This was our second stay at the hotel. We really like the facility’s and the friendly staff
The breakfast buffet was amazing. Good sized pool with many lounging spots. Just walk a few steps to beach. Get a sea view- otherwise your balcony looks on to other buildings.
Nice hotel, good food , not far from airport so ideal for a short break. 3 pools one rooftop, one beach front and one indoor . Would stay again .
Lovely hotel, clean tidy and great breakfast also near restaurants and shops.
Good location, clean, good food at the restaurant. I was expecting a very friendly staff…especially at the restaurant… The room was very small for a couple I never saw a single napkin in the room… I never seen any hotel room that do not offer any appliances for coffee or tea, or even a hot water… my wife doesn’t drink a cold water and we had to go outside of the hotel in the other shops.
The beach is amazing but for miles in each direction there is nothing to walk to. It is just a lot of cheap souvenir shops and Spar shops. We were so pleased the hotel was excellent and we did not have to go out for a walk.
Staff was very polite and helpful….resort decor was very chill w/ beach/coastal vibe which was very conducive to relaxing…budget value for the food was excellent….not to mention the great cafe viennese…
They need to live it up a little bit more pool area music...and lobby bar at night other than that this place is Great. I'm very happy
N/a clean rooms properly next time
This Hotel is listed in Expedia website as an Adult Only hotel. That information is inaccurate. The hotel is family oriented and not exclusively for adults. Instead of a quiet relaxing atmosphere that I was expecting it was loud with kids screaming all the time.
Upon arrival, the elevator from the street level to the main level, was not working. In order to check in, we had to get to the main level by going up 30 steps (maybe) with our heavy suitcases. Torres was so accommodating, he left the front desk unattended to come help bring our bags up. He apologized for the inconvenience and explained the elevator had been broken for a while with no certainty as to when the part would arrive. On the day of our check out, he told my friend there was no one that could help us; not so accommodating. They should have mentioned in the booking that the elevator wasn’t working. My friend has bad knees and we had heavy suitcases. This has to be a safety issue for people with slower mobility. The elevator inside the hotel to the rooms did work.
The staff was very nice, the view was beautiful, and the breakfast buffet was very good!
The water kept over spilling and the elevator situation was horrible. Overall it could be a great hotel one day
Very clean, modern, relaxed chilled vibe, with friendly, very helpful staff. Only criticism i would have was the smell in the bathroom from the drains/shower, like stale water ??
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely hotel and looks beautiful
Lovely stay, definitely recommend.
Beautiful hotel and amenities. My room had partial sea view, is was just so so nice, especially when the sun was rising and goldshine above the sea and in the room- was amazing, calming relaxing. The room/bathroom could be a bit cleaner (was a dump smell the whole time i stayed, but overall was lovely) Beautiful dreamy beach. Good location, just 25 min or so by bus to Palma town. I loved my stay there. I recomend :)
We had a fantastic week at the hotel. It exceeded our expectations. Amazing views from the sky bar. Friendly staff.
We loved the view from our room, but encountered some problems that didn’t meet our expectations: 1. Air Conditioning - We were told that there was no A/C available. We were disappointed that we couldn’t even open the balcony door (throughout the day as well as in the evening because of mosquitos) to alleviate ourselves from the heat and stuffy room. As a result, we were unable to sleep at night. It would have been helpful to have a mini fridge. 2. Housekeeping - We noticed a stain on one of our sheets, and to our surprise, they were never cleaned throughout the entire duration of our stay. 3. Restaurant Quality - Dinner at the hotel was quite pricey and the food was truly one of our worst meals in Spain. 4. Overall Room - We appreciated the floor mat in the bathroom, however it got caught in the door each time we opened the shower door. This caused water to flow out from the shower each time. Room is outdated and had a bit of a smell when we arrived (likely because of the heat with little ventilation).
Room quite small but big enough except toilet was quite cramped. Stunning views from our balcony. Good food & pleasant staff. Bar down the road a bit noisy but all done before midnight. Majority of guests German. We’ve stayed here a few times now and would stay again.
