Enjoyed our stay

The location was a little iffy, but at the end, we enjoyed our stay. At the front entrance, there was someone in a costume, not sure if it was related to Mardi Gras… and they were filming/blogging… not sure I came with my fam and it was comforting to see the night attendant with her kid helping out Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Horrible customer services and a very ugly and uns

I didnt even stay the place felt unsafe and it looked to my standers to dirty. My kids didn't even want to get down from the car. The security guard looked creepy and the girl in the front dest looked like she had no idea of what she was doing and she mas perping like if she was drunk. Then i requested a cancelation and they told me that only the general manager could do that. And when he finally called me Back he was very rude and he told me he doesn't work 24 7 and that i was bothering him on his day off for something that wasn't INPORTANTE and that I could wait until he returned to work. He told me to contact hotels.com if i wanted a refund for a no show. I explained to him that I was at the premises but that I totally didn't feel safe and hes response was WELL THAT'S HILARIOUS BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE STAY THERE AT THE DAILY AND THAT HE WAS GOING TO BAND ME FROM HIS HOTEL.

Not in a good neighborhood. Noisy

Hotel was closed when we arrived for renovations. Never got a single email from this hotel or Expedia about this closure. Had to scramble last minute to find another hotel on our vacation. Despite not even having the chance to stay here, it is also in a very bad part of town. Literally pick anywhere else to stay in the city over this unprofessional "hotel".

Closed for refurbishment with no communication. Had to book somewhere else on the day. It has been a week and no refund.

Competing with a pool DJ

It was pleasant how ever the pool was taken over by a DJ and a singles crowd with lots of excessive noise until 11pm . It competed with the tv and our own music. If was informed of private function at the beginning we would’ve tried this place another time .

They don’t have rooms available. Waste of time on reservation or payment.

This property is clearly a party atmosphere, but not an ideal hotel stay. The check in area had music blaring so loudly that I was convinced we were in the wrong place. The rooms in reality look far different from the photos online, but were fine enough. The curtains in the room do not close well so we had light from the hall coming in all night. The worst part of our stay was that the hotel checked someone else into our room and they were able to access our room thinking it was theirs. If we had not been inside with the deadbolt locked, this person would have been able to fully step into the room. This left us feeling uneasy that someone else would be able to come into the room while we were out and unable to leave the door deadbolted. During the night, we could hear people arguing in the hallway as if they were in our own room. While the hotel seems great for a day at the pool, I would not recommend this place to stay at.

Overall great stay minus all the construction. Rooms were nice and cozy and ac was super cold. I’d definitely stay again and front desk personnel were very friendly.

Horrible place.

The room had a smell, was not clean. There was no housekeeping done. I couldn’t not say if the bedsheets and the towels were white or off white. Walls have cracks, the table had dust on it. And The NOISE. There was a concert and weird people around the place. It was just horrible. I will never, ever go back there. Don’t waste your money, it’s not worth it.

Checked in at 3:00. Very loud music which could be heard in room with foul language being played around property and around pool for an upcoming event. Elevator broken and had to cling three flights of stairs with luggage. Walkway seemed unstable in places. Staff was great. We left.

Weekend getaway

We live an hour outside of Houston, and we usually stay here. It’s centrally located, reasonably priced, has a great pool, and has self parking. We’ve stayed here about 6 times, and it’s progressively gotten worse each time. We stayed in May, and I noticed our room wasn’t very clean. Then this time, this room was even dirtier. The bathroom and the floor in the whole room particularly. The bathroom door jam and the wall/baseboards behind the door were disgusting. I know every room can’t be detailed every cleaning, but I would expect noticeable dirt and stains to be cleaned. We were also given a room with 2 queens instead of the king room I was supposed to get. This might have been due to the. Some damage from the recent hurricane though, so I didn’t even bring it up.

