Good property, value for money. Would recommend for sure.
Great view from our balcony, helpful staff, cheeky monkeys, lovely local garden restaurant, 200 rupees for a rickshaw back from the Ram Jhula or Lakshman Jhula [bridges], don't need one for the walk down as it's a short distant. good drop in yoga classes.
Beautiful location and good hospitality
The stay was awesome. However the food was just average. We have been to their super deluxe room which was great in comfort and view. However the bath tub quality needs to be improved. It was pathetic.
Nice hotel in rishikesh
Comfortable hotel but bit on the higher ground . Old people can not walk so much .
Hotel is good enough but staff members are greedy.
I had checked in on 31st may. First day they gave me room same as it showed in the website and next day they shifted me in Bhandari cottage and they told me that you have to shift in standard room and the room was already standard they shifted me just because they got some more clients those are paying extra and they shifted me in other hotel I checked out the same time. Worst hotel pathetic staff !
It was over all good it's just AC was not working and they rectified next morning. Which is ok,
Overall, our stay was okay. We were expecting an AC room would be provided to us and it turns out that we really booked a non-AC room? Hotels.com should clearly display whether the selected room is an AC or non-AC so that there won't be any confusion during check-in.
Very Good Ambiance, Good location, Very nice food served.
In terms of location its a bit difficult to reach-out especially if you were to depend on public transport. Deluxe room was spacious, good bedding and furnishing, big windows that offers great view.
This hotel is a gem! Staff was amazing. The yoga studio is the nicest in the town. Restaurants in the area are great. Under renovations Feb2018 but no issues with noise.
Great views!
Be prepared to climb up, up, and up. Good staff. Friendly and helpful. Room adequate. Views great. Several good restaurants in immediate vicinity. Hard to park. Hard to figure out which Swiss Cottage when you first arrive, as there seems to be half a dozen.
Great hotel for the price. Lovely staff, lovely room, great wifi, cool balcony. Awesome value for money.
Normal Stay
its jan 2017, this hotel was good but not excellent, we went here 2nd time, but at this time we suffers by power backup, because this hotel does not have any power backup. but besides all this overall hotel is good
Rustic Indian Splendour!
Loved staying here. As a westerner, the price seems too amazing. Of course, this is a hilltop yoga hotel in a town known for simplicity. The room was an ample size, and the staff were sweet and very helpful. If you have an aversion to hiking up a steep hill to get to your accommodations, then find a place closer to the centre of town. I personally loved feeling like I was trekking to go home from the bank of the Ganges, but I know that's not everyone's cup of tea.
Mindblowing
it's excellent
the best rejuvenation and heeling place
When say haridwar or rishikesh , Swiss cottage is the best. Owner Nishant ya Mr Veer and all staff are always ready to support with smile, constantly visiting and might permanent place to visit this area.
Happy stay
Short stay, but loved it. Veer was very helpful. The only hitch is that cars cannot drive up to the hotel reception; you got to walk up the slope about 100 Meters or so. But the hotel staff help fetch your baggage. So not really a bother for those who do not mind the walk up.
Good location! Uninterested staff!
Front Desk people aren't much interested in helping! Very laid back as if they don't care that you have paid to come to the hotel/cottage/whatever it was!!! Most Electrical points don't work!! Surrounding area is good and quite with great restaurants Never think about eating at the Oasis restaurant from where they bring the Room Service food!! Very rude and unprofessional staff from the restaurant!
Excellent option to relax in a quiet place!
nicely cleaned room @ superb hilly location...however, the uploaded pics are probably misleading...there is rare possibility that you'd see Ganga from room... perhaps, hotel doesn't have own kitchen and food will be served from a nearby restaurant...But, the food quality is indeed excellent...
Great little sanctuary.
We really enjoyed staying here. It's located on a hill that's like a little sanctuary away from the busy town. The Shiva festival was happening so we were thankful for this. Lots of amenities nearby and a great view from the room. Veer was very helpful and even watched our bag for a couple days when we left for a trek. My only complaint was that the fridge and TV didn't work (but I'm sure they would have fixed if it were a big enough deal to ask), and the bathtub was a bit dirty but nothing to run screaming from. Overall, I would highly recommend this location.
