A dirty outdated hotel with a very steep stairs and poor internet

It was an affordable price. My fault for going cheap. But hiking up 7 flights of stairs carrying my suitcase was not what i expected. But i gotta admit the view was unique. If you are not physically fit - find somewhere else. If you expect clean floors, mold free showers and stain free linens - stay somewhere else. If you don't want to feel like you are camping in a sketchy hostel - stay somewhere else. There are amazing places to eat nearby and the metro is a short walk away. Gare de Lyon is a walkable distance as well.

Economical no-frills hotel

The hotel is a no-frills type of hotel at €60 a night. Clean room with enough space to have a bed, desk and armoire. There are several flights of stairs to navigate. The hotel is directly above a bar. Great for a morning coffee, not so great at night due to the bar noise. Nice location walking distance from the Bastille. Rue Faubourg St. Antoine has bakeries, restaurants, convenience stores and the several metro stops.

Great location and value. Please update the pillows.

I'M HAPPY

I needed a place to get my head down for a few hours between connecting trains. It was ideal for that, anything longer and probably not.

I wouldn't stay here again. I'm a working class gal and I get it wasn't the most fancy place, but for $175 a night, I would expect it to be CLEAN. I get that buildings are old and worn out, but this was filthy. pubes on the floor and the toilet seat, old wrapper in the shower, crusts in the sink, smears all over the walls, light switches, door handles and mirrors, and the sheets had dirt on them. I wasn't allowed a refund, and I didn't have the money to go elsewhere, so I cleaned the room myself. RIDICULOUS. Really a gross place. No lobby, and the WIFI only worked half the time. Very hot and very noisy. The staff was nice. That's true. That was the only good thing. Don't stay here. Find somewhere else.

The staff here were so welcome and kind. The space is small and simple but perfect as a place to call home for a few days in Paris. The area was wonderful to walk around in.

The reception was warm, friendly, helpful. The room was basic as one would expect at that price. TV didn't have a signal. No lift For one night near Gare de Lyon it was ok.

Cheap, good area, room / bathroom could be better

The hotel is in a very good location, and the room itself was ok. However the bathroom was pretty poor. The shower head mount was broken so had to hold it when showering. Lots of mould forming around silicone in shower tray. Broken sink stand. Filthy extractor fan. The sound proofing between rooms / across hall was very poor. You can hear more than you'd like to hear. Also, doors need lubricating as they squeak / creak loudly when opened / closed.

Room and shower were small, but good for the price we paid. No clean towels or clean bedsheets which wasn’t great.

Very clean and warm place

Small Simple and Quaint

Hipotel was very accommodating for us. It was very simple, small, clean and very close to the metro and food. This is a perfect place if all you’re looking for is a place to sleep and shower. The receptionists were very kind and helpful.

The front desk people were very friendly. The room was two small for 2 people with small luggage. The hotel was next door to a cafe/ bar and the noise from the bar and traffic was on going until 2:30 am. We had to keep the window open due to the heat wave. Price was right for what it was and description was accurate. I did jot except the disco noise from next door.

No lift - quite steep spiral staircase to access room on 3rd floor. Very noisy, both traffic and outside street bar. Shower fitted but totally useless - angle of head fitting was all wrong so that you had to hold it or just wash the toilet! No tea/coffee making facilities in room.

Great hotel. Perfectly located. The neighborhhod is wonderful and lively. Super friendly staff! Great service, room was refreshed every day!! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend it.

Cozy hotel

I booked this room last minute. I was greated by friendly staff and check in was quick. I was offered the room on 5th floor, there was no elevator, but it didn’t matter to me, I can climb the stairs. The room was great, small and cozy. The bathroom was amazing, all bathroom appliances seemed like new. I really liked the view from my little balcony. The location of the hotel is also great, just nee the Bastille. One thing that I really didn’t like were the noises from near room, where people were... making love? They were screaming and moaning, it was unbearable, so annoying. In the end I pluged in my earbuds and fell asleep. Otherwise, I really liked the hotel! Good for the price for sure.

