Extremely inconvenient

This place was clean, the view was nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful but it can't be overstated how massively inconvenient it was to stay here. There are exactly two choices for getting between the hotel and Tonsai, where all of the food worth eating is: longtail boat taxi (the hotel at least provides one free of charge for checking in and out but in between you're on your own), which takes ~10min, costs 100-150THB/person, may or may not leave Tonsai without making you wait for more people, and requires one to jump into the water to disembark if you aren't traveling during high tide, or a 45min trek across the beach, up a muddy cliff that requires one to pull oneself up using the provided rope and over a half-improved trail through the bat- and mosquito-infested woods. Oh, and once you arrive at the end of Long Beach, you'll be greeted by no fewer than 155 stairs to climb, which are the only way in and out of the hotel. These things probably aren't a deal breaker for the right people, but it's imperative that you understand the experience you're signing up for - I booked at the last minute and therefore didn't, and that's my own fault. If you are OK with feeling isolated and trapped behind all the various barriers to freedom or eating the hotel's mediocre food (no room service btw) and you are in good physical shape, then maybe you'll enjoy yourself here. Our room's floor was also sloped because of the hill - didn't feel unsafe, but wasn't comfortable either.

Beautiful location with spectacular views, & lovely staff. Very clean rooms, with good aircon, comfortable bed, nice balcony space, & nice, large bathroom with good shower (especially when compared to other tropical island experiences.) Nice daily continental breakfast offering. A couple of cons: no communication re: the arrival process gave a bad first impression (when arriving at Koh Phi Phi, look for staff in bright pink, as a taxi-boat transfer from the main pier to the resort is required.) Also, in general the taxi-boat captains don’t seem keen to return passengers to HIP Seaview, & made us wait for more passengers, & then dropped us well down the beach. It should be made clearer at booking that the (unavoidable) stairs up to the resort might not be suitable for the elderly or unfit - I’m neither of these but didn’t enjoy this after a big dinner & drinks at the local restaurants.

This was a beautiful place to stay with very helpful and friendly staff. There are lots of stairs to climb once you arrive so fitness level is a concern for some folks. The staff had cool washcloths and a fruit drink waiting upon arrival. The restaurant and bar were awesome with very good food. We had 2 bungalows. One was newer and more modern than the other. It was super nice. The older bungalow had a TV which wasn’t working. We loved that the property was so peaceful and scenic. The beach is very busy and it was nice to retire to such a great place in the evenings. Would highly recommend.

Amazing stay @ hip sea view! We spent 3 days on the island, the hip had the most amazing views, and friendly staff. New even helped with travel advice for Myanmar (and makes a great drink) We had lost part of our camera lens and Pla went above and beyond to find it for us. We did a few tours through the hip; the 3 snorkel, sunset, and plankton. One the best places we have been, you will be so happy with your stay.

Very poor value for money. The breakfast was extremely disappointing, only an option for either scrambled egg, fried egg or omelette with either bacon or ham and then fruit, muesli and yogurt. The other hotels we stayed in on other islands (at a cheaper rate!) included a breakfast buffet with plenty of options. Also, the resort is located at the opposite end of the island from the main shops/restaurant areas and there are little restaurant options nearby (all being overpriced) and you need to pay for a boat to the main area with much better restaurants and bars. There is also no pool at the resort. The views from the huts are beautiful, however given the cost per night I would not recommend this resort. Much better options on the island.

Good

Nice view from the hotel, which is located very close to Long Beach. The hotel has no beach, so it is necessary to walk 5 mins to get to it. As already said be careful if you are not willing to take many steps to go to the hotel. It is definitely not recommended for the elderly. Rooms are tidy and cleanliness was ok. Breakfast is good, many options available.

The staff at this property is amazing and super sweet and accommodating. The only downside to staying here, which i wish someone would have said in the reviews prior to us booking is that we lost our money on one night stay at the hotel because you can not access the island after 4pm. So if your flight arrives anytime after 1pm you will not make it to the hotel on time because of this. And you will lose your money for one of your nights stay. Expedia and the hotel refused to refund us for this night. Although it was purchased in a vacation package. Also it’s in the wilderness so we saw a lizard once and a few worms in the room. Also they have the key arranged where the air goes off when you leave the room. It’s extremely hot out so it make it miserable when you come back to your room. Last note is there’s about a 150 step climb up to the hotel you’ll have to take everyday. A few times we limited leaving the hotel because we didn’t want to climb back up the stairs and we are very fit people.

The staff went above and beyond for us. Helped so much with our luggage up and down many hills in the pouring rain (went during raining season, which was nice bc the island was less populated and most days it only rained a bit, besides the day we were leaving). Nice place to stay, bit secluded from the madness, which we preferred.

