Great hotel, super value!

Breakfast was great, lots of variety and very delicious. Staff are polite, kind, and helpful. Room is clean and comfortable. Location is not too far from a subway station! Overall, happy I stayed here and would come again.

5 min walk to the metro. The room is quite big

Enjoyed my stay for 3 nights. This hotel is next to Suzhou Riverband and very convenient to get access Metro and DiDi service. It has a beautiful Suzhou River view, quiet yet close to many shops. Breakfast is good but less variety.

Very nice location and nice service

Worn out hotel, with damaged leaking bathroom, rooms and hallways smell of cigarettes, growing mold on carpet around bathroom. No facilities, terrible breakfast, no place to buy and enjoy food or even a drink. Reception staff use a translator app to communicate the bare minimum.

Enjoyed stay next to Suzhou River Band

Next to the Suzhou River Band near WuNing Bridge, beautiful. Night view is incredible in non raining day. There is a foreigner friendly bar/food area near the bridge. Many people walk and run along the river. Love it. The breakfast could be improved. Pretty basic.

The hotel is in a very convenient location and close to the metro station. The buffet breakfast is quite nice.

This property is very close to Subway Line 11 and 13, and 1 subway stop away from Subway Line 2 (Jiang Su Rd), which makes it very convenient to get to the major tourist sites. I enjoyed the free breakfast, which included freshly-made ramen noodle soup, wontons, as well as an assortment of steamed buns and hot dishes like eggs and fried rice. The property itself is slightly on the older side, but they provided free bottled and hot water at the entrance and great service. I was also grateful for the on-site laundry room, which is not always available in Chinese hotels. Overall, we stayed for 7 nights and look forward to coming back again soon.

This property does not communicate in English. This property allows three adults to share a room, but the room is too small to add a roll away bed.

Sufficient for a few nights.

It was a decent stay at Holiday Inn Express. Took me about an hour plus from Pudong to get there via the trains. It’s clean and is a simple place for a few nights. Didn’t explore much around the surrounding area but there is a train station about 10 mins away and fairly easy to get a didi (car app). They don’t have a large breakfast spread.

not reliable staff

this hotel included free breakfast & we stayed 1 night. i requested breakfast to go when booked with hotel.com. i confirmed with front desk[able to speak in some english] to have breakfast to go next early morning as we were taking early train when checked in morning. same day early evening another front desk staff told me kitchen closed already cannot do that. ???room service not available too??? if staff told us when we checked in then we could have prepared our own food. room very small, quiet, walkable to metro

Avoid this hotel

Terrible hotel, terrible breakfast, rude staff and barely speaks English, rooms smell of humidity, location is not so good, nothing in the surrounding area, major construction ongoing in the morning during our stay (July 2018), we were not notified about the construction before booking, scaffolding we're blocking the window view, no room service you can't order no food to the room, vending machines doesn't offer much choice, don't recommend to anyone, AVOID AT ALL COST

Hotel is located on River, about 10 minutes walk to Metro and shopping, includes Carrefour. Staff was great, room clean and comfortable. Only downside was the walk to the metro, need to take some stairs up and down. Nice walk along River across from the hotel.

Decent hotel, nothing special

nothing special - standard Holiday Inn Express product not too different from what you would expect in the USA except it's in China. As expected, limited English ability at the front desk. Not much in the neighborhood. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere about a 10 minute walk from the nearest metro (LONDGE metro stop on line 11) If coming from the airport via public transportation, do NOT rely on the Google Maps instructions as they are wrong. You take Line 2, change @ Jiangsu Road to Line 11. About a 10-15 min walk, there is the IMAGO shopping center where there is a basement food court. Not bad - Mr Kang's fried dumplings was good. Otherwise, there didn't seem to be any other options for eating nearby. Breakfast consisted of standard Chinese breakfast cuisine with some western breakfast items like cereal, a toaster and surprisingly decent coffee. Unlike the Holiday Inn Expresses in the US, there was no pancake machine, unfortunately! :)

The room was comfortable enough. I went to reception to ask for more coffee sachets. The issue was no one spoke English and they were all really young. They said they couldn't give me any coffee. Brekky was in the restaurant but was mainly Chinese and was cold. No bathroom door and a mirror opposite so anyone in the room can see who is on the toilet. As far as location it is out of the way. We used the subway. I found the staff quite rude and felt they were talking about us in their language and laughing at us. I wouldn't return

Comfortable, consistent, affordable.

