This was a great property for a stay in London! Very walkable to shopping and dining, plus easy access to public transit. Only miss was that the bathroom had no fan so it got very steamy and wet while showering. Room was small but comfortable, perfect for a reasonably priced stay in London.

We got a room where the sink would not drain. After multiple attempts to fix it we were given another room. The sink would not drain there either. We reported it and they came did a partial fix where they removed the stopper.

The hotel overall is avarage. The breakfast serves the same meals all over, the staff is not friendly and the coffee machines are not working. The worst is the cleaning staff, they don't really clean ans just make the beds, but they don't clean the bathrooms and they didn't replenish water and face tissues. The good is the location although surroundings are not pretty.

One night stay

Flew over for the Arsenal v west ham game and Matilda the musical with my husband and 2 kids. Lovely hotel and staff were great. Our room wasnt ready, so concierge kept our bags aside . The only issue was the shower head was loose and the water sprayed out onto the floor. We reported it to the front desk . All in all a lovely trip

Comfy

Impressive lobby, smooth check in, helpful staff. Room was large enough for a family and comfy beds. Had asked for portacot on my reservation form which we didn't get, but in the end just slept with baby in double bed which was fine. The room was fine, clean enough, though being particular about these things as we had little kids who played on the floor I noticed it was generally a little grubby - maybe just a bit old? nothing enough to complain about, but the floor wasn't particularly well vacuumed, some rubbish under bed, finger marks on workbench and back of chairs, streaks of old mascara on mirror. Not a huge deal but these small things would have prompted me to give more stars I think.

Great but Lifts need attention.

2nd stay at the Hilton Metropole. Room nice but a little tired compared to the one we had last year. Staff lovely. Breakfast great. GF and DF options. Good labelling. The west lifts needs attention. One wouldn't go anywhere, one had shaky doors, one would go from floor 12 to the ground but the doors wouldn’t open! We had to go up to floor 1 and get out there. Another 2 families had the same and were worried about getting stuck. Reported to a porter.

Extremely disappointed with my stay at Hilton, this has been my 7th visit this year and regularly choose to stay here for myself and my family and I also book for others or they have booked this hotel For me. However, I will not be recommending anyone to stay here nor will I stay again. The whole experienced ruined my weekend and me and my young vulnerable children with medical needs fell very poorly and are now back at home over 2 hours away to be seen by our out of hours specialist doctor. We checked in absolutely fine, they even allowed us to check in a touch earlier as our room was ready, pleased with the room it was spacious but as you can imagine little walking space with 2 large beds, a sofa bed and a cot (family of 5) with the eldest 6 and the youngest 1. There was no hand soap to wash hands with. They didn’t replace this until around 10pm at night. We set off our day but when we came back the room was absolutely freezing and the heating system would not go beyond 19 and the fan didn’t work to blow any heat in. The main TV did not work either so I’m left with three shivering children and when I spoke to guest services they kept saying someone will Be there within 10 - 15 minutes. We repeatedly rang guest services after the 15 minutes was over and they kept saying the same thing. My husband went downstairs to the main reception desk and the staff very bluntly said yes we are cold too! In absolute disbelief of zero support my my young children being warm

Size of room for family was great. Breakfast was lovely. Very convenient for transport links via Edgware tube station. Otherwise I wouldn’t recommend- the room was not well cleaned. Glass covered some surfaces with very evident dirt, dust and dried spills underneath. Unfortunately every time we had an issue it was mentioned that we had booked through Expedia, not sure why they felt this was necessary to highlight! Had requested contact info prior to arrival as was trying to arrange a surprise for a special birthday and the information sent, listed the email as ——-@——- . Definitely an issue for the Hilton when customers booked through Expedia.

After staying in a few hilton hotels in different countries i have determined hilton is no more for me. Although the entrances are always nice the rooms are always dated and the price is OTT every time. I have stayed in much more lavish hotels for cheaper prices. Would not recommend

When I checked in the receptionist she did not greet me with a smile or anything. She was quite stuck up and did not have great customer service at all. On top of that, she gave me a room that did not exist at all. I went to the floor as she stated and the room number did not exist. I then had to go back to reception and the other receptionist told me the room did not exist. It took around 20-25mins to sort this out and the lack of customer service was evident. I would have preferred a little more welcoming atmosphere. On top of all that when I asked about the car parking situation at the hotel, the receptionist just said she doesn’t know anything about it and it’s not linked to the hotel in anyway. On the signage it’s clearly labelled at Hilton hotel car park which is managed by an external company. How can the people that work at the hotel not know anything. It was a disaster. On a positive note the next day when in the breakfast area, the hosts were amazing. They were so accommodating and welcoming and were so lovely.

