The central location is perfect for walking to most of the tourist areas.

The room was fine, located centrally, easy to get around, but the bathroom was TINY. The shower stall was so small you could not bend over to shave your legs. In the stall the on/off for water is down near your ankles. When showering have to be careful not to hit or the water turns off, very weird. The bathroom itself was also small. Sitting on the toilet bent over to pick something off the floor and hit my forehead on the sink. When I booked the room (about 2 months before trip) I miscalculated and need to add another night to my stay. When I added the night they charged me the cost of what I originally paid plus another 70 dollars. I think that was too high of an additional charge. Not too many options at that point. Overall ok place to stay. The staff (not located at the site, one street over and down the block) were helpful (translator helps) and the room is centrally located.

I paid for a double room (sleeps 3 according to their site )and they clearly gave me a single that could barely fit me and my single luggage. The sheets were ok but the throw and pillows have seen better days. When I questioned the staff about the room she gaslit me into saying I was giving a double. I’m an architect I know what room sizes are.

Fantastic location

The location of the Hostal is amazing. We walked around central Madrid and found that we were always around 5 minutes away from the Hostal. The only downside is that the walls are quite thin. This didn’t bother me too much but it’s probably not ideal if you are a light sleeper - you can basically hear every conversation in the room next door; showers and pipes from toilet flushing can also be heard through the walls. The amenities are basic but if you just looking for a place to sleep at night, then I would recommend as the location is very good.

i liked it a lot! The only downside is the public noise, but the windows do a really good job in noise-cancelling this.

Hostal la Bañezana was the perfect location for a four day stay in Madrid. It had the amenities that we needed (free WiFi, air conditioning, own bathroom, elevator) and the staff was refreshingly personable and helpful. The central location meant that we were surrounded by the best of Madrid, with many main sights within two to three blocks. I will stay here again.

Inconvenient but good

Everything was good, the only thing I did not like was that I had to do check in in another building a few streets down the road, so It was ward to carry all the luggage to another location, check in and then go back the the first location to get to our room

I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone. The bed is very uncomfortable, the piping in the walls is extremely loud anytime water is used. I don’t think I slept at all.

Nice property and reasonably priced. Bigger room than other more expensive hostels. The only negative thing would be checking in at the sister hotel which is 3 mins away and lugging bags up the street and finding this actually hostel. (Having to find that hostel, go up three floors. Check in and go back down and to the booked hostel etc)

Impressed

Clean room, helpful staff and we were pretty much in the centre of things in the city! Room was quite small but good bathroom and aircon made up for it. Plus to get ready and sleep it was ideal!

Area was not quiet at all. Throughout the nights the streets got loud and we were unable to sleep through the nights.

Big mistake

I booked a last minute stay here for 2 nights based on reviews. We arrived right from our overnight flight and was exhausted. Thankfully she gave us our room early at 11.30. My husband and I crashed woke up 3 hrs later showered and went out to eat and walk around a bit. When we got back to our locked room our suitcases were rummaged thru. My wallet and skyroam box were gone. Thankfully my husband hid our passports before we left. According to front desk girl this guy was able to sneak in when she was distracted checking in someone. He stole master key and broke into several rooms taking other guests passports and IPads. We were only in Madrid for a couple of hours and this happened to us!!! Wanted to check out but it was late. Got zero sleep because you could here everyone coming and going in hallway plus music and people talking under our room at some bar. Couldn’t wait to check out the next day!!

The place is nice and ckean, looks new or been reconstructed. Great location, convenient but theres no blower and the area is crowded and little bit noisy at night but i would still recommend coz i had a wonderful time.

Great location for the Sol area

I stayed in two rooms over my stay. Both were extremely small, the second was quieter as it was away from the busy street but had no window or discernible ventilation.

Great hostal. The centre of the city - everything on your doorstep. Wonderful owner who was very helpful. Great restaurants within 2 minutes walk. Very highly recommended!

weekend stop-over

Perfectly located near the Plaza Del Sol in a picturesque, older part of Madrid with cafes, little stores, and lots of people wandering the streets at night. My first time in a 'hostal' and I felt very comfortable. The proprietress was friendly, helpful, and thoughtful.