Second time staying a Holiday Inn Express in China. Previously I had stayed in one in Beijing. The room was comfortable and the quality consistent with my previous experience. Rooms are designed and built to western standards. Room amenities are limited to the essentials. The hotel is relatively foreigner-friendly, with reception staff who can speak English. If you are a foreigner looking for affordable accommodation then I recommend paying slightly more for an international chain, like this, rather than choosing a cheaper local brand.

I would stay there again but would not book breakfast - not well cooked, and open dishes (e.g. salad) were open to flies. This is NOT acceptable.

My start point for Shanghai Disney vacation

I enjoyed my stay very much. I have IHG rewards, the per night room rate was great, and it was conveniently located on line 11 to Shanghai Disney. It is 17 stops direct to Disney park. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Putuo for the access to subway and I had $50/night. It was much cheaper than staying near Pudong or the park. I had a magical time!

Nice environment

The location is bit inconvenient and nothing to eat near this hotel but have more green around and nice environment. Rooms look clean but not maintain in good condition.

This is a nice little Holiday Inn Express and I'd stay there again. It is located in a serene, residential neighborhood, off of line 11 Longde subway stop. To get there, just go out exit 3 and hook a left on W. Guangfu. The staff was very nice and helpful. We booked a non-smoking room and when we got in, I noticed our room smelled a little smokey. This is a common problem in China. Guests will smoke even if told not to. Also, our safe wasn't working. I told the front desk staff about these two issues, who promptly fixed the safe and replaced the pillows (where the smell was coming from) with fresh ones. The only con I found about this hotel was the breakfast. It does favor the Chinese culture in terms of selection but that's OK. The problem was it wasn't very fresh. They have a noodle stand from 7:30-9:30 each morning, which I recommend. They also have a coffee machine which grinds coffee fresh for each cup. Very nice! Also, their fresh fruit is pretty good. But everything else (including the sunny-side up eggs) seemed like it was thrown into a microwave and then placed on a serving platter. They could improve the freshness and quality of the breakfast items the most. Everything else is fine. Peaceful and quiet place with good staff who can speak enough English to communicate with their guests.

AWOSME HOTEL ON A BUDGET

Had a business trip to SHanghai for a fair located at hongqiao convencion center and location was awsome. Hotel is OK very close to metro station and within 5 min walking distance to an upscale mall ehre you can find pretty much anything to eat. Very good location overall and very good price. Would stay there again without a doubt

Never Again!

Booked for 4 nights but only stayed for 3 due to a horrifying incidence occurred next door at mid-night, not too surprisingly, the Hotel management has denied all that had taken place including our conversation and the security check, etc. I am familiar with Shanghai and have lived in China for over 7 years, certainly there are plenty of better choices around.

weekend stay

This is not a hotel for family with children. Everything is just basic. No taxi would come in the hotel as it is too remote. or taxi driver need to Google the location. But the front desk staff tried to help

relatively quiet location along a river bank

helpful staff at the front desk. large interesting selection of foods for the breakfast buffet. an easy walk to the fast clean and efficient public metro system. easy walk in another direction to a very modern mall with a huge selection of restaurants, a movie theater and shopping. each night outside the mall in a small plaza many chinese couples would be ballroom dancing while nearby there was a pet walking/dog show. this is not a central location for tourist oriented activities but with reasonable taxi rates and the great metro and our love for walking it was fun to find our way wherever we wanted to go. we visited a park where people were practicing many kinds of martial arts and dance,ancient and modern temples, museums, galleries, theater, rode the ferry to the bund from the awesome skyscrapers across the river and tracked down and ate at a number of really delicious vegetarian restaurants in different parts of the city. its a great thriving energetic city.

Great hotel, not so great staff.

Great hotel, nice clean room. No help for foreigners though - no maps, no offers of help by staff, no brochures etc. Staff could have been more friendly and helpful. So...... great hotel, not so great staff. Breakfast good, more choices for Chinese guests but enough for foreigners to not go hungry. Close to Metro.