I wouldn't stay again unless they rennovate

We came to London for the weekend with friends. We each stayed in a different wing and both were very worn out and not to the standard that matched the price of 200 pounds per night. Our room also smelled like smoke even though all rooms at this point should be smoke free. The staff was kind and the restaurants were decent, but we definitely wouldn't stay again. Everyone was disappointed. The Edgeware tube station is nearby so it's relatively easy to get anywhere in London.

Bathroom Steam Issues at a Great Hotel

The hotel was fantastic, with no issues to report, except for the bathroom. The paint was peeling due to the steam from the shower, as the extractor fan wasn't powerful enough to handle it. The steam buildup was so excessive that water would actually run down to the floor and create puddles.

nice hotel but has some issues

2 nights in a standard 2 bedded room, 13th floor. Room ok, comfortable and clean but worn and in need of a refurb. I left a snag list at reception for them to address the issues in the room we were given. Public areas of hotel lovely, well presented and clean. Had breakfast both days, buffet choice good, plenty for even the fussiest of people. We ate well. On the day we left unfortunately 1 lift I used stuck on a floor, I got out as did others in it, but when we went to check out the lift we were in stopped at ground but doors did not open. Pressed alarm, no noise and no answer which is a worry. It took us up 1 floor and we dragged cases down the stairs for our own safety. I did report this at reception, and along with my room snags, and I have recieved a partial refund. I would happily stay there again as it is very convenient when coming in from Heathrow. I have stayed there before, but would hope for a slightly more modern room

I paid two family rooms. When I got there, we had only the option of one family room in a very degraded area of the hotel, which has not been renovated. It actually looked like an 19th century scary movie. The hotel staff took almost two hours to figure out what to do and finally they gave us three extremely small rooms with no place to put our bags and not even in the same corridor of the hotel floor, despite the fact that we traveled with 3 children, and they knew about it. We were promised to be transferred to a family rooms, as we have previously paid, but it never happened. The hotel employee told me we were unlucky as we arrived late at night and after a big group, which took the remaining family rooms. I told them it should not matter but it did not help in any way. During the stay I tried to talk to all the duty managers available and they all promised me the same thing. At our final night they offered one family room in a better are of the hotel, but only one (we had payed for two!!). The kids would have to sleep on the couch and of course I said no. In the final day of our stay, the hotel manager told me I’d have a free night as a PRIZE for the inconvenience we had, and I’d get points for our Hilton Honors Membership. This was probably the worst hotel experience of my life, as I had payed for something I never got, despite travelling with my kids. I hope this will reach Expedia managers and Hilton staff, so that it never happens with anyone else.

Average stay overall

The stay was average. Few of the staff were fairly rude especially at the Reception counters. We understand it was holiday season, but expected better from Hilton Brand. But the folks at Concierge desk were really good. Thanks to all of them, they were super busy but very friendly, serving with smile and always helpful. Thank you. The location though not very central but is quite decent. With 2 Underground Tube lines, going most of the places were a breeze.

Great location and breakfast

This was by far the most comfortable of the 4 hotels we’ve booked for this 2 week trip in the UK. The breakfast was superb, the location is great. The reason for the one star deduction are the pillows!! They’re as flat as pancake and made it near impossible to sleep comfortably. In the end, we just put towels underneath.

Good location but older hotel.

The Hilton metropole is situated in a nice location not far from many of London’s sights. However, the room was a bit outdated with its bathroom and carpet. There was a leaky bathroom faucet and lots of hair underneath the bed. The rooms need a renovation.

Our stay was comfortable. Our 2 children ages 7 and 9 enjoyed the hotel as well. Hyde Park was a 15-minute walk , and there was an underground outside the entrance of the hotel (round the corner). We stayed on the 11th floor and the view from the large room window was amazing. The only thing to mention for improvement was that the QR code for the in-room dining was not working so could not see the menu. I called guest services to order. However, the food came packed in paper bags- i think it was take out from the downstairs restaurant.