Average stay but value for money.
Rooms were good though some signs of water seepage on one of the walls. Had some roaches in the room. Washroom was more than good for a budget hotel with bathtub and clean. My stay costed around 3000 rs for 2 nights.
Not a "Hotel" - Decent Budget Transit HomeStay
Least to say, okay for a 1 night stay as transit, if with family. Otherwise for group travel with friends, okay as a budget accomodation.
The place to be in Rishikesh !! Peaceful
Hill Top Swiss Cottage lives upto its name. Located on high bank of Ganga, the hotel is situated in a extremely beautiful location. The rooms were spacious with all the amenities. A small fridge and bathtub in the room was added advantage. The rooms were clean and nicely done. The best part of the hotel is its cafe. Situated between the orchard its a perfect place to hang out in the evening with rock music playing in the background. It was perfect to start your day with a yoga and then a big breakfast. The staff does everything to make you comfortable. They make you feel at home. I was lucky that other travelers at the hotel become close friends. We went for rafting and it was most funny enjoyable experience. It was a much needed relaxing break which I was looking for. Thanks to the hotel staff who made it possible.
Young/Old
Hotel is on top height, so only young age can feel joy. This hotel is not made for old age people.
Great room, great views, good food, nice host. Recommended.
Nice hotel with a good view
Big, comfortable and clean rooms. Balconies provide a nice view of Rishikesh. Friendly and helpful staff - arranged a taxi to Haridwar at a short notice. Overall a good experience !!
A lovely guesthouse away from the bustle
Really nice guesthouse in the hills above Laxman Jhula. It's about a 20 minute walk down to the Laxman Jhula bridge or you can get a rickshaw. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Fantastic stay
The hotel is located in lap of nature. We got a stunning view of Himalayas and the Ganges from our balcony. The surrounding jungle invites you to watch dancing peacocks. Chirping of birds wakes you up and while you take the first sip of your morning tea you are thrilled by giant mountains.
Beautiful Views
I had a great stay at Hilltop. The customer service was excellent and they helped us from the moment we arrived. Provided extra blankets when we asked and were very helpful with tips to get around town. Our room had an amazing view and a bathtub which was a nice surprise. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well. I will come again. Also had AC.
Top spot
Fantastic location secluded up the valley away from town with great views and attracting a nice crowd. Lovely place to chill out and while away the time.
Basic Place to stay .
very basic place to stay ... My room was full of toilet smell as i checked in ... No soaps in toilets ... All extra blankets were gone ... Roof top has a nice view though . Staff was very polite and humble ...
Choose This above All
Only hotel with Excellent Forest View Balcony Quiet Serene Superb Food Nice People
Relaxed and Peaceful
Last time I was in this hotel in 2012 and had a pleasant stay which made me come back. Few staff faces have changed but as always helpful and smiling. I noticed that the service level has increased and you people are now no less than the other big “expensive” hotels of Rishikesh. I have never seen an unsatisfied guest here. The rooms are clean, quiet and spacious. The blanket covers which was not there before when I came last time made it more clean. Room prices are worth the value. The views are amazing. Food is good. Thanks for everything and will go nowhere whenever I am in Rishikesh.
Booking mistake did not become a disaster
I did not stay in the room I booked because I had made the mistake of booking on the wrong date! But the hotel was good enough to provide us a basic room for a night without any charge when we arrived late on the next day! It was very nice of them to do that for us. The place where the hotel was located was nice and had a very good restaurant nearby (Raasta Cafe).
Terrible stay!!!!
Terrible! Power loss happened often, it was very cold during January and no heater made it unbearable. They finally gave me little heater but that kept dying bc of power outages. Staff was not friendly. It's too far from the major attractions and yoga classes.
Very nice location midway to the hills.