I can’t say enough good things about this beautiful place. Situated on the far end of Long Beach, it feels like you’re staying on your own island. The beach is beautiful and quiet. Away from the noise in Phi Phi. The staff were so helpful with arranging taxis for us and doing whatever they could to make our stay better. On our first morning we missed breakfast, but they brought us coffee and fresh fruit anyways. We stayed in 51, the grand sea view room and it was incredible. The only negative comment I have to make is that we did struggle to get taxis in Phi Phi to take us back to Long Beach, they told us the waves were too big. I know it is beginning low season and that effects the weather but it never seemed that bad. One driver charged us 300baht and dropped us off at least 30 minutes of a walk from our place. Make sure you agree on where they will take you to before you pay. The typical price is 100baht/person during the day and 150baht/person in the evening. The Viking trail isn’t bad, there’s one part in the woods that is steep, but there is a rope to help. I would recommend bringing a headlamp if you plan to do the trail at night. but not hard. It was very hot when we were there which is why we wanted a taxi to take us back at night. The restaurant is delicious and the staff, again, was amazing. Would definitely recommend staying here. I hope to be back to Phi Phi soon and will definitely be staying here again.

A lovely stay here, the staff were helpful and lovely, breakfast was nice and filling and complementary, the view of the sea from this resort thats higher up than any other hotel on long beach, so beautiful! One thing to note is the location, it is at the end of Long Beach so it was far from the town and has a long set of stairs, the stairs really aren't a problem if you're young and able but it is not ideal for those who'd struggle. Long beach is still enjoyable without going to the centre of the island and so the location of this hotel is fine for that, to get to the town, you'd either have to take a taxi boat which is expensive to use everyday or walk about an hour. The walk/hike isn't that bad but sometimes can get annoying and tiring when you just want to be home. The heat doesn't help but I'd still say its worth staying in Long beach than the town (tonsai) as the beach was much much nicer and water was clearer

I am very happy that I booked this hotel. After read other ppl's review I was worried about the stairs and the distance from the pier. But, the stairs are not bad and they will bring your luggage for you as they have "luggage elevator". We gave the luggages to one for the hotel staffs at the pier after off speed boat and off to join a boat tour. he took care of that for us. they have free boat to hotel. we arrived at night after we done with the boat tour, it was after 8pm, had hard time to find the hotel in the dark, had to ask few ppl at near by restaurants. The front desk was nice and staffs help with us with luggages and bags. It was quiet spot, totally worth it. I prefer quiet place than crowded pier. In the morning the view is breathtaking. I will attach pics here. honestly that is the reason I booked this hotel because it looks lovely from other people's review. And hotel have few free boats schedule to the pier. some are 8ish, 9ish, 10:30am, and 12ish. we left with the 10:30 one. only took 10 minutes or so from hotel to the pier. I was lovely to stay at this resort, highly recommended. I love Phi Phi island, will recommend this to my friends whoever will go in the future.

Good quality bungalows at the end of Long Beach.

A bit of a hike up almost 150 stairs, (luggage goes up a tram) but this is the price of a nice quiet get away. In the heat of the day, it can be a bit much, but sure is good for cardio exercise and losing weight. If you are planning on going to town every day, this is the only deterrent as well as just a little far to walk. But you can easily grab a taxi long boat, and in my case I was picked up at the pier, and also given a free taxi boat ride on to my next destination when I checked out. I only stayed one night but I think they also had a few free regularly scheduled long boat taxis to town and back every day. It is a nice well maintained functioning property, with everything working properly. The wifi was ok, which might just happen to be proximity to the broadcast router. Wifi and cell data can be iffy from time to time on Phi Phi (which might not be the problem with the resort) but if you had no wifi, the cell towers are nearby so if you have a SIM data plan, it might be easier to just use that. I found generally that one or the other will always seem to be working, but just today, the cell data was down for 3-4 hours while at the beaches or roaming around downtown. The free breakfast was cooked to order, and tasty...with a million dollar view. Hopefully you also get a bungalow with the view off your deck. This makes it all worthwhile. A solid 3 star, which would be higher if not for all those darn steps, but I would stay here again because it is a nice well run place.

Great spot, beatiful views, friendly staff.

