I love this hotel, it has so much character and is so well appointed, perfect for a stay in Laguardia. I have stayed here each time I have been to the town and it has been excellent each and every time. Staff was more than friendly, the rooms are fantastic, the food is fantastic, it’s a wonderful place to stay hands down
Staff was exceptional
Experience LaGuardia in a place that is authentic and historic while being comfortable and friendly. The restaurant and bar are both wonderful, the staff and food excellent. A complimentary wine and snacks in the historic caverns below ground.
beautiful medieval town out of the movies
Our two night stay was wonderful! The room was perfectly appointed with charming decor and there was also a beautifully furnished spacious sitting area outside our room. The restaurant is well worth dining at. Our meal was delicious and the plating was an unexpected treat! The staff were very helpful and friendly and parking off site was easy.
Gem in historic walled town
Unique boutique hotel in an ancient hilltop village with amazing views of surrounding vineyards and wineries. Our room was very spacious and well appointed, with distinct furnishings, a large bathroom and walk-in shower, and a sizable walk-in closet. Wonderful sitting area in the atrium and unusual bar in the old wine cellars. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Wonderful stay. Parking is a little difficult. You must find a place outside the walled city to park, which will be free. This can be difficult in certain times of day. Late afternoon seemed best. The hotel does offer a garage with a bit of a walk for a fee.
Beautiful hotel with great staff.
We enjoyed our stay very much! One suggestion: The private parking information was not available in advance. It would be helpful if the hotel could send a pin, or suggest a way to get bags up to the hotel.
I booked a May visit at this property in January through Expedia. I received a confirmation. Shortly before arrival, Expedia informed me that the property was overbooked and I would have to find alternative accommodations. Not happy with Expedia.
All about the wine.
All about the wine in Laguardia. Not much else to do. Hotel is very good. Restaurant is great.
The staff was very friendly!
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful city.
This is a charming hotel in the old city. Staff is friendly - most spoke some English. It would have been useful to know that half of the rooms do not have windows to the outside - don’t think that was in the description. Our garbage cans had not been emptied but other than that everything was nice and clean. There are no small reading lights by the bed so it’s either all lights on or off. No coffee maker in the room. Breakfast included and the restaurant was one of the nicer in the area.
Walking through the historical old village of LaGuardia was truly amazing & the Inn was excellent!!
Wonderful stay in an amazing town.
If you are thinking of visiting the rioja region, there is no finer place than this. Set in LaGuardia, a quaint hillside town with spectacular views, my wife and I loved every minute we spent there.
Great location and friendly staff. We felt right at home. Their restaurant was excellent.
Great location and hotel. The whole experience is wonderful would recommend for anyone looking for a nice visit
Excellent location , nice and clean room. very good food at the restaurant.
Beautiful spacious room. Great sitting area for guests beneath lightwell. Very romantic hotel with great breakfast included.
Spectacular hotel and city
Amazing hotel, very good service, fantastic breakfast. We were concern about Covid and wanted to have breakfast in one of the outside tables. The hotel staff brought us breakfast to an outside table. Wonderful food and plenty of it. And a charming middle age town, very well kept. A must visit.
The hotel is charming, immaculate and well appointed. The room was comfortable. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was amazing and the selection of wines was impressive. Definitely there to stay in Laguardia
Very. Nice
Laguardia great hotel
What a wonderful hotel to stay at and visit LaGuardia. Don’t be mislead by any star ratings as we have stayed in many hotels and this is one of the best. The staff were really friendly and the food was great. Please note, LaGuardia is a medieval walled town never built for cars so you need to park outside the walls. The good news is the parking is free and not a long walk from the hotel.
Wow. Whats not to like about this place! I did a lot of research on where to stay in the slower month of February with my fiancée, to relax and getaway, but to also get to know a small community of locals with good wine and food, and man did I hit the jackpot! This place is unlike any other. First, the hotel is so beautiful, amazing bar and wine selection. Beautiful wine bar downstairs, great breakfast, wonderful staff. The room was spacious, with a jacuzzi tub, and nice medieval decor, like the artwork and the curtains and balconies, very romantic. We also got a couple massages and used the spa for an afternoon. It was very relaxing, and the massages were perfect. The town of LaGuardia is so cool, with caves under every building. It is a small town that is easy to explore, but there is something great around every corner. This is the exact place we were looking for. You can’t go wrong with this hotel. It was a dream.
