Good hotel, less perks and more expensive than other Hiltons in Quito
Breakfast is until 10, went down at 9:30 and everything was empty! Had to keep asking for something, had to walk around with our mug asking for coffee or tea when first arrived. In the bar They had a Manhattan on their menu for $8! So we ordered 4 for two couples. Then he used Jack Daniels and charged $16 per glass!! And it wasn’t even a good one!! Very disappointing because once I convert a $38U.S bill for two drinks to Canadian it’s $55.00!!! We had lunch cafe Colon first day and i ordered a hamburger and it was pink when I bit into it… I couldn’t eat after that! Rooms ok but showers need fresh if up.
The rooms needs updating including the bathroom
I liked the ease of the check-in process. The facility was conveniently located, nice little bar inside, but the best part was the friendly staff.
Beautiful property. Loved the park across the street; a little far to walk to restaurants
How can they don’t provide breakfast for the customers as they didn’t mentioned this before making the reservation
The front staff were friendly but somewhat disorganized. We had requested to use the cafe area for my grandmother's birthday and were assured it would be available, with the staff even offering to sing "Happy Birthday." However, on the day of the event, no one seemed aware of our request. We were initially directed to the bar area, then told to sit outside despite the rain. A server provided less-than-satisfactory service. Additionally, we encountered difficulties with taxis outside the hotel, experiencing refusal of service and instances of the meter being turned off, resulting in inflated fares. The street vendors outside also presented a concern. I do not plan to stay at this hotel again.
We loved this property - the people the location and the room! The restaurant and bar were great. Super lovely rooms. Five days of perfection. Our tour bus would come to our hotel each day, so convenient. We could walk were we wanted and enjoyed Quito very much
Good hotel
The restaurants were closed most of the time, the staff was not trained property, they were Not prepared for business most of the days
Excelent customer service
En un excelente hotel para viajeros de negocios muy bien ubicados
Amazing property. All the staff were all polite and professional. We had breakfast at their cafe and the food and service were all amazing. The rooms were spacious and clean and quiet.
Wonderful staff, excellent location
Concierge and front desk staff were extremely professional and courteous.
What a lovely property! The breakfast was delicious 😋, the room was just perfect, and the transportation from the hotel was just the best. Kudos to Marcelo for driving us around everywhere. Ask for him if you stay there!!
Hotel wasn’t clean, staff wasn’t helpful. It was bad
Very clean and comfortable. Rooms were cleaned daily, which is rare nowadays. Very polite ands helpful staff. Would stay again.
Good for overnight
Very nice
It was a great experience
Very short trip. Appreciated the hotel organizing the taxi and giving me the option to charge to the room for my trip to and from the airport. This was a nice convenience especially given my very early morning arrival and departure times. I will definitely stay here again.
This hotel is in a great location and directly across from a wonderful park and clean and new public metro station. If you are looking for a hotel that is modern without an old smell, this is not for you. In addition, the rooms are too small for families and breakfast is not included and expensive however there are many walkable and tastful options in the area. Lastly, the concierge staff are friendly and helpful. This is hotel is perfect due to its location and staff, only.
The stay was very comfortable. Front desk was super helpful. Dining options were great.
It was OK.
The Hitel was very well represented upon first glance. The location was excellent and in a great walkable area. I really liked the hotel
The staff was friendly and efficient.
Great hotel for business travelers. I was there for a week I highly recommend taking the suite with lounge access, it is very convenient when you have long hours of work. I will go back to this hotel when I return
The Concierge, Bar & Wait Staff make this hotel so good. They go out of their way to assist & make you comfortable
Excellent facility. Great breakfast, and staff were very helpful.
Very pleased with our Hilton stay. Met expectations.
Comforable bedding, clean and spacious room, front desk responded politely and pisitively to requests.
I liked the location, the food, pool and amenities. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, there was nothing I didn't like.
Excellent stay
Service was great as well as the food.
I did like the location of the property and the proximity to the artisanal market. However, I thought the rooms were not large enough to accommodate two full beds. It was crammed. The property also needs a deep lift, the rooms and bathrooms are outdated. Breakfast is just okey.
Nice Place
It was a really nice hotel with an excellent breakfast buffet. I would stay here again if I ever go back to Quito.
One of the oldest building in town but they should upgrade in all expect, for an example beds size were very small. Swimming pool timeing from 10 am to 5 pm what a joke, very dirty any noisy windows.....
Good stay. Well located. We had early check in and late check out easily without any charge , really appreciated.
Good Hotel Expensive breakfast buffet
The hotel was very clean and the staff are helpful. My only complaint is their breakfast buffet is very expensive for the kind of stuff that they served in their buffet. We were there with a tour group but we extended our stay with this reservation and when I asked how much is their buffet I decided that it was not worth it.
THE place to stay in Quito.
Great place to stay in Quito - comfortable and great 24hr service for getting around the city. The most comfortable room I've had of about 10 different places in Ecuador. The concierge is fantastic.
Staffs very helpful and nice.
