Great hotel for what we needed

Modt everything was great about the stay. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was good. Most staff were friendly and helpful. There were a couple who it seemed like to look busy and meant we had to wait to be served at the bar/front desk The only gripe we had was the drainage in the shower was incredibly slow so the tray filled up quite quickly and sould still have a bit of water in the bottom when the next person went in making it a tad slippery

Pillows are bricks, mattress is s backbreaker. Over crowded. Ridiculous room price.

Modern hotel, lovely big bed. Breakfast good only negative was tables weren't getting cleared and people couldn't get seated

Overall is good

Good overall. Plumbing is bad , you can hear the waste discharging water from other rooms. Air quality is okay but need improvement. Breakfast good. Staff polite and helpful

Great little hotel, very clean and comfortable. Only down side was the dodgy vending machine without giving product and the evening meal of basic quality. Breakfast was included and was good.

The hotel was lovely and clean, staff where helpful and friendly. If i was going to say negative is the sofabed ways a little hard. But it did the job.

Great location for events at Excel was reason for booking. Nice clean shower room and good pillows as i can often get neck ache in hotels Whilst the food at breakfast was plentiful and tasty it wasnt very hot after carrying back to our table All the staff we dealt with were helpful and friendly

Perfect hotel if you want to be close to the airport.

We chose this site due to its proximity to London City Airport. We were pleasantly surprised! The reception staff was incredibly helpful, as our mobiles were not working and my luggage did not make the transatlantic flight. I am certain I did not adequately express my gratitude for their great assistance, kindness, and understanding. We highly recommend this facility.

Territory customer service

Needed to change due to booking error. Whilst not commercially required to accommodate property manager showed no flexibility to move dates a week later at a higher price. Charged in full even though they knew the room wasn’t required and could have been resold. I’m an IHG Gold customer. Will not be using IHG again.

Cheap and Cheerful!

Stayed for London Comic Con. Great location just a short walk from the DLR or a 15 minute walk along the dockside to ExCel. Staff were very friendly and loved seeing all the cosplays. Room was clean, bed was comfy with a choice between hard and soft pillows, although there wasn’t really much space for storage. Included breakfast covered all the essentials; choice of hot food, cereals, fruits, and pastries. Overall very good value for money and will definitely consider staying here again for the next Comic Con.

The property is next to London City Airport which is great if you're a plane fanatic! It can be rather loud at times but planes are only around until 21:30 ish each night. It is extremely close to the DLR which links to the underground. Free breakfast which is ok and meets your needs. Comfortable beds and nice decor. Overall a good stay, would go back if needed.

Good transport links into London - bathroom had some mould in shower area but not a deal breaker! Breakfast was tasty and lots on offer. Would happily stay again.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. Friendly staff, 2 minutes walk to DLR station, nice view of London City Airport yet no noise problems. I've read some reviews that said its too loud. It's not! The rooms are sound proofed and the lobby is nice and peaceful and breakfast area and breakfast itself are faultless. They even prepared vegan sausages as my wife only likes those.

Sofa bed was not setup properly. Uneven. Bump in it. Didn’t sleep at all. Terrible.

Good choice!

Room was good, seemed all clean. Check-in was very friendly, though worth bearing in mind they put a £50 deposit hold on your card at check-in that lasts up to a couple weeks. Location is good, airport noise not as well kept out as I'd like, but not an issue at night. Only dissapointment, I requested a wake-up call which never came, so double check that if you'll really need one.

Rooms are very small.

Concert visit

Really happy with the hotel. Hd tuffet breakfast which gaff a wide variety of hot and cold food. Staff very friendly and helpful. Provided a breakfast bag to take with us on the second day as we left very early.

I booked a room at 2am on the early morning if the 22nd through this app which was showing bookings for the night of the 21st still and which I needed. I was told at reception that my booking was for the evening of the 22nd not the 21st as advertised then turned away to have no where to sleep for the night. When checking the booking the next day it said I had missed the booking as it was for the 21st

Comfortable clean hotel with good breakfast

Great hotel - it is a trek outside of London and ten miles from Kings Cross but the Elizabeth Line and DLR make it accessible and convenient. Breakfast is good. Rooms comfortable clean and tidy. Some noise from the nearby airport but that’s to be expected given the location. We would stay again though it’s a bit too far out for a weekend in central London hit price drove our decision to book here as it’s far cheaper than city centre hotels. DLR is 5 minute walk away.

Excellent convenient place for stay

The staff were very welcoming and gave lots of information on arrival. The breakfast was not great as both hot beverages and the hot breakfast were cold.

We have stayed in this hotel before and not experienced any issues. Mostly this stay was good but there were a few administrative issues and the manager would not take responsibility. At one stage he suggested that, within our party of 6 rooms, we had ‘mixed up’ our room keys. After spending a great deal of time I thought correcting errors over lengths of stay, check out dates etc I left the hotel for a few hours. When we returned our room had been checked out. He insisted I must have had my room key next to my phone. However, the second key which hadn’t left the room also failed to operate. Housekeeping were constantly knocking on our door to check us out both on the right day and the wrong day. They would all benefit from some refresher training. Although we have found the same issues in several of the holiday inn express hotels. Staff are unaware of room service times, food service times or check out arrangements.

Outside of Central London yet within 3 minutes' walk to tube station, spacious vicinity, clean air, helpful hotel counter staff, room of reasonable size.