Small toilet ,noisy ,no lift for heavy bags

The saying that you get what you pay for has never been true! Overall I am not complaining about this property I am just setting expectations for those who are looking to stay here: 1. They ask for city tax when you check in, guy told us to not worry about it and then harassed us for it the next day. 2. The room and bathroom is extremely small, cannot turn in the shower, toilet is right upon the sink. 3. The room has no insulation, no thermostat to control AC/Heater. The room gets so hot and stuffy that we have to open the windows, but the noise of traffic and people talking/partying outside makes it hard to sleep and the nights are so cold that we had to close and reopen the windows throughout the night. 4. The curtains and Comforter were dusty, hasn't been washed in a while. Every night that I laid in the bed or opened the windows my allergies would flare up. 5. Personally I do not like to have my room cleaned, especially in foreign countries, no offense to anyone, just a personal thing of mine. I asked for towels and was given an attitude because they weren't able to clean the room. 6. You can smell the neighbors smoking cigarettes throughout the hotel and worst of all in your room, which forces you to open the window again. Again, nothing written above is a complaint, just simply setting expectations!

Tiny, but charming

There is a spiral staircase that is pretty tight. I was assigned to the 6th floor and had to lug my bag all the way up. The wifi didn't work for me. There is a nice bar right next-door that had good wifi, and they were great in there. The room was tiny, but cute, and comfortable. I found it to be very clean. It was quiet, and I slept well. There was a nice big window that opened for air. The shower is tight. The staff was friendly and pleasant. There are some nice cafes in the area, and a metro stop is right there. I didn't explore the neighborhood beyond that though.

Loved everything except the very thin walls! Could hear people on the staircase quite clearly

one of the clerks was very helpful in showing me how to navigate the transportation system. he woud personally guide me over the map to choose the most direct route to get to any venue that l chose.Thanks to his help, l was able to see as everything l wanted to see and traverse the Metro systen daily.

the hotel room had mold in it, 6 levels and no elevator, no one seemed to care about anything and just overall meh. leave alone the fact that i kept getting charged constantly (5 times overall ) ending up paying way more than the booking was and having to deal with it as fraud in the end.

It was very disappointing! I was expecting an actual hotel, but I've stayed in nicer hostels. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone. It was way too expensive for the location and cheap, tiny rooms with no bathroom!

I AM DISABLED ASKED FOR ROOM NEAR ELEVATOR - 6th FLOOR, NO ELEVATOR 106 STEPS UP, 106 STEPS DOWN - SPIRAL STAIRCASE HUGE HAIRBALL IN SHOWER - 6 DAYS, WAS STILL THERE WHEN I LEFT RESTROOM DESPERATELY NEEDS UPDATE

Terrible for the money

Boiling hot cramped room, spiral staircase to get to upper floors, no lift. Bed basic metal creaky frame, not the best comfort. Location was good near gare de Lyon and nice bars and coffee shops near by. View from room wasn't the best.

Lovely cheap place to stay in Paris.

The room itself was small, with no air conditioning in the Parisian heat, but the sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was sufficient. It was clean and cozy, just enough for the two of us! They also gave us free WiFi for the three nights we were there, so that was a lovely touch.

Shockingly overpriced.Terrible tiny cell of a room . Probably a single but sold as a double. Tiny bathroom. One foot out of the mouldy shower into the toilet bowl. Fitments very shabby. Shower head bracket holder broken. Horrible xmas themed bed spread. View of soil stack pipe and filthy cigarette butts. Stairs incredibly noisy. No lift. "Reception" a miserable cubby hole in the wall. Free wifi grudgeingly given....asked how many devices (!?) Like it wd cost them any more! Experience not enhanced by a near neighbour coughing his guts up into a sink(?) Just the other side of the wall. All in all one if the worst hotels I have been to in paris where i have stayed a lot. Only good point it was for 1 night dnd fairly near gare de Lyon. Worth about €25 not €80.

Great Room for Crashing- Good Location

I read so many reviews about this hotel before going and was a little concerned. But upon arrival, I found the staff very friendly and helpful. I was not surprised by the spiral stairs (it's listed on their site) and the room was perfect for my stay. I did not go to Paris to spend time in the room, so it was perfect for sleeping. Bed was comfortable, and room was cleaned daily. I experienced no problems while there and would gladly go back. Amazingly close to the Metro stop and so many great places to eat. Thank you all for your hospitality!

It was as good as it could get for that price. Very small room but it was comfy and had a private bathroom (also very small and a little uncomfortable). Location wise was really good since it was in a good young area walking distance to Notre Dame and Louvre or the metro station to go anywhere else. Wifi is NOT free but is available and not that expensive to buy. Overall it was good for the price.

