I was disappointed when I got to this hotel. We spent over $400 for a one night stay. I had already paid $290 for a one night stay, but realized immediately after booking that I had selected the wrong date. Even though I contacted the hotel immediately after booking to explain, they were super reluctant to help me out and just ignored my communication. Only after leaving a negative review on Google did they contact me to say they would change the date at a cost of $120. When we got to the hotel, the staff was friendly, and the place was clean and nice. However, it appears that the rooms on their website have been created by AI because they don’t yet exist! The three bedroom room we stayed was fresh and clean, but included a make shift bed. It was nothing, however, like the fancy cabins on their website that I was hoping for when booking. The breakfast was nice and fresh. We arrived early and paid for our first breakfast. It was $20 per person, even for kids which seemed over-priced given how much you can eat quality food for in the local area. The jacuzzi was like warm and pretty boring, and the pineapple tour was short and mildly interesting at best. I wouldn’t completely discourage anyone from spending a night in this hotel, but no one should pay more than $200 a night per room, and it’s not family-friendly. I would ask the hotel to change their website to have photos of the current rooms in the hotel, and to get rid of those that seem to be created by AI.

The hotel is so clean and beautiful. The beds are very comfortable and the hotel staff were amazing. We ate at the onsite restaurant twice, it was so convenient and delicious. Highly recommend!

Stylish, well maintained property with friendly service. Highlight was the breakfast spread capped off with excellent expresso by the host. Spacious room with nice shower. A small problem with the thermostat. Maybe add a full length mirror. Overall, we had a wonderful stay.

This is a super cute and unique place! We loved breakfast and the dinner options. Having the pineapple greenhouses right there to explore was great. The massage in the pineapple garden was fantastic! Would definitely rebook!

Everything was fine

We had an amazing time! The grounds are beautiful and well kept, and the room was comfortable and had all the basic necessities. We ate breakfast every morning at the hotel, which was free. We ate dinner once, but it was one of my favorite meals of the trip! I would highly recommend!

This is a boutique b&b place and a beautiful property. It’s a little pricey we thought as it feels like they are still trying to figure it out. We had some issues with our room (or the aircon system) having a mold smell. The manager responded fast and sorted out a cleaning of the system. We very much enjoyed our dinner - great food, however, the staff was all very new so didn’t know what wine they had or much about the dishes. They were very friendly though.

Charming, a lot of thought and care was put into it. You can experience “real life” in the Azores on a pineapple farm away from tourism.

We had an extremely pleasant stay at Herdades do Ananas. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was exceptionally great. I would recommend having dinner on the property for at least one of your evenings here. The food was better than any of our other meals on the island. The staff spoke English and everyone was very friendly and helpful. I have to give special thanks to Edgar, who served our breakfasts and gave us a tour of the property-with an explanation of how they grow pineapples in the greenhouses there. He always went above and beyond in helping us. It is a little distance from the city center, but we liked the peace and quiet in this setting. Also, it’s an easy taxi ride to the city center or a lot of guests rented a car— and there is plenty of free parking. Highly recommended!

Great property.

Quaint property on a pineapple plantation just outside of the city. The rooms are clean and a good size. The entire place is gated so it felt super safe and secure. Edgar was fantastic - super friendly and took great care of us…. Even arranged a to go breakfast box for us on day of departure since we had an early flight out!

It is a small cozy boutique hotel with loads of pineapple’s plantations all over the property. Loved the super nice jacuzzi inside of an actual plantation and the breakfast too with locally grown fruits and local products from Azores. I would gladly return to this hotel!

Great staff , a good meal and a comfortable room

Had a lovely stay here on our honeymoon. The grounds of the hotel are very well maintained. Breakfast was very good and so was the service. Not much around the site but very well located to drive downtown or to attractions. Would recommend this hotel to a couple looking for a cozy and relaxing getaway!

Very Good

We liked our stay very much. Very clear, the service is excellent, the breakfast the same and the bed very comfortable, with two sets of pillows to choose from. Overall an excellent stay. Small cons -- The rooms are classic and thus not that spacious but we didn't have particularly large luggage so it was fine. The building is a charming old pineapple plantation house and thus for example it doesn't have elevator. It is only one floor but if you have heavy luggage it could be tricky.

Certainly one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in . Attention to detail is wonderful .

Old Portugese house, attached to a small pineapple plantation, that has been sympathetically modernised in a minimalist style. White décor with 1950's style furniture from the original family home - and shop. Bright airy bedrooms with vaulted ceilings. Boutique feel with only 8 letting rooms.

