Nice affordable hotel for a quick stay. Friendly staff and bus stops within 5mins walk. However, very concerned about the homeless situation around this block, very concerned.

Clean property. Well maintained interior & exterior. Have experienced much friendlier staff during previous stays. Surrounding areas are a bit of an eyesore, but I’m confident that will change soon. Proximity to the UT campus is a definite plus.

Checked in late and left early the next day, but was very pleased with staff and hotel. Breakfast was good. Bed was comfy.

Very convenient to 6th street and local areas. We went to Esther’s Follies for NYE and walked from Hotel. Check in was very pleasant- warm welcome from Karl and Kayla was super friendly. Free breakfast was really good! I highly recommend this hotel.

Convienent hotel near everything. Area is a little rundown and lots of Homeless sleeping outside of the hotel.

The hotel itself was very clean, very friendly staff with excellent service. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was nice. But i could not get to sleep before midnight each night because of the noise. I brought my own white noise machine, and not even that AND the television on helped.

Great service and amenities. Close to our event. Wish parking was included, not an extra since we were staying at the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Did not get room service despite asking for it before we left for the day. Got back at 330 & has to ask again saying we were next after 45 minutes still not five so has to ask a third time. Wasn’t done till after 530pm

I came to Austin to check out the comedy mothership and to see what Austin had to offer for nightlife. You’re employees were all friendly and helpful the pool area was clean and relaxing I had a great time learning about the surrounding neighborhood and I will definitely be back

Very nice stay.

The stay was very nice and comfortable. I liked that the hotel was downtown, but I was not very happy about the 35.00 dollars a day parking, 20.00 would have been a little more reasonable. The breakfast was delicious and very filling.

Only complaint was that the bar next door was loud until 2 am every night. Nothing the hotel could really do about it, just might want to change rooms if you are sensitive to sounds. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great location for walking to a football game.

Good “on a budget” hotel

We enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Express Austin Downtown. The pros - it is in a convenient location, lots of restaurants within walking distance, the room was clean, bed very comfortable, breakfast delicious, staff friendly, affordable rates. Cons - some significant stains on the carpet in the hallways, some of our electrical outlets didn’t work in our room, the holders for the soap and shampoo dispensers we’re not actually attached to the wall. These things are not all that Important to me but might be to others. Overall a good hotel and we would stay there again if we return to Austin.

I was charged $80.96 more than my confirmation from Expedia showed my total to be. i asked the hotel employee why and I was told i would have to ask Expedia.. i do not appreciate being lied to. And furthermore, on Black Friday when I booked this hotel through Expedia, parking was said to be included at $20 per day but we had to pay each time we left and returned to the parking garage. This was my first time booking through Expedia and it will most certainly be my last.

I had a terrible experience. I paid for my stay in advanced; however, when I went to claim my right, they told me tht I was not able to check in becaue I was underge, I am 19, and I had to find another place to stay. I want a refund. My name is Camila Carrillo . The told me I had to claim to hotels .com.

The place was clean and the staff was friendly. The hotel was easy to find. The only complaint was the parking. You had to pay $40 for parking for one day stay. I thought that was very steep. All in all I had a great experience.

Not worth the money

For the price of the room, the condition of the property was better than the room. There were only 2 large towels in the bathroom, there was no floor mat or towel for getting out of the shower, the floors were not vacuumed well at all, not only the room but the hallways the same piece of trash was there all 3 days we stayed. When we asked for extra towels, they were in the room when we came back, but the towels had strings hanging from them. Those are the same type of towels I use to dry my truck off with. There was absolutely no water pressure at all. My wife took extra time to rinse her hair out, which naturally no one wants to hear complaining. I put the chair in the middle of the room to see if it would be placed back under the desk when the room was cleaned. When we returned, the chair was still in the middle of the room where I left it. The last day our trash was not even taken out of the room, not that there was a lot, but still how hard is it to take the trash out. To say the least, we will not be staying there again on the next visit to Austin.

Great location to 6th stree festivities and eateries. Good comfortable hotel. I was not aware there was a cost for parking, I must have not read that when booking so include that in your overall cost of staying there.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was amazing and super nice, and the hotel was top notch. The breakfast was delicious. It was very quiet, we never even heard people in the halls. We were a little worried about the homeless shelter close by but we never once felt unsafe and they had security on site. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again in the future.

Staff friendly and helpful but facility is old. Wall in my bathroom was peeling up in one area. There are no electronic chargers for phones in the rooms. Parking is in the basement- takes much longer to get cart to get travel items then go down to basement. There is a 15 minute parking in the front to unload making it ok if you just need to let people out of the car.