The property got hit with hurricane so a lot of buildings is being refurbished which is a shame and I don’t think helps it was raining a lot of the 2 days we was there the staff are very nice and room was clean

Not my first time to stay there and had really liked the eclectic vibe previously, but I arrive to find no refrigerator nor microwave in my room. Was told they were available by request only. I'm like, really??? Is this a thing now? Supposedly due to thefts from the room. I suggest they invest in some security measures rather than removing amenities

The S Hole Motel

This is a 2 star at best motel. So many things wrong. My stay was a don't go back star experience.

Sunday night party at their pool brought all kinds of sketchy characters to their parking lot: not for guests a profit making event

The staff was understaffed and were not ready for my arrival even coming a day later and me commincating with the hotel. They placed me on the third floor right (no elevators be aware). My room ceiling and wall literally had construction everyday from 7am to early evening. Was very dirty, debris everywhere. Driveways to your room were blocked from trucks. I had to leave 2 days early it was ridiculous.

The only problem I had (which is major to me) was somethimg in the room i was allergic to . Idk if it was what they washed the linens with or if it was the air conditioning filter but every morning i wiuld wake up worh a swollen throat and what feels like a sinus infection but the moment i leave the room im fine .

Starting at checkout I was greeted by their friendly staff. The property was clean. My room was soooo clean and very aesthetically pleasing. My bed was so comfy I didnt want to leave. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff were wonderful. Extremely kind and helpful! However, some people using the pool and bar were extremely noisy. Literally yelling outside my door after 10pm. The noise continued on and off until about midnight. I alerted the front desk and they did everything they could to quiet them down, even eventually sending security which mostly did the trick. The vibe of the place was more like a bougie motel instead of a proper hotel. I was on the 3rd floor and there was water damage on the floor leading to my room. Some spots were so soft I thought I was gonna fall through. The bed was great, I liked the furniture and coffee and soaps they had out. I honestly won’t be staying here again though.

Just OK

The hotel was decent, our room didn’t have a microwave and mini fridge as pictured. Most of the staff was not friendly. We were not able to enjoy the pool and sitting area because it was booked all weekend with private events, which we were not informed about in advance. Monday we were able to use the pool late in the day because it was supposedly being deep cleaned but it was still dirty. The staff was up in arms about ice water being poured on the ground outside even those the A/C units visibly leak on the ground and carpet

Our stay was great! The fashion show was fun, the pool was lovely, and our room was clean and comfortable. The lady at the front desk was incredibly sweet and gave us fantastic recommendations for exploring Houston. The bar food was good however the bar manager was a bit rude. Despite this, we had an overall wonderful experience.

I would give it 0 stars. I booked this property months before my teen daughter birthday thinking that it would be a nice place for her and her friends (as well as myself while I oversee them). I arrived to something similar to a freaknik beach party full of adults in bikini's. Front desk informed me that no one under 18 could be allowed in the pool due to the event. None of this was said on the booking which was a complete waste of my time. I asked for a refund since we booked this for the pool overall and I was told no refunds by the woman at the front desk as well as, expedia called and spoke to the manager johnathan who declined to refund me as well. They tried to offer me a hour of pool time the next MORNING at 11am when the pool open knowing that I would have checked out at 12 noon. I had to call expedia several times, got connected to a manager who then processed my full refund and a generous incentive just for going through the hassle with this hotel on my daughters birthday. I want to add, the rooms smell of smoke/weed. The stairs unleveled. Overall, 0 rating and I highly do not recommend. Run!!!! DO NOT BOOK unless you want to party all night and see ass everywhere.

Worst hotel experience ever.

Room was not clean when provided to me. Furniture had dust all over and to top it of there where roaches. I ended staying for the first night out of the 4 night reservation paid in advance. However see my self force to leave the property the following morning for a better hotel. To bad I did not buy the insurance in case I need it to leave early. Leeson learned.

This place is exactly the same old motel it use to be. All the owners did was throw on some new paint and gave it a new name.

Great experience

Great place, love the price. Nice vibes, the inside of the room is nice as well as the office. Will be using them again when im in town.

The property is okay, it’s definitely not a motel and is convenient due to the area. Beds and rooms are clean but they have seen better days. During our stay we had an issue with a door lock jam and it was quickly resolved. I’ve stayed here many times before and it is an okay stay, 7/10 recommend.

