Overall good hotel with exceptional staff.
Friendly and prompt service. Hot coffee and water available in lobby. Nice lobby. Tile in bathroom cracked. Broken piece on counter in room.
This is a very mixed review because the hotel portion of our stay was fine and the desk staff was excellent. The bartender and cook at the “separately owned” bar/restaurant … total hot mess. Ordered food, half hour went by and was told the cook forgot. NBD, I can just walk across the street but no… they said we will get your salad asap. An hour later they brought me the salad covered in nasty little bacon bits, which was what I asked to be omitted. Two plus hrs later I had to order food delivered from Chilis. UGH!
We got there and check in was suppose to be at 3 and our room was not ready til 5:30! So we didn’t even have time to get ready for our event!
I really liked the convenience of the location to different restaurants and shopping. Staff was super friendly. Also, I was only 20 minutes to the location of the plant. The only thing I did not like was that the furniture in the room was beat up and missing chunks of wood. HVAC unit would not turn off no matter what I tried.
Staff was exceptional!
Never again
This hotel is falling apart. Our room had peeling wallpaper, cracked tiles all over the place, rust stains in the bathtub. When we arrived our bed was barely made. The entire hotel smells like cigarette smoke, to the point I had to start my little girl back on her steroid inhaler for asthma. I would never stay here again. Beds are hard and uncomfortable.
It was close to my venue
Was adequate for business travel. The staff were friendly and helpful
Great property
Nice
I like my stay, the property and hotel was clean, very nice customer service but my room had a smell when i walked in and it didnt come out but overall a great stay
Everything was good
Great area in the middle of downtown.
It's fine. Room could be better.
The hotel was great, except that the pool was closed for maintenance. Our room (205) was fine except for the shower. The curtain was frayed, the tub area was junky -- sort of fixed but not nicely. My daughter, who isn't really high maintenance, wouldn't shower. Anyway, not great.
Everyone was awesome. They were very friendly and helpful
Pool closed but wasn't listed on the information. I was really looking forward to have a relaxing time in the hot tub shown in the photo. Obviously, it has been closed for awhile with the hot tub boarded over. I, also felt the room smelled musty. I would have been able to change hotels but after driving for 9 hours, I wasn't feeling up to trying a new hotel.
The Hilton Garden Inn is right downtown and close to shopping and entertainment.
This is my favorite place to stay in Tupelo!
The staff was great. Very friendly, organized and quick to check me in. There was a drink spilled on the first floor in and around both elevator doors but it was cleaned up in a timely manner. The building/room was not in the condition I would have expected from a Hilton Garden Inn location. Kind of a “run down” look to things like the bath tub/shower, wall mounted air conditioner, and dresser drawers. Location is a downtown area that is being revamped to a new more hip look with easy access to the highway, but still some transient crowd nearby, but I can’t fault Hilton for that.
Check in staff, kitchen & bar staff were wonderful!
Great stay
Meh
It would have been nice to have a complimentary continental breakfast offered. As it was, only a seemingly very overpriced breakfast was available for purchase.
Pet friendly many restaurants nearby that are pet friendly
Good place to stay, staff is great!
Moldy smell in room. It was clean but dated and smelled
Business review
The hotel was very clean including the rooms.
We were put in a handicap accessible room with a handicap bathroom. The shower had no shower curtain and the set up was very awkward. We booked a standard non smoking king room, not a handicap accessible room.
In room 207 the ceiling appears to have black mold on the ceiling furniture really needs to be replaced, the room has a horrible smell that if the carpet was still wet the bathroom racks for the handicap were all rusted I was sad even though I’m not handicap but if so this room was s not presentable along with the shower curtains ripped and torn something you would expect from a motel 6.
HILTON - THIS HOTEL NEEDS YOUR ATTENTION! What a mess. Holes in the wall, torn wallpaper, leaking roof (they had a bucket on the floor), and stains & mold on ceiling in multiple places, so leaks are not a new problem. Old,worn out carpeting. Old, scratched up furniture. Hotel is attached to Tupelo's convention center, so I'm sure it stays busy. The staff was great. They're working with what they have. But this is NOT a standard Hilton property. If it's corporate owned, someone needs to be fired. If it's a franchise, they need Hilton to take notice. Bed was comfy. I hope it was clean. I was too tired to look too closely. Next time I'll stay across the street at Tupelo Hotel.
I feel that the staff isn’t really friendly and doesn’t tell the amenities. Also, I didn’t have early check-in . I would assume that since I am a silver member in expedí and also told them ,I am a Hilton Honors member I would get early check-in.
Upgrade needed
This hotel is in terrible need for an upgrade! The rooms are very worn out, and the chairs in the loony had slip covers on them that didn’t even fit. Everything was very old and worn out.
It was a good stay, the hotel as much as i like it is aging. Like anything else needs upgrading.
The staff was super friendly and helpful And the breakfast was sooooo good
Very convenient and nice area
I drove 12 hours from Michigan to only find out that l was charged for one night of a 5 night stay and my room was no longer available. I had to reach out to a nearby Hampton for accommodation the rest of the week. At least an explanation would have helped. Not to mention the telephone system doesn’t work and there is no way to reach the staff. Customers should know this information prior to bookings. Absolutely a horrible experience. Get it together. Sincerely Allen R Bolton Sr
Beds were too hard other than that is is a nice place to stay.
