Great beach location for a reasonable rate.

Hotel was nice, small fitness center, decent breakfast. We did have trouble checking in and were given an incorrect room type but we did switch. We booked a queen bed (they cost extra) initially had a room with two twins on opposite walls. Switched to two twin beds pushed together but the sheets were still separated so we were still in two different beds. Great location right by the beach and walkable area to shops and a laundromat. Windows opened in our room and you could see the ocean. We walked the beach area at night there was a good walking / bike path we stayed on.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Room was clean ,comfortable and quiet.

We booked 2 double rooms with 2 single beds, at arrival we were told one room has been upgraded to have 2 single beds which was disappointing as we have requested both with the booking. Then the shower didn’t work in one of the rooms, which was fixed the following day. If we didn’t have 2 rooms booked, we would have not been able to shower at all as a change of room was not possible.

Overall I am ok, but this hotel is just far from the center of the city. You will need to take a taxi everywhere. two things that are not very happy. First, you can hear everything from the street. Second, one morning I was going to take a shower around 5am, no hot water, the water just not cold.

Very nice location. Very close to the main attractions Barcelona has to offer. Clean and affordable. Staff were very happy to answer questions and offer suggestions.

Good stay with good price and near the beach. Not too close to other touristic areas. It was my birthday and they left me a little surprise/gift for when I arrived, which I really appreciated.

Junior suite was nothing like they show it in pictures. It was cramped due to poor design and it had poor amenities.

This hotel location is far from transportation station (metro , tram and train ) as well as the airport, One of staff is very rude , They market rooms with balcony when you book and come to checkin they offer different rooms than photos. This hotel comparing to other 4 stars hotel in spain and barcelona deserve 3 stars maximum I have requested late checkout at 2 pm the last night of my stay because my flight is at 7 pm , next day at 12 pm one of staff knock the door in spite of putting no disturbance sign at the door then she came in the room while I’m in my underwear….. she didn’t apologize when she saw my request of late checkout the night before …. It was very unprofessional and disrespectful

Hotel is very clean but property is old and poor service. Elevator need maintenance or upgrade. No proper instruction to call front desk or room service no matter which button is used. AC was not working. Water bottle was not provided at all even if it is charged. The only good thing about it is it was close to the conference area. Not recommended for visit. Price is high compare to other five stars hotels.

Hesperia Del Mar Barcelona

Reception Staff were helpful and friendly. Buffet Breakfast was delicious and abundant selection.Staff in dining room were very friendly and helpful..had to leave early morning for the airport, let me in early to the breakfast buffet.

Totally disgusting never again, this hotel absolutely terrible it should be €10 a night and most definitely not €250!!!! I strongly recommend that you stay away, far away!! Don’t believe the photos

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location is really good for quick beach access and a short walk to the nearby Ramblas. A small supermarket (Condis) is just around the corner so very convenient. If you are lucky, you will get a sea view from your window. The only downfalls with this hotel is the lack of a swimming pool and no tea/coffee facilities in your room.

Lovely location for the beach. Room starting to look a little shabby now - mirror damaged around edge, robe stained etc - just gave a feeling of needing a refresh. Housekeeping came really late (5pm ish) both days which was very late and when you were likely to be back in the room. For the price we paid, it was ok.

The room (junior suite) requires some refurbishment. The hotel staff is very nice and friendly , but the biggest downside was the absence of proper breakfast. We were told it had been abandoned due to COVID-related precautions but this was actually just a pretext as we were passing by a few other hotels in the same area of Barcelona and noticed proper breakfast was served there .

Pros. The property was very clean and in a great location for the beach at Barcelona. Downside. The hotel comes with free wifi but the wifi is so slow its almost none existent. There were no facilities in the room such as tea and coffee or free water. There was no sky TV. The only TV was local TV which had 2 English news channels. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything in the room upstairs

Pretty far from the city center and metro, only really convenient to the international conference center by bus. The hotel is spacious and has many amenities but feels pretty sterile.

Small room. Old fashion interior. Old but clean bathroom, quite far from the city center . Good breakfast, high quality lunch in the hotel.

Very nice stay for 4 days...very close to the beach. Metro 10 minutes walk away with a tour bus stop just a few metres away, A few nice restaurants also just a few metres away. Basically you get what you pay for...a 4 star hotel for 4 star prices. I never understand people who want to pay 4 star prices but still get 5 star quality and then complain when they don't!

A very cozy property with good breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. Location is very good , close to the beach and just a 10 minutes walk to Poblenou metro station .

Location was fab. Had balcony room overlooking the seafront. Lovely views. Great selection for breakfast. Bar staff / breakfast staff polite and helpful. Disappointed that Expedia stated there was a roof top terrace - which was incorrect.

Most apathetic customer service in my experience

Actually a great location, near the beach and also with restaurants that are great. We really liked Almas nearby, which the locals seems to frequented. The hotel looks nothing like the photos. There are no spitting places outside with parasols. The entrance is small and crampy, and you have to take the stairs two flights to get to the reception. Once you get to the hotel reception, you will be ignored by the staff for a loooong time. We were dumbstruck by how they pretended to not even see us. After they acknowledged our presence, it was like "uhm, what are you doing here?". Luckily everything went just fine after that. The staff does not greet you when you walk by the reception, which we found weird and unpleasant. Will not stay with this hotel again.

