Stay was good. Close to everything. Our room had views of the city and the pool. Friendly staff. Parking was snug for my larger vehicle.

We had a great stay, we had a large spotless room with everything you could need. The staff were very helpful and the hotel is located near a metro station and bus stops. Also plenty of places to eat nearby.

No working tvs and blonde women at front has no Compassion for paying customers rude, obnoxious, horrible customer service, no respect for anyone of any kind only cares about is your money and how you making your deposit. do not come here if you want a warm, inviting hotel. Rude individuals and no respect for the customer.

This was the worst hotel I've ever been to. I couldn't sleep because the surrounding area was noisy. I was supposed to stay for 2 nights, but I checked out after 1 night. There was no refund

Quaint and stylish hotel in a very ideal location. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Contrary to some of these reviews, I found the area this hotel is in very safe and never once did I feel in danger in this neighborhood day or night. The best thing about this hotel however, is it's amazing staff! Juan and Kimberly went above and beyond any expectation I could possibly have had. Juan is the best example of hotel personnel I have ever encountered!

lovely staff and had a nice stay

Place was great for our stay. Theres a taco truck 2 blocks down and then 3 blocks up. Across from target. Amazing food. And super close. The staff was great when we needed them. Juan was super amazing at helping me with changing our check in.

Not bad for a quick stay. Price was decent and the room in general was clean enough. The area is a bit sketchy at night so definitely not recommend to be walking alone. Check in was prompt but wish since there was.no elevator, staff couldve helped wjth luggage as we had 3 suitcases to bring up. Other than that, room was comfy, bathroom amenities seemed a bit on cheaper side but not a total dealbreaker. For a quick stay, it worked out for what we needed.

The staff here was friendly and willing to assist when needed. I had a spacious room which was comfortable and clean.

Super friendly staff specially Kimberly and Juan. They are the best at what they do make you feel comfortable welcome like you’re part of the family. Create location super clean rooms very affordable for a motel. Easy to get around. Specially, if you are here for sightseeing like the Hollywood sign that Griffith, Observatory, universal studios, Hollywood of fame and Hollywood Highland the mall easy to get to downtown museums like the Lima, the auto museum, which is across the street from Lima Beverly Center great experience there Beverly Hills, which is not too far from here very cute Mid Senturi century building great neon sign out front it’s amazing take a picture of right in front of it. I suggest at night when it’s lit up..

Great stay love the mid century modern vive of the hotel. Great location not too far from the Hollywood walk of fame in the shopping mall at Hollywood in Highland also, you’re just a short ride away from Universal Studios or hop on the train to get to it, can also hop on the train, and get to downtown. There’s lots to do nearby like hike to the famous Hollywood sign, the Griffith of Satori, Lima, museum, near Lima Beverly Center, Los Feliz Silverlake there’s plenty to do if you’re looking for a comfortable cheap getaway is where to stay at staff is super friendly. Kimberly and juan are the best and rooms are super super clean if you want to save some money and stay somewhere cozy. I highly recommend this place it’s a motel not a hotel, so not as many enmity as a hotel has but well worth the price. You get what you pay for

Color me impressed by this stay! I was a little iffy about it by the reviews but if you understand that this a motel and right in Hollywood then you’re golden. The area seems a bit sketchy but this place is well secured. The parking is located in the back and locked by a gate code. The staff is BEYOND friendly and the location is pretty convenient because you’re not far from much at all.

Everyone was friendly and it was clean just wished that we would be provided with a map and explanation of how to find the room and our coffee maker didnt work in our room but aside from that it was fairly decent.

Great place about a two minute walk to the metro rail and market the room was really big has a nice little sofa a small kitchen and fridge really comfortable bed and pillows

They had everything here. Mircowave for leftovers, a tub, a mini fridge and the pool! The bed was really comfy pillows firm and sheets soft. We enjoyed our stay...next it will be longer!

There were no curtains on the window- it had broken wood blinds held together with tape allowing all the light from the office and street in the entire night. Additionally the door had a large gap on the top so the light from the hallway came through there. It was like daylight all night. It was very loud as well, as the room was right on top of the street and there is a fire station a few steps away. The pool was green. The remote did not work. The room was not cleaned properly, the bedside table and floors were dirty and hairy. The bathroom smelled of mildew. I come to L.A. regularly to see my Drs, and need a simple clean, quiet, dark room to rest due to my medical condition- this was not that. Desk clerk was nice, parking was secure.

I will stay here again.