Overall was good, just because one of your staff at the checking, she was a little rude with another customer while I was at the counter. She was showing attitude to anyone, sad I didn't got her name. I have to clarify, that was just one staff member out of the whole group that we interacted with. The bar tenders and the kitchen staff went the extra mile to keep everyone happy at the pool and bar area.

I was not pleased they open the pool to the public. I was not able to go swimming on a Saturday

The room was nice

Definitely not impressed by the property. This is a dive motel not a hotel at all. Rooms were dirty, many drunk young people and hotel did not feel safe at all. We ended up not staying here as we were concerned for our personal safety

Place was convenient. Lots of things to do around the area

When arrived and checked into our room, we noticed the room was very dirty. We requested for a new room. They give us room 305 which the door was broken and didn’t lock properly. Then we go stuck in the room for about 5 minutes. One of the staff member was very rude! We requested a refund, which she gave us a hard time but then the staff member who originally checked us in was again to assist. I was charged twice!! Before receiving refund

Very clean and comfortable room

Let start by saying the staff was very nice. With that being said it took three attempts to find a clean room. I walked in into three rooms where the sheets from the last person was stacked on the dresser and nothing had been cleaned. My key card didn’t work three times and I had to be let in by staff. After all of that they tried to charge me $218 plus the $50 deposit when I booked the room for $168. Maybe this isn’t normal but I wouldn’t recommend this place right now

Beautiful

If I’m being honest, what the pictures showed and what we actually saw was not it. This place was under construction in some rooms. When we checked in, one of the staff members walked us to our room because he didn’t know if our room was even ready and this was at 4:30pm. Then we got in and our room was humid. We were running late to an event we needed to go and we didn’t check our room until we came back. When we came back, our bathroom was not cleaned well. Thank goodness we had brought Clorox disinfectant wipes because the toilet seat had some stains on it. The toilet paper holder was hanging off the wall. Our shower wasn’t rinsed, still had hairs from whoever stayed there the night before. The mini fridge in the room had a bottle of alcohol and some other drink shoved in the freezer part so we couldn’t put our drinks in that part. And when we went to get ice, the ice machine wasn’t even connected. The only nice thing I can say is that the young lady who was there at the night shift was super nice and the two other ladies in the morning shift when we checked out. But overall, I would not stay there ever again.

This place looks cute from the outside. Once we got into our room, it looked shabby and rundown. There was no closet at all, but instead a flimsy clothes rack. The room had a musty smell like mildew. We had two sad towels when we arrived so I asked the front desk for more towels and was given two more. The second day of our stay we returned to the room and found the towels we had used that morning were gone. I hung them up so they could be reused but housekeeping removed them. This place is a party hotel for twenty somethings. The lobby had a person checking ids on Saturday night just like a club. Good for a laugh, but never again.

Powerless but Very powerful

All the staff were fantastic, during the storm a tree fell on our house and we needed a dry safe place to stay. Even though the power was out they still checked us in and it was comfortable given the circumstances. Housekeeping was incredible.

Everything was great

I love this hotel! It's definitely not a quiet place to stay. But it's definitely a vibe!

Likes: Pool towels, coffee selection, popping music Saturday night, shampoo conditioner and body wash were amazing, and the pool was safe for my 3 year old had floats and room has Disney channel. Dislikes: Bar closed at 1 am, no fresh blueberry muffins or pop tarts, bar staff wasn’t as nice as the hotel staff, small trashcans in room didn’t fit take out bags, also this is a motel.

This place surpassed my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. I know I will be booking here anytime I’m in the Houston area. The only thing was the elevator did not work. Other than that, loved it.

The staff is super friendly, the hotel is fun and vibrant and clean. We are so happy to be staying here.

Excellent, fun hotel

The quirky deco was fun, bar was fun with great music! The bar does stay open until midnight every night with loud music so if that bothers you don’t get a pool view room, but the pool view was really nice! Atmosphere was a fun one! Bar food was great!

