Hotel and staff where great, Plenty of choice for breakfast which was included in our stay for free. If you're coming for the Christmas Markets be aware hotel is a 20min cab ride from them and city centre.

Short walk to tram stop, road gets noisy from 6am so don't plan to stay in. Bed is comfortable.

The hotel location mentioned open the website is much further away from attractions and exhibition centre than suggested on the website

The room was a bit small for a family room, but as we were staying just one night it didn’t matter too much.

This hotel was very convenient to Cologne and Bonn. The hotel was clean and welcoming. The free breakfast was delicious. The umbrella rental was wonderful as it was raining outside those days. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

The air conditioning was not cool at all. It was cooler in the hallway than in our room. Room was stifling. Staff member tried to help and checked all of our settings but said that was the best it would get

Basic but Good

Better room size than the same hotel in Munich the previous week. Other than that, pretty similar. Neighbourhood possibly not the best but not too far to walk for a tram (10 mins).

Nice, clean and modern hotel. Although the bed is nice and comfy, the sofa bed isn't. You can feel every bit of metal underneath the thin mattress. Breakfast spread could be better - perhaps more halal options. About 15-20 minutes drive to center of Cologne.

Short city break

Hotel in a great location by car and also a short (10/15 minute) walk to the nearest metro station to then then explore the more central area of Cologne. The hotel breakfast was excellent and for further food/goods there is a McDonalds next door and a petrol station with a well stocked shop.

Good stay bar size of the room

The hotel is very welcoming and I could not fault the staff. The lobby, bar and breakfast area is good and despite what others have said about the lack of hot food, we really liked the breakfast on offer. My kids especially enjoyed the pancake machine. However, I should have paid more heed to other reviews about the family rooms being small. We are two adults and two kids 7 and 5, and the family room was totally cramped, we could not move between or around the beds and there was next to no space for our stuff. The location is a little out of town but we had no problems using public transport and there was a McDonalds beside the hotel and a very good German restaurant around the corner.

It was the best location for my one night trip to Leverkusen!

Close to main road routes. Tram, train, and buses nearby for city travel. Room had everything needed - good shower, nice towels, shampoo & soap, tv, coffee & tea, face tissues, ironing board, hair dryer. Buffet breakfast served through a large window of time - pancakes fabulous. Vending machine for late night snacks, ice dispenser for those drinks. Fuel station right next door ( McDonalds too if you like that sort of thing). 24 hour access for the late nights out.

Good hotel when visiting Cologne. It’s a little out of the city 15 mins by taxi but still a convenient base.

1 night family trip during a tour of Europe. Very clean and welcoming hotel. Location is a bit out on a limb and reception weren’t great with the advice of transport to the centre. Beds were a little hard, but overall absolutely fine for a 1 night stay

They said that they have AC and they do not. One day we wanted to take a shower and there was no hot water. One day the elevator was broken

A+++.. i highly recommend this hotel. It felt classy as soon as i stepped into reception. The staff are at the top end of hospitality.. very professional and very accommodating.. so a big thank you to them. Very safe in these times of Covid.. they obviously have put a system in place to ensure their guest are safe and yet comfortable. The rooms are extremely clean and what i really liked was the clever way they have designed the bathroom to be able to swing the door and have a private area to use the toilet. Great layout.. very smart and well designed.

Room is very hot

The air condition in the 2 rooms wasn’t working well we complained and they changed one of the room but there is no improvement. The weather was very hot we couldn’t sleep at night. Very disappointed

Dusty. No extra sheets or pillow cases for our pullout. Check in was awful. Random person with no id badge attempt to help me but I was reluctant to give any information. Then the actual worker came out I told him this random person with no badge tried helping me but the worker wasn't concerned. A/c was warm. We stayed in June and the room was so hot the a/c didn't work. No room service. Asked for extra bath towels and we only got hand towels. All very disappointing.

It’s about what you’d expect from a motel. Our purpose was to find a place to overnight close to the airport without any frills and at low cost and it’s precisely what we got. The women at the front desk were very helpful in recommending restaurants and organizing a cab to the airport. The room was decent. The breakfast could have been better. We’re typically used to having a few additional hot protein items such as sausages or bacon or scrambled eggs. The juice was a bit watered down and the breads were stale. Better than nothing, but by a hair’s breadth. Nevertheless, if you can get a good rate, then I would recommend this for a place to crash the night before traveling onto your next destination.

3 night family break

Modern and clean hotel with really helpful reception staff Housekeeping staff in the mornings were very pleasant and always spoke or acknowledged us which I thought was quite surprising but nice. Breakfast selection is very good. Location fine if you have a car or are using public transport (as we were). Only negative was the room for 4 is not really big enough for 4 (unless a family with really young children) so we booked an extra room for our teenagers.

Everything clean, all staff very very helpful and polite. Facilities good.

Apart from very small free parking (there is another, much bigger but not free) it's a very nice B&B with very welcoming staff. Family rooms could be slightly bigger as it's tricky to walk inside when sofa is transformed to bed.

It was good overall. Just the area does not look safe. There are plenty of parking spaces juts next to the hotel but we had no choice but to pay for the hotel parking. Given the parking situation, it should not be charged.

First time in Cologne

The hotel itself was convenient as there was four of us staying and found it easy that we were all in one room across two double beds however this can get cramped and messy. The staff were very friendly and loved that breakfast was included. There is a big variety of food however we felt it was not regularly topped up. Considering this was a buffet breakfast we sometimes found ourselves waiting for bread etc as it had ran out. We stayed from Friday-Monday and During our breakfast on Monday, the staff had packed up all the food 15 mins before end of breakfast which we thought was unfair! Also parking is limited so we found ourselves parking on the side road as we did not want to pay. With a car it was very eat to get around Cologne and even visit other cities like Düsseldorf. We would definitely return to the hotel if we came back to Cologne again.