Amazing hotel
Characterful hotel in the city walls. The staff were welcoming and the room was very well appointed.
We had a lovely room overlooking the square. It was big and spacious and very comfortable. The only down side was that it had a spa bath, but no shower. Great staff, all welcoming and friendly.
very lovely hotel and pleasant staff, the food was excellent.
Dreamy stay!
Extra romantic, wonderful stay ! Music playing outside your balcony ,great wine caves , great food and extremely helpful staff! Like fairy land...dreamy!
Excellent location, Staff very helpful food in Restrauant excellent!! Down stairs was a wine cellar!!!
Nice hotel in centre of town. Room was quite dark and was noisy at certain times of the day. Staff were wonderful. Food was great for dinner and breakfast.
Terrible. Could not stay in the room. Jack hammer and along with banging started at 8:10am. Asked for slight discount as not possible to stay in the room during the day.NO was the answer. I asked for a drink to at least compensate. Again NO was the answer.
Fabulous location. Easy access to free parking. Billage has ample, but not too much shopping. Actuve restaurant scene and friendly staff. Ysiis Bodega tour (4 minutes away) is great.
Very very good location nice staff clean room good breakfast. Everything was great.
Family Trip to Spanish Wine Country
Very unusual hotel, given its location. Laguardia is a typical historic village in the Spanish countryside, but the hotel is a small, luxurious facility with unique rooms and furnishings, and an excellent restaurant. Definitely not what we were expecting, so a very pleasant surprise. Parking is difficult, and actually finding the entrance to the hotel was also a challenge. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall, a very nice one-night stay.
Excellent hotel
Excellent hotel in beautiful area. Very good staff. Would have appreciated better lighting in the bedroom.
Laguardia is a great base for visiting La Rioja, and Hospedería de los Parajes is a unique hotel. The staff were great to us. The interior architecture is a treat and our room was very comfortable in all respects. It was a real treat to stay there, a highlight of our trip to Spain.
Los Parajes is a special hotel!
Staying at this hotel was truly a hi-light of our family vacation. The detail the owner has dedicated to each room and overall hotel is amazing. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Everyone makes sure your every comfort is met. The breakfast is very good and we truly enjoyed the cellar for an evening snack. Highly recommend. Will go back for sure!
Quirky gem of a hotel
We loved this hotel! All of the staff were amazing from Diego to Roberto and the owners. So helpful. Our room was lovely, breakfast fine and we both really enjoyed the evening meal. They booked us a tour at a local bodegas following their recommendation at dinner for a beautiful bottle of wine. We’ll definitely be back when we visit Laguardia again
Lovely family run hotel fabulous location
The hotel is idyllic, family run and staff are friendly. My room had an amazing location over looking the little square and the family dancing clock. Rooms are not cheap and in line with high end 4* prices, but it was worth it for one night. 240 euros without breakfast. We ate in the dinning room, staff were lovely and fabulous wine selection as you would expect for Rioja. However, my friend had the mushrooms to start, which was a special and they charged 25 euros, expensive starter. My slow cooked pig was chewy and not really slow cooked which was disappointing and my friends cod dish had so much salt he could not eat it So very disappointing meal. Despite the restaurant I would stay there again and eat in on of the many restaurants in the walled village
Central , not great value
Superior twin, very comfortable beds but no daylight at all as window onto inner courtyard / lounge. Room very quiet. Good dressing and bathroom areas. Not so keen on the artificial flowers. Breakfast a bit disappointing, fruit not good quality ( orange juice good) and coffee machine a disaster, one day it did not work at all. The whole hotel has a rather transient atmosphere, kind of had the feeling more effort being put into encouraging day trippers to use bar / restaurant than to caring for residents.
Charming
Charming hotel, lovely staff, magical setting. Wonderful!
Really excellent hotel with great food and wine. The room we had overlooked the square and was beautiful. Great location on the iconic town square but it should also be noted that it can be slightly noisy due to people being around and the church bells!!! This is an amazing little town and it should be a must to visit.
Great Rooms!
Great sized rooms with fantastic views!
Lovely restored building in medieval walled city located in the heart of the pedestrian area. Rooms and bathroom were lovely, the air conditioner was working well. Near to Rioja wineries.