Great view . Terrible staff charged me more for having a guest when I had a sweet the price was the same for 2 people they charged me 50 dollars a day for my guest because supposedly they couldn’t fix my reservation accidentally broke a lamp and they tried to charge me 400 dollars for it and also tried to charge for a handle on a door I didn’t brake from the second I hit there I can tell they were trying to get more money from me terrible
Well Located and Affordable Hotel in Quito
A fine stay in a well located hotel. Across the street from a park and near several museums, and about a 20 minute walk from the historical center area. Very nice and generally affordable onsite restaurant. We stayed for two nights, and would happily stay again.
Me gusto la ubicación, no me busco algunos trámites como solicitar facturas. demoran mucho.
Excellent
Nice and clean
Great stay! The staff was super helpful and the hotel was very conveniently located. Would stay again.
This is a great place to stay, close to everything. The staff is always eager to please. The rooms need to be updated, it has to move with the times if it wants to stay above the rest. The lighting in the rooms needs to improve, the lighting might be fine for men, but women apply make up and brighter light is necessary. I would recomment this hotel but maybe next time I will try another hotel that is more updated. My 9 day stay here were good, but I would like it to be better.
The staff was very helpful
Beautiful hotel, very clean, and great staff service.
Location was central and the park across the street was nice.
The hotel it was nice and clean and the people are perfect
Excellent staff. Very clean and the staff was very helpful!
Nice hotel, attentive staff, good location
A good choice for a visit to Quito. We checked in and out of the Hilton Colon hotel 3 times in December 2019, coming and going through Quito between visits to different parts of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. The consistent experience was that all the staff at the reception desk spoke English and were very efficient. All the staff throughout the hotel and restaurant were very attentive and helpful. Rooms and beds were comfortable. The location is in downtown, near shopping areas, banks, stores, some market areas with lots of small vendors selling various local goods, and within walking distance to the old town area (about 20 minutes or so). For an additional fee per person you can have access to a nice lounge area on an upper floor with a amenities and a nice view of the city. It also includes a happy hour there each evening with wine, beer and some cocktails options (gin, vodka, whiskey, etc.) and ample appetizers. Enough to be our dinner on one evening. This also includes breakfast the next morning, so considering what one could spend on just some drinks in the hotel restaurant/bar, this can be a good deal. One problem that annoyed me, and it is a common one in hotels, is that lighting in the rooms in the evening was not bright enough for comfortable reading, even the desk lamp was not very bright.
Safe, clean, and expertly run hotel. Well prepared and varied menu at the restaurant/ cafe. Well appointed and comfortable room.
Comfortable hotel, nice bar with great food. Friendly and helpful staff.
Everything was fine . Stayed there just one night . 16 hrs
Nice hotel, central location
It was great for the most part. Very nice hotel in the center of Quito. I would recommend handling your own bags. We allowed them to bring them to our room and it took 30 minutes as they had a bunch of other bags to deliver as well.
The room with it's view was excellent but the restaurant menu could offer a lot more variety.
Basic amenities in a great location
Hotel is dated and it shows. Location is convenient for walking around “Old Town” to explore the city.
Great Hotel, clean and excellent customer service.
The Hilton Colon and staff are always attentive, accomodating, and with the guests best interest /safety in mind. The central city location is ideal for Quito access and known well by all tour companies. Executive floor room/access truly complement the level of service offered by this hotel. Muchas gracias Hilton Colon Quito for a memorable stay.
I liked the place and the fact that it was clean but we arrived a few hours earlier and the staff member who eventually checked us in was not helpful, she was very dismissive. Other than that, good place and good location.
Great concierge desk. Very helpful and suggested a great city guide.
Concierge does not really help with tours and activities...you have to ask very specific questions. It took them 4 days to give me a map of the city. Buffet breakfast was not great. slow and rarely replenish. Executive suites are in a very noisy part of hotel..hotel noise, trash trucks in AM and PM, traffic, and wedding at hotel where they allowed the music to blast until 2am..regardless of our calls/complaints. House keeping was fantastic. Check-in was smooth and they allowed us to check-in an hour early. Location is good and felt very safe. Need key card to even move in the elevator.
We loved the views of Quito and the heated pool. And also the 17th floor lounge. Gracias!
Great helpful and friendly service, but rooms have no heating. Had to ask for a portable heater.
The atmosphere is too dark in the lobby and lounge area. Need some brighter and lighter colours to give a cheerier atmosphere.
Excellently location.,friendly and helpful staff. Spacious rooms.
They were not any available outlets in the room except one in the corridor. The bathroom was not cleaned and I had no shampoo. I asked for a delayed check out which was offered in the supplement I payed and they gave me only one hour. Very disappointed
Great experience. Would highly recommend!!!
I enjoyed staying at the Hilton Colon. The location is eccellent. The staff superb. Everyone was courteous and helpful. Couldn’t ask for more. Would highly recommend. I was upgraded to the executive level.
Hilton quality that one would expect. Very friendly staff.
Hilton Quito
Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. I love how they had the group forms already completed to expedite check-in. Breakfast was delicious! Convenient to many shops and parks.
Really nice and attentive staff. Room is very comfortable. Restaurant on site is excellent. Close to shopping and a lovely park.
