Old, unkempt facility. furniture in the room is old, decrepit and broken. Entrance to the facility is unappealing to a first-time visitor. One has the impression the place is an unabandoned building with no visible security presence. Needed a confirmation from a passer by before entering. Charging over GHS3,000 (USD243) for two nights was a complete rip-off.

Please do not recommend any body from the USA

Never has such bad experience in my hotel accommodation, costumer services need more attention, the bathroom did not work, not water in the bathroom, no toilet tissue in the bathroom, dust everywhere in the room. Breakfast was awful, no variety, omelet with white bread for everyone. No choice!!!!

Good experience - keep it up

Manager Billy runs a tight ship and maintains a customer focus that makes one want to recommend his establishment - well done! His Majesty's is modest in terms of appointments, but more than makes up for this by way of the warmth of its staff and attention to detail. The kitchen punches above its weight, although the menu is understandably limited. Walking distance to beach side and restaurant facilities at a pinch. I enjoyed my stay, although it has to be said that prices in general have increased in Ghana and obtaining good value for one's money is not as easy as it used to be. When I stay in Ghana again, I would find it hard to go past His Majesty's.

Great Hotel if You Have an Exam at The Zenith Ctr

Nice Staff, pleasant stay. They messed up our reservation on the first night because of comms problems between them and Hotles.com and had to take us elsewhere but then later compensated us with free meals for the other two days/nights we stayed there so I guess we cant complain. Would stay there again.

Alot of maintenance is needed

Shower did not work. TV did not work. Promises made by Duty manager were not carried through by staff. Even rooms were changed but nothing got better. Will definitely not recommend this hotel. At least it was clean.

A good bargain for a pleasant hotel in Accra

Breakfast is included with the room, which is a plus. But service is slow, although cheerful. My room was clean and everything worked, lights, AC, TV, fridge. The bathroom had bathmats on the floor and a big new bar of Lux soap on the tub. There was a well-stocked tea set on a tray, with several tea bags, 2 cups and saucers, sugars--but no tea kettle. I guess one has to call room service to get hot water. There was a water leak on my second day, and the staff very quickly moved me to a different room with no hassles at all. For Accra, this is a quality hotel for thhe price.

Compares well to others of the same price in Accra

The room was very clean, the sheets and towel were clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The dinner I had of fried chicken and french fries was excellent, well cooked and piping hot. The problem was a list of odd things, that were overlooked by staff: The shower curtain was too short so water got on the bathroom floor. There were 3 lamps ion the room, but the plugs on the lamps did not fit the electric sockets, so the lamps were just decorative, I guess. There was no bath mat on the bathroom floor, so one stepped from the shower onto the bare tile, making a puddle. The Air conditioner remote control was missing, so it was either full on or full off by a switch on the wall. For the price, bearing in mind Accra is very expensive these days, this hotel is very good. For the odd problems, had I stayed more than 1 night, I would have made a fuss. I still recommend it, however.

Good Stay

I stayed here for 9 days and overall my stay was okay. The room could have been a little cleaner but it was okay. The staff was ABOVE nice and helpful. They made me stay the entire 9 days because I did consider leaving the hotel becasue I wasn't 100% satisfied with the room but they were so wonderful. The only thing that I didn't like was that one of the workers wanted to charge me about $50 just to keep my luggage at the hotel for a couple of hours while I waited on my flight. I would recommend people to stay here especially if it's only for a couple of days.

Pleasant Staff

We had a great time in this hotel and were lucky to have a good driver. it was away from downtown so we needed rides to go places. We were also able to arrange driving jaunts to other areas like Elmina and Kumasi with the driver. We would return here.

Accra hotel

Choices are limited in Ghana...and His Majesty's Hotel is a good choice. Friendly help, reasonably good rooms. Don't ever expect the Ritz in West Africa, but if your expectations are realistic, you'll be happy here. Will stay again.

His Majesty's Hotel--An experience of a lifetime

My Spouse and I have the most wonderful experience of our lives. We have travelled extensively and we have used many hotels, most of them five stars, but we have not had the courteous welcoming "you are at home" atmosphere until we arrived at His Majesty's Hotel. If you are looking for phony smiles and "I must treat you pleasantly because it is my job" attitude, then His Majesty's Hotel is not for you. But if you are looking for "you are my fimily and I must treat you as one of my own" attitude then His Majesty's Hotel is for you. The enite staff is wonderful. The manager, Mr. Ibrahim exemplies hospitality and his staff follows his lead perfectly. The hotel is always clean, neat, and pleasant--without overbearing furnishings. The customer services are beyond comparison and the food is exceptional. I never knew that hotel food could be that tasty and pleasing until I had my first meal at His Majesty's Hotel. I do not believe any visitor to a hotel can experience a more welcoming, sincere, hospitable, and pleasurable experience. I encourage everyone to at least spend a night at this hotel. Thank You to all at His Majesty's Hotel for a most memorable experience.

Def Not four star

I stayed for a week and I was quite disappointed on my arrival. This was due to the condition of the hotel. It is quite apparent and obvious that this hotel was not 4 star as advertised, so I felt cheated. Ths hotel is a 2 star, maybe we can stretch it to a 2 and half but it is not 3 and most def not 4 star. By day 2, this hotel is kind of growing on me. The hotel staffs were quite attentive and displayed the traits, and kind temperament found in most of the Ghanaian peoples. The room I had booked was extremely spacious. It was clean. And the staffs were responsive and helpful to my request for items not available at the hotel like airtime for my cell etc. Complimentary wireless internet was available 24/7. I then started to see the positives of the hotel. The location, although not in the most ideal location; it was not in the worst location either. I found it extremely easy to grab a cab to get to where ever I needed to travel to. Food at the hotel was good. I got in late one evening and the chef had washed up and was on his way out the door to go home. He actually returned back to the kitchen and cooked me a meal which was typical of all the staff at the hotel of going that extra mile to please guest, and most importantly; they do it to please rather than to hustle you for a tip. So conclusion!! I paid for a four star and got a two star hotel, but by the end of my week stay there. I have no complaints thanks to the great attitude and professionalism of the hotel staff.

Noriega had a quieter night!

Like 90 db religious music--people "talking in tongues" then this is your place. Not the hotels fault--but the neighbors make this an unacceptable place to stay.

Nice & ok

I can't say I extremely enjoyed my stay in this hotel (I've had better experiences) but with the courteousness & customer service of the on-ground staff, I could give them a second chance. What I didn't like about the hotel was the environment -extremely noisy (not great for a quiet get away) & for the price I paid for an executive room, I expected toiletries beyond a bar of soap! Oh I should mention that they were extremely wonderful allowing us occupy our room beyond the checkout time as our flight was a late evening flight.