The location is few (5 minutes) walk from the tube station and nice area to walk along the Royal Albert Quay by the Thames river.

Comfortable & clean

Room had everything we needed; hairdryer, iron, kettle & coffee - hand soap, shower gel & shampoo were a nice touch!! Breakfast was super!!

Lovely hotel, exceptional service

Another good stay!

This is my second state at the Holiday Inn and once again it was great! Check-in was quick and easy, parking was plentiful, food and service were all excellent. I stayed in a standard double room and the room was clean and fresh. My only issue was, with it being so warm and me being situated on the third floor, the air-conditioning units on the roof were incredibly loud and kept me awake for most of the night. I understand that this is probably, unavoidable but just wanted to make anyone aware, it can get quite noisy! Despite this I will stay again, might take some earplugs next time though!

Store at Holiday Inn Excel

The accommodation was excellent and clean. The negative was there was 4 pods of milk in the room for 2 people and when I asked for some more milk for the room I was told by receptionist milk was short so I couldn’t have any. I am disappointed that this could not be addressed.

Near to DLR which enables you to gain access to London and City Airport. Reception staff very engaging and quick to provide service. Room was very clean and shower was amazing. I would certainly come back to this hotel.

Nice hotel for stop over before a flight or use of the Excel centre. Ordered food from the bar/restaurant, lovely gentleman sever, the food sadly terrible. Breakfast was average. You get what you pay for. Cheap and cheerful, The staff are excellent. But the food lets them down.

Clean, quiet and great breakfast!! Super location for the o2 arena and not too expensive. Closest DLR station was closed however the walk to the next was only 15mins. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Excellent location

The staff were very helpful when I arrived at the hotel to find my reservation had not been sent, a worry as this was a busy weekend. positives were how close the hotel was to to the DLR so easy to get around. The breakfast was good, though some items ran out. The room was spacious and comfortable. The negative is the housekeeping, I hung my towels each day to find them replaced. The second night I left the green stay card on the door to find the room had been cleaned

I arrived art this hotel and the service from the check i young Lady whose name means peace in English was the best service I have ever experienced. Her attitude for such a young woman made me humbled. She went out of her way to ensure that a booking that was late , was resolved , and convinced me that I will only use this hotel when I visit London in the future. Congratulations to the Hotel , you are a credit to the Holiday Inn.

Very clean and very good location

The property didn’t provide us water bottles and this room was booked for 2 people but toiletries were available for 1 guest only including bath and other towel. There was no quilt available for the second guest as well. We had to go to the reception to get the missing items for the second person.

Hotel is very well situated location wise for going to the excel- about a 15 min walk. Room was spacious and bed was comfy, the breakfast was great. Really enjoyed our stay and would come back here for future events.

Didn’t sleep at all. The the extractor fans are relentless. It’s l ike having a jet engine in your bedroom. Can’t turn them off

Location was fantastic, the hotel itself was great but the foldout bed was broken and the room was too noisy both with other guests and a whistling fan that we couldn't turn off. Overall I'd stay here again but perhaps not with kids.

Good stay

A good hotel. Room was ready at the time of check-in, with the sofa bed all set. ample towels kept on standby. On site parking for extra charge, charged per day. A good alternative to explore London due to the DLR station next door and tube station nearby Breakfast is as always not a disappointment :)

Comfortable well designed hotel close to DLR and walkable to city airport.

Really liked our stay. Just a note, its a lil scarce around the area for facilities but the ease of access to the DLR makes up for it.

stayed here whilst visiting the comic con event for a couple of days as transport was ideal. Staff where all friendly and helpful with a great breakfast selection in the mornings. The only downsides was the shower had a fairly weak water pressure so it took forever to was my long hair! The pillows provided were really uncomfortable! I woke up every morning with a stiff neck as the pillows felt like they had golf balls in them they were so clumpy

Great location, friendly helpful staff, good value

General stay was pleasant and comfortable. There was a foul smell of sewage in the corridor before we entered our room on 3rd floor. But other than that, the room didn't smell. AC control was limited, and when I switched off it still made ventilation noise. Breakfast was included and was as expected. Good quality and plenty of it.

Comfortable and convenient

Good hotel and couldn’t complaint but the staff were terrific. Reception were so helpful booking us in and guiding us to our destination. Evening bar and restaurant were great and very welcoming. Rest of staff were smiling and greeted us. Most of these hotels are all the same but the staff sealed it for us, thank you.

Great 2 night stay. Clean and comfortable room and lovely breakfast. Location was great for visiting the ABBA arena, and also central London. A little out of the centre, but very quiet. Would certainly stay again

The parking charge is high since we we were booked considering the parking was free. we had struggled with booking - although we booked two rooms, only one was showing up in the system.

NOT QUITE GUEST FRIENDLY

Convenient and modern

Very well placed for travelling into the centre of London as there is a DLR station 5 mins walk away. Also a small park across the road directly opposite London City airport which is about a 2 minute drive away as well. The room was clean and modern. The only gripes I had were the kettle didn't work unless you twiddled it around on its base, and although the bed was huge there was no bedside table on my side to put jewellery, phone, glasses etc. I had to use our coolbox. Having said that I would stay here again if coming to London, it's a nice hotel. Free breakfast also very good. You can also park a car for £16 a day in a safe place behind the hotel.
