Wonderful stay at this hotel! It was a trip to celebrate our anniversary and this hotel made our stay special! Tastefully decor in the room and lovely view.

Horizon Beach Hotel - Harry & Liz Aug 2023

Just come back from 10 days at Horizon Beach Hotel. The property was clean and appropriately fitted out for a three star hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of the resort. There are ample car parking space on-site. Overall I thought the Horizon Beach Hotel offered good value for money.

A home away from home

Fantastic place. So moch so that we have decided to go back for an extended stay. Luisa and her mom made our stay even more special. Molly was a great host too.

Great room and view

It was off-season so there were only a few other people (maybe like 5) at the hotel grounds. The owner greeted us welcomingly when we arrived by car. Check-in and out was easy. The room and balcony view was great. Clean, nice beds, bright room. Close to one of the beaches and at walking distance to the town. We enjoyed our time there.

Nice hotel, rooms were spacious.

Stavros the owner nice guys, very friendly. No issues with the room or cleanliness. All sea facing rooms, with balcony. Fridge, cutlery and kettle. Breakfast was very basic and bland but eatable. Hotel is located at the end of the strip of Plakias so a bit of walk to and from beaches, restaurants but very pleasant hotel. Would recommend if you are on a budget.

A perfect choice of a perfect place to stay.

An amazing stay with a caring staff and owners. This hotel is not too high up on a hill close to a supermarket and a great selection of restaurants tavernas and snack bars then walk down the hill into Plakias town and you have a huge choice of so many great places to eat and do a bit of shopping. It has a very small fishing town feel and i loved that, getting away from London i did not need generic clothes shops or loads of restaurants with no soul. Amazing very welcoming people my first time in Crete and i already want to go back and i would stay in this hotel.

Wonderful hotel

Very nice hotel, great friendly owner, excellent breakfast. The only minus is that there is no beach to swim in front of it. But walking to the beach is not too far.

One of the nicest hotel we got in Greece

We really liked this hotel The owner was very nice with us. We had two rooms that communicate with each other (we have 3 kids). The sea view was just fantastic! We had breakfast with that sea view. The breakfast was very good. There was no problem with parking (which could be problematic in Greece). It was very clean.

Great hotel for a great price

Loved this little hotel. Walking distance from local beaches and town. Great rooms. The extra fee for the seaside view is absolutely worth it. The view was amazing! We had a studio with two balconies. Bathroom was roomy and clean. Family-run business with nice staff. Very good breakfast and a fabulous terrace for dining.

So beautiful and relaxing and unspoilt

A little slice of paradise; we did not know what to expect in Plakias as neither of us had been there nor did we have any first hand reviews; we had a lovely 2 room apartment for a slight increase in rate with a breathtaking view of the water and beach- moonlit nights, delicious breaksfast (European style not American); 5 min walk to town and the tavernas, 3 min walk down to beach (with almost no-one on it) and unspoilt. Away from comercialism, no large groups or tour buses and only 15 mins drive to Preveli beach. We can't wait to go back!!

Horizon Beach, Plakias, Crete

We stayed in January and were the only guests. The weather was extremely cold and like most Cretan hotels (and houses) there was no central heating. However, the staff were very accommodating and found an electric heater, which combined with the aircon unit kept us just about warm. The hotel has fantastic views and in the summer would be brilliant. Crete in the winte is to be recommended but bring a hot water bottle!

Tolle Lage, ruhig aber schnell fußläufig am Strand bzw im Ort bei den Restaurants. Sehr freundliches Personal. Tolle Terrasse für das Frühstück. Viel frisches Obst, das Buffet könnte aber ansprechender gestaltet sein (sehr zweckmäßig). Leider war es nicht sauber, Spinnweben, fremde Haare im Bett, Kaffeetassen im Zimmer unbrauchbar und die Handtücher stanken fürchterlich und waren dreckig. Uns hat der Balkon mit Meerblick gefallen und die ausreichenden Parkplätze direkt vor Ort.

goede ontvangst, ruime kamer met uitzicht op zee, goed ontbijt met ruime keuze uit diverse dingen (maar ook hier zie je toch mensen die diverse dingen meenemen in tassen misschien voor de lunch ???) vriendelijk personeel

Belle chambre. Jolie vue sur la mer. Acces plage en face. Au calme mais les magasins et restaurants sont accessibles a pied en 5 mns

Super Meerblick, weg zum Plakias Zentrum kurz, guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach preveli, souda Beach, Rethymno. Parkplätze genug vor dem hotel verfügbar Frühstück sehr schlecht. Jeden Tag das gleiche. Toastbrot, teilweise verschimmelte Oliven, dafür war der Kaffee automat gut. Die Heuschrecken sind doch schon sehr laut, aber da kann das hotel nichts für

Les + : Hôtel en front de mer, calme, personnel agréable. Les - : Chambre et surtout la salle de bain un peu petites, pas de draps ni de couvertures 2 places. Le lit était à faire à notre arrivée. Le Wifi est très faible. Petit déjeuner pas terrible

Siisti hotelli, lyhyt matka kivalle rannalle

Siisti perushotelli hyvällä paikalla Plakiaksen kivoimpien rantojen lähellä. Saimme perusvarauksesta huolimatta sattumalta hienon ison terassin omaavan huoneen, josta oli upea näköala lahden ylle ja kiva viettää siestaa varjossa. Hotelli ei ole ihan keskustassa, mutta sieltä on varsin lyhyt kävelymatka läheiseen supermarketiin, josta haimme aamupalan, lähellä on myös hyviä ravintoloita. Henkilökunta oli varsin ystävällistä. Auton sai hyvin hotellin parkkipaikalle.