We came to HIP to celebrate my birthday as part of a larger trip around Thailand and were very happy with the decision. We were met at the ferry pier from a HIP rep who arranged a long tail boat ride over to the resort where they took our bags up the steps for us. Your legs might get wet getting out of the boat, so think about shoes and pants accordingly. There are 147 steps to the top, but don't let this stop you from booking the place. You are greeted with a cold towel, fresh juice, and welcoming staff at the top. The bungalow was great, with a fabulous view, nice porch (they sell beer so get one for a good sunset). There is only a curtain separating bedroom from bathroom in case you desire more privacy. HIP has a good breakfast with a nice view. The staff goes above and beyond. They coordinated several boat rides and snorkeling trips for us (take private boat to snorkel around island instead of being with drunk tourists on crowded speed boat and pay to go out to see a sunset). We had laundry done, which was convenient. Warned up water might mess up white clothes and we appreciated honesty. Resort is situated at end of Long Beach, but there is a walkable, neat trail that leads to town and boat rides are cheap back and forth. The best food we had was at Blue Moon, which is the first restaurant at the bottom of the stairs. Reward yourself for climbing up and down with beer and delicious, spicy curries made from local grandmas. Cheap, amazing, and you can't beat the view.

Room had everything we needed.Area was great as was alot more peaceful away from the centre of Phi Phi. We had a collection and drop off from the centre included and hotel offers a cheap taxi service as well! Only issue is the hotel is not suitable for disabled guests as there are around 10 flights of stairs to get to the hotel...which was tiring even for a gym goer!

I’ll explain the rating in great detail. Hotel views: to die for, amazing! Such a great spot high up and amazing views. Ask for the grand view or room 31. Best view on the property! Hotel staff: communication is key. Not enough here, had to go out of my way to ask millions of questions because nothing was explained to us. Trying to get them to complete something was a mission as well, asked for a room upgrade without issues with cost, took them forever, seemed like they didn’t want to even though the rooms were empty. Lots of stairs which is not an issues for me but if you are old or have issues walking hiking, not the best spot. Monsoon season may-October boats cannot dock at local shore(Long Beach) requires guests to hike 10 minutes to a near by beach. Another possible issue for some guests. Breakfast was pretty good, very uncoordinated, every morning I got the wrong items I ordered. Asked for cereal one day never got it so I just left. Staff needs to be better with communicating with each other and making sure things get done. Or at least check in with the guests. No idea how the cleaning system worked, never saw any room service or anything, thought we were just on our own until on our last day there came back and the room was made up somehow. Little things that really drive a resort to the next level were missing, genuine customer service, communication, some sort of transportation. Get a golf cart. Mostly good, improve on staff guest cordination. This could be toppick

Nice hotel with a great view

Great hotel with a beautiful view and can see Maya Bay island. It is located away from the pier & night life, but you do need to take a longtail boat (taxi) to the hotel and back to the pier. The boat guy that was scheduled to take me to Maya Bay early in the morning, so I can get there before it gets crowded, showed up 20 minutes late. Then he dropped me off with another longtail boat so they can take me instead, and that took up more of my time to beat the crowd. The linens in the room were a bit dirty but i didn’t mind. Overall the room was comfortable, with great shower, and good A/C. Their breakfast was delicious and so was their pad thai I had for dinner.

Fantastic hotel, great price and value

Stayed here for 3 days and wish I stayed longer. This hotel had the best customer service, booked our private island tour through them, picked us up at the ferry and brought us back to the ferry after checking out as well. The staff were very friendly and always eager to help. The breakfast was good with an amazing view of the ocean. Individual bungalows gave good privacy and good view. Rooms were very clean, bed was very comfy and soft. The hotel was also less than a 5 minute walk away from long beach and had a couple restaurants and a bar on the beach as well. The only downside was that the stairs up into the bungalows were very tiring and I would say was about 5 flights? However, I think that the stairs are worth it. Taxi boats to the main town can be from 150 baht in the day and 200 baht in the night, does build up but still definitely think it is worth it. Good for people wanting a more quiet and romantic stay, not for those who only want to party, as it quite far party beach.

Great stay!!!

This resort was great, true to the pictures! There was a hike up some stairs because it’s on a hill but they have a trolley to take your luggae up, so that’s good. The room was nice and clean no bugs, great AC. Our main concern was the bugs since this island is very green and naturey and when looking around for our perfect hotel in Koh Phi Phi many reviews indicated bugs. However, this particular hotel didn’t have weird bugs crawling in our room, bed was comfortable and the AC was great. The wifi was a little funky will work off and on but besides that the resort itself was great. They pick you up for free at the ferry on a longtail boat, return back to the ferry at check out is 100bht per person like $3usd. Breakfast was good and you select what you want before hand as this is made per order, great view from the hotel. The staff was nice and friendly, provided info for mayabay 3hr hour tour, along with restaurant and market 10 min walk on the beach. This resort is also on the quiet side of the island which was good. There was no bar, but they did have beer for sale, plus if you’re on the beach there are alot of bars and restaurant you can grab drinks at. Overall we had a great experience definitely recommend.

When arriving off the ferry, staff was easily located and put us onto a longtail boat quickly. In no time we arrived at the hotel. Luggage was taken up for us and we had a lovely welcome with drinks. When arriving at our sea view room my partner and i could only say "wow", it was absolutely breath taking.