Lovely break away
Lovely chain of hotels Definitely recommend
Recently spent a few nights here and think it was an overall positive experience. The hotel is right on the beach and is surround by many shopping and dinning options. The hotel has some really great areas to take pictures and the pools seem to be very well cleaned. The food options are limited in the hotel but the breakfast was a good deal and saved so much time instead of having to walk around and find coffee and a quick bite. the rooms were small but well appointed with everything you will need for a decent night rest. There are a ton of kids around the hotel and it would be nice if the top pool and outdoor was adults only. Something to note, is that the elevators are TINY and they take forever so if you find yourself on a high floor, keep in mind that you will be taking they stairs a majority of the time. The taxis are not able to pick up or drop off right next to the door so you will have to take your luggage up stairs when checkin in and out. Other than that I found this hotel to be of good value.
The beds are awful. Mine was a twin so maybe didn’t have the double topper but it was the worst bed I’ve slept on.I felt bruised and woke up every few hours as it’s so bad. Pillows also cheap and nasty. Air con v noisy. Walls paper thin. Don’t bother with lifts as everyone wants them and you wait an eternity. The lifts only fit 2/3 people squashed. You get your steps up! I walked the 10 floors to rooftop often. You have to queue for rooftop loungers as there are only a few. so get to the area about 930 then roast in the stairwell waiting. At 1001 they will be all gone. Hotel smells amazing m, clean and breakfast nice. Felt very safe and great location. Staff nice.
This location is only good for beach access. People working at the reception are no help. My sister and I decided to rent a car which requires us to buzz in and ask to open the gate. They told me that I need to check in and then they will assign me a spot and then I can park my car. I had no choice but to leave my car on the side of the road and go inside to check in. Upon check in they I said that I need everyone’s passport as well, which is fine but I wasn’t going to ask my sister to come in and leave our luggage unattended. Not sure why I couldn’t just get buzzed in to park before check in? There’s an elevator for luggage since the front entrance has steps, it was out of service so we had to carry it up with no help from staff. The room is basic, with one bottle of water and has ants everywhere. Our telephone didn’t work, and the cleaning service cleaned our room but left no new towels. For the money I spent, this was not worth it. When we would take our car and leave, everytime we came back someone else had taken our spot and I kept telling reception this. They said they had no idea how these people are getting in, but only they have access to the gate. Sounds like they were overselling parking spots to make money. On the last day, they said the outdoor elevator was fixed. But my sister and I actually got stuck in it. The elevator slammed down to the bottom floor, took us back up and then slammed us down again. The doors didn’t open until we pressed open. They didn’t care
Overpriced, but nice.
Not great value for money. It had big rooms but no gym or laundry. The entrance doesn’t allow for taxis to come in or out. The property is well taken care of but there are better properties for the money along platja de Palma.
We stayed here for a 4 day break in the sun. The hotel was conveniently located near the airport, with good public transport links to central Palma, bike hire, and had all the facilities we needed. The rooms were of an excellent standard, the staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast / dinner was just what we were looking for. Highly recommend.
I love it
The place was nice and convenient, the views from the top floor was amazing and relaxing. The only thing that put me down was when I ask for a hot cup of water to drink my medicine the lady checker on the front of the restaurant said they didn’t have hot water. Although they were open in the evening for dinner time. I think they should provide a kettle for tea and coffee in each room especially when the weather is bad, it rain most of the time when we were there. Over all our stay was good and most of the staff was great.
Won’t recommend
Slow and inattentive staff. Room and entire floor smelled like sewage. Air con only worked on and off. Too few parking spots, had to park on street. Not enough sun beds at either of the pools. Had to pay 30-40 euros for a “Bali bed” at the rooftop, which took up all the space. Bland breakfast and not very “COVID friendly”. Not enough hand sanitizer around the hotel, and most of them were empty.
The place was very clean and the staff was always helpful and positive. The location of the hotel is what made our vacation from great to amazing! It is on the beach and at the same time, it offers a very nice pool area. The cocktails were very nice and served with a smile! The only remark we had are the elevators as we had to wait too long. Also because of the COVID measures, in each elevator, there should be people only from the same room. Other than that, we are very pleased with the experience and we will definitely come by for another vacation!
Great location, cleanliness and overall service!