Last night before coming back home

Perfect place if it is your last day at Sao Miguel before coming back home. Clean, cosy, stylish, quiet, well maintained. Looks like some billionaire’s villa. Comfy bed, extra towels for the beach, tea, biscuits, apples, water, shampoo and shower gel are provided in the room. We had a room with access to the terrace, a bit more expensive but very convenient. The terrace is not private but nobody was there beside us. There are some wooden sunbeds but no mattress or softcover. That would be good to have to increase comfort. Staff is well trained and make you feel like the most valued guest. Interior is performed in retro style combined with modern technology, very nice. The territory is green and clean, has greenhouses where pineapples are grown. Every day there is a tour where you can see how they grow pineapples and learn some interesting facts about the process. Breakfast is simple and tasty, you can sit as inside so outside. Indoor interior of breakfast room makes you feel comfortable, all done in good taste. There is a variety of cheese, ham, bread, yoghurts and fruits. Pineapple juice was strange, tastes more like water with a pineapple flavour, very diluted. Only one type of egg is served which is scrambled egg. Last but not least what you should know is the way how to get there. The address which is given could not be found by GPS, at least ours could not work it out. The right street is Faja de Baixo, try to use that when you will turn on your GPS.

Wonderful hosts, beautiful rooms, including generous communal areas. Quiet and relaxing location, yet convenient for Ponta Delgada and local restaurants. Guided tour and introduction to the fascinating art of growing pineapples was an unexpected bonus.

Spacious room with excellent bedding, quiet, very clean, AC available. Excellent breakfast. Friendly atmosphere. Good wi-fi. Outside Ponta Delgada citycenter but easy access by car. Private parking. The visit to the pineapples plantation is a "must do". Easy access for arrival/departure.

Ed was a very welcoming, attentive, enthusiastic and gracious host. The tour of the pineapple plantation was fun and the room was clean and spacious. We will return.

We had a wonderful stay at Herdade do Ananas. They accommodated us from the moment we arrived even though it was 8:30 in the morning. We were able to have breakfast (very good food and drinks) and have our room ready by 12. Location is great, and very close to downtown Ponta Delgada. The pineapple plantation tour is a wonderful plus. There are only 8 rooms in this beautiful villa- they give you 5 star service without paying a five star price. It was a great start to our trip. Sofia and Artur were great- thank you!

My wife and I came here for part of our honeymoon, and we loved everything about this hotel. The atmosphere is cozy and the decor is very homey. The room is very clean and comfortable. The smell in the courtyard of the hotel is amazing. You get a touch of island air with pineapples and other fruit mixed in, and it's very refreshing. There's also the fact that you get to get a quick tour from Edgar on the farm and see the different stages of the pineapples being grown!

Herdade do Ananás exceeded all of our expectations. It's a beautiful, quiet, family-friendly, and convenient spot. We'd highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the Azores.

Peaceful haven

Great location, just outside the main town and very close to the quick roads for trips around the island. Beautiful and peaceful with lovely views and attention to detail. The building and rooms are really well designed and quiet at night. We enjoyed relaxed drinks in the evenings and sunbathing on the terrace on our last full morning. Excellent breakfast and they even left us something when we left for our flight early in the morning. We walked to Sao Roque for food on our first evening and enjoyed the countryside and a taste of local life. Thank you.

This is a restored house w lots of character and charm. Appreciate it! The furniture is original mid century modern and the remodeling was done with impeccable attention to detail yet maintaining a clean and decluttered style. It does not have all the amenities you get in a bigger hotel but that did not bother us at all. Service was personable and attentive. Property s are immaculate. Breakfast was great. Highly recommend and would love to stay there again. But please keep in mind this isn’t a chain hotel, be respectful of other guests and property, appreciate the experience of staying in somebody’s house and being treated as such.

Beautiful

We loved it. This is more of a BnB. The positives: Clean and spacious, cute soaps In the bathroom, the buffet was delicious and had something for everyone. I am gluten-free and they did find me gluten free bread. Very much appreciated. No real negatives but some things to think about. We would’ve liked more furniture in the room to put our suitcases and bags. Breakfast starts at 8am which is good to know for the early risers. Also, the entrance was confusing as it is a remote controlled entrance. We parked on a side road. The gate happened to be open because a car had just driven through. So we walked into the courtyard. We probably shouldn’t have done that and just used the call button which would’ve gotten ahold of a staff member. However we wandered around the grounds and the building trying to find the office. We couldn’t find the office because there is no office. So a little confusing and frustrating when you’re tired and hungry. Overall the stay was wonderful and we highly recommend. They also offer a pineapple tour in the mornings. We found this delightful as we do grow our own pineapples.

A wonderful place to stay - not over-specified, but just right - comfortable, clean, well-maintained, with good showers, really comfy beds/pillows, a sense of space, pleasant communal areas - and a great breakfast. Edgar, the host, is also just perfect - friendly, helpful but unintrusive.