Nice centrally located hotel
Hotel is located in the center of the old walled city. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. Parking is very limited (there is no specific hotel parking). There are several free parking lots within an easy walking distance (a few hundred yards). Need to drop luggage at a gate to the walled city and take car to parking lot.
Wonderful spot in the Rioja
La Guardia is a pedestrian city in the Rioja so you park outside And walk into the town. Everything at the hotel was wonderful! The staff was helpful, even walking us to a local restaurant. The room was spacious with great amenities like heated floors in bathroom.
Enclosed town experience
Not a chain hotel or a large city experience. Friendly, modern facility in a centuries old Hill town. Interesting redevelopment of space facing the main town square/intersection. Good breakfast, lobby bar, dining room. Nice reading lounge. Only complaints are the shower leaked and the hearing was difficult to adjust. However, really enjoyed a modern facility in a very historic setting. Very nice staff.
A great hotel!!!
An unbelievable hotel in the beautiful walled city of Laguardia. Unlike other European hotels, our room was huge! The whole hotel, including our room, was unbelievably clean. The staff was always willing to help. Roberto, who worked at the front desk and was our waiter at the restaurant at night, was outstanding. And the food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was excellent too, although a little pricey for dinner (but worth it). We loved Laguardia and we enjoyed taking in a few winery tours in the Rioja region. Highly recommend this hotel, and Laguardia, if you plan to visit wine country.
Classic Olde World
A gracious group of staff made our stay so comfortable. They assisted us with appointments for winery tours and lunch. When I asked to mail a post card, not only did they mail it but they provided the postage stamp as well. The breakfast staff were prompt getting our eggs and coffee custom made for us. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the wine cave below. I'd definitely recommend this hotel within the ancient walled city of Laguardia, La Rioja Spain.
Very noisy and not helpful
I was very disappointed in this hotel. The rooms were noisy .... Every room either faced the plaza or an interior common room. I had trouble sleeping both nights due to noise from the street. The staff told us that nobody ever complained about the noise but when looking at other websites, that is not true. During the day it was not quiet as many people congregate in the plaza below. Only one person at the desk spoke good English and she was less than helpful in trying to find us places to taste wine (everything seems to need to be booked ahead in Rioja). For the price of the room €200+ it was terrible value and I have walked away from this hotel very tired!
Pleasant stay in a quaint old town
In general, this hotel provided a high standard of accommodation - the room was a good size and was furnished to a very good standard. Also the restaurant was very good both in terms of the quality of food and of the excellent service. The only significant negative for me is that the position of the shower in the room gives a lack of privacy which may be a concern to some. One minor quibble - we had trouble opening the door to the room as this required excess force to be used in turning the key. Having said this, the staff were very helpful in sorting this out; they were also very friendly and helpul in general.
Best Hotel in Rioja Area!
This hotel is a must if you are looking for a romantic stay in the Famous Rioja area. The only downside is that there are no scenic views of the countryside.
Beautiful location
A magnificent hotel in a cool town. Beautiful views on all sides. The restaurant was delicious. Friendly and accommodating staff. A ton of wineries are close by.
Hotel overlooking Plaza Mayor
Great position overlooking Plaza Mayor in old town. Beautifully furnished, comfortable bedroom and wonderful bathroom. All rooms very individually furnished. Would recommend eating at this hotel, the food is very very good!
Beautiful hotel with very helpful staff
Great place to say with very helpful staff,. BUT there is close to zero parking in the town, so if you have a lot of luggage this is maybe not good (caught us out).
A memorable place
An absolute must see, hotel and town are stunning. Great wineries very close by, especially Marques de Riscal. Churches are another must see. My only regret was having two twin beds together, instead of a bigger bed for two. Other than that, everything else was breathtaking!
Nice Hotel in LaGuardia.
We stay at the hotel on a weekend away from our baby. Room was very nice with a view/balcony to the Plaza. Had a nice tub and the common areas were very nice. Breakfast was really good. LaGuardia is a very nice and small town. We would go to the bodgeas after breakfast, walk around the town after siesta, and then go to nearby towns for dinner. I would say a car would be pretty necessary. Really liked it.
Perfect stay
Everyone at the hotel was helpful and offered excellent service. The room was extremely nice and the location perfect. Breakfast and bar pluses,
Very helpful and friendly at the reception. They were patient and helpful at orienting us to the town and for making reservations at local vineyards. Fact that breakfast and a set of wine and tapas were included were a huge plus! It's the best place in Spanish wine country you could ask for! Only downside is that the place doesn't have the best lighting or views, but I don't think you can find that anywhere in the old walled city of la guardia.