Well located fine hotel with great breakfast buffet. Pool is very warm.
Had to ask for extra towel for third guess every day and extra coffee/sugar everyday
It is centrally located and convenient. Has excellent food and services. Nothing to complaint about.
The hotel is nice and staff is very friendly. The rooms are a little small and I expect a higher quality restaurant with Hilton.
Nice hotel, close to shops, great restaurants, and public transportation with easy access to the historic city center.
I expected more from a Hilton and for the price I paid. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was sub-par with not many choices. Parking was a plus. Proximity to major attractions was good. The room was small with a view to a wall. I could have gotten a much better room with a better experience for the $200 a night we paid for this hotel.
Wonderful stay
Wonderful! Very very helpful on where to go and prices.
Upscale hotel in New Town Quito
This hotel has all the amenities one would expect from a Hilton plus a lovely entrance lobby. We very much enjoyed the add on (only $40 ) of free happy hour, snacks all day, and breakfast. Very well stocked and delicious. Quito is spread out so it is a bit of a drive to both Old Town and the Equator.
A good choice for Quito but not cheap.
A good property in a convenient (for food) location although it is 10 minutes taxi from the historic centre. But you wouldn't want to stay at the historic centre anyway given it's reputation for petty crimes after dark. Hotel is typical of a US chain. Service was professional. Breakfast was buffet and acceptable. Concierge service was OK although not as friendly as other places in South America. Info provided was generally good except for 1 concierge who said we can walk to the historic centre in 15 minutes ...... not possible as it is uphill and also I would not recommend it given the neighbourhood you have to walk through. Probably safe in the day with local knowledge but I'd still recommend you take a taxi. Housekeeping was good too ad friendly.
Good Enough, but Location....NO
All the comfort you should expect from this upscale hotel chain. Cooly professional staff, only real friendliness is from the housekeeping persons. Location is this hotel’s worst quality. Plan a longish walk or taxi ride to find nicer shopping or meal choices. We had a hard time locating an acceptable alternative to the quite expensive breakfast offered by the hotel. Walk out the front door to face noisy traffic congestion and sleazy-looking little commercial outlets. Other big-name chain hotels (like Sheraton) are better located.
Pleaseant
Love this country . Kind people, courteous Interesting things to do Great hotel and staff
Shame on us for not learning spanish before our trip. The staff made sure we were taken care of and referred us to an amazing guide. We will gladly stay there anytime.
Not to the level of a Hilton
No water or fridge in the room. No room service after midnight. I used their Japanese restaurant, it was empty no staff and no chef. I was assured it was open... The temperature was extremely cold and uncomfortable, the place very dark and the floor wet. After 15 minutes a server showed up, the chef showed up 10 minutes later. The food took about 15, the quantity and quality of the food was very poor. This was easily the worst Japanese restaurant I ever tried. I moved to the Marriot about a mile away for about $10 more dollars a night and the difference is like night and day.
Wonderful Location, Amazing View, Fantastic Stay!
Easy walk to Artisans market, local restaurants, easy to pick up a bus tour. Staff were incredibly courteous and professional. The views from the hotel room were Awesome! Would definitely stay again!
Short
Family emergency Nice service Great rooms Short Friendly Clean
Good hotel but many of the amenities like pool and spa were not available
Beautiful city and a nice, central hotel to explore Quito. Staff was great!
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
it is a big hotel, kind of old... it is centrally located but the service is terrible. we also had food poisoning-- the hotel staff was not helpful, gave us an attitude, and simply not compassionate. Looking professional and being indifferent are 2 different things.
Great view of the city
Quite a ways from the new airport but a great central location in the city for shopping and sightseeing.
Service was amazing
Polite. Ecuador is the best, period. Amazing experience More than i expected
My stay st the Hilton Colon Quito was very lovey and the staff did a great job. Ideally located near Plaza Foch where all the restaurants and clubs are located.
Clean. Newly renovated lobby. Beautiful!
Loved the real roses in the lobby! Staff really nice.
NOT SAFE, RUDE PERSONNEL,UNDERSTAFFED,DANGEROUS.
My wife(66), and I (79) were brutally assaulted when we walked into a ballroom where a party was going on. We had no idea that it was a private party, we were not advised, we thought it was for the hotel guests. After we sat down to watch people dance, a man came to us , I thought I had to pay, I took my wallet out, and the man snatched it out of my hand. We were brutally pushed out by five men, our money stolen, and we suffered bruises , we were insulted , I must add we are both disabled. It was an experience we will never forget. Hotel security came to rescue us after they heard the commotion. We were in a foreign country and there was nothing we could do. We are both USA citizens. We thought the hotel management would give some attention to the matter, but we heard nothing, and we feel that this incident was overlooked.
Good rooms, food terrible
The rooms are roomy and comfortable and the staff are very pleasant. Only one restaurant, really a cafe. Breakfast was included but the food was very average. Best to have them cook an omelette. Be careful at the bar. The white wines were good value but spirits can be very expensive. I ordered a gin and tonic and it cost nearly US$18.

great location especially if you get a room with a view.
