Absolute worst ever nightmare. This has been worst hotel we have been to. Our experience was so worst that it makes me think authencity of reviews on hotels.com. Images you see on the listing are ages old. Moment you enter reception there would be intense smoke smell. Dirty carpets, basin not working, stinky towels, rusty shower. Its a crime to stay in this hotel and pay for it. Families please be aware. Don;t be fooled by 6.2 ratings. Absolute worst ever !!

Not great.

Room didnt look like it was cleaned in weeks. Stained pillows, and dead bugs etc.

Would definitely recommend for mid ohio vintage days. Decently close for a good price. Nice management. Room was in decent shape had minor issues like back door keycard disnt work so had to walk around if it closed. For most part very decent for what i needed.

For what I needed for it fit my needs I was in town for concert the hotel is outdated not the cleanest place but I wasn’t in room very long just to shower and a few hrs of sleep location is not bad just right off rt30 and 71 intersection

Disgusting place, we didn’t even stay there. Room smelled something terrible, beds looked like they bought them at a garage sale, black things in the sheets, toilet was filthy. When we checked in a lady was sitting on the couch folding towels. There went $400 down the drain.

A Title

Aside from the TV/cable not functioning, and the double stick tape failing on the throne, causing the morning constitutional to be reminiscent of my professional surfing career, which I've never experienced, as the closest body of water I've ever placed a "board" in was a lady I met back in the 70s...but I digress, the door locks, the toilet flushes and the shower works...what more is needed ? I've stayed here before and I will again.

Bathroom was average. No soap and shampoo. Bathroom towels were fine Room was clean with comfortable bed. Very nice TV. No listing for channels. Good refrigerator but no container for ice or cups. I would not stay there again. Rating - 2

Location wasn't the best

LIKES: Quite place. Near to highway. DISLIKES: No breakfast. Check-out time is 11.00 instead of noon. Room was under repair when arrived/checked in. WiFi works only in lobby not in room. The price is reasonable. But the above amenities (mentioned in the dislikes) were offered while booking online but in reality they were not.

Disappointing

I was very disappointed in this motel. When we first arrived nobody was in the lobby for us to check in. We called the number we were supposed to when we got there nobody answered the phone. We went looking for someone. It took us 30 minutes to find someone to check us in. When we got checked in they gave us the room key and that is when they made the bed. They had no fitted sheet on the bed. They only had a flat sheet and the covers. I was worried the whole time we stayed if we even had a clean sheet. It was a very disappointing motel we stayed at. I was trying to make it a very nice time because my husband and I was celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and did not realized that this motel room was not what I expected.

Hiking Holmes County.

Heritage is a budget option. It isn't fancy, and the outside areas need some attention, but my room was clean, safe, and quiet. The hallways as well, although forst floor rooms have both inside and outside access. If I were to stay in the Mansfield area again, I would stay here as it was properly priced for what it is compared to other Mansfield area motels.

Staff was very nice. Ownership needs to look at spending some cash to keep up property standards.

My stay at Heritage Inn

Our stay was a pleasant experience and I would recommend this motel for your stay. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable to sleep on. The staff were friendly and helpful.

This place was okay. The only bright light was Brooke at the front desk. She actually shook my hand and was pleased to meet me. She was there when I needed cell phone charger in middle of night. Brooke is constantly running around doing the job of literally 4 motel personnel. I know because I worked for HR all my life. I would definitively stay there again but only because I have a friend named Brooke working there.

Clean, but worn-out and smelly. I woke up with a back ache. Nothing nearby, not even a fast-food restaurant.

Never ever will call this place again

Waited about 10-15 minutes before someone came to check us in. Only spent the one Nite, was just passing thru. Alot of updating needs to be done. Really didn't feel safe. The check-in clerk was very nice and helpful.

I prepaid and will try to get my money back. Room smelled, hotel was run down and dirty. Simply could not stay there.

Front desk is good. But didn’t get any housekeeping. Carpet wasn’t cleaned. Bed sheet, one pillow case had stain. Towels had black stain on them . The gentleman in the front desk is helpful

You can do better!