Interesting family run hotel.
Overall we enjoyed our stay here. There were a few caveats however. The bathroom arrangements in our particular room were awkward with the shower being part of the jacuzzi which didn't work for us. The walls and ceilings transmit sound so our neighbors were a little close. Also our room faced the main square where everyone congregates until midnight. Fortunately the town clock does not chime through the night so we were able to get a good nights rest.
Fantastic
This hotel is right in the main square of a lovely medieval town. The Rioja wine district is at your door step. The hotel is beautiful and has a nice restaurant and wine cave. Room was lovely
beautiful hotel
we stayed only one night attending a wedding close by. the staff were very helpful in getting our room ready for us to get changed in time, the room on the second floor war beautifully designed, large and luxurious. you reached the room via a glass walkway over the stylish guest lounge which the room was overlooking. the walk-in rainfall shower was just wonderful. We stayed during the time of the fiesta, but whether it was due to the room facing the inside of the hotel or because of the thick walls, there was no noise disturbing us. The hotel is directly overlooking the main square. we were given a voucher for a glass of wine with pintxo in the hotels wine cellar. Unfortunately we did not stay long enough to try this or the hotel spa. I would recommend this beautiful hotel and would be happy to stay here again. there is no parking at the hotel, we found a space in the designated area outside the town walls. It was nice to have breakfast at the hotel.
Just go !
A beautiful hotel in a really beautiful place.
No cookie cutter hotel, this...
Great location, friendly staff, atmospheric in a positive way!
Amazing
Amazing hotel in an amazing place. The only slight issue we would raise is the spa facilities are chargeable which as far as I could see on the information is not mentioned - this was disappointing as we paid more than we would normally have done as the reviews were excellent and we really wanted to enjoy the spa facilities.
Special Place!
After finding the hotel (within the walls of the city) we settled into a fantastic room facing the square. It is very comfortable. The room was a good size with lovely linens. The shower/bathroom area was also unique. We only stayed one night between visits to wineries, but would have enjoyed more time there. We were offered wine and tapas in the caves of the wine cellar. And the buffet breakfast was also quite nice. Would love to visit again.
Wonderful stay
I loved this hotel. Great location for exploring Rioja; charming; breakfast and a drink included in the room rate; inside the old city walls.
Charming hotel
The hotel is very well situated (in the heart of the village) and the rooms very well decorated and full of charm. The rooms are slightly noisy (you can hear other people taking a shower for example), the service is good.
good hotel in historic small town
We had booked 3 nights accommodation including breakfast . This was part of a two week touring holiday of north Spain via the car ferry with our own car. One must park outside the town walls. We left the luggage in the car to investigate the location. It was a short walk to the hotel. The hotel immediately offered to collect our luggage & placed it in the room whilst we took a drink outside on the small square. We then had a small lunch outside in the square. We had 3 dinners at the hotel (2 inside). We found the staff good & attentive with good English. The owner spoke no English but was friendly & tried to communicate. The food was top rate, breakfast lunch & dinner. During the day we toured the area & visited small towns wineries etc. Wi Fi worked well. On departure the staff took my luggage to the car. I advise others to do as we did & leave the luggage in the car on arrival until you have found the hotel location. I have travelled really worldwide & have large experience, typically staying in 8 to 20 hotels in a year over Europe, America, Canada, South America India, China, Africa, Australia , Asia generally & the middle east.
Delightful
An excellent hotel in a lovely town. An old building very sympathetically converted to a hotel with great facilities. Good sized rooms, huge comfy beds and excellent service from the moment you arrive. A cellar "cave" with bar as well as the hotel bar and a very good hotel restaurant.
If going to Rioja area, this is a great place.
I was meeting friends for a winery visit, and booked in to the Hospederia del los Parajes through Hotels.com. I arrived about 9:00 PM having eaten only an apple all day so I was quite hungry. The hotel restaurant was open (9:00PM is early in Spain) and I had a wonderful meal. The room was lovely and roomy with all comforts that I could expect. The staff is terrific. I highly recommend.
Found a nice hotel in this rustic old town. You go back to the middle ages. Clean and safe installations, a wonderful stay.