Nice and affordable hotel near downtown Shanghai.

Due to traffic, if a person is interested in primarily downtown activities I would stay closer in. The facility itself was well kept and I would recommend it to anyone on a budget. Food was decent and the rooms were clean and functional.

I enjoyed the stay at this hotel. Very friendly and good staff. Unfortunately no one can speak English. I wanted to extend another 5 more days stay but no one could understand me so I had to move to another hotel.

Balanced price/conditions

Reasonable price and very quiet. No bar or any other facilities. It is not the place for a long stay but very adequate for a stop by with a limited budget. WiFi & cable access to internet with no extra charge.

The hotel itself is a nice hotel. But hotels.com has it wrong on the map. We had a hard time finding the hotel because we were using the map that came from hotels.com. Do your homework and locate the hotel on your own. From metro station longde line 11, go towards the river and walk with the river towards the left. When you walk the river should be on your right and some shops on the left. It is a narrow quiet road and a little bit dark at night. The hotel is across the street from the river. The map has it wrong and puts the hotel away from the river. It is only a 10 minute walk from the metro. The road from the metro curves to the left so just follow the road and the hotel should be on your left hand side.

not pretty

ugly brown floor in bathroom; they have no city or subway maps to hand out; breakfast is really bad for a westerner. Hotel is actually not that far from subway- but hotel staff gives you absolutely no help to fine this out or tell you how to get there.

It's a little hard to find especially if you arrive at night. Service and breakfast we're good. Rooms are a little run down but the price is reasonable for what you get especially in Shanghai.

IT WAS GREAT. WE JUST NEED A PLACE TO SLEEP. THE PREVIOUS REVIEWS A LOT OF GUEST SAID IT WAS CLEAN. I DO NOT AGREE. THE FLOOR OF THE WASHROOM SEEMED LIKE NOT THOROUGHLY CLEANED. THE DOOR TO ENTER THE ROOM YOU CAN SEE THE MAP OF ALL THE FINGERPRINTS. WE STAYED FOR 3 NIGHTS AND THEY ONLY FIX THE BED AND REMOVE GARBAGE AND PUT NEW TOILETRIES BUT THE HOUSEKEEPER DID NOT CLEAN THE ROOM. THE SOAP TRACES IN THE BATHROOM ON OUR FIRST DAY OF USE IS THERE EVERYDAY ON THE DURATION OF OUR STAY AND WAS NEVER CLEANED BY HOUSEKEEPER. THE FRONT DESK PEOPLE HAVE VERY LIMITED IN ENGLISH WHICH YOU CANNOT ASK SIMPLE QUESTIONS.

Fantastic location, value for money!

Very nicely located for my purpose -- Formula 1 Shanghai. Metro 11 is just a 5 minute walk to the right. Very safe streets...Shopping malls and shops are just a 5 minute walk to the left....Very quiet neighborhood...The hotel accomodation is really value for money...I will definitely book at this hotel again (through Hotels.com - absolutely hassle-free)!

Clean Hotel in safe neighborhood

This hotel had a very good price and was much nicer than expected. Rooms were large and clean. Central air worked well. I had to stay here on 3 separate occasions within 2 weeks and one room had a nice view of the suzhou river. Service was good, I forgot to request a non-smoking room, and the front desk gave us a new room immediately. The location is residential The free breakfast was decent.

Secluded, Friendly, Calm, and Good for All

My mother and I stayed at this hotel for 10 days. It was a great location - not too far from the city and just a 7-minute walk to the Longde Road Metro Station. Across the Wuning Bridge one would find the Carrefour Super Market that had everything. It's about a 45-minute walk to the Jade Buddha Temple and other great malls in the Jing'an location. Other than location and price, we also struck out when we had the East-Wing View of the river and the beautiful picturesque Sky-rise residences across it. Every morning we had breakfast at the Great Room and it was a good space. The food was good but very repetitive after the third day. I would suggest a rotation of food - the hot dogs, rice, "Shanghai Flavor" and watermelons got tired very easily. It was better than street food though. The room was very modern; combination of high ceilings, the window was more like a window wall, the shower wall was a curved opaque glass and the bathroom features included a running water toilet (very handy), bowl sink and the door was also the shower door which was very convenient. There was one closet that included a hang-rail, a security box (so helpful!) and shelves. We were secluded until our last three days, all I can say that we could hear everything from our neighbors and hall. Also, people smoked by the elevator. Ew. Staff was a bit angry but that's how all Chinese respond in English (if able) they spoke okay english but the perfunctory "WHAT?!" was followed by helpful clarity.