Great location, cleanliness and overall service! A tiny and minor detail is that people "reserve" their sunbeds early in the morning (like 08.00 a.m.) leaving them "occupied" with towels entire day, meaning people who actually follow "the rules" never will get sunbeds by the pool! Staff should remove those towels on sunbeds not occupied by people within hours.
I loved this hotel. Its super clean and the rooftop pool has an amazing view. They let me check in early and were super nice. The buffet breakfast delicious. I will definitely recommend it to my family and friends.
July 2021 stay
Hotel was very nice, excellent location (10 min drive) if you want to be close drive to Palma city but right on the beach. Facilities are very clean and nice. Only complaint is no coffee machine and no iron/iron board in the room. Parking is free in there lot but very limited spots. We had to park in the street one of the 2 nights, but it was also free and not that hard to find at night. Otherwise it was an excellent stay.
Hotel was in a great place, perfect access to the beach and the pools were great! The pool snack bar had a good selection of tasty foods, we tried the breakfast buffet as well, which has one of the better selection of foods we’ve seen in a hotel breakfast buffet. My only critique is that the walls are quite thin, but I can get over this and would definitely come back! Rooftop pool was amazing.
Beautiful View
Amazing view at the roof. Nice grown and roof pool. Great breakfast. They allow me to check-in early. Friendly staff and good service. I highly recommend.
Nice hotel need to improve reception
The hotel is ok but unfortunately there were constantly very long lines in front of reception. They need more personnel in that area. All of them very nice and speaking several languages. But is not possible that to get a shower cap you need to wait behind customers checking in and out.
All the staff were very helpful . Stephanie in particular was an incredible server
Great location right on the beach!
We wouldn’t want to be there in the high season, but it was great to enjoy one night just before the hotel closed for the season. Service was meh, but maybe everybody was already winding down. No frills room but it had an awesome water view and nice balcony. We fell asleep to the sound of waves crashing. We didn’t use them, but pool, hot tub and sundeck areas look nice. Amazing spread at breakfast – like cruise ship buffet nice! Overflow parking was half a block away and a couple grocery stores are within walking distance.
Weekend break October 19
3 night weekend stay with a friend in October 19. Had a great stay at HM Gran Fiesta. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again in future :) Breakfast at the hotel was amazing and had a choice of everything you could possibly require! Situated right opposite the beach which had lovely golden sand. Hotel has 3 pools. We used the large main outdoor pool which was very clean. There are lots of sun loungers available. Modern and stylish reception and bar area. Just a 10 minute taxi ride to the airport which cost approx 17 eur. We caught the bus just outside the hotel to Palma for the day and caught the mountain train to soller which has great views. Although I didnt have time to go on this visit Palma Aquarium is really nearby down the road if this is on your list to do! Many places to eat and souvenir shops along the beach outside. Overall excellent!
Wonderful hotel
Wonderful stay . Great service , location to the beach , staff all excellent. Only 5 minutes taxi to the airport .
Great!
Confortable hotel, great decoration, amazing view, friendly staff
Great Hotel - BUT - ALL German area
The HM Gran Fiesta is a beautiful hotel with a great location. A bus stop is conveniently located right outside that goes to Palma or airport for 1.5 euro pp. Room #708 was perfect - at the end of the hall with oceanfront balcony with amazing panoramic views. Room amenities are sparse 1 tiny soap & nothing else & no refills upon cleaning your room. Elevators are small and slow. Speaking of slow - WI-FI is awful! The breakfast and dinner buffets were on par with any inclusive package at a resort - Average & enough to fill you up-heads up-unless you purchase the "ALL INCLUSIVE" package soda is not included with meals-only tap water. Be careful when they offer "still" water - they will bring you bottled water & charge you for tap water in a bottle. Drinks are very reasonable at both the lobby bar & rooftop sky bar - BUT the bars close at midnight at hotel and surrounding bars also. However there are tons of "supermarkets" right outside hotel to buy bottled water, wine & beer very cheap-There are lots food places everywhere. I did learn after the fact that the area of HM Gran Fiesta - S'Arenal - is ALL GERMAN !!!! that means German speaking everywhere and German food too - so although the hotel and beach is beautiful - if you want authentic Spanish you need to venture to City Centre of Palma OR stay on the other side of the island. - All in all a great vacation clean hotel (beds are very hard and not comfortable), great pool area beautiful views and beaches. 4 stars
We have nothing good to say about this place or the hotel
Good points: - Great location, close to Palma and the Airport - Beautiful beach just across the road and lots of amenities nearby - Lovely pool - Breakfast was great, lots of variety - Nice decor Things to be aware of: - Things take a really long time here. Need to get some pool towels or ask a question at reception? Be prepared for a 20+ minute wait as there is usually only one person on the desk and always a huge queue. We ended up 40 mins late to meet our friends in Palma one afternoon as a result. Need a lift? Be prepared to wait ages or take the stairs because there are only 3 tiny ones that fit 2-3 to serve hundreds of people. - If you want a sun lounger by either of the pools, you’ll need to get up really early. People reserve them with their towels from around 8am even if they don’t use them for several hours after. The hotel management do not seem to have any system to prevent this. For the first 3 days we had to give up and go to the beach, and pay to use the loungers there instead. -WiFi is awful / non existent - You have to pay unexpected extras for things like the safe in the room, to use the beds on the rooftop, an iron, etc All in all not bad, but not great either. Would choose a different hotel in the same area in future!