It was a 3 night stay with my wife. The room was neat & clean and too cozy and comfortable to stay in with all amenities inside the room. Enough privacy and cool and silent place to enjoy the nature. Though you need to walk to a hight till your room, this is worth it. Not more then a couple of staff but good room service for food and all. I recommand this to all.
bad experience
Worst experience Room was on third floor no lift... The water heater was not working No hot water given on manual order and at night when we return to room the bathroom drannage was leaked so room was smelling very dirty so at last changed the room
Comfortable and well priced
The hotel is well located near Lakshman Jhula and the facilities are good the price.
Excellent Stay
I have been here with my wife. Its hill view is very fascinating, Food is also good.
Quiet and comfortable
Great place, comfortable, clean, nice staff. Would stay there again,
Fun if you're young
This is not a luxury hotel experience. Instead, think barebones accomodation, a water heater you need to turn on, a broken shower head, and monkeys outside the window. But if you can get past the dingy-ness, the surrounding hills are beautiful, the free yoga pleasant, and the entire Swiss Cottage area full of young people, many Israeli, fun places to hang out, and opportunities to make new friends. The staff were also polite and helpful.
COMFORTABLE STAY
THE STAFF WAS GOOD AND FOOD QUALITY & RATES WERE V. GOOD. ONLY ISSUE WAS THAT ON PHONE THE MANAGER CONFIRMED TO HAVE PRIVATE CAR PARKING FACILITY. BUT IN ACTUAL THEY HAD NO CAR PARKING FACILITY. WE HAD PARK IT ON ROAD SIDE AT FAR OFF PLACE. THE CAR WAS SCRATCHED BY SOMEONE IN NIGHT.
Picture-perfect mountain retreat
A gorgeous view of the Himalayas, in a peaceful and secluded part of Rishikesh. Comfortable room and great service. The highlight of a large trip through India. Extremely reasonable rate.
great location, mind the wild life.
Great place to stay, had to be up graded as room was re-let even though we phoned to let them know we would be late arriving. great food on site and service. realy chilled out place to stay, just mind the odd scorpian and spiders in room.
friendly staff
The staff are wonderful they will help with everything and anything you need, the bed was big and Conwy and the bathroom was lovely. And what a view! Wow! The ganges beautiful.
Fantastic stay in Rshakesh
My wife and myself had a lovely relaxing stay in the Hilltop Swiss Cottage thanks to the care and attention give n by the staff, Nishant and Jatinder in particular. They really looked after us and helped with arranging trips and getting the most out of our stay in Rishakesh. We did have one or two minor niggling issues with the room but these were quickly and courteously dealt with so not real complaints there. Whilst at the Hilltop we went on a dawn trek to see the sunrise, fantastic and well worth the 5am start. We also went on Safari to Rajaji national park which although enjoyable was a little disappointing in that we didn't see any Tigers or Leopards, and the only Elephants we saw were actually just outside the park. We did see a lot of deer, peacocks and wild pigs. There are lots of Yoga classes around Rishakesh, which my wife enjoyed attending. For places to eat I'd recommend the Devraj bookstore and cafe next to Laxmanjula bridge, the food is very good with a relaxed atmosphere and good view over the bridge. I'd also recommend the Nirvana Bistro and the Rasta cafe just down the hill from the Hilltop, both have very good service and high standard of food. I'd point out that the location is not for the unfit, it is a fairly steep climb to the rooms and there are no lifts (or any realistic way of putting them in) so definitely not for the infirm but otherwise a great location far enough away from the town to be quiet but close enough to walk to the center.
Cozy mountaintop retreat
I had a very pleasant brief stay here- friendly staff, clean rooms with amazing views, appreciated the warm comforters. Room heaters would be a good addition as the temperature drops severely at night. Would definitely recommend for the backpacker. You'll fit right in with all the other Rishikesh hippies :)
A very co operative Hotel staff, nice rooms
Great and recommendable to near and dear ones.
great place to stay for the price..
staff very helpful & friendly.....we stayed in one of the luxury rooms which had a great view & was quiet...i would aSk for rom 201 - 204.....

Ok, not great
The location isn't great for all the sites. There's better option. It's quiet and peaceful, that's a plus. The room wasn't cleaned that well, found hair in the shower and on the towels. The shower is below average.