Property getting somewhat run down. Close to a couple of restaurants but not too crowded.
Our room felt damp and the carpet was wet. There was also a strange moldy smell in the bathroom.
Needs some updating and better shower
Spa not working
Had an awesome time due to a convention… an employee…went above & beyond when we were at breakfast…. Eddie gave me chocolate syrup to add to my coffee and then let me keep the bottle
All good
Worst hotel EVER
Disgusting, absolutely disgusting Had to request surgery which was worse than first room. I have pictures of each ruin the carpet the filth and lack of security with doors open and not locked. Staff did not care and no manager was on duty
The room was clean an comfort. Front desk was so helpful
There are better options…
While the service was five-star, it can't make up for the worn condition of this property. The facilities have signs of age and have not been well-maintained.
Everything was very easy and nice. The keyless entry with my Hilton Honors app was fantastic. We picked our room and had everything ready before even arriving. No need to even stop at the desk for check in or check out. The room was comfortable and the staff very friendly.
So so
Front desk- nice. Room- no air conditioner until started working at 3:00am. Only 2 towels and hand towels. 4 staying - no washcloths had to go get more. Tub- rusty and room not cleaned to Hiltons standards. Need more lighting!!
The stay and room was great, but parking was an issue. When we got there there wasn't any parking and I ended up having to park a couple blocks away from the hotel.
Great hotel located within walking distance of downtown Tupelo. Plenty of dining options nearby.
The staff here were all extremely friendly! Overall amazing customer service. The bed was so comfy and I will definitely be staying here again.
my wife is handicapped. We went to an event within walking distance. The room we were given had an exit door and short walk to the event.
Rooms need to be updated. Room smelled like old cigarette smoke.
Stay went well, was charged a couple different times, but that got straightened out and money that was held for pending charges was released. The day manager when we were checki g out was great.
Staff is nice and helpful. We like having a bar and pool area available and walking distance to restaurants. I appreciate the eco efforts but would suggest more; instead of plastic one-use bottles you give out upon arrival, welcome guests to use your water, tea, and coffee station with reusable cups, at their convenience. Part of the waste bin in the room should be for recyclables that get recycled. Thx!
Bathroom sink had not been cleaned. Also there was water in the ice bucket . The mattresses and pillows were absolutely horribly uncomfortable.
Great location
Stay was excellent!!
Nice room and plenty of places to eat surrounding.
Quick Family getaway
This stay was very budget friendly, due to proximity of our reason for the trip and places to dine. The only negative I can speak on was the condition of the room. The wall behind the TV had very visible stains. The bathroom wall had a very poor patch job of a large wallpaper tear. And the controls on the AC/heat unit wear completely worn off. Luckily the kids enjoyed the indoor swimming pool, which was a definite plus. All in all, in was a good stay and negatives not enough to deter from staying again in the future.
Nice hotel in good location. The problem was it is located on a busy street and there was several loud vehicles going up and down the street in front of the hotel u til 1 am and couldn't sleep
Dirty old run down place stay away
I do not know how this property has such high reviews. I usually never leave a review but I feel obligated to. The hotel is very run down. I would be embarrassed if I were Hilton Corporation to put my name on this place. The room was run down and dirt piled up in the corners around the room, around the bed, around the toilet was disgusting. We went to use the pool and the door was jammed the staff had to let us in from another door. The hot tub was closed off and boarded up. There were obvious leaks in the roof by the hotel bar area and ceiling tiles half falling out. All of the furniture looked used and abused. Our desk was missing the handle to open the drawer and all fabric looked rough. All the carpets in the entire hotel looked like someone drug bags full of waste leaking out on them. I am not a fancy person. I usually try to find a clean hotel to sleep for the night on a trip don’t need anything crazy nice but place was horrible. I am livid for paying the price we did expecting something nice that was anything but nice. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the mass amount of mosquitoes in the pool area and our room. Over priced dive hotel stay away.
Friendly and welcoming staff. 4 stars out of 5 on cleanliness. Dryed out contacts were stuck to the night stand. Pull out sofa couch mattress very stained. White substance on bathrooom wall.
Beautiful hotel, Nice Staff
Dirty
The hotel was very dirty. The amount of dust on the walls and vents was insane. Mattresses were very thin and uncomfortable. Couch looked like someone had spilled stuff on it 100x. There was dust buildup all around the carpet. When I spoke with the front desk about the situation they offered a new room. After looking at the second room it wasn’t any cleaner so we stayed in the room we were already in. If I could have canceled and moved hotels I definitely would have.
Very nice
Cheer Competition
I was traveling for a cheer competition!
Room smelled like stale smoke and it was a nonsmoking room. Most employees were not very welcoming. Breakfast staff had drama in front of customers. Bed was comfy. Hotel is very outdated. The price is high because of the location!