Horrible experience - Air conditioning did not work in two different rooms. Waking into the lobby, it was so hot and humid, I was wondering how my room was going to turn out. It was super hot and muggy waking into my room, the unconcerned staff said it was because the air conditioning was not running, but four, six, ten hours later it was still so hot I couldn’t sleep. I complained and was put in another room the next night with the same result. Don’t ever stay there in warm months. I flew to Italy shortly after where the rooms had wonderful air conditioning so, I would give this property the lowest rating possible. A staff that doesn’t care and rooms with horrible air conditioning.

Perfect breakfast, for the rest, much too expensive

Great location right off the beach and we found a couple of decent restaurants nearby. The breakfast offered by the hotel was outstanding. It is a couple kilometers away from where all the shopping seemed to be but that was good for us since we weren't there to shop and we were easily able to find a place to shop. Also it is right near one of the bus tour stops (the red bus) so it was very convenient.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but comfortable. The painters had been painting the corridor outside my room when I arrived so there was flakes of old paint along the corridor caerpet and it smelt of paint on my floor. The room was quiet apart from heels clicking on the floor above and occasional raised voices from the corridor as I was near a lift. It was nice to be able to open a window without having traffic noise as there was a playground below..Surroundings are residential and I felt safe.

It was close to the beach and the views were picturesque. I wish there were more convenience/markets more closer than 10 minute walk away that we’re open late. But the Pharmacy was close by. That’s my only complaint but everything else about the hotel is great.

Best hotel

We have stayed at many NH hotels and this one is by far the best one. The location, friendliness of the staff, cleanliness is all exceptional. I will most definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Barcelona.

Service was great, breakfast a little pricey so we didn’t take it. Great room. Only improvement would have been if we could have twin beds in our sea facing room but the hotel happily arranged for an extra single bed for us so all was good

It was disappointing to discover the restaurant closed on Christmas eve earlier than published. Without the guests being informed in advance.

We were out over ten hours from our room and returned to find it as we left it, no cleaner had been in and to add insult to injury they provided us with a packet of cheap sweets and a bottle of water as an apology totally ruined our stay. Also staff are two standards, either super like LARA or really intrustive and unhelpful ike the male at breakfast, he never cleared our table as we progressed leaving it a mess to eat through however the lady on our last two days was delightful and cleared as we went along.

Good hotel

We liked this hotel. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. They helped us with buses, metro schedules, and electrical needs. We had an excellent view of the ocean and street. The only negative points are the poor wifi, and computer use that you have to pay for. Apparently all the hotels in Spain that I've encountered require a city tax at checkout, which is very inconvenient.

Ok stay

It was a good stay but customer service is not up to par. It took them 2+ hours to get us help from front desk. The location of the hotel is great. Not bad walking distance from train station.

Nice hotel, great views

A very nice experience here. Me and my girlfriend stayed for 4 nights in April. We had some lovely weather, and a balcony, which we paid extra for but was well worth it.

Hotel near beach.

When we first pulled up there was a strong smell of the drains which was an awful experience. The hotel wasn't much to look at. The staff were very friendly. The room was cleaned every day. There was no tea and coffee in my room which I was very disappointed , we had to go the the bar if we wanted one. Also the breakfast was very expensive at 18 Euros.

The hotel is in a nice, quiet and safe neighborhood. We were very close to restaurants, the sea and lots of shopping. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room had air conditioning that was not working, even after we had asked to have it fixed a couple of times. The weather was not too warm so that was not a big inconvienience.

Quiet place near the beach

We loved our stay! Quiet, clean place to stay and near the beach. A little out of the city but there is 2 bus lines near by that makes the access to the city very easy. The staff was very helpfull specially the man at the desk of "hertz".

Nice and quite!

The hotel and area was very good. Expect a quite and relax area close to beach. But just 15 minutes walk to Rambla del Poblenou, the busy street of that area. Costs around 10 euro to go downtown with taxi. The only small problem of hotel was the stairs at entrance, articuture fault!

Good Value by the beach

The Hesperia del Mar is a nice hotel that is located very close to the beach (a few minutes walk) and very close to a residential neighborhood. The location was perfect, I was able to spend a lot of time at the beach, enjoy the numerous beach restaurants and also explore the shops and restaurants in the local neighborhood. The rooms are little small but a really good value for the price. I would definitely stay here again.

weekend break in barcelona

had a great weekend in Barcelona ,to see bruce springsteen at the nou camp, brilliant show , weather was great and hotel was very good , a bit out of the centre location wise, but close to the beach and metro stations so it was not a issue, 10 -15 minute stroll to port Olympic which is quite lively at night, staff where quite helpful at hotel. all in all had a great weekend.

Not central but not a problem

The hotel is only a 40-min walk along the beautiful sea front to Barceloneta (where you get the best seafood in the city) or a 10-min walk to the metro (Poble Nou) and from there you're in the city centre in no time. The area around the hotel is like a little village and there are some small bar/cafes around and just around the corner from the hotel are some nice restaurants that do good food (including breakfast). Rooms are a wee bit Spartan but nothing to complain about and all the expected amenities are there. Bed was big and comfy and staff were excellent. We had a balcony facing the sea and the only issue was the noise outside, which was a real problem in the mornings even with the door closed tight.

Ok hotel. Pretty long walk to the main beach.

Arrived a few hours after staying up all night before and was upset I couldn't check into the room for another few hours so had to sit about waiting. Ended up feeling sick and dehydrated later on that evening after walking a long distance to try and find somewhere to eat and get some much needed water. I wouldn't stay here again as its a long enough walk into the main marina where there is some life.