Easy to get into lovely historic Palma good indoor pool and jacussi
Good but...
good pool and nice Roof bar, hotel room is clean and good size. but they turn off the air con, staff said because people complained it was cold, I think the staff should suggest these people to turn off the air con and open window instead of all the hotel guests can enjoy the air con after a day under the Sun.
Nice hotel near the beach, very good staff. We only stay one night, but hotel was clean, very good sunbeds, hotelroom and balcony was super.
Starts off good then gets bad
Looks nice but things started to get bad a lot of people were leaving to stay somewhere else. Firstly they don’t tell you how things work on site. Rooms were not cleaned very well everyday had to call them to come bk and re clean floors and actually change sheets then you have to pay for EVERYTHING !!! To use the sauna to go on the roof to use an iron and the list goes on and on !!! Staff were not helpful when I was trying to discuss things with them just simply said nothing we can do. Very upsetting when you have looked forward to your holiday also there is to much other nice hotels to stay to pick this one and food is not good quality
Not the best experience but not so bad. Was a short trip and we managed. Local area is better than the surrounding by a long shot though mainly catered for German tourists. If like me you need late night food, plan ahead as everything closes and no food after 11 or 12. Staff were okay not the most helpful or friendly.
Great place
It was great ... no complaints at all :-)
Amazing in all aspects
Amazing in all aspects: hotel, food, beach, etc Can’t wait to come back
Great hotel, very clean, food was below average, location was great
Disappointing and didn't stay there
We booked the Gran Fiesta over the internet based on their pictures, and decided to pay extra for a deluxe superior ocean view room. Once we arrived, and viewed the room first (thankfully), we were very disconcerted and consequently didn't even stay there. To have a bathroom vanity next to the bed, and no privacy to the shower and toilet, and an ocean view to only 1 side, given the cost, was unacceptable. For the same price, we stayed at the Negresco (next door). Perfect views to both sides, larger room with separate bathroom/toilet area.
Rooftop
I can absolutely recommend this hotel, good service and nice view. Heated inside pool and the rooftop was really nice!
Very disappointing
The bed was hard and lumpy and there was a continuous drone all during the night think it was the pumps from the sky pool . There wasn’t much of a choice of food there was more salad than anything else and very limited also was the cheese and dessert bar . It also should be made known that this hotel is for German tourists only as we were the only English speaking guests and even the staff didn’t understand us , so was very disappointed with this hotel and won’t be recommending it
Close to the beach
Overall, I would rate the hotel standard as OK, although not as great as seen on the web. I was rather disappointed that my bedsheets had not been changed for 4 nights. The communal toilets did not have any hand drying facilities, and therefore the door handles were always wet. It was clear that the handryer had been out of function for sometime. I would revisit this hotel again if the standards of clininess were put right.
Beautiful Hotel, next to the beach.