The hotel is very worn. All the furniture that I saw was broken down, stained, worn out. I saw lots of holes in the walls in the hallways, and in two rooms that I happen to see the staff was very friendly. That was the best part of the hotel .
Very nice place and good services. Sleep and relax like a baby.
Beds were comfortable and the hotel itself was very nice with a great lobby and coffee and water area. As far as our room: dirty tub, someone’s sock under the bed, bottle cap under the couch. I feel the housekeepers just didn’t clean the floor or tub. Would stay again in the future.
the plumbing in the bathroom made alot of noise through the night.
The window treatments would not retract. Also they did not provide enough privacy.
Amazing
Good Stay
Friendly staff and knowledgeable great service, hotel could use upgrades, 1st room tub had mold and second room toilet clogged but staff was accommodating and friendly
The location was great but the room was less than expected for the price. Could have been cleaner and our view was of the roof. Couldn't see the city at all. Breakfast was unorganized. We had no idea what to do and no one assisted. They just let us stand there looking confused. We won't be back.
Plenty of desk space for working. Excellent and informative front desk staff. The cleaning solution used in the bathrooms give off a very foul oder. The first room, 126, smelled like something had died there. The second room, 142, had the same but much less objectionable oder.. I noticed in both rooms, the bathroom floors were sticky and the bathroom doors were closed. Nevertheless, it was a clean and comfortable room, and stay!
We stayed here 14 years ago when we came to town. This property was beautiful. Now it is outdated and the room was very dirty. We had to ask for a new shower curtain because it had mold on it. There was only half a roll of toilet paper and we had to ask for more considerating we were there for 2 days. The toilet bowl going down the front had yellow streaks caked down it. Unless you played with the handle the toilet continued to run and the exhaust fan didnt work. The hall mirror had some adult hand prints on it (looked like from some unmentionable activity). We noticed old candy wrappers and so much dust under the beds when we went to leave to make sure we didnt leave anything. Very disappointed in our stay. This property not only needs updates but proper cleaning.
Great place to stay.
The weekend staff was awesome. The rooms need updating. The room was dark and dreary.
I saw two bugs in my bathroom.
The staff is the best! I ate every night at the restaurant here and it was delicious every time!
Very friendly staff Great restaurants in walking distance No big towels in room Doors and mirrors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks.
The room smelled like stinky feet and wouldn't get cool enough, hallway smelled really good but that changed the second you opened the room door.
WIFI? Watch Out!
The hotel accommodation was excellent except for one very important and significant factor in today's communications universe. The WIFI system was deplorable! It took forever to get online and then, when it happened, there was no acknowledgement that you were finally online. This was so bad that, even though the other factors of our stay were acceptable, I will not visit this location again. A Hilton Hotel with such subpar wifi service? Amazing!
The friendliest staff and a great spot in Mississippi. Exceeded my expectations
We have stayed here a few times. Friendly staff and VERY good shower water pressure.
Hotel room had dog hairs all over the sheets and had a large stain on it. Lifts and halls were dirt. I like dogs and have one of my own but this hotel should have dedicated dog rooms so those who travel without do not have to experience the mess. Michelle bed to a cleaner room but the shower was broke.
Toilet backed up
The bathroom was absolutely gross in my room. The actual room wasn’t terribly clean either.
Checking in was quick and easy and they were super nice
Great location but our room was filthy! Definitely not worth the $20 for breakfast.
Nice place, but cleanliness could be better
The lication is what's best about this hotel, next door to the Visitors Center and in the heart of historic area. People were nice and service in the restaurant/bar area was good. However, cleanliness wasn't as good as it should have been and the hot tub appears to have been out of order for a while. The bathroom mirror was not clean, there were toenail clippings on the floor in several places and the shower curtains were long past due for replacement.
Good spot in tupelo
Great spot in downtown Tupelo. Friendly staff and the rooms are very comfortable.
Hotel needs renovation. Carpet needs to go....appliances need updating. Walls did not look clean and I don't like Pet friendly hotels!
BYO TP! This hotel was very disappointing. I travel a lot and the service at this hotel was some of the worst I’ve seen. We are out of a pandemic, so why are they no longer servicing rooms? The room rates have only gone up. We stayed four nights. No linens were replaced, no garbage bags and no toilet paper! Two rolls for four days for a family…you do the math. I asked housekeeping for garbage bags, toilet paper and towels to be replaced. I was them mocked for calling the lady m’am when I turned away by the other house keeper and the request was not fulfilled. I called the desk later about it and was told housekeeping was still working and would handle the request. Called the THIRD time and was told to come to the front desk to get it! Unacceptable for the rate they’re charging. The beds were very uncomfortable and had no mattress covers on them. #gross Pillows were junk also. No stopper in the bath m tub and the tub was rusted. Overall the facility needs an update and to step up their service! The Hotel Tupelo across the street is lovely! I suggest staying there because that’s what I’m doing next time!
The hotel was great!
Location is great. Rooms clean. Beds comfortable. I must say the staff was amazing. So very friendly and helpful!
It was close to everything. The only bad thing was the beds were uncomfortable. Otherwise great place to stay.