Maybe it was my local friends warning me of bed bugs and lot lizards knocking on my door in the wee hours that added to my negativity? I was greeted strangely, given the door card to my room and informed that it won't work on the outdoor facing side of my room. I use the interior door as instructed and found that none of the light switches worked anywhere except the bath. After all is said and done, spend a few extra bucks and get a real room. Especially if your wife is traveling with you! It's the nastiest hotel I've stayed in this side of China.

I guess we and others reported slow drainage for us in shower, one other customer sink. Older carpets but for the price was OK.

The visual aspects of the outside of the property was average. The inside of the hotel was messy and smelled bad. They had smoking and none smoking rooms which I didn't think was allowed in Ohio. My room smelled like a combination of marijuana and bad cigarette smoke. This was suppose to be a nonsmoking room. My second room, I had two rooms reserve, didn't have the smell but there were large BUGS in the A.C. unit. As I looked into the air outlet vent of the A.C. I could see bugs laying in the vent on top of the coil. Don't know what kind they were but they were the size of a pearl at least a dozen or more. As I walked through the hotel I ran into smells of marijuana here and there. When we chose to vacate the premises shortly after discovering the bugs, the clerk was not at all happy with our decision, but did grant us a refund with no penalty. I would not recommend this Heritage Inn to anyone, especially a family with children!!

Hotel is a older hotel nothing works properly it’s a place to sleep and that is it

The reservation was for a room with a queen size bed, the room that we were given had a full size bed. The sheets had stains all over them and the blankets were full of cigarette burns and were old and uncomfortable. There were roaches as well. I would not recommend.

Floor was filthy, had M&M's all over edges of floor and towels that were to be white were yellowish. Place needs completely remodeled.

The rooms were just OK. Though we needed to clean counters ourselves. The entire place smelled like stale cigarette smoke except the rooms. There was a trash can on wheels in the middle of the hallway and they ignored my message requesting bottom floor for a person who does not do steps which made it HORRIBLE for her. Staff was unfriendly at best.

Awful

My reservation was for 3 people. I had one extra kid with me and he charged me for 2 extra people, telling me my reservation was for 2. Everything was dirty, we only had two towels the whole weekend; and when we asked for more we were told there weren’t any more. The reason we booked this hotel is because we were low on money and they advertised continental breakfast, however there was no breakfast at all, and we had to ask to even get coffee made.

Disgusting Atmosphere

Room was filthy and the smell of mold was overwhelming. We could not stay in these conditions and went to another hotel. When notified, management didn't seem to care what our complaint was about they quickly issued a refund and went about their business. I took that to mean they were used to hearing about it.

No 'complimentary' breakfast. My door lock always rejected the key card. There was something in the tub drain that slowed draining.

The no smoking room reeked of smoke . Had to call the office to get in the room also had to call for the tv remote . Location is remote and scary.

The entire hotel smelled like stale cigarettes, so badly that I had a headache after a few hours in the room. There is no elevator, just janky stairs. The AC was very effective, but it started to cycle on and off at about 2 AM and woke us up. My son’s pillow had hair all over it when we got there. There was no breakfast, only old coffee. The hot water ran out halfway through my shower. The gentleman at the desk was nice, but we will never ever go back, and I would never recommend it to anyone.

The carpet floors were filthy,the bathroom was clean,mirror ,windows had not been cleaned,there was not available help at anytime.

We pulled into the parking lot and pulled right back out without staying. The only other building nearby is boarded up and I didn't feel safe staying there alone with 2 small children.

Cheap room rate I got what I paid for

Room 115, floor needs swept, tub does not drain, if showers are running on second floor there is terrible noise coming from the maintenance room next door, office said there’s nothing they can do about, light switches and plug cover are dirty. just clean the place will you, cheap room rate so I got what I paid for

The property seems well maintained and clean. My room, although clean, had a nasty odor.

Location and price were great, all of the staff I encountered were awesome. Small microwave, nice size fridges in rooms, comfy and clean beds. Hotel is a bit dated and the cleaning staff could pay a little more attention to cleaning the dust around the perimiter of the room, other wise I would stay here again.