Schönes Hotel, gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis

Wir haben als dreiköpfige Familie insgesamt für 3 Nächte gebucht. Sehr freundlicher Hotelinhaber, sehr freundliches Personal, für ein 2*-Hotel ein sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet. Tolle Lage direkt am Meer. Ruhig, aber dennoch fußläufig zum Ort. Empfehlenswert!

Zimmer mit Meerblick direkt am Strand

Sauberkeit der Zimmer top, wunderschöne Lage direkt am Meer und nur 5 Minuten zu Fuß ins Zentrum von Plakias; das Frühstück ist verbesserungswürdig (aber ok für Preis-Leistungsverhältnis). Alles in allem super empfehlenswert!

Det var et dejligt lille hotel/lejlighedskompleks. Vi tog en opgrade til en lidt større lejlighed, og det var det hele værd. Skøn lille lejlighed med vidunderlig udsigt. Værtsparret er rare og serviceminded. Vi kommer gerne igen.

Proche plage

Hotel: oreiller tres mauvais tele ne fonctionne serviette de toilettes raiches et dechirees je pense que les francais ne sont pas les bienvenus car pour la tele qui ne fonctonnait pas n a fait aucun effort pour vous ce qui se passait nous a repondu qu il ne ne connaissait rien.... special pour allemands....

Flott opphold. Stort minus ved at verten ga meg skjenn fordi jeg ba om hjelp til å få løst proppen i vasken!

Schönes, ruhiges toll gelegenes Hotel

Hotel ist in Strandnähe. Alle Zimmer mit Meerblick. Schöne Tavernen wenige Gehminuten entfernt. Trotzdem sehr ruhig. Der Besitzer ist freundlich. Wir fanden es klasse. Einzig das Frühstück wär nicht unser Ding - aber Das ist halt so in Griechenland...

Ein sehr schönes kleines Hotel direkt am Strand!

Wer Ruhe sucht ist hier genau richtig. Man hört nur das Meeresrauschen und die Zirkaden. Im kleinen Ort ist man zu Fuß aber auch bereits in weniger als 10 Minuten. Sehr empfehlenswert! :-)

Excellent hôtel, 2 pas du centre, 50m de la plage

Plakias est très touristique, on se croirait à saint Michel avec les femmes qui vous racolent pour vous faire consommer dans les tavernes. Les plages de sable fin sont quasi inexistantes dans le sud de la Crète donc voiture indispensable pour trouver une plage de sable fin. Je ne recommande pas ce séjour avec un enfant en bas âge car il n'y a aucune activité de proposé pour les tout petits. Vous allez me dire des châteaux de sable mais sur les plages du sud que des galets et ou des petits cailloux. Les plages et la Crète sont sales vous y trouverez tampons, serviettes en papiers, bouteilles en plastiques dans la nature et c'est dommage. Pour ce baigner le mieux et de prévoir des petites chaussures pour ne pas se blesser avec les roches. Eau est chaude et c'est très agréable. Beaucoup de vagues donc génial pour le bodyboard beaucoup moins bien pour se baigner avec petit bout de chou. Pour les enfants le mieux eT la plage en vas de l'hôtel l'eau est peu profonde et protéger par les rochers donc pas de vagues pour les babys. Globalement nous avons était déçu par la crete en général mais pas par l'hôtel. Et le dépaysement fait quand même du bien et ça reste malgré tout de superbes paysages.

Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen, auch die schöne Frühstücks-Terasse. Wir wären gerne noch länger geblieben.

idealer Ort als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen, Baden. Viele, gute Restaurants, schöne Strände

Perfekte Lage, nettes Ambiente

Die kleine Anlage ist geschmackvoll gestaltet. Die Lage ist perfekt, der kleine, lebhafte Ort Plakias ist in wenigen Gehminuten zu erreichen. Die Straße vor dem Hotel ist nur wenig befahren. Der Strand in Plakias war jetzt im September relativ leer, es gibt kleine Abschnitte mit Liegen und Sonnenschirmen. Weitere nette Buchten sind in der Umgebung mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen.

Hotel zum Wohlfühlen

Erstklassiges Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Geräumiges Zimmer, sehr gute Dusche, Klimaanlage inbegriffen und dazu noch ein ausgezeichnetes Frühstück. Sehr ruhige Lage und nur ein kurzer Spaziergang ins Zentrum.

Lovely place on the world

I don't know official classification, but I don´t know, why hotel has only 2 stars. It was really great and the view from our balcony... unforgettable, nice room, rich breakfest. Thanks for our lovely Plakias´memories.

Hotellet ligger godt plassert i Plakias i utkanten av "sentrum" hvor det er stille og rolig. Men noen minutters gange så er en på hovedstranden og også hvor de fleste spisesteder og butikker er plassert. Strand finnes også rett nedenfor hotellet.