Restaurant and bar were amazing, DJ was amazing, atmosphere was everything. Sat by the pool listening to music just vibing. Rooms were very nice considering the affordability of this property!!!!!! Def would stay again. AND it was extremely close to the music venue which made it my first option and it worked out so well. Ubers also show up quick.

I liked the room. The hotel seemed to be fun when they have events. I liked how the rooms surrounded the outside fun area. I was there for steak night. The food was delicious. What needs major improvement is the bartenders. The poor girl that worked there made it look like such a struggle and inconvenience to have to serve the 1 or 2 customers she had. I tried to order a steak before it started. Was told it was too early. Ok fine. When the time came, she acted like I wanted her number or hand in marriage. I was like “No, I just want you to refill my drink and place my steak order now. So sorry that you have to do your job.” With 1-2 customers there, it took 25 minutes or more to get a refill. Hire better people.

Staff is super nice, we had a great stay. Only suggestion would be for the housekeeping to deep clean rooms, baseboards and walls in the bathroom was dirty

Broken lock

Key card never worked and was told they will be fixing it but never did. Had to ask the front desk to open my door every time I left the hotel. Very unprofessional and very unsecured.

Nice hotel

Loved staying here. It was affordable and easy to get to. If you have any issues management will fix it quickly. Right next to public transportation too. If I’m in Houston again this is the where I would stay.

Dope spot. Staff was great, the pool manager was amazing, she made us feel at home and showed us a great time. The room was clean, water pressure was on point and the ac blew cold. What more can you ask for?

Bad parking, otherwise fine.

Parking was a mess, there was some event going on. Had to wait in line while other people valeted in front of me. There was no other option, so I sat in my car for 10-15 minutes just waiting to get by. Otherwise the room was fine. The bar and pool area were nice. Breakfast isn’t worth it, but the coffee is free.

This place is especially cute and fun. It has a very convenient location to downtown and attractions in the Heights and the staff was friendly.

Great place!

This is the cutest little hotel, and the staff were exceptional. I was there and although I did not request housekeeping services, they emptied my trash can, provided clean towels and even made my bed....and my day! And the Space Cowboy bar is casual and fun with good pours. Stayed for business and will definitely be back!

The staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and the pool looked clean. Because all of the doors to the rooms face outward, the hotel was pretty noisy. Breakfast was pretty limited.

Got stuck in their elevator for over an hour. No out of order signs and the emergency call button never worked… Property is also very dated

Was hoping for higher quality in cleanliness and facilities. Poorly insulated doors with visible light peeling through, visibly dirty and lacking any in room extras. Things generally not in great shape (broken and dusty rolling rack to hang clothes on). That said, it is conveniently located between city segments and was no fuss for check in/out. Pool deck area was clean and well kept

The bar wasnt opened on a monday. Literally the only day i had there. Wasnt near any food . Ot nothing offered on the property. Otherwise i luved the vibe. Super cool place. I would stay again.

NOT a family-friendly hotel!

This hotel is perfectly fine, possibly even awesome, if you are in your 20s and looking for a fun, unique place to stay. Alas, it is terrible for a family with small children. The lively bar plays loud music all day and late into the night. We checked out early and changed to another hotel.

The staff are extremely helpful and very kind. But even with the renovation and new name, the old reputation (Astro Inn) of the location still lingers. It’s not the safest area so you have to stay alert. Despite that, it was a lovely and friendly place to stay.

Cute hotel, clean, has fridge and microwave. Quiet, with parking right outside the room. Great restaurants nearby! Will stay here again next time I’m in Houston.

It was ok

This property needs to improve on its cleanliness standards. Seems my room was formerly occupied by a guest with a dog and the stench of the dog was all over the lounge chair and the hair was all over the floor - rooms should’ve been thoroughly cleaned and upholstery steam cleaned - heaven forbid if I was allergic!

TV didn’t work at all.

Two nights in Houston

Super fun environment in a cleverly reimagined motel. The staff was exceptionally nice and we loved the atmosphere. The room was comfortable and roomy. Not the greatest breakfast, but the bar was lively and drinks were excellent. The Heights is central enough that we easily and affordably got around by Uber.