Super friendly staff and clean rooms. This motel has lots of charm. Limited amenities, so if you need all the extras this place is probably not for you. If you appreciate a well cared for and maintained motel from the 50's, stay here you will love it.

Retro style hotel with updated rooms. Were clean. Staff was above and beyond friendly. I stayed for a three night run at the Hollywood Bowl and the Downtowner was a perfect choice.

It was good, however we we paid for a balcony and our balcony door was nailed shut:( so that sucked .. but the girl at the desk was awesome for trying to get us in another room but they were sold out. We will stay again! The area was good and we felt safe.

Guest attendants were amazing and very helpful!! The hotel itself was very disappointing. Our room didnt feel clean, especially our restroom. The floor panels creaked everywhere. There was no lock on the glass balcony screen door (I had to ask for a stick to place on the opposite end so the door can't be open from outside). The walls/doors were so thin you could hear everything outside (people talking, walking on the steps, lights from outside, smh). I paid 200 for the night so you can tell my disappointment. Besides the sweet guest attendants, we defintely wont be returning here. If you dont mind any of the things i mentioned and decide to book it, you'll get a good location on sunset blvd.

Gated area for guests requiring a code for entry and parking made us feel safe regardless of it being in the not best area of Hollywood Blvd. Room was clean and having a balcony was nice to sit outside and enjoy the pool view. Would definitely book here again on our next visit to Hollywood!

Very unique hotel everything is walking distance even the metro redline. Clean renovated rooms and parking included great price for you buck!

For what this place is it’s great. Clean, spacious and secure not to mention great service. If you’re after a budget option in the Hollywood area, I’d have this as your go to place. Close to public transport, shops , food outlets as well as all the Hollywood action.

I enjoyed my stay it was very relaxing. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean! The staff there were great! I will definitely come back and stay here again.

It is what it is. the bed was not comfy and it didn’t have any sort of blanket or comforter when we arrived. I got a charge for 15 dollars for a damaged linen. called and got no explanation as to what it was. It’s a budget motel. don’t expect much.

Fun place to stay

The staff here were super welcoming and friendly — it made a big impression. The hotel is super cute and funky in all the right ways. The beds were not the greatest and the sheets were extremely rough snd scratchy , and we were bummed that the “balcony” was not actually accessible (the sliding glass door was bolted to the frame)which also equals no windows for fresh air but other than that it is an excellent hotel .

Paid for balcony, balcony door was broken. Room was overall dirty when checking in and staff was not friendly when alerted.

Great and friendly staff. Good to know there's security present since the area around isn't that safe. The room we stayed at was great, clean and comfortable. Would definitely come back and recommend it.

It's actually not too shabby for a motel. Went in with low expectations, and it surpassed my expectations. Area surrounding motel is a bit sketch.

Well, it is an old property and a sketchy street. Inside the room was better but still only fair. I would recommend staying in a different part of the city and spend a little more.

Crappy service

Cancelled our reservations before we even got there. No phone call or email to notify us. With 2 kids sitting in a hot car we had to find somewhere else. Then 10 minutes later they had rooms available.

I like that people need a card key to get in the premises which makes you feel secure. I didn't like the air conditioning because it was noisy and it was hard to fall asleep with the a/c noise.

Poor building; broken bath tub, broken handles, very little water pressure. Paint patches in room walls, old appliances, hair on pilows from probably previous guests, poor breakfast. Only upside was location and parking. Not worth the price

It has a very retro vibe which is why we chose to stay here. Unfortunately our room was not ready at check-in which was 3pm. We were given the keys and walked into a messy room. Then we waited an hour for it to be cleaned. At this point we were expecting a clean room. But one of the blankets on the bed was definitely not cleaned and had something crusty on it. Also there were cobwebs everywhere. Overall a very disappointing stay. Don’t let the photos fool you. This place is run down. Would not recommend this property.

Great location, lovely service & employees. Comfy bed, only complaint is shower did not really get hot. But I stayed here another time & the shower was fine, so maybe just this room. I would stay here again!

Location was good. Free self parking was tight. Check in was easy. Owner, I’m assuming it was the owner, was very friendly & helpful. The motel is gated so I felt fairly secure. I wish the room had an additional lock or deadbolt on the door. The pool was closed. Our room did not look like the photos on the website. It was run down. The only heat in the room was a Presto space heater. The outlet had scorch marks so I was afraid to plug in the heater. The air conditioning unit was bulky. The walls are paper thin so every noise outside is heard. The room had a fridge, microwave & coffee maker. The bathroom had 2 ply toilet paper. The “hot” water for a shower was luke warm at best. There is no counter space in the bathroom for toiletries. The tv and cable worked fine. Housekeeping cleaned our room everyday. I didn’t utilize the free breakfast next door. I would stay there again if none of the other hotels in the area had availability.