Hotel has everything to make you feel most relaxed with pleasant facilities, pool, bar, etc. There is a Sky bar with supreme view of the beach. Staff are most friendly although overworked. 10 mins in the bus #25 you are in center of Palma which must be visited once. Beautiful old city with so much to see and so clean. Only issue which was not the hotel,s fault was sunbeds were fully occupied/reserved with towels first thing in the mornings!
Superior room hugely disappointing.
Great view of the evening sunset. Superior room was more like a 2 star, open plan toilet and shower was awful - no privacy whatsoever. The décor was in need of a substantial overhaul. The door of the empty mini-bar was hanging off its hinges, the curtain did not close properly, WIFI was €10/day, hire of the safety deposit box was €3/day - I paid €150 a night. The rooms need significant investment. The restaurant food was good with a reasonable variety.
Horrific and overpriced. Definitely not even a 3*
It was the most awful place ever. Basic, dirty and terrible location if you want to go to Palma. The only redeeming feature was the beach. Definitely not worth the money. The most horrid place I have ever stayed. First night there our room was fly infested, dirty and unprepared. There is no wifi even in the communal areas and the bathroom is in the bedroom. I have nothing good to say about the place or location.
Good location. Average service. Bad wifi.
We arrived at 11pm and were then told that they were overbooked and didn't have enough rooms for us to check in. The man at reception was rather rude given the circumstances caused on their part. Another nearby hotel was arranged for us for one night and then we checked in the following day. They included breakfast and drinks as a compensation. The fact that you need to pay €10 for wifi a day is ridiculous especially as it is per device. That definitely put a damper on the experience as the wifi we paid for didn't even reach the poolside. I was asked to email my booking confirmation through to the hotel and was then told I need to pay for wifi to do so if I had no connection, seriously?
HM TROPICAL.
This review is for HM TROPICAL, as HM GRAN FIESTA was being renovated. Your parent company Expedia, changed our booking to HM Tropical and included free WiFi and all inclusive. This was very much appreciated and we Thankyou. The hotel and all the staff were exceptional.
Lovely modern hotel overlooking the sea.
We stayed only one night but we were both delighted with the hotel. Our room was lovely with a balcony and see view. There didn't seem to be a huge variety of food but we enjoyed what we had and were perhaps too tired to notice everything on offer. The swimming pool looked inviting but we didn't have our cosies with us, so that's something for next time. We would definitely stay here again.
Very nice hotel opposite the sea!!
Hotel very nice, modern, rooms are small but enough for 2 ppl. The only bad thing was the toilet door was a sliding glass door so you can hear absolutely everything even with the door closed! We have had best room in the all hotel, 9th floor with direct sea view - view is amazing, i must admit. Food was very good, great variety at b'fast and dinner and everything was so delicious!! I could stay in the restaurant all day eating :) They have nice swimming pools, outdoor and indoor, lovely bar with some live entertainment. I loved this bar at night so cosy and so beautiful lighting!! Thing I didn't like was sauna I had to pay for 10 EUR per person! I have also had to pay for WIFI (10EUR a day?!) and for safe deposit (also 10EUR?!) I mean come on, that should be free of charge!! Also, lots of Germans eldery ppl. We were probably the youngest ppl in the hotel lol (early 30's) but maybe its the time of the year (We have been there in late November) Overall great stay and I would definitely come back during summer time.
A YES from us
November but we got some superb weather very settled all week and the sea view from our superior suite saw the Med looking like the proverbial mill pond. STAFF. We found them help full. Had much more interaction with the bar staff, we found all waiters and bar staff to be very professional. I believe the key is maturity, all aged perhaps 35+ they know what is needed. BOARD CHOICES. We booked on a Half Board basis something very rare with ourselves as we like to get out and about as you will have deduced from above. However our advice for November or out of season visitors is do the same thing or go All Inclusive as there are not many eateries open at night time around the hotel There are some very reasonable choices to add an upgrade on arrival at the hotel. DINING EXPERIENCE. Dining room staff equally as professional and well organised. There was plenty of choice on the buffet counters. Much food cooked in front of you. You would have to be pretty picky not to find something you like each night day and breakfast. I give praise to all staff even though it was out of season the hotel was fully booked so what we saw and experienced was pretty much what you get in full season. Okay in July you would be more likely to find a few more taking up the sun beds around the pool after all it is 90% German 10% others but there are plenty of sun beds and sun terraces all with a sea view not far away. I'd be very pleased to re-visit anytime soon we had a great time.