I didn't go there to sit in a hotel room but the room was clean and very pleasant. It was important how the hotel atmosphere and hotel staff. I recommend with a pure heart. The meals were very good and the service very nice. It was worse with hotel guests.

The hotel is located in a good quite place. It’s very close to public transport and many restaurants in the area. On average the staff are good and helpful. How ever the cleaning team need a bit more supervision.

The sofa bed is terrible. I’m writing my review while sleeping on the floor as I couldn’t share the sofa bed . It’s uncomfortable and squishy. They shouldn’t advertise the room for 4 people it’s maximum 3 .

We have stayed here several times, and this is our first complaint. Our room was very warm and did not cool during the night as air conditioner did not seem to work.

Nice stay overall

It was nice to have free breakfast and staffs were very kind and friendly. But the room was small for a family and so dusty that my children and I sneezed a lot. The hotel is at a busy street but it wasn’t noisy. It was nice to have a McDonald’s right next to the hotel.

A Good hotel. Location is a bit out of town, but as in most urban areas in Germany, a tram or train is never too far away. In this case, a tram is about 10 minutes walk away @ Berliner Strasse. The area in parts is a bit run down and there are parts of Mulheiim that you wouldnt venture into late at night, although to be fair, there are other parts of Mulheim that are lively and more safe. The hotel is basic but good, the rooms were small and our TV didn't work but was quickly fixed by staff. There is a Mc Donalds next store so it's handy for kids/families or just when you need a junk food hit. The breakfast was excellent with a massive selection of choices. Reception staff were friendlly and very knowledable. Worth a stay if you can get a good deal, but other more central locations may be worth a look at if your paying top dollar. Enjoy.

The hotel was in a good location, good commute and helpful staff

Very clean hotel, spotless rooms. Made the mistake of booking this when intending to book Cologne, but 5 mins walk from the nearest tram stop so fairly convenient.

Family stay

Everything was great except the family room was a bit small if you use the sofa bed. Breakfast was great. Be aware that it takes at least 22 euros by taxi and a little less by tram, but the walk to the tram station is at least 1 km or 8 to 10 euros by taxi.

the room had a strange smell to it and was way too small for a family of 4. it was also too far from downtown.

Tiny room above reception and next to lift! Local homeless people and guests smoking on bench directly below room meant noise 24/7 and the cigarette smoke coming through windows, air con didn’t work so had to choose between air (smoky) or cooking!! Duvet did not stay on bed, toilet door banged, breakfast not replenished at weekend so by 10.00 everything gone despite breakfast advertised until 11.30. Staff neither friendly nor rude just there.

Second Holiday Inn Express I use overall. They pretty much maintain similar standard across countries. Great looking hotel, clean simple decorated rooms. There aren't any drawers or cabinets, but some shelves and hangers. For a family of 4, with the sofabed expanded, it leaves little space to move, let alone store your luggage. But we managed. As an Express hotel, they have simple decent breakfast included, but no dinner options. McDonalds is just outside the hotel, but you it's horrible service. Since the rooms are small, you would want to walk 5-10 mins for restaurant areas. Inconvenience if you come back late and tired. Still overall lovely hotel. But I feel I should get more space for the price I'm paying.

We had three nights at the Holiday Inn Express Muelheim. The hotel was great value for money and superb base for 3 days to explore cologne with a car.Whilst I may have missed this point in the description, parking was charged at 10 euros per night which I feel was unnecessary given we were not in a prime city location.The area is a mixture of residential and commercial with a convenient McDonalds/ McCafe next door. The hotel was immaculately clean with the staff very efficient and welcoming. The inclusive continental breakfast was a bonus and items were constantly replenished, in addition, the offer of complementary iced water in reception was a lovely touch an much appreciated in the hot weather. The rooms were as expected with a fold out sofa bed as the second bed, but it was not at all comfortable and having stayed in the B&B Hotel nearby which provide bunk beds in the same week, we would choose that option next time for space and comfort.for a family of four.Also, whilst the room had conditioning, it had limited effect at the time we were there that said, it was very hot and given the price paid for the room you have to be realistic in your expectations.

Clean, with a great breakfast

This is a great place for a stop over. We use it as a halfway point on our drive. We have stayed here 3 times, and each time we have a clean room that’s right off the autobahn and has a great breakfast in the morning.

Clean and like new condition, room is tight for 4 people with one bathroom. Very good breakfast included with the room cost

HOLIDAY INN KOLN MULHEIM STAY

The hotel was very helpful by way of providing me an early check-in. The staff was courteous and helpful in giving me local guidance. We expected a slightly bigger room and a little more amenities like a cupboard, a locker in our room given the branding of HOLIDAY INN. So the room did not feel plush like a Holiday Inn room. Breakfast was par but not elaborate.

Good hotel but bad service from Hotels.com

The hotel was quite good however I did have a major problem with Hotels.com I booked a room for two nights with the understanding (from a Hotels.com promotional email) that I would receive credit for three nights towards a voucher for a free night. However, I only received credit for two nights. I tried ringing customer help but they were unable to resolve the issue. Very disappointed with Hotels.com

Clean and comfortable

Clean, really comfortable bed, some UK tv channels, beds made daily, sheets changed twice in 4 days. Decent breakfast til 10am or 11:30am at the weekend. 10 minute walk to Berliner St where tram links get you around the city quickly and efficiently.
