
Rivera in Madrid
This is a hostal so it is not fair to ask it to be luxurious, but it was hard to stay here for a few minor reasons. If you are tall, you will hate the beds. They are super short and have a base board at the bottom so your feet can't hang off. The walls are super thin and we had to hear our neighbor's conversation 'til four in the morning every night. It's also on a major street that is super loud. But it's really close to the three major museums of Madrid, the metro and there are a bunch of restaurants nearby. The owner was really nice and spoke excellent English.
just on budget. dont expect more than that
room without window : quiet but not satisfying room with window toward outside : very noise until 4am hardly sleep. just on budget in the center.
Céntrico y práctico
Hostal céntrico. Práctico y bien comunicado para moverse a pie. Limpio.
Good.place
Limpio y bien comunicado
Excelente, local perfeito, quarto super confortável, tudo limpo. Só elogios para tudo .
Excelente ubicación.
Solo dormimos 1 noche, estuvo bien el alojamiento
I recommend this hostel. Very good location.
Excelente
Estadia muito confortável
Camera fatiscente, poco spaziosa e poco accessoriata, bagno cieco. Letti comodi.Pulizia e personale ok, centralissima
Ottima posizione e ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo
Local simples mas bem localizado, curta caminhada à Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor e Gran Via. Ao lado estação do metrô. Limpeza e atenção muito boas. Recomendo, para quem tem orçamento baixo.
It was good to stay overnight after arriving on the first day of Madrid.
Very good choice
Very clean and quiet place. Perfect location. Our room was comfortable enough and it was cleaned every day. The balcony is helpful too. I would certainly recommend it.
WiFi ok, market e bar adiacenti all' edificio

Great service and very close to gran via
