Mediocre hotel but great location

Great location with a short stroll to Fisherman's Village. Hotel appears a bit shabby in places and nowhere near as good as the previous hotel we stayed in. I wouldn't class this as a 5 star hotel, it just doesn't have the type of class or amenities you would expect. I would put it as a 4 star at the most. The staff were great and the pool magnificent but rooms not cleaned well and towels provided each day were often threadbare or stains on them. Worst of all was the awful and distinct smell of mouldiness in the room that points to ventilation or air conditioning issues. Coffee/tea facilities in room were poor and the breakfast included was nothing special. The place definitely needs a major renovation.

Amazing stay at Hansar

i have stayed in this hotel during the last few year, and i will be back again! the staff is amazing and always are willing to help. food is great, clean, location is wonderful. We had to leave the hotel after few days because emergency, and the hotel was amazing, they gave us voucher on the days we could not stay, we are truly appriciate such kindness, we defintely will come back soon! we simply love everything about this hotel! oh if they can do for me a vegan choclate next time that will be amazing too! we will come back again soon for sure!!

Great location, wonderful facilities and the staff were great!

I have mixed feelings on this hotel. On one hand the property is beautiful - salt water pool is amazing and you’re literally beachside. You’re also walking distance to all the markets and restaurants in fisherman’s village. The flip side is that I just couldn’t get over the room quality. We had an issue with the lack of cleanliness on the first night which they fixed the next day and comped us. But the room was just so mildewy smelling from the AC. It was impossible to get rid of the smell and I couldn’t get over it. I know it’s not just from beachside either because I’ve stayed at beachside hotels in humid weather and I’ve never had a mildewy AC.

Location of the Hansar is superb, just a 2 minute walk from Fisherman’s Village with its many dining options and bars.

And amazing hotel, brilliant staff, great location and fantastic food. There really is nothing negative to mention.

A nice quiet place for a vacation with family.

My first trip to Koh Samui, absolutely love it here and this hotel plays a big role as why I love this island so much. Services are great, staffs are very friendly ( kudos to Ju and Ford at front desk and also met w sales and marketing exe Chris; all of them offer top niche services). Can’t argue w the amazing location, walking distance to tons of restaurants, shoppings and massages! Our room overlooks pool and ocean, it is an amazing hotel to have a relaxing vaca. I’ll certainly come back again without a doubt!

Thoroughly enjoyable 4 day break. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was very comfortable and the Hotel was perfectly situated from the beach and the main shopping/eateries.

We loved the relaxed atmosphere and the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff without exception. Live music by the pool bar was a nice touch. Our only slight criticism would be that it would have been useful to have usb charge points in the room

Great hotel in a wonderful location. I loved being right next to Fisherman’s Wharf with all the restaurants, shops and fire show.

Great accommodations. Very friendly staff. We had a very late flight out and they were able to accommodate late showers for the family after a days fun in the sun.

perfect intro to the thai islands

perfect chill stay by the beach. mostly older couple and younger ones with infants. very serene and relaxing location within easy walking to numerous restaurants. decent gym and amazing spa with a 2-for-1 deal on massages!

Great hotel with a real chilled feel about it. Right on the beach, lovely pool and 2 mins walk away from all the restaurants, bars and street market of Fisherman's Village.

The hotel was located very close to the restaurants and market areas of Fisherman's Village, but not so close as to be affected by the noise. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and the concierge was especially helpful in arranging special trips for us.

The pool was amazing with the most beautiful view, the location at the end of the walkway was quiet and convenient to walk to everything in fisherman’s village , if you need laundry up the road it’s very close, lots of restaurants nearby, nightly entertainment , sitting on the balcony looking out at the gulf was lovely , the breakfast was great ,

We have stayed at the Hansa Samui a number of time unfortunately it is starting to show its age great location great staff a revamp of the facilities would be welcome.

The property was well maintained with a wonderful outlook and pool area.

The showers are constantly erratic, no constant warm water, keeps going from cold to boiling water plus low water pressure. Problem was complained about a few times, no solution provided. Toilet with low water pressure, poor flushing, with perforated Rotan door, very inconvenient, No chair or desk in the room, inconvenient positioning of toiletries, no hand soap by or on the sink near the toilet, Definitely not a 5 or even a 4 star hotel. The staff however are very friendly and professional .