On the first day i arrived to no sheets on the bed and no towels, had to ask numerous times throughout the day and finally when I got back to the hotel late that night I was given a sheet to put on myself, shower was terrible, no where to hang a towel or out soap etc, very disappointing place to stay

OK for an overnight transit stop

My bag was stolen at the bus station...there was a crowd and zero security....so hang on to everything! Neither the bus company nor the bus station would give me any documentation... I would really only recommend this hotel as a transit....tiny, clean room up 3 circuits of a precariously tiny spiral staircase..shared toilet for what looked like at least 8 rooms and a separate less than 1m squared shower cupboard... There's a supermarket next door and around to the right a good selection of cheap eats...

cheap, convenient place to stay

nice, clean room just a few unexpected things. There was a toilet in the hall but no shower and there were 6 floors and no elevator, but the staff was very nice and for a short trip it was perfect.

Four flights no lift

See my trip advisor review. Basically reception was a cupboard, bed furniture was in the entrance, room on forth floor via rickety spiral staircase, no offer of help, Room clean but small, Bathroom tight.

Serious fire risk

I had booked a twin room with shared bathroom. When I got there I found in fact the "shared bathroom" was a shared toilet on the landing. There was no bath or a shower. Only a handbasin in the room. The room was listed as having "premier bedding". In fact there was just a mattress cover and a sheet and pillow on the bed, and a single blanket in the doorless wardrobe. The concierge told me that my room was on the 6th floor. There was no lift and I had to drag my suitcase up a narrow spiral staircase only wide enough for one person at a time. When I checked the fire escape instructions at the top I discovered the only way out was back 6 floors down the narrow spiral staircase. I imagined all the guests trying to get out at the same time - a nightmare scenario. Not only that, but there were no "no smoking" signs, and the bedding in my room smelt of cigarette smoke. So guests were clearly smoking in the rooms. There was a tiny balcony outside the window with a dizzying drop 6 floors to the pavement. I doubt if a fire ladder would reach. I believe this hotel is a serious fire risk and should not be licenced.

Le séjour commence par 10 mn d attente a l'accueil. Chambre au 6eme sans ascenseur. Pas de chauffage , literie pourrie, pas deau chaude , bac à douche noir de moisissures, bac à douche bouché, pommeau de douche rempli de calcaire arrose les parois .Une honte de louer cela.

Gut für schlichte Übernachtungen. Kein Fahrstuhl!

Cet hôtel ne correspondait pas a mes souhaits en terme de confort, propreté, service. Le sol de la chambre était composé de plusieurs revêtements de différentes couleurs et collait sous mes pieds. Les draps et les serviettes étaient propres. Ves dernières étaient changées tous les jours. La chambre s'apparentait plus a une cellule su'â autre chose. Elle était au 3rme étage desservi par un escalier très raide. Je ne retournerai pas dans cet établissement.

Tout simplement horrible ! C’est clairement un hôtel de passe. 6 étages sans ascenseur, des hommes qui montent et descendent toutes les heures, frappent à une porte et sont accueillis pour des prestations… La douche est d’un niveau de saleté incroyable, la porte de la minuscule salle de bain est couverte de traces de dentifrice séchés qui n’ont jamais été nettoyés. La télé ne fonctionne pas. Les draps (propres) sont sur un matelas horriblement sale. Pas d’alaise et une vision directe sur des tâches dégoûtantes sur le matelas et son lots de poils et cheveux des clients précédents… Pour finir, une odeur nauséabonde est présente dès l’entrée dans la chambre et ne vous quitte plus. Comment un « hôtel » (peut-on vraiment parler d’hôtel) peut se retrouver sur la plateforme hotels.com ??? Comment peut-il être noté 5,6/10 ? Je suis dégoûté de mon séjour et m’interroge sur continuer à utiliser hotels.com pour mes nombreux déplacements !

Bruit toute la nuit, chambre et SDB vétustes, pas d'offre petit déj. Cependant, réceptionnistes sympa et hébergement plutôt propre malgré la vétusté.

Einfach nur ekelhaft, alles ist kaputt, schimmlig, es stinkt und es gibt Ungeziefer im Haus.