Perfect for the price

Very clean. Old property but well taken care of and newly remodeled rooms. Great breakfast! Convenient location and parking. We loved our stay and whenever in Hollywood will stay here again.

I hesitated to write this as I had 2 separate visits so I feel I have a good feel of the place. Ummm .. The front office girl is a sweetie pie . The pool area is covered in plants and planters and is actually very attractive. The parking was easy and I felt safe getting out of my car. My first room the ... was pretty ok. But could not get hot water at 2 am when I got back. It was Luke warm and I hesitated as the room was not that warm. The 2nd time the heater was not working so they put a space heater in the room - it worked but again at 3 am this time almost cold shower and I had to freeze in front of the space heater. I know no one else was takign a shower so ..... wheres the heat. Each bed was super comfortable and they each had a fluffy blanket that I really liked.Quiet and close to LOTS . Would I stay there again ... not if I needed a shower late at night .

Nice stay in Hollywood

Old apartment, but pretty clean and quiet. Parking is easy and free breakfast is better than I expected. Easy access to Hollywood, Universal Studios and Metra Red Line.

Location is 5 star but WiFi, cleanliness snd bathroom not at all good. Breakfast is no value.

Best in the area

Hotel is off Hollywood Blvd easy to locate. Check in was quick, room has lots of space. I stayed there twice. This is my place to go to when visiting our daughter in West Hollywood Easy close access to freeway. Breakfast is right next door Very good ! Lots of parking and very safe.

The property is old and not very well maintained. It is convenient and the free parking and free breakfast are the perks.

My Unexpected Appreciation

Surprisingly, I was very happy to stay there. The parking being free was a huge plus, but I never expected to initially enjoy the room. I usually stay at 4-5 star hotels and am used to having amenities. The amenities that were not available to me here, made me enjoy my stay that much more. It’s not dirty, it’s not rugged, and all at the same time....it’s Hollywood.

It could use some renovations. We only stayed for one night and just needed a place to sleep, so great place for price. Food at cafe was pretty good and the person there was very nice.

This hotel is clean, rooms are spacey, very nice and a comfy quiet night sleep. Grounds and parking lot are well taken cared of. Check in was quick. Enough parking to accommodate their guest. Breakfast was tasty. I will definitely return here again.

Nice place

Most of LA is a dump now but this place is nice. Clean rooms, friendly staff that let us park our car there and check in early. Free breakfast and parking. The place was secure too.

I don’t have anything good to say about this property other than they have an agreement to give you free breakfast with the place next-door. That’s about it.

Very nice room. Was surprised at the size of it! It was wasted on us since we were only sleeping there, but it had a full kitchen and dining area with a sitting area as well.

The hotel staff is great, very welcoming! The room is spacious , clean and has nice amenities, good size of tv, cable and wi-fi connection. however the mattress is very uncomfortable and right side sinks. Also the walls definitely need fresh paint. Good location only 3 minutes from metro station and free parking is a big plus!

I was nearly denied the reservation because they require a credit card for deposit, my debit card won’t be enough. The manager reluctantly allowed me to rent, but explained that my reservation clearly said I would need a credit card. I don’t recall seeing that when I booked the room

It was a central location and a great price

Aside from the paper thin walls, this place was lovely to stay. Staff were very accommodating, allowing us to check in early after a very long flight. Room was very private and even though renovations were underway, staff worked so hard to keep as discreet as possible. Housekeeping kept the room clean. Very impressed, would book again.

I got the big room I was surprised it came with sofa big refrigerator with ice inside.vey nice room.what I didn't like is that the floor are so squeaky when you walk.theres a broken speed boat by my window.and mosquito flying around inside the room.i need to chase it.i heard mosquito bring diseases

Hotel in a good location. Too many smokers! The whole place smelled like smoke and there are canisters of overflowing cigarette butts near the entrance. I loved having a pool, but swimming in an unheated pool in the morning was uncomfortable. Housekeeping (Lesbia!) was great.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was extremely convenient for exploring LA, without being in a noisy, tourist-filled area. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite type room in an adjacent building. Liked it so much we stayed an additional night!