The atmosphere and interaction with fellow guest and staff was wonderful. A very well ran and maintained property.

Amazing resort, amazing room and most of all amazing staff! If you need anything they are so attentive and helpful - we will definitely be coming back! We even extended our stay by another 5 nights it’s so good. Really peaceful and the pool area is nice and quiet to relax.

Great week away !

Great hotel, seaview xl room was super comfortable. Breakfast good. All staff very friendly, Bond and Max at th3 pool bar always happy and cocktails were lovely. Pool was excellent and the beach literally 10 seconds away. Bars and restaurants of Fisherman’s Village and the busy night market a 5 min walk away My only minor gripe was the air conditioning was quite noisy at night, even if our unit was switched off.

This property was outstanding, I highly recommend it . I definitely will be coming back to this hotel. The staff the breakfasts the conveniently placed hotel near wonderful shops and restaurants. the beach bar was amazing.

The entire property is beautiful and nicely set out and the staff were amazing but the curtains in my room were visibly mouldy which gave the room a bit of a musty smell

The view was amazing from our room and the pool deck. It’s an image I will never forget. The staff were always extremely friendly and attentive. Special shout out to Tee and Meow whose hospitality and sincerity made us smile with each interaction. Breakfast was relaxing and delicious with so many options you wished you had room to try everything. The location was great, on the beach and a very short walk to fisherman’s village. The property was so lovely that even my busy husband was content to spend a day just lounging around. No complaints here—I would definitely stay here again!!

First time to Kho Samui and the Hansar. Nice and quiet location just down the street from the Fisherman's Village which offer options for good food and some entertainment. The friendly staff and service at the Hansar was definitely the highlight.

Great hotel. We travel a lot and rarely go back to a hotel. 3rd time here which says a lot. Just love the place. Pool is lovely, staff are friendly and lots of great places to eat and drink on the doorstep. Love it.

Excellent staff,food and room facilities. The only negative involved the use of the main pool by nappy clad young children. The resort provides a seperate childrens pool, unfortunately parents choose not use this facility. Strict rules need to be enforced for the sake of all guests.

The location of the property along the beach at Bophut and a close walk to Fisherman's village is outstanding. The staff were very friendly and request attended to very promptly e.g. request for adapters for plugs.

Listen, my advice to you is stay here if you'd like a little slice of heaven. Now, mind you, resorts like this are typically my thang, but this, THIS! Hansar Samui has it all. Incredible staff - every single one of them. Beautiful architecture. Great amenities throughout. Delicious onsite restaurant. Divine pool with view of beach. 30 second walk to the beach, 10 minute walk up the road to town with bars, restaurants, etc. My room was BEAUTIFUL but there was a hiccup b/c it was clearly made for a couple, not two people just traveling together. (no door on bathroom, window into shower). So like I said, resorts aren't my thing... but Hansar Samui? I'LL BE BACK!

Wonderful hotel and location

quick walk to Fishermen’s Wharf restaurants and shopping. Spacious, clean room with comfortable twin beds and large shower. Great balcony with comfy seating, ceiling fan and drying rack. Amazing pool right off the beach. Plenty of lounge chairs. Excellent service at pool and at front desk. Bar drinks a little expensive. Breakfast buffet was decent and made-to-order menu items delicious. Very relaxing!

everything is just ok about this hotel. You can’t expect anything exceptional, at the same time there is nothing to complain about. Pros: Good location and view. Fisherman village is just right beside and access to food and drinks. Cons: Old property. Slippery floors in the room. Service is just ok. They provide what you ask. Nothing You will have hard time conversing with the staff. They don’t understand English well. Really dark ambience at night. Hard to walk around with kids

Excellent my only issue is that the sparkling wine served at the beach bar is often flat due to the fact it is a normal size bottle open for too long after initial use. Also be aware that bar prices also include taxes and service charge therefore making it expensive. Most guests seemed to avoid the bar.

Amazingly friendly staff, beautiful rooms and great location.