Central location basic but clean

Small single room en suite but clean and comfortable. All I needed. Very helpful couple who ran it. Good location very central. A bit noisy outside but no problems. No air con. I didn't need it but imagine it could be hot in the summer. Would stay there again.

Close to metro cheap rate hostel

only 2 mins walk from Sol Metro. Average neighbourhood only. Can't expect too much with the cheap rate. Room clean and bed comfortable. Lots of eatery just round the street corner.

Excellent hostal, well located in the center of the city, easy to walk to all the museums, cultural centers, Puerta del sol, Gran via street, if you like to walk. No breakfast, but the hostal is surrounding of cafes, bars, and restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious Spanish food. The owner is very helpful, and attentive, always with desire to indicate the right directions and good suggestions. Will stay again on my next trip to Madrid.

Está muy bien ubicado, pero las instalaciones son muy pequeñas y sin ningún tipo de ventilación, mucho ruido por todos lados y nada limpio..no volveré sin duda

No me gustó

El personal no te ayuda a resolver cosas de la estancia, pedí la devolución de una noche, no me la quisieron dar cuando en hoteles.com si me autorizaron, pedí me cambiaran las toallas y no lo hicieron, hay que recoger las llaves en otro lugar con todo y maletas, lo hace complicado, el lugar es muy pequeño y se escuchan todos los ruidos de las habitaciones.

Hostal en plein centre mais salle de bain vraiment minuscule . Tres difficile de rentrer dans la douche et de s'asseoir sur les WC . Endroit bruyant car cabaret dans la rue avec des personnes qui sortent pour fumer jusqu'à 4 h du matin . Meme avec la fenetre fermée ca reste bruyant pour la nuit.

Hotel centralissimo alla città, molto comodo. stanza un po piccolina e letto ad una piazza e mezzo. bagno piccolissimo e doccia che non ti puoi neanche muovere. Inutile dire la mancanza di bidet... pulizie giornaliere e ottimali. pulitissimo

Madrid 4 jours

Bien salle de bains minuscule il faut jouer Tetris pour entrer dans la douche ou aller aux toilettes. Quartier des discotèques bruyant et animé dans la nuit. Par contre dans le centre de Madrid et pratique. Récéption dans une rue parallèle...

Elncech in se hace a 300 metros en otro hostal y es muy molesto ir de un lado a otro con las maletas. La habitacion no tenia ventilacion

Las sábanas de la habitación estaban sucias, con manchas en el edredón y restos de pintalabios. Había un pub abajo y el ruido era insoportable hasta altas horas de la madrugada y hacia mucho frío dentro de la habitación, porque hasta que no está debajo de 22 grados, no salta el radiador y eso no es cierto, porque estábamos muertos de frío. Lo que nos gustó del lugar fue la localización, estaba en pleno centro y el personal de la recepción fue muy agradable y nos avisó antes sobre cuándo estaría nuestra habitación para poder entrar en ella antes de las 14:00 y nos dejó guardar el equipaje mientras.

Leider im Hotel sehr laut und sehr staubig. Nicht wie auf der Bilder beschrieben. Sehr kleines Zimmer. Man muss das Check Inn in einem anderen Hotel machen.

Perfect for the family

Very nice, clean and overall perfect place for a few days in the centre of Madrid for a little family. Really good service! Just don’t miss that the key is picked up at an other address!

El recepcionista Raul muy simpático y amable la habitación bien limpia cama grande pero el baño pequeño pequeño Ubicado en una zona muy céntrica pero tranquila...

La localización es lo mejor, me senti muy segura en el área y al regresar la habitación siempre estaba limpia y arreglada. Se escucha el ruido de otras habitaciones y si no hubiese que ir a buscar la llave a otro hostal, sería de lo mejor. Además, deben avisar antes de que uno compre que es así.

Habitación muy cómoda y sin ruido, en una zona con mucha “movida”, gran variedad de sitios para comer y muy buen transporte público. Qué cambiaría? Las almohadas! Increible que en estas épocas una cama de dos plazas únicamente tenga UNA almohada en lugar de al menos dos individuales.

Room was fine. Small, but sufficient. Check in was in another hostal, communication was poor (the English translation left out some major details). Was told during check-in that I could leave my bag at the desk after check-out, but when the time came, no-one was there to receive it.