For background, we have stayed at Heritage Inn yearly for the last 4 or 5 years while attending the Indycar race at Mid-Ohio. We have always been satisfied with our stays...basic and nothing fancy but comfortable and clean. This year, upon entering the room we could hardly believe it. The room was a dump and stank horribly (I know it was a smoking room but this was over the top). The 2 chairs were filthy and one had a big hole in it. The carpet was stained with holes worn in it. In the bathroom, the toilet was broken at the bottom and was very unstable. Many burns in the counter and sink was disgusting. If the owner is going to let this place run down like this...we will stay elswhere in the future. We stayed here during Inkcarceration; my wife booked the hotel, and couldn’t go last minute so I took a friend. Pros: the staff are very nice here. Very well managed here, we had absolutely no issue with any of them and they made the stay good. It’s a quick trip to the penitentiary and a cheap place to sleep at night that doesn’t have bugs or dirty rooms. Cons: the AC was out and it was HOT. Middle of July. We finally got it to work on day 2. The other hotel stayers that went to the festival who stayed here also had the same complaint. Overall: decent and no thrills, clean and a safe place to sleep.

Stay away!!

Nothing like the pics, room was filthy, only staff member was one housekeeping. Who said she cleaned my room, 😒 within 10 mins of arrival we left. Locals tell me this is a place for prostitution! Very dirty and outdated. Stay away from this place ! Thank you to Hotels.com for getting my money back.

Just Ok

Hotel definitely needs to be updated, arrived late and left early in the am so it got us by. Continental breakfast was just toast, packaged danish and Oj and only room for 1 family to eat at a time.

The hotel was very clean. Very nicely kept. My only issue was with the credit card hold. I specifically stated that I was only holding the room on my credit card and would pay cash upon arrival. I arrived at 5:45 pm and was told they were getting ready to cancel my room since my card didn't go through. I stated again that I was choosing to pay cash. The site even gives you the chance to pay at the location. I had to pay cash to keep the other rooms that were checking in on Saturday, also. I should not have had to pay for the rooms when they weren't even available until the next day.

This may not be the most high end hotel but it has everything you need. The staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable, and location was close to highways and everything of interest in the area. Overall a great place to stay and we will probably stay here again next time we sre In the area.

I didnt like the fact that the rooms have 2 doors, 1 from the parking lot that you cant enter you can only open from the inside but then you cant lock it from the outside so its a pointless door and the other door is a normal hotel door inside. And even being a smoking room, it reaked bad, having a smoker with me and they couldnt even handle the smell. Also no coffee pot in the room for the morning. Just over all didnt seem very professional, wont go back there.

when i saw the pictures in booking it looked like a nice place when i got there the room was filthy it had roaches the continental breakfast was non existant was given 2 towel and 2 shampoo for 4 people every was broke if it wasnt for the fact there was no other hotel available i wouldve checked out the moment I checked in worse money i ever spent shoud really be refunded some of the money i paid it wasa maybe 35 night hotel that i paid 69 a night for for roaches and horrible service noteven the wifi worked

The water was off as we went to bed, and when we got up, so we couldn’t shower, flush, or wash. Desk clerk was defensive and argumentative when we asked about it. No one said sorry, and no compensation was offered until we asked. Breakfast was supposed to be available, but there was only a couple pastries, a few apples, some OJ, and a quarter pot of coffee when we came to lobby. We had to check out early, at 7 am, because we couldn’t use the shower or toilet. Used our water bottles to brush our teeth.

Surprise comfy and security for the lower cost.

The check in was great, got the room we paid for non smoking of course. Bed was ok, not like home but hey. Great view watched the weather over night. Internet not strong but got my stuff I HAD to done. Local food was super and they were real big on security that we appreciated.

You get what you pay for plus a few free ants thrown in to make your stay memorable. Otherwise ok.

We were a little hesitant with the low price however, we just needed a place to lay our heads at night.

Good for people who aren’t picky.