Lost in translation

All rooms are technically “Seaview” as the complex is a “C” shape and opens to the beach/water. Disappointed that the staff couldn’t do more to help us celebrate our 50th birthdays. We reserved 2 “Seaview” rooms - one “suite” and one “regular” room. After Check-in, Our attendant took my husband and I to the smaller of the two rooms which the hotel staff had placed a heart of petals with a “15” in the center of the bed. Would have been lovely had they put us in the suite they had taken our teenage daughters. Of course, they left us to figure that all out and move the girls to their room and us to the suite. When asked if we could upgrade the girls room, complete run around, no fix, nothing. Why they would have thought that we would have wanted the smaller room is mind boggling. We probably paid more than we should have for both rooms and this was very disappointing start to our stay at Hansar. All of this after multiple messages about the 50th celebration we planned to have during our stay. Clearly lost in translation. Positives - waitstaff at breakfast and the pool were attentive and friendly throughout entire stay. The proximity to the village was great.

Excellent location, very attentive staff, breakfast, excellent restaurant, wonderful pool and staff serving the pool area. Only criticism is lack of security in the pool area. Passers by invaded the pool area from the beach promenade daily without being challenged by staff, used the facilities, including pool, showers, towels. We felt unsure about leaving mobiles and belongings. Hotel management did not seem at all bothered about the intruders.

Good situation, nice pool, like everything in Koh Samui overpriced

Beautiful beach front hotel, with tasteful minimalist architecture. The pool, the beach and the location are all excellent, with the fisherman's village nearby. The staff is wonderful, and happy to help you plan day trips in and around the island.

Excellent location on a nice clean section of the beach and right next to Fisherman’s village that had shops, restaurants, currency exchange and everything else we needed during our one week stay. After checking out other locations and resorts we would definitely stay at Hansar again next time.

This property has the nicest washroom and rooms i have ever seen. I will definetely return snd stay here again. However the breakfast selection is crap. Just wish it was a little cheaper.

Much to enjoy, pool fabulous especially if enjoy doing laps. Food excellent. Room decor a bit tired & airconditioner needs major attention. New mattresses needs. So hotel needs to do some internal upgrades. Overall though is a wonderful holiday spot.

on night of arrival, safe was spoilt and sink was clogged hotel staff generally not very friendly, not very helpful when we needed help booking appointments at other massage places otherwise an OK stay but disappointing considering that this was our honeymoon

Best hotel

Very good hotel in the best location

The location of this hotel is great. Right infront of a quiet beach which is awesome. Within 2-3minutes away from fisherman village which provide a lot of food vendors, massage places and souvenir shops. Room was kept clean and tidy daily and the pool is well maintained. The breakfast spread was awesome too with a custom request for your egg dishes.

Amazing location and property, better if there is a small area for kids club so we shall keep the kids occupied. The staff (especially male) normally provide friendly service and smile during breakfast or at the beach bar while the female look very busy and better to put up more smiles on the face, this shall be more charming (except receptionist whom are always great). But overall is fine. Will come back anytime soon if there is a chance. But please fix your location on facebook immediately, we almost missed the meeting as the location lead us to wrong place in Chaweng. Oh, thank you for the anniversary bed (yet we found big worm on the bed, i doubt he must love the rose lol) And for housekeeping attendant, better if the tea cup could be cleaned up after use. Yet, the rest is very good! thank you housekeeping attendant for making our room great!

Fantastic Hotel with amazing staff & the view is spectacular.

The hotel is quite new and management wise it is pretty ok. A few issues are listed below. 1. Breakfast is very limited and not too tasty. 2. The bed in the room a bit too old and soft. I did get a chance to explore the anatara next door and I believe this hotel has better pool view and more modern. The location is very nice. It is just next to the fisherman village where we can find tons of restaurants and shoppings. The beach is quite although the sands are not so comfortable as Chaweng. But I am still glad I choose this area as it has easy access to stores/restaurants and same time in a quite beach.

Great stay in KOH SAMUI!

Fantastic resort. When we come back to Koh Samui we will stay here again. The service employees were all superb and especially Maria, was extra courteous and helpful. The breakfast buffet is very very good and I highly recommend it in your package.

Hotel facilities and room were amazing. Service wasn’t as pleasant as other places. There was a noisy wedding at the hotel until 12 pm with loud music, we complained 3 times and didn’t get any appropriate response or compensation. Also friends with a baby who came to visit us at the hotel- were told to leave because they are not hotel guests.