"A Frustrating Stay at Hilton London Metropole – Met with Indifference from Hilton" Our stay at Hilton London Metropole was meant to be a celebration of two milestones—my daughter’s 15th birthday and my 50th birthday. Sadly, it turned into a frustrating experience riddled with poor service and broken promises, tarnishing what should have been a memorable family occasion. From being assigned inadequate and poorly maintained rooms to enduring miscommunication and unfulfilled assurances from staff, our experience fell far short of Hilton’s reputation for quality. Even after voicing our concerns multiple times during our stay, the issues were never fully resolved. Hoping to find a resolution, I reached out to Hilton via email after our stay. Instead of a sincere acknowledgment of the distress caused, I received a cold, generic response that failed to address the gravity of the situation or show genuine concern for my frustration. This indifference only compounded my disappointment and highlighted a troubling lack of guest care within the Hilton brand. What I encountered was not just a series of service failures but an apparent systemic issue with Hilton’s approach to hospitality—marked by a lack of accountability, attention to detail, and basic courtesy. Guests deserve better, especially from a brand of Hilton’s caliber. I can no longer recommend Hilton properties, as their indifference to guest satisfaction is unacceptable.

Large but cosy

Ideal hotel for visiting London

Lovely hotel. Rooms equipped with iron and fridge. Comfy beds. Lovely buffet breakfast. 2 min walk to tube station so really easy to get around London. A great base

Room was not clean, the air smelt of must or mold (or both), the blinds barely closed and the shower head was not attached to the railing on the wall (had been broken off). Overall a terrible experience.

The hotel is only a block away from the Underground station, so that's very convenient. There was a bar and restaurant on the main floor, so that was convenient too. Weirdly, from an American point of view, you could bring a glass of wine to your room, but not a cocktail. I had two excellent, small Manhattans in the bar, but had wanted to drink them in the quiet of my room. I don't understand their rule. The road was noisy and so was the television from the next room. I overcame that with white noise from my phone, plus a speaker. Breakfast was expensive, since as a woman, I can't eat that much. The room was very clean, as well as the bathroom. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Room service came in a bag, rather than a tray, which felt like take-out, rather than upscale hotel service. For the price, I've enjoyed quieter and more classy hotels, but we did have everything we needed there.

Liked close access to the Underground and to Paddington Rail Station. If you like Mediteranian cuisine there's plenty of very good options nearby.

Comfy bed, great location.

Discovered we had rooms on different floors at check in & were told they could not be changed. After a brief discussion with management, the rooms were indeed changed to being very close by. Offered a free breakfast & lounge access too, so we were very happy. Cocktails/drinks in the bar were extortionate and absolutely tiny! Go elsewhere for a nightcap.

No room service. Despite twlling the room service personnel upon leaving to clean room 993 they dont do anything. Came back in evening with 2 babies and room was not clean. What waa the charges for then? You book premium for the services but get nothing in return. Would have been better in a premier inn with better service External doors are closed on side entrance so have to go all the way around Reception was over occupied

The location is perfect between the Colosseum and Termini train station. It was safe to walk around at night and the best gelato was across the street in the park.

Disappointing Stay.

Nice location, and good sized room. All a bit fawlty towers from arrival to leaving. We were on 20th floor, lifts broke and it was choas trying to get to and from room. One morning no hot water, had to have a cold shower, on morning two water was dangerously hot and wouldnt cool down. I raised this with reception and to be honest they werent too bothered. For the price of this hotel and with it being a Hilton, i really expected more. Wouldn't stay again.

It is perfectly lockated, few steps to 3 lines underground. Rooms requires major renovation. Though it is chain 4-5 star hotel, yet some services are missed i.e. umbrellas offered for rental only, no slippers in the room, no shower rope, not all TV channels are working.

Absolutely lovely! Very clean and modern and while very busy, no queuing and high Hilton customer service. Very close to underground stations and lovely restaurants and sights.

The walls between rooms on 12th floor was so thin I could clearly hear the next room’s TV. The wrestling show was loud and interrupted reading and sleeping. Area around hotel has some construction and obstacles walking.

Room was lovely and clean, and appreciated the soundproofing. Breakfast was fine but very busy in the morning, and the food not very hot, but the staff were very efficient. The lifts were a nightmare and you seemed to be waiting a long time for one to arrive and these kept stopping on way up and down even though there was noone waitng for the lift.

The hotel is very large and the breakfast buffet is excellent with many options. Kept the lobby area and bathrooms very clean. The room was so dated and drab and the beds were one of the worst I have ever slept on in a hotel, so hard! I couldn’t believe how old the rooms were and small, especially for the price paid. The bathroom was not good and high instep to the shower. The worst was the power outage and therefore no AC so no airflow in the room overnight. I called 3 times and even though they offered and said they would bring a fan, they never did. Next morning, they finally brought one. Toilet paper ran out in morning, came back at night and nothing replenished. They offered a small discount at checkout that was ridiculous.