holiday Inn excellent deal in that price

Holiday Inn is an excellent hotel with all the luxuries and facility of 3 star hotel. Free Wifi and breakfast is provided and all the rooms are very clean and some rooms have a river view which is a plus. Only point is it is around 15 mins walk to nearest Subway station(cayong Rd), otherwise an excellent hotel, full worth for your money.

Very Good Value

This was a great choice. Rooms and Hotel was modern and clean. Location was good, 3 blocks from Subway Sation 11 Longde Rd, In front of Beautiful river, 4 blocks away from Carefour and shopping 2 to 3 blocks away. Internet in rooms with cable and wireless in the Lobby. Breakfast was ok (Chinesse) Macdonalds, KFC 3 blocks away to the left of the entrance when you get out the door. Price was reasonable, better if booked in Hotels.com than in front desk

Standard but comfortable hotel

A relatively well maintained hotel at a quiet location. At walking distance to the MTR (subway), but far from central Shanghai. I stayed here several times and will come again soon.

Not far, 6 min. walk, from a metro station. Breakfast wasn't as good as what we had had at the Beijing HI Express.

Will never use it again

Why? It's hard to find, for taxi drivers or local drivers. When I tried to save energy by turning off the a/c from time to time, the smell from the drainage in the bathroom smelled BAD! by the way, I was on the 7th floor. One morning, I called for a taxi from my room. When I came down, I was told they couldn't get a taxi for me. I said: "WHAT? How am I supposed to get out of this place?"

it is a very good little hotel in Shanghai, the room is comfortable and clean, the price is very good, it include a free breakfast. the neighborhood is good if you walk to the right coming out of the hotel, it is not quite good if walk to the left.

great hotel , great service great experience

the hotel staff was most helpful and friendly . the hotel has a restaurant on site . good food . restaurant open till 10:30 pm . the surrounding neighborhood is very nice . there is a shopping center ,carrefour at walking distance . banks are close walking distance . hotel is far from the international airport pudong like in any city but manageable . the hotel is close to the national airport . i travel by taxi everywhere and the fare was quite reasonable . hotel has a laundromat , vending machines . this is a hotel which i highly recommend . the room are very very very clean .

Excellent value for money

I stayed in this hotel during my first visit to Shanghai and what a joy! The staff was very friendly and most of them (reception) was able to help me in English which was a huge struggle up to that point. The rooms are very comfortable and the food good. This is excellent value for money and I can honestly recommend them to anyone!

Not recommended if you could pay a little bit more for hotel room

Rooms were big and the queen bed can fit 3 adults. Dont expect any safe, minibar or iron for the price of the hotel. Its good price though considering breakfast is available. But if you stay 3 nights, that breakfast becomes harder to eat because it is the same. But the hotel does a good job of cleaning the hotel. It has also free internet in the business center which is very helpful. No printer though. Staff said you have to bring your own USB. Taxi/tricycle drivers have difficulty finding this hotel. better get a map/card of the hotel to make sure you get back there. Closest mall is at oakwood (10-15 minutes walk) which upscale and has Zara, supermarket, other restaurants. Also, Carrefour is 10-15 minutes walk. Nothing much to do around this area. It is quite.

"I would not hesitate to return"

Ya habiamos visitado este Hotel y nos parecio muy comodo, las tarifas son muy buenas, es muy agradable. Las paredes de los banos podrian estar mas limpias. Cuando uno va en familia podrian asignarnos habitaciones en el mismo piso a todos, esos seria bueno. Las personas en el escritorio frontal deben estar mas preparadas porque en dos oportunidades pedimos un mapa de la ciudad y nos indicaban que usaramos una muy grande que estaba en la pared del hotel y ese no nos lo podiamos llevar en nuestro bolsillo del pantalon y sabiamos que vendian un mapa de bolsillo por 5 yuanes y no se les ocurria ofrecerlo a los turistas hasta que de alguna forma le mostramos uno que anteriormente nos habian vendido y despues si nos lo ofrecieron. Recuerden que el mapa de la ciudad es muy importante para los turistas. El hotel esta muy bien ubicado muy cerca a la linea 11 del subway desde la cual podeos hacer transferencia a la linea 2 (Verde) y desde ahi llegar a muchos destinos de interes en la ciudad. Hay taxis esperando en entrada al hotel y el vecindario es muy bonito y agradable y esta recien remodelado todo el sendero por el rio que queda al frente, muy cerca queda Carrefour.