Perfect Location and Resort

Happy with choice of Bophut Beach location as quieter than Chaweng but adjacent to Fisherman's market so had the vibe for shopping and restaurants. Hansar Hotel was superb, with XL beachfront room. Wonderful views overlooking beach and pool. Staff were super friendly, and helpful. Fantastic trip and experience

Clueless staff

The rooms and evwrything were great but the staff seemed to have no idea about anything! 1. We called in advance and asked for an early check in which they agreed to but upon arrival they said they cant do it. 2. We were supposed to get 3 rooms next to eaxh other which ALSO they agreed upon but one room they gave us on a completely different building. 3. We asked for an iron and had to call 3/4 times for it. Finally after almost an hour they came with a faulty iron which then took 20 mins more to get replaced. 4. We asked them to give us a wake-up call on the day we left but they absolutely didnt. When we went down (4am) we found the staff sleeping on the guest sofa.

Thoroughly recommend.

This is an excellent hotel with great amenities and location close to Fisherman's Village with plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from. Swimming pool lounges can get a bit crowded and there is not a great deal of shade for those seeking a cool spot. Also there are, occasionally, a few stale water smells around. These issues are minor overall with spacious rooms, great balconies, service, cleanliness and excellent friendly and cooperative staff notable.

I’m booking sea view room but staff said room full also not smile welcome us. We said can wait the sea view room. Lucky when take to the room change staff to service us including staff pool bar slow take service order and alway walk and walk and face not welcome. May be need service oversea guest only.. upset this five star service hotel.

Aeesome customer friendly service. All rooms facing sea and this hotel is on the beach closest hotel to entrance fishermans village. Will drfinately recommend and come again

Excellent location next to beautiful beach and minutes from restaurants and bars of fisherman's village. Hotel staff and level of service where fantastic. Although we travel all too regularly and visit hotels across the world, the servive at the Hansar from the management is as warm and professional as I've experienced. Definately a five star experience.

Great resort with nice infinity pool and breakfast

We booked the rooms with seaview but we only got partial view and was blocked by the coconut trees. The rooms is very comfortable with a balcony. We love the infinity pool and the breakfast is really good. Very good spread and lots of choices. The service is really good and friendly. Will definitely stay again.

Beautiful hotel, amazing staff, perfect location. Recommend to couples looking for a quiet place to stay, yet conveniently located near many great food options. All the rooms provide a view to the ocean. They offer three happy hours throughout the day! Their breakfast is also great! You can order an a la carte dish, plus access to a buffet filled with a variety of options. We are huge coffee fans, so we really enjoyed their cold brew from Bangkok's Elefin Coffee. The centrally located infinity pool is amazing. It provides a perfect spot to relax with a view of the ocean.

Location is great. Can improve on room design. There’s no desk and no spot to leave your phones to charge. Stand alone washing basin looks cool but not functional.

Perfect location, ideal holiday

Hotel is perfectly located in the best part of the Island. So much to do around there. Right on the beach. Great hotel, pool bar and restaurant excellent. Staff are gorgeous. Rooms and service exceptional. Views amazing

We weren't at Hansar for long enough.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The location, beach and pool are an asset to the hotel. The views may be limited from some rooms but still offer glimpses of the pool and beach. Great breakfast where you will also enjoy views of the bay and beaches. If we go back we will definitely stay at Hansar again.

Nice view, big balcony, and friendly staff. We enjoyed swimming at a nice pool with a view of beautiful sea. Good access to Big Buddha and other view spots. Nice restaurants are around by walk.

I read about all the wonderful reviews of this place and thought this would be a great hotel to stay at for 5 nights during our time in Koh Samui. Nice hotel on the beachfront. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great foods and services. Overall was a great stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it. We liked it so much that we plan to return soon.

Fabulous R&R Resort

Lovely experience with friendly, attentive and professional staff. Spacious and comfortable pool facilities. We had a change of rooms to one with total frontal sea view! Food at H Bistro was fresh, delicious and unique! Excellent stay!

Super relaxing

Third time to this hotel - very chilled and relaxing but still close to Fishermans village to walk into for dinner in the evenings. Beach is great, breakfast excellent (part buffet, part cooked to order eggs, pancakes etc).