Great location, nice modern hotel, great value
3 day short break to get some sun
Hotel was really nice and modern. We only stayed for 4 nights but really enjoyed our stay, if we had of stayed longer I would have preferred a larger room as the standard ones are quite small. The staff were friendly.Great to be so close to the beach. The hotel is very conveniently located close to the airport, just a 10 minute taxi ride. We had a very relaxing short stay at the hotel and would definitely stay here again in the future.
terrible experience with this booking
Despite I booked the rooms in January 2015, I was asked to go to another hotel due to overbooking of HM Gr.Fiesta. The hotel I has to move with my wife and two children( I do not have any other option but to accept this relocation as all hotels around did not have available rooms) has terrible room conditions: very small rooms, extremely small bathroom, toilet without door, etc.
Every year
Second time there. Perfect rental bike possibility in the hotel. Will come again.
NOT a 4 Star Hotel
Was at this hotel just overnight, 12/29/12, for a flight connection next day. Because my stay was between Christmas and New Year, I paid a premium price. Taxi to hotel is 18-20 Euros, but bus 21, which runs from airport every half hour, is 2.5 Euros and stops adjacent to hotel and is about 7 minute ride. I took bus both ways. Hotel caters to mostly German package holiday crowd. My first impression on checking was that hotel seemed to be a German retirement home....it was a very much an older crowd, with some "cougars" circling the check in desk. I had prepaid my dinner which was a buffet with fish and pork as the main course choices. Very good cheese and dessert selections. My silverware was dirty with chunks of food on the fork, and the plates had a greasy film. At dinner I witnessed a waiter scratching his underarms. The room was very basic and somewhat "worn-out". There were long hairs in the bathtub and in the bathroom sink. The bed linens were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was no free wi-fi and different front desk personnel quoted me different prices (5E/10E) for wi-fi access. Summary: This is simply NOT a four star hotel as advertised. I was here off season......maybe during peak season things are different. I paid less at Hilton hotels in Barcelona and Copenhagen during this trip and was completely satisfied with Hilton. I was disappointed in my Hm Gran Fiesta experience. I will not be back.
convenient to all our needs
very good
Palma
The hotel carries a 4 star rating but I would say that it is more of a good 3 star, by international standards. It is very much geared for package tours, particularly from Germany. Good location being close to the airport, with easy and cheap local bus transportation from and to the airport (€2.50) and also downtown (€1.50). The bus stop is just a few meters from the hotel entrance.
Many German Visitors
Hotel was ok, nothing special, actually I would rate it lower 4. Star. Nice location infont of the beach although you can hear all the incomming planes land when they reverse thrust. A very long beach, very clean and tidy, some great bars go for area 4 for a few lively bars the majority of the others are quiet and relaxing. When you get a tax from the airporti, ask how much it wI'll be before getting in! The meter read 8.50 euros and after him pressing about 20 buttons it jumped to 22! He claimed airport cabs have a 12.50 euro surcharge!! I think not! Leaves a bad taste when the locals take tourists for mugs. I would take the number 21 bus from the airport for 2.50 euros. Have fun!
Alles super gewesen komme gerne wieder
Alles super
Alles wunderbar geklappt 😊
Ich empfehle überhaupt nicht
Speisesaal war viel zu kalt (klimaanlage) nachbarhotel war bei der abenunterhaltung sehr laut
Insgesamt sehr gut. Komme gerne wieder!
Sewer smell at the hotel and also at the beach.
Toilette ohne Luftabzug, ansonsten alles ok.

If you only care about the Beach, this is your place. But if you have the slightest standard you'll regret your stay. The Hotel was too expensive for the amenities and service it provided. Bed was very hard, no extra pillows, no Gym, cocktails at the bar were a joke (no idea what a Vodka Martini was), Breakfast buffet only until 10:30am and the food was not fresh. The Hotel has no main entrance to the street!! We had to park on the street the first day because they only have 10-12 parking spots. No help with the bags. STAY AWAY!