Terrible Evening of No Sleep

The hotel was clean enough for a Chinese hotel. It is in a strange, slightly hard to find location. The hotel staff was completely unhelpful with getting our luggage inside. The bathroom has a really cool design, but it is very cold in the winter. However, for the price this hotel is really not bad. [...] when we checked-in they said the hotel did not have any baby beds at all. So my husband, daughter and I spent a very, very sleepless night at this hotel. I am sure I would remember the stay in this hotel more fondly if they had actually had a baby bed, and we had gotten a good night sleep.

2 Night Stay

I was a little concerned prior to my arrival about the hotel because the price was too low. But it was exactly in the part of Shanghai where I needed to be. It was a litte hard to find, but it is very much like a US Holiday Inn Express. It's a clean basic hotel with a good level of service. Shanghai city is just a cab ride away. However, due to the remote location, cabs don't come by very often and never at peak periods. The hotel offers a shuttle to various places which is all a lot of people need. But if you have a meeting to attend at a certain time you better arrange different transportation. Other than the cab problem, I planned to have my laundry done on my second day there. I reminded the front desk when I left for the days a 7am. Upon my return the dirty laundry was still in m y room. The front desk was no help. The following morning I met the hotel manager while waiting for a cab. I told him of my laundry problem. He was very apologetic. After waiting 30 minutes without a cab, the manager decided to take me to my meeting in the hotel's shuttle. I appreciated his over the top service. He even followed up with a few more apology E-mails. The next time I need to stay in that part of town I will stay there.

Im Stehen Wasser und Tee ausreichend und Kostenfrei zumb verfügen. Die Zimmern wurden Täglich gereinigt und mit frischen Handtücher ausgestattet. Die U- Bahn Haltestellen sind in wenigen Gehminuten zu erreichen. Fazit: für meinen nächsten Besuch in Shanghai werde ichb dieses Hotelbwieder buchen.

Plutôt à éviter

On m'a donné une chambre standard alors que j'avais réservé une chambre supérieure car il n'y avait pas de chambre supérieure qui ne puait pas la cigarette... Le personnel ne parle pas anglais et n'a pas cherché à nous apporter la moindre information. Petit déjeuner très moyen. Emplacement sans rien à proximité, quartier résidentiel.

프론트 직원이 불친절했습니다. 영어로 의사소통하기도 어려웠습니다. 주숙등기가 제대로 됐는지 확인하는 것이 그렇게 짜증낼 일인지 모르겠네요. 그리고 다른 숙박객이 화장실에서 담배를 피웠는지 담배냄새가 났습니다. 지하철과 가까워서 좋았지만 다시 가고싶지는 않네요.

ビジネスでの利用。地下鉄駅から徒歩10分程であったが周辺がマンションなどでコンビニや繁華街に少しアクセスが悪かった。駅の反対側に10分ほど歩けばコンビニやショッピングビルがあった。朝ご飯バイキングであったが味がほとんどしなかった。中国はあのような味付けなのか？

シャワー水圧が低い。ホテル案内やテレビ番組表など全く無し。ランドリーサービスは自分でフロントに持ち込み、引取りで価格が高い。冷蔵庫がない。特に夏場には泊まれないと思う。

概ね高い上海ではリースナブルな価格でしたが、価格相応と言うところでしょう。シャワーの水圧が弱い、シャンプー、リンス、ボディーソープは一体型のボトルが一本、テレビチャンネル案内は無し、クリーニング代は高めで、出来上がってもフロントまで自己申請で受け取りに行く、驚いたのは冷蔵庫が無かったこと。夏場は問題ではないか？これらを気にしなければ比較的に安価でいいのではないでしょうか？