My husband & I decided to stay at the Heritage Inn for a few nights during Inkcarceration. We needed somewhere close to the venue & affordable. Heritage Inn was both. When booking, you can request a room with a microwave and mini fridge & our room did have both, which was so nice & convenient for breakfasts. The folks working there were very nice & the room was a good size, with a table & 2 chairs. Speaking of size, I booked a room with a king size bed and there’s no way our bed was a king, as we have one at home. I’m thinking it was a full-queen, and a queen would be pushing it. But, the bed & bed sheets were comfortable, despite the size of the bed. One thing that we’re not used to, which was a shock to us, is sulfur in the water. After spending all day in the sun, covered in sweat & sunscreen from a music festival, there’s nothing more you want than a shower when you get back to the room. The water smelled awful, but being far from a big city, I’m not surprised, and wasn’t that huge of a deal, we just weren’t expecting that. I would suggest drain covers for the tubs tho, as my husband had to unclog it for the shower to drain so we weren’t standing in a half a foot of water. All in all, the Heritage Inn was a good room for a good price & we would come back again.

No extra pillows are allowed and had a musky smell to the room. We had to go the Walmart and purchase extra pillows and also purchased Febreeze for the smell

Hotel was eh.. my room had and inside and outside entrance and an adjoining room door to which someone tried to enter both the adjoining room door and the outside entrance at 1a.m. that's very scary to think someone's trying to get in your room...

A well-kept secret

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Heritage Inn. We attended the Gojotekicon convention in Ashland, the weekend of May 4th-6th. The hotels in Ashland were way too pricey! Fortunately, Hotels.com was able to find us a great deal on this place. Only 15 minutes from Ashland, at half the price of the nearest competitors! Heritage inn was very comfortable indeed - we loved the room at once. Refrigerator, microwave, and air conditioner included. The hotel overall has a laid-back, chilled-out, "homey" feeling. No pretentious unneeded "extras", just a great room at a great price. Wi-Fi worked 100% of the time, and the staff was very friendly and helpful too. The nearby highway could not be heard from within the room, and the other guests kept to themselves. Oh - but the water smells strongly of well water. So you'd better bring some of your own, unless you're used to that.

Buggy sleep

There were bugs in the room. The carpet was old and didn't seem very clean. We tried to call the main desk on two occasions and there was no answer.

Old, dirty, near a strip joint, and the stink of the water from morning shower basically chased us out in the morning! Wasn’t” a breakfast would never have booked had I known how awful it would be. had we known there were many motels at the next exit. Weird inside hallway and outside door what’s that about?

Decent for the price

Room was very clean and accommodating. The only complaint I have is the bed and pillows were brutal. I've never been more uncomfortable sleeping in a hotel. If it wasn't for that I would have given at least one more star.

Hole in the wall out of town workers type hotel was told that we got the owners private room witch eh wasn't dirty but wasn't clean shower sounded like a train was going through the room when shower head was so low that I washed my hair on my knees hole in the wall in bathroom two doors one inside and one out witch was a plus that both the locks worked getting in with the cards you had to have the office redo each time you used them thanks goodness we were using the motel for a place to sleep while we stayed most the day time at a campground witch was a lot nicer and cleaner even though it was outside

Stayed while at the races

Nice simple motel....nothing fancy but an easy drive to Mid Ohio race course and many choices for dining. Clean, and the staff is very friendly and accomodating. We will continue to stay here on our annual trip to see Indycar at Mid Ohio.

Perfect place to just lay your head for a night

Stayed there this past weekend. Only complaints that I have is the fact that the shower head was not made for tall people lol. And the outdated tv with questionable reception. Other than that, perfect place to lay your head for a night or two.

Okay if it's a quick stay- very nice staff

Very friendly staff and you could tell that they try to keep their rooms clean. Shag carpet era so you can never really get it clean. The breakfast was a total loss. Bread and 2 types of dollar store danish with coffee or orange juice. Not worth more than $60.

Never again

I had to drive 60 more miles the next morning. I am on oxygen and the last thing I wanted was to climb a flight of stairs to get to my room with all of my luggage. I asked for a first floor was told they didnt have one. As I checked out, I mentioned it to the young lady and she said, Oh, we had plenty of rooms downstairs, I dont understand why she didnt give you one. I asked if they had internet. They did. Got to my room and it was so poor that I couldnt get it. I asked about it downstairs and was told that since the new owners took it over, they were waiting for a company to come out and fix the problem. I tried to make a wake up call. No dial tone. I went downtstairs and had to walk all the way back up for them to call the phone to find out it didnt work. Oh- I then find that someone had pulled all of the wires out of the phone. The only thing that worked right was the room itself. It was nice, clean, and a good temp.