I attempted to cancel this 3 night trip due to a death in the family. Expedia attempted to call the property without success. I attempted to cancel the room 654 EST, which should have been a click to cancel but it required a phone call and no one answered. When contacted it was a little after 7 EST and missed the deadline by a few minutes and a flawed process costed me over a lot of money. Even after cancelling I was charged the entire stay without even checking in. I am an IHG member and I know booking third party changes services, but this is a major disservice. To have to fly out of state and book another hotel for a funeral and still have to call the property for a refund because I was charged when I didn’t check in seems dishonest and disheartening. I would hope that this doesn’t happen to another customer. Being charged for the property lack of responsiveness in horrible customer service. Working with expedia the property agreed to give to refund 2 nights that I was charged, which I am grateful for.

The staff really need to up their customer service. We don't need looks and attitude. If someone is being friendly and courteous, reciprocate. Don't shut their mood down. I wish they would have been friendlier

We came into Austin for the Interpol Concert. The hotel was conveniently located right down Red River to the Moody amphitheater, so walking by was a great option to the concert and to restaurants and clubs in the area. Very comfortable and somewhat quiet. The clubs in the area are loud and play Late into the night, so it’s not a knock on the Hotel (they do provide ear plugs). We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting downtown Austin.

Stayed one night here. Room was adequate and facilities were clean. Rochelle at the feont desk was super friendly and helpful.

I’ve stayed here before as it’s great rates and walkable to things. Unfortunately I had hats in the bathroom which lead to a bite as they were on towels. When reporting to the front desk, she said hmmm and that was kind of it. Again it’s a comfortable place for a budget, but the service is in line with that.

Wasn’t able to check-in on time after waiting in a long line of other guests, then. No TV remote, but they did bring it promptly after asking. The bathroom lights won’t work without flipping a switch on the outside of the bathroom. Housekeeping was great

Nice spot and close to music venues

It was a nice place to stay right in downtown so everything was easy to get too. It was clean and comfortable. The bed was big comfortable. The staff were very nice. The only things I'd have to say I didn't like were the parking situation and the refrigerator didn't appear to be working. Since we were only there for the one night the refrigerator wasn't a big deal but they should make sure to check it out for future guests. However, there were no clear signs to point out where you need to go to park. It was a bit confusing but thankfully we figured it out. Also the space trying to get in the parking garage was very tight and if you have a big vehicle you will have trouble. Also not more than one car at a time can get through the path to the garage. Overall though had a great experience and if I'd stay again.

This property was conveniently located right outaide of downtown Austin. Within walking distance of the Capital and entertainment options. There was a club a block away that had a live band. We rhought it would keep us up all night but it ended at a reasonable time.

Stayed for an overnight trip. Did not care for the parking, as it was in a sketchy, dark, unsafe underground parking garage 4 stories below the actual hotel. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Not good at all.

Everyone was friendly. Room was nice but just a couple of issues with the bathroom but not major. Breakfast was tasty but everything was cold but the coffee.

good overnight stay, decent breakfast, good coffee, nice pool area! Only had a little difficulty with the HVAC system, but overall a very nice stay.

People forget phone chargers, may be keep a few handy (or add usb charging dongles to rooms as many other HIE have). The person in reception was well behaved but not very useful.

Watch out for extra fees! (Parking & security)

Started out rocky. Should have been notified of high security deposit BEFORE swiping card! I also thought it was high and a bit ridiculous to have to pay extra for parking. However, very good location and cleanliness was great. Nice spot by the pool to sit as well.

Clean rooms

Had a lot of ants in our room. Felt itchy first night. Second night mentioned it and they did nothing. 3rd night said they would take care of it. Woke up the next day and seen more in bathroom and they finally moved us rooms.

It’s was very loud due to many drunken college kids yelling. The first night the yelling and hollering through the hall lasted past 5am. Keeping me up all night. The second and third night it was until 2 or 3 am

Parking

Booked a room in the interior of the property but was given one on the exterior. Open music bar across the street and they play until 1-2 am. Complained and asked to move rooms but was given ear plugs. Located in the same area as the homeless shelter and did not feel safe.

Front desk staff were extremely nice and helpful. I had a long travel day, so I decided to order room service… which was a really weird experience that I wouldn’t recommend. Otherwise great stay!

front desk staff was so kind, i can’t remember her name but we chatted for a few before checking in and she even upgraded our room! we would definitely stay here again!

Bathroom shower was not working properly. Iron board was in very bad condition.