Obliger de changer d'hôtel car nous ne pouvons pas prendre de douche à cause de la baume de douche noire ainsi que la robinetterie....le parquet est défectueux et s'effrite je craignais de marcher pied nue .... sincèrement ne faites pas comme nous ne payer pas un séjour pour rien... d'ailleurs je suis très déçu du site Expedia d'avoir présenté cet hôtel je pensais que c'était un site sérieux et que je pouvais faire confiance au produit qu'il présente. Photos vue sur le site l'hotel ne correspond pas du tout avec la surprise que nous avons eu. Salle de bain vetuste et exigu. Le lit grince au moindre mouvement. Pas ascenseurs Escalier en colimaçon avec nos bagage pas facile d'y accéder. Le seul point positifs le gérant très poli

Chambre et équipement sanitaire sale et vétuste, chaleur infernale dans la chambre, impossible de réduire le robinet de radiateur. Vraiment trop cher pour la prestation. Absence d'ascenseur (pas très pratique quand on est au 4ème étage).

Sejour plus que passable

Problème a la rervation. L'escalier est raide en colimaçon et ne convient pas pour des personnes ayant des difficultés de mobilité. La chambre est petite, la salle d'eau trop exigue. La pomme de douche etait fuyarde. La douche etait sale, la propreté de la chambre (moisissure)laissait a desirer. La télécommande de la tv etait HS a l'entree, il a fallu changer les piles.

Un endroit dégoûtant, bruyant, qui ne devrait pas figurer sur Expedia. Un marchand de sommeil pour une nuit chère où on n'ose à peine toucher le sol, se coucher sous un simple drap. La douche dans un état proche de l'insalubrité, toilettes sales. Chambre au 5ème étage sans ascenseur. Dégoûtée d'avoir payé aussi cher pour ce lieu. Un conseil pour améliorer : à demolir et reconstruire.

Pour l'utilité que j'en avais (juste un lieu pour dormir entre deux correspondances) est top. Les lieux sont propres en calmes pour une bonne nuit de sommeil.

C'est un hôtel très simple, très bon marché et bien situé près de la gare de Lyon. Ce n'est certes pas du grand luxe, mais tout y est : bon lit, douche et WC dans la chambre, wifi gratuit, prises de courant.Parfait pour une courte étape à Paris pour un tarif imbattable.

Lamentable. C’est franchement pas terrible et pas propre, surtout la salle de douche. La literie est plutôt bonne malgré tout. Pas d’ascenseur, escalier étroit, et pas de petit-déjeuner possible, si vous comptez dessus. Bar en dessous, donc bruyant aussi. Hôtel vraiment en dernier recours.

Si vous pouvez, évitez !!!

Je déconseille fortement : - salle de bains avec joints moisis de haut en bas (et je vous raconte pas le rideau de douche), - très bruyant (évacuation des eaux usées des étages au-dessus, on entend tous les voisins de chambre, ...) - fenêtre en double vitrage mais qui ne ferme pas (dommage pour l'isolation thermique et sonore avec le café juste en-dessous). Bref, je recommande pas !

Hôtel près des commerces et restaurants. Cependant une certaine population (logée certainement par la préfecture) de l'hôtel était bruyante la nuit.

Suoer sejour, assez couet, mais suffksant..le top du top, c'etait la vue sur le haut de la tour effeil, et le haut de la bastille magique..cbzmbre, bien dans l'ensemble, couverture bien chaude...

Vraiment sale. La salle de douche une horreur. Porte qui ne se fermait pas. Hôtel sans ascenseur. Donc si vous êtes à 6 ème, accrochez vous a monter vos valises dans un escalier en escargot.

Séjour imprévu. Bien contente d'avoir trouvé une chambre. Rien à redire sur la literie. Par contre, le sol n'a pas été lavé après la dernière occupation. Les fenêtres donnent sur une cour intérieure et les carreaux ont été nettoyés depuis des lustres. Autrement, la nuit a été très bruyante jusqu'à 3 h - 3 h 30. Est-ce parce que c'était un samedi ? Dommage.

Suffisant pour la nuit

Hôtel très simple, mais propre. Les double vitrages laissent passer le bruit de la rue (prévoir des bouchons d'oreille). Le hall n'est pas très accueillant, mais les chambres sont très corrects. Il y a tout. Pour dormir c'est largement suffisant. Propre, salle de bain spacieuse. Pas d'ascenceur.
